ਮਾਰੂਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Maaroo, Fifth Mahalaa:
मारू महला ५ ॥
ਪਤਿਤਪਾਵਨਨਾਮੁਜਾਕੋਅਨਾਥਕੋਹੈਨਾਥੁ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ,
His Name is the Purifier of sinners; He is the Master of the masterless.
पतित पावन नामु जा को अनाथ को है नाथु ॥
ਮਹਾਭਉਜਲਮਾਹਿਤੁਲਹੋਜਾਕੋਲਿਖਿਓਮਾਥ॥੧॥
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇਸ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ। (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
In the vast and terrifying world-ocean, he is the raft for those who have such destiny inscribed on their foreheads. ||1||
महा भउजल माहि तुलहो जा को लिखिओ माथ ॥१॥
ਡੂਬੇਨਾਮਬਿਨੁਘਨਸਾਥ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੂਰ (ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, huge numbers of companions have drowned.
डूबे नाम बिनु घन साथ ॥
ਕਰਣਕਾਰਣੁਚਿਤਿਨਆਵੈਦੇਕਰਿਰਾਖੈਹਾਥ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Even if someone does not remember the Lord, the Cause of causes, still, the Lord reaches out with His hand, and saves him. ||1||Pause||
करण कारणु चिति न आवै दे करि राखै हाथ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਗੁਣਉਚਾਰਣਹਰਿਨਾਮਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਥ॥
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉੱਚਾਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ-ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਸਤਾ।
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and take the Path of the Ambrosial Name of the Lord.
साधसंगति गुण उचारण हरि नाम अंम्रित पाथ ॥
ਕਰਹੁਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਮੁਰਾਰਿਮਾਧਉਸੁਣਿਨਾਨਕਜੀਵੈਗਾਥ॥੨॥੭॥੩੦॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਹੇ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ! ਹੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ (ਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੨॥੭॥੩੦॥
Shower me with Your Mercy, O Lord; listening to Your sermon, Nanak lives. ||2||7||30||
करहु क्रिपा मुरारि माधउ सुणि नानक जीवै गाथ ॥२॥७॥३०॥
