BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
भुजंग प्रयात छंद ॥
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਉਧਿਤਸਟਾਯੰਉਤੈਸਿੰਘਧਾਯੋ॥
ਉਧਰ ਵਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਛੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਪੂੰਛ ਉੱਚੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਅਗੇ ਵਧਿਆ।
With elevated tail and full of rage the lion ran forward.
उधित सटायं उतै सिंघ धायो ॥
ਇਤੇਸੰਖਲੈਹਾਥਿਦੇਵੀਬਜਾਯੋ॥
ਇਧਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਖ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਜਾਇਆ।
There the goddess holding the conch in her hand, blew it.
इते संख लै हाथि देवी बजायो ॥
ਪੁਰੀਚਉਦਹੂੰਯੰਰਹਿਯੋਨਾਦਪੂਰੰ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਦੀ) ਧੁਨੀ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਗੂੰਜਣ ਲਗੀ
Its sound reverberated in all the fourteen regions.
पुरी चउदहूंयं रहियो नाद पूरं ॥
ਚਮਕਿਯੋਮੁਖੰਜੁਧਕੇਮਧਿਨੂਰੰ੧੭੫੫॥॥॥
(ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ) ਮੁਖ ਵਿਚਲਾ ਨੂਰ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਚਮਕਣ ਲਗਾ ॥੧੭॥੫੫॥
The face of the goddess was filled with brightness in the battlefield.17.55.
चमकियो मुखं जुध के मधि नूरं ॥१७॥५५॥
ਤਬੈਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਣੰਮਚਿਯੋਸਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਨੈਣ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ (ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ) ਅਗੇ ਵਧਿਆ।
Then Dhumar Nain, the weapon-wielder, was greatly excited.
तबै धूम्र नैणं मचियो ससत्र धारी ॥
ਲਏਸੰਗਜੋਧਾਬਡੇਬੀਰਭਾਰੀ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਡੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਲਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
He took many brave warriors with him.
लए संग जोधा बडे बीर भारी ॥
ਲਯੋਬੇੜਿਪਬੰਕੀਯੋਨਾਦਉੱਚੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪਰਬਤ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉੱਚਾ ਨਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ
They besieged the mountain and began to shout at the top of their voice.
लयो बेड़ि पबं कीयो नाद उचं ॥
ਸੁਣੇਗਰਭਣੀਆਨਿਕੇਗਰਭਮੁਚੰ੧੮੫੬॥॥॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗਰਭ-ਪਾਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੮॥੫੬॥
Which when heard could destroy the pregnancy of women.18.56.
सुणे गरभणीआनि के गरभ मुचं ॥१८॥५६॥
ਸੁਣਿਯੋਨਾਦਸ੍ਰਵਣੰਕੀਯੋਦੇਵਿਕੋਪੰ॥
ਦੇਵੀ (ਨੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਦ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋਈ
When the goddess heard voice of the demon-chief, she was greatly enraged.
सुणियो नाद स्रवणं कीयो देवि कोपं ॥
ਸਜੇਚਰਮਬਰਮੰਧਰੇਸੀਸਿਟੋਪੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ (ਲੋਹੇ ਦਾ) ਟੋਪ ਰਖ ਕੇ ਢਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਚ ਸਜਾ ਲਿਆ।
She bedecked herself with shield and armour and wore the steel-helmet on her head.
सजे चरम बरमं धरे सीसि टोपं ॥
ਭਈਸਿੰਘਸੁਆਰੰਕੀਯੋਨਾਦਉੱਚੰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਸ਼ੇਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚਾ ਨਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ
She mounted the lion and shouted loudly.
भई सिंघ सुआरं कीयो नाद उचं ॥
ਸੁਨੇਦੀਹਦਾਨਵਾਨਕੇਮਾਨਮੁਚੰ੧੯੫੭॥॥॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਵਡੇ ਵਡੇ ਰਾਖਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੈਂਕੜ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੧੯॥੫੭॥
Hearing her shouts, the pride of the demons was destroyed.19.57.
सुने दीह दानवान के मान मुचं ॥१९॥५७॥
ਮਹਾਕੋਪਿਦੇਵੀਧਸੀਸੈਨਮਧੰ॥
ਦੇਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਧਸ ਗਈ
In great ire, the goddess penetrated into the demon-army.
महा कोपि देवी धसी सैन मधं ॥
ਕਰੇਬੀਰਬੰਕੇਤਹਾਅਧੁਅਧੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਥੇ ਸਜੀਲੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਧੋ-ਅਧ ਵਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
She chopped into halves the great heroes.
करे बीर बंके तहा अधु अधं ॥
ਜਿਸੈਧਾਇਕੈਸੂਲਸੈਥੀਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ (ਵੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ) ਭਜ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ ਜਾਂ ਸੈਹੱਥੀ ਚਲਾਈ,
On whomsoever the goddess struck her blow with her trident and the destructive weapon (Saihathi)
जिसै धाइ कै सूल सैथी प्रहारियो ॥
ਤਿਨੇਫੇਰਿਪਾਣੰਨਬਾਣੰਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ੨੦੫੮॥॥॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਫੜਿਆ ॥੨੦॥੫੮॥
He could not hold again his bow and arrows in his hands.20.58.
तिने फेरि पाणं न बाणं संभारियो ॥२०॥५८॥
