ਕਹੁਤੁਤੁਮਤਾਕੌਗਹਿਲ੍ਯਾਊ॥
'ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆਵਾਂ।
ਆਨਿਰਾਵਜੂਤੁਮੈਦਿਖਾਊ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਓ ਜੀ! ਲੈ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂ।
‘If you so desire, please permit me, I will bring him in and show you.
ਜੋਮੁਹਿਕਹੋਤਾਹਿਸੋਊਕੀਜੈ॥
ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਹੋ ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਾਂ
ਡਾਰਿਮਹਲਊਪਰਤੇਦੀਜੈ॥੭॥
(ਜੇ ਕਹੋ ਤਾਂ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੇ ਉਪਰੋਂ (ਹੇਠਾਂ) ਸੁਟ ਦਿਆਂ ॥੭॥
‘Whatever the way you want me to treat him, I will abide by.’(7)
ਪ੍ਰਥਮਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿਇਹਭਾਤਿਜਤਾਈ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ
ਬਹੁਰੋਬਾਧਿਜਾਰਕੌਲ੍ਯਾਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਯਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆਈ।
After telling Raja like this, she tied him and brought him out,
ਆਪੁਭੋਗਜਿਹਸਾਥਕਮਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ,
ਬਹੁਰਿਰਾਵਕੌਆਨਦਿਖਾਯੋ॥੮॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਫਿਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਣ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੮॥
And showed Raja the one with whom she had made love.(8)
ਰਾਨੀਹੇਰਿਤਾਹਿਰਿਸਿਭਰੀ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵਲ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਸਖਿਯਨਕੌਆਗ੍ਯਾਯੌਕਰੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਗਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ।
Rani looked at him furiously and ordered her maids,
ਧੌਲਰਤੇਯਾਕੌਤੁਮਡਾਰੋ॥
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਹੱਲ ਦੇ ਉਪਰੋਂ ਸੁਟ ਦਿਓ
ਆਇਸੁਰਾਜਾਕੋਨਨਿਹਾਰੋ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੋ (ਭਾਵ ਨਾ ਉਡੀਕੋ) ॥੯॥
‘Throw him down the palace and don’t wait for Raja’s order.(9)
ਵੈਸਖਿਆਂਤਾਕੌਲੈਗਈ॥
ਉਹ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਚੀਨਤਸਦਨਸੁਆਗੇਭਈ॥
(ਉਹ ਰੂੰ ਵਾਲੇ) ਕਮਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
The maids took him away. They knew about the room with cotton.
ਸਕਲਰਾਵਕੋਸੋਕਨਿਵਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ
ਰੂੰਈਪੈਤਾਕੌਗਹਿਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥੧੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਰੂੰ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੦॥
They eliminated Raja’s affliction and threw him in the room with cotton.(10)
ਰਾਜੈਲਖੀਦੁਸਟਇਹਘਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਨਤਨਿਤਨਿਕਖੇਦਨਹਿਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਦੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The Raja thought, the culprit had been finished, and his distress was thus eradicated.
ਉਠਿਤਹਤੇਨਿਜੁਧਾਮਸਿਧਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਉਥੋਂ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਹਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਨਿਜੁਜਾਰਲੰਘਾਯੋ॥੧੧॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੧॥
He got up, went away to his own palace, and the woman, through this trickery, saved the friend.(11)
ਪੁਨਿਰਾਜੇਇਹਭਾਤਿਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ
ਇਹਜੋਚੋਰਧਾਮਤੇਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਕਿ ਇਹ ਜੋ ਚੋਰ ਮਹੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਸੀ।
Then Raja ordered, ‘The thief which was thrown down the palace,
ਮੋਹਿਆਨਵਹੁਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਦਿਖੈਯੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਓ।
ਆਗ੍ਯਾਮੋਹਿਮਾਨਿਯਹਲੈਯੈ॥੧੨॥
ਮੇਰੀ ਇਹ ਆਗਿਆ ਮੰਨ ਲਈ ਜਾਏ ॥੧੨॥
‘His deact-oody should be brought and shown to me.’(12)
ਜੋਨਰਹ੍ਯਾਂਤੇਮਿਲੈਬਗਾਈ॥
(ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਜੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇਥੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਵਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਟੂਕਟੂਕਹ੍ਵੈਕੈਸੋਜਾਈ॥
ਉਹ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
‘Any person who is thrown from such a height, must be torn into pieces.
ਤਿਲਤਿਲਭਯੋਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਨਹਿਆਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਚੀਥੜਾ ਚੀਥੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਤਾਕੌਕੌਨਖੋਜਕਰਲ੍ਯਾਵੈ॥੧੩॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਏਗਾ ॥੧੩॥
‘He is not visible, who could find him?(13)
ਤਿਲਤਿਲਪਾਇਅੰਗਤਿਹਭਏ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ ਚੀਥੜਾ ਚੀਥੜਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
ਗੀਧਕਾਕਆਮਿਖਭਖਿਗਏ॥
ਗਿਰਝਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂ ਮਾਸ ਖਾ ਗਏ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
‘His bones must have been minced along with the fle9’h and that flesh must have been eaten by the eagles.
ਤਾਕੋਅੰਗਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਨਹਿਆਵੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਕੋਈ) ਅੰਗ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ।
ਕੌਨਬਿਯੋਤਾਕੌਲੈਆਵੈ॥੧੪॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਵੇਗਾ ॥੧੪॥
‘Not a single piece of his body is visible, who and where one can find him?’(l4)

ਹੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ! ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ,
ਲਹਿਯੋਜਾਇਤਾਕੌਕਛੂਅੰਗਕੈਸੇ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਅੰਗ ਭਲਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Such an explanation was given to Raja that no 11mb of his was evident.
ਕਈਟੂਕਹ੍ਵੈਕੈਪਰਿਯੋਕਹੂੰਜਾਈ॥
ਉਹ ਕਈ ਟੋਟੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਜਾ ਡਿਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਗਏਗੀਧਔਕਾਕਤਾਕੌਚਬਾਈ॥੧੫॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਝਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂ ਚਬਾ ਗਏ ਹੋਣਗੇ ॥੧੫॥
Being him into pieces, the eagle would have eaten them all.(15)

ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਚੁਪ ਕਰ ਗਿਆ
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਰਾਜਕਾਰਜਪਰਕਰੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ-ਕਾਜ ਵਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Hearing this Raja kept quiet and his attention was diverted to the governance.
ਰਾਨੀਅਪਨੋਮੀਤਬਚਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਿਤਰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਵਾਪਸੁਕੌਯੌਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਦਿਖਾਯੋ॥੧੬॥
ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੬॥

ਪਲਾਊ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਦੇਸ ਸੁਣੀਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਮੰਗਲਦੇਵਸੁਰਾਵਭਨੀਜੈ॥
(ਉਥੋਂ ਦਾ) ਮੰਗਲ ਦੇਵ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਦਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
In a country named PIau, Raja Mangal Dev used to rule.
ਸੁਘਰਿਕੁਅਰਿਤਾਕੀਬਰਨਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਘਰ) ਸੁਘਰਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਸੀ।
