ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਕਥਾਭਈਇਹਦਿਸਇਹਭਾਤਾ॥
ਇਧਰ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਹੋਈ,
कथा भई इह दिस इह भाता ॥
ਅਬਕਹੋਬਿਸਨਤ੍ਰੀਯਾਕੀਬਾਤਾ॥
ਹੁਣ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ (ਲੱਛਮੀ) ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
How this story occurred? In this context, I relate the story of the wife of Vishnu :
अब कहो बिसन त्रीया की बाता ॥
ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦਾਰਿਕਦਿਨਏਕਪਕਾਏ॥
ਲੱਛਮੀ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਬੈਂਗਣ ਪਕਾਏ ਸਨ,
ब्रिंदारिक दिन एक पकाए ॥
ਦੈਤਸਭਾਤੇਬਿਸਨੁਬੁਲਾਏ੫॥॥
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਵਾ ਆ ਗਿਆ ॥੫॥
One day, he cooked the brinjals in her home and at the same time, Vishnu was called by the assembly of demons, where he went.5.
दैत सभा ते बिसनु बुलाए ॥५॥
ਆਇਗਯੋਤਹਨਾਰਦਰਿਖਿਬਰ॥
ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਰਦ ਭੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਸਤਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ
आइ गयो तह नारद रिखि बर ॥
ਬਿਸਨਨਾਰਿਕੇਧਾਮਿਛੁਧਾਤੁਰ॥
ਉਥੇ ਲੱਛਮੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
At the same time, the great sage Narada reached the house of Vishnu and he was very hungry.
बिसन नारि के धामि छुधातुर ॥
ਬੈਗਨਨਿਰਖਿਅਧਿਕਲਲਚਾਯੋ॥
ਬੈਂਗਣ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਲਲਚਾਇਆ। (ਉਹ) ਮੰਗਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ
बैगन निरखि अधिक ललचायो ॥
ਮਾਗਰਹਿਯੋਪਰਹਾਥਿਨਆਯੋ੬॥॥
ਪਰ (ਬੈਂਗਣ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ॥੬॥
Seeing the cooked vegetable of brinjals, his mind was tempted, but he did not get it even on asking for it.6.
माग रहियो पर हाथि न आयो ॥६॥
ਨਾਥਹੇਤੁਮੈਭੋਜਪਕਾਯੋ॥
(ਲੱਛਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-) ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਲਈ ਭੋਜਨ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ
नाथ हेतु मै भोज पकायो ॥
ਮਨੁਛਪਠੈਕਰਬਿਸਨੁਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਪਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੂੰ (ਦੈਂਤ ਸਭਾ ਨੇ) ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
The wife of Vishnu said that she had prepared that food for her lord, therefore it was not possible for her to give it, (she also said:) “I have sent a messenger to call him and the may be coming.”
मनुछ पठै कर बिसनु बुलायो ॥
ਨਾਰਦਖਾਇਜੂਠਹੋਇਜੈਹੈ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਰਦ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਖਾ ਲਏਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ (ਭੋਜਨ) ਜੂਠਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ
नारद खाइ जूठ होइ जै है ॥
ਪੀਅਕੋਪਿਤਹਮਰੇਪਰਹੁਐਹੈ੭॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੭॥
The wife of Vishnu thought that if Narada partook it the food would become impure and her lord wound be angry with.7.
पीअ कोपित हमरे पर हुऐ है ॥७॥
