ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਚਹੂੰਓਰਢੂਕੇ॥
(ਵੀਰ ਯੋਧੇ) ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਢੁਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
चहूं ओर ढूके ॥
ਮੁਖੰਮਾਰੁਕੂਕੇ॥
ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ ਕੂਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
मुखं मारु कूके ॥
ਝੰਡਾਗਡਗਾਢੇ॥
ਪੱਕੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੰਡੇ ਗਡੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
झंडा गड गाढे ॥
ਮਚੇਰੋਸਬਾਢੇ੧੩੯੦॥॥॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ (ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ) ਗਹਿ-ਗਚ ਹਨ ॥੧੩॥੯੦॥
They have fixed firmly their banners and in excitement their rage is increasing.13.90.
मचे रोस बाढे ॥१३॥९०॥
ਭਰੇਬੀਰਹਰਖੰ॥
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ
भरे बीर हरखं ॥
ਕਰੀਬਾਣਬਰਖੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The warriors filled with delight are showering their arrows.
करी बाण बरखं ॥
ਚਵੰਚਾਰਢੁਕੇ॥
ਚੌਹਾਂ (ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਚਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਢੁਕ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ
चवं चार ढुके ॥
ਪਛੇਆਹੁਰੁਕੇ੧੪੯੧॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਪੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰੁਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥੯੧॥
All the four types of forces are moving forward and staying in their arens.14.91.
पछे आहु रुके ॥१४॥९१॥
ਪਰੀਸਸਤ੍ਰਝਾਰੰ॥
ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੀ (ਖੂਬ) ਝਾੜ ਪਈ,
परी ससत्र झारं ॥
ਚਲੀਸ੍ਰੋਣਧਾਰੰ॥
(ਫਲਸਰੂਪ) ਲਹੂ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਗ ਚਲੀ।
With the use of all the weapons, the stream of blood began to flow.
चली स्रोण धारं ॥
ਉਠੇਬੀਰਮਾਨੀ॥
ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਵੀਰ-ਸੈਨਿਕ ਉਠ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ
उठे बीर मानी ॥
ਧਰੇਬਾਨਹਾਨੀ੧੫੯੨॥॥॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੱਥ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਧਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੫॥੯੨॥
The most honoured warriors arose with bow and arrows in their hands.15.92.
धरे बान हानी ॥१५॥९२॥
ਮਹਾਰੋਸਿਗਜੇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
महा रोसि गजे ॥
ਤੁਰੀਨਾਦਬਜੇ॥
ਤੁਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਧੌਂਸੇ ਵਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
They are raaring in great anger, and the clarionets and drums are being played.
तुरी नाद बजे ॥
ਭਏਰੋਸਭਾਰੀ॥
ਅਤਿ-ਅਧਿਕ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ
भए रोस भारी ॥
ਮਚੇਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ੧੬੯੩॥॥॥
(ਵੱਡੇ) ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਕਾਰਜ ਵਿਚ) ਮਗਨ ਹਨ ॥੧੬॥੯੩॥
Filled with great fury, the wielders of canopies are much excited.16.93.
मचे छत्रधारी ॥१६॥९३॥
ਹਕੰਹਾਕਬਜੀ॥
ਲਲਕਾਰੇ ਤੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
हकं हाक बजी ॥
ਫਿਰੈਸੈਣਭਜੀ॥
ਸੈਨਾ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਭਜੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
There are shouts after shouts and the forces are running hither and thither.
फिरै सैण भजी ॥
ਪਰਿਯੋਲੋਹਕ੍ਰੋਹੰ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਲੋਹੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਹਾ ਖੜਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
परियो लोह क्रोहं ॥
ਛਕੇਸੂਰਸੋਹੰ੧੭੯੪॥॥॥
ਯੋਧੇ (ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ) ਮਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੋਭ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੭॥੯੪॥
With great ire, the steel is being used, and the inebriated warriors look glorious.17.94.
छके सूर सोहं ॥१७॥९४॥
ਗਿਰੇਅੰਗਭੰਗੰ॥
ਟੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੰਗ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ (ਇੰਜ) ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ,
गिरे अंग भंगं ॥
ਦਵੰਜਾਨੁਦੰਗੰ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਅੰਗਾਰੇ ਦਗ ਦਗ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ।
The warriors with chopped limbs have fallen and the red blood appears like flaming fire.
दवं जानु दंगं ॥
ਕੜੰਕਾਰਛੁਟੇ॥
ਕਾੜ ਕਾੜ ਕਰਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਛੁਟਦੇ ਹਨ
कड़ंकार छुटे ॥
ਝਣੰਕਾਰਉਠੇ੧੮੯੫॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਝਣਕਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੮॥੯੫॥
The jingling and the twanging sounds of weapons are being heard.18.95.
झणंकार उठे ॥१८॥९५॥
ਕਟਾਕਟਬਾਹੇ॥
ਕਟਾਕਟ (ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਚਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ
कटा कट बाहे ॥
ਉਭੈਜੀਤਚਾਹੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ (ਵੀਰ-ਯੋਧੇ ਆਪਣੀ) ਜਿਤ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ (ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ) ਹਨ।
The weapons are being struck with clinking sound and both sides wan their victory.
उभै जीत चाहै ॥
ਮਹਾਮਦਮਾਤੇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬਹੁਤ ਮਦ-ਮਸਤ ਹਨ
महा मद माते ॥
ਤਪੇਤੇਜਤਾਤੇ੧੯੯੬॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਪੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੯॥੯੬॥
Many are intoxicated with wine and in great fury, they appear highly inflamed.19.96.
तपे तेज ताते ॥१९॥९६॥
ਰਸੰਰੁਦ੍ਰਰਾਚੇ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਰੌਦਰ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਚੇ ਹੋਏ
रसं रुद्र राचे ॥
ਉਭੈਜੁਧਮਾਚੇ॥
ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
They are flushed with rage and are absorbed in waging war.
उभै जुध माचे ॥
ਕਰੈਬਾਣਅਰਚਾ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੇਟਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ
करै बाण अरचा ॥
ਧਨੁਰਬੇਦਚਰਚਾ੨੦੯੭॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਧਨੁਰ-ਵੇਦ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੦॥੯੭॥
They offer arrows and are discussing archery.20.97.
धनुर बेद चरचा ॥२०॥९७॥
ਮਚੇਬੀਰਬੀਰੰ॥
ਸੂਰਮੇ ਵੀਰਤਾ (ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ) ਮਸਤ ਹਨ
मचे बीर बीरं ॥
ਉਠੀਝਾਰਤੀਰੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਝੜੀ ਲਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
The heroes are absorbed in heroic feats and are rainiong the shafts.
उठी झार तीरं ॥
ਗਲੋਗਡਫੋਰੈ॥
ਚਕ੍ਰ-ਵਿਯੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਦੇ ਹਨ
गलो गड फोरै ॥
ਨਹੀਨੈਨਮੋਰੈ੨੧੯੮॥॥॥
(ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ) ਅੱਖ ਮੋੜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ ॥੨੧॥੯੮॥
They are penetrating into the warrior-stronghold and do not turn away their eyes from it.21.98.
नही नैन मोरै ॥२१॥९८॥
ਸਮੁਹਸਸਤ੍ਰਬਰਖੇ॥
ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ
समुह ससत्र बरखे ॥
ਮਹਿਖੁਆਸੁਕਰਖੇ॥
ਅਤੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ਾਂ ('ਮਹਿਖੁਆਸ') ਉਤੇ ਚਿੱਲਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They are striking their weapons, facing the enemy and are pulling their bow-strings.
महिखुआसु करखे ॥
ਕਰੈਤੀਰਮਾਰੰ॥
ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ
करै तीर मारं ॥
ਬਹੈਲੋਹਧਾਰੰ੨੨੯੯॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਲਹੂ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਵਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੨॥੯੯॥
They are showering the arrows and striking the sharp steel-arms.22.99.
बहै लोह धारं ॥२२॥९९॥
ਨਦੀਸ੍ਰੋਣਪੂਰੰ॥
ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਨਦੀ ਭਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
नदी स्रोण पूरं ॥
ਫਿਰੀਗੈਣਹੂਰੰ॥
ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਹੂਰਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
The stream of blood has become full and the houris are roaming in the sky.
फिरी गैण हूरं ॥
ਗਜੈਗੈਣਿਕਾਲੀ॥
ਕਾਲੀ ਆਸਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਗੱਜ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ
गजै गैणि काली ॥
ਹਸੀਖਪਰਾਲੀ੨੩੧੦੦॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਖੱਪਰ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ (ਜੋਗਣਾਂ) ਹਸ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੨੩॥੧੦੦॥
The goddess Kali is roaring in the firmament and the female demon of the begging bowl is laughing.23.100.
हसी खपराली ॥२३॥१००॥
ਕਹੂੰਬਾਜਮਾਰੇ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਮੋਏ ਪਏ ਹਨ,
कहूं बाज मारे ॥
ਕਹੂੰਸੂਰਭਾਰੇ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਵਡੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ (ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ)
Somewhere there are dead horses and somewhere the fallen mighty warriors.
कहूं सूर भारे ॥
ਕਹੂੰਚਰਮਟੂਟੈ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਟੁਟੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਹਨ
कहूं चरम टूटै ॥
ਫਿਰੇਗਜਫੂਟੈ੨੪੧੦੧॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਹਾਥੀ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੪॥੧੦੧॥
Somewhere there are broken shields and somewhere the wounded elephants are roaming.24.101.
फिरे गज फूटै ॥२४॥१०१॥
ਕਹੂੰਬਰਮਬੇਧੇ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕਵਚ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹੇ (ਪਏ ਹਨ)
कहूं बरम बेधे ॥
ਕਹੂੰਚਰਮਛੇਦੇ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਟੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਹਨ,
Somewhere the armour is penetrated and the inflicted skein is being seen.
कहूं चरम छेदे ॥
ਕਹੂੰਪੀਲਪਰਮੰ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਵਡੇ ਹਾਥੀ (ਕਟੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ)
कहूं पील परमं ॥
ਕਟੇਬਾਜਬਰਮੰ੨੫੧੦੨॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਵਚ (ਬਰਮੰ) ਕੁਟੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ॥੨੫॥੧੦੨॥
Somewhere there are chopped elephants and somewhere the saddles of horses are seen cut down.25.102.
कटे बाज बरमं ॥२५॥१०२॥
ਬਲੀਬੈਰਰੁਝੇ॥
ਸੂਰਮੇ ਵੈਰ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਰੁਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
बली बैर रुझे ॥
ਸਮੁਹਿਸਾਰਜੁਝੇ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਲ ਝੂਝ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
The brave warriors are engaged in inimical acts, all of them are fightning with their weapons.
समुहि सार जुझे ॥
ਲਖੇਬੀਰਖੇਤੰ॥
ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ
लखे बीर खेतं ॥
ਨਚੇਭੂਤਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ੨੬੧੦੩॥॥॥
ਭੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਨਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੬॥੧੦੩॥
Realising the presence of warriors in the battlefield, the ghosts and evil spirits are dancing.26.103.
नचे भूत प्रेतं ॥२६॥१०३॥
ਨਚੇਮਾਸਹਾਰੀ॥
ਮਾਸਾਹਾਰੀ ਨਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
नचे मासहारी ॥
ਹਸੇਬ੍ਯੋਮਚਾਰੀ॥
ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
The meat-eaters are dancing, those who roam in the sky, are laughing.
हसे ब्योमचारी ॥
ਕਿਲਕਕਾਰਕੰਕੰ॥
ਕਾਂ ('ਕੰਕੰ') ਕਿਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ
किलक कार कंकं ॥
ਮਚੇਬੀਰਬੰਕੰ੨੭੧੦੪॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਯੋਧੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਸਤੀ ਨਾਲ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਕਾਰਜ ਵਿਚ) ਮਗਨ ਹਨ ॥੨੭॥੧੦੪॥
The crows are cawing and the elegant warriors are intoxicated.27.104.
मचे बीर बंकं ॥२७॥१०४॥
ਛੁਭੇਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ॥
ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ (ਸੈਨਾ-ਨਾਇਕ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧ (ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ)
छुभे छत्रधारी ॥
ਮਹਿਖੁਆਸਚਾਰੀ॥
ਧਨੁਸ਼ਾਂ ('ਮਹਿਖੁਆਸ') ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The wears of canopies are full of fury and from their bows shoot their arrows.
महिखुआस चारी ॥
ਉਠੇਛਿਛਇਛੰ॥
(ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਲਹੂ ਦੀਆਂ) ਛਿੱਟਾਂ ਉਠਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ
उठे छिछ इछं ॥
ਚਲੇਤੀਰਤਿਛੰ੨੮੧੦੫॥॥॥
ਤਿਖੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਗਣ ਨਾਲ ॥੨੮॥੧੦੫॥
They are desirous of their victory and thus are shooting their sharp shafts.28.105.
चले तीर तिछं ॥२८॥१०५॥
ਗਣੰਗਾਂਧ੍ਰਬੇਯੰ॥
ਗਣ, ਗੰਧਰਬ, ਦੂਤ
गणं गांध्रबेयं ॥
ਚਰੰਚਾਰਣੇਸੰ॥
(ਚਰ) ਚਾਰਨ
Ganas, Gandharvas, spies, minstrels and the Siddhas with miraculous powers.
चरं चारणेसं ॥
ਹਸੇਸਿਧਸਿਧੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਹਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ
हसे सिध सिधं ॥
ਮਚੇਬੀਰਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ੨੯੧੦੬॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਵੀਰ-ਯੋਧੇ (ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਮ ਵਿਚ) ਮਗਨ ਹਨ ॥੨੯॥੧੦੬॥
All of them laugh and the warriors are inebriatedwith rage.29.106.
मचे बीर क्रुधं ॥२९॥१०६॥
ਡਕਾਡਕਡਾਕੈ॥
ਡਾਕਣੀਆਂ ਡਕਾਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
डका डक डाकै ॥
ਹਕਾਹਕਹਾਕੈ॥
(ਯੋਧੇ) ਲਲਕਾਰੇ ਤੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਾ ਮਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
The vampires are belching and the egoist warriors are shouting.
हका हक हाकै ॥
ਭਕਾਭੁੰਕਭੇਰੀ॥
ਭੇਰੀਆਂ ਭਕ-ਭਕ ਦੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਜ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ
भका भुंक भेरी ॥
ਡਮਕਡਾਕਡੇਰੀ੩੦੧੦੭॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਡੁਗਡੁਗੀਆਂ ਡਮ-ਡਮ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ (ਕਢ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ) ॥੩੦॥੧੦੭॥
The drums are creating loud sound and there are clanging noises.30.107.
डमक डाक डेरी ॥३०॥१०७॥
ਮਹਾਬੀਰਗਾਜੇ॥
ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਗਜਦੇ ਹਨ,
महा बीर गाजे ॥
ਨਵੰਨਾਦਬਾਜੇ॥
ਨਵੇਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਨਗਾਰੇ ਵਜਦੇ ਹਨ,
The mighty warriors are roaring and the new instruments are being sounded.
नवं नाद बाजे ॥
ਧਰਾਗੋਮਗਜੇ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਡਫਾਂ ਗੂੰਜ ਉਠ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ
धरा गोम गजे ॥
ਦ੍ਰੁਗਾਦੈਤਬਜੇ੩੧੧੦੮॥॥॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਨਾਲ ਦੈਂਤ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੩੧॥੧੦੮॥
The trumpets are resounding and the forces of Durga and the demons are fighting.31.108.
