ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਜੇ ਵਜੇ ॥੧੪॥

ਪਛਿਮਦੇਵਰਾਵਬਡਭਾਗੀ॥
ਪੱਛਮ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਵ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ।
ਮੰਤ੍ਰਕਲਾਰਾਨੀਸੌਪਾਗੀ॥
ਉਹ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਸੀ।
In the West Country there lived an auspicious king named Dev Raao. Mantar Kala was his wife.
ਜੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹੈਵਹੈਜੜਕਰਈ॥
ਜੋ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ, ਉਹੀ ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਬਿਨੁਪੂਛੈਕਛੁਤਿਹਨਨੁਸਰਈ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਛੇ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਸਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
The way the woman directed, that fool followed and without her consent would not take a single step.(1)
ਤਾਪਰਰਹਤਰਾਵਉਰਝਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਦੋਇਪੁਤ੍ਰਤਾਤੇਉਪਜਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਏ।
She always ensnared the Raja; they had two sons.
ਕਾਲਪਾਇਰਾਜਾਮਰਿਗਯੋ॥
ਸਮਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ
ਰਾਜਪੁਤ੍ਰਤਾਕੇਕੋਭਯੋ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੨॥
After sometimes the Raja died and his sons took over the kingdom.(2)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਏਕਪੁਰਖਆਯੋਤਹਾਅਮਿਤਰੂਪਕੀਖਾਨਿ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਬੰਦਾ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਅਪਾਰ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਸੀ।
Once, a man came, who was very handsome.
ਲਖਿਰਾਨੀਤਿਹਬਸਿਭਈਬਧੀਬਿਰਹਕੈਬਾਨ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਣੀ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਰਹੋਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਗਈ ॥੩॥
Becoming the victim of his love-arrows, Rani felt herself under his spell.(3)
ਸੋਰਠਾ॥
ਸੋਰਠਾ:

ਤਾਕੌਲਯੋਬੁਲਾਇਪਠੈਸਹਚਰੀਏਕਤਿਹ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਸਖੀ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ
Through one of her maids, she called him over,
ਕਹਿਯੋਬਿਰਾਜਹੁਆਇਸੰਕਤ੍ਯਾਗਹਮਕੌਅਬੈ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਹੁਣੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਬਿਰਾਜੋ ॥੪॥
And told him to stay their without any trepidation.(4)
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:

ਤਬਸੁੰਦਰਤਿਨਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਤਦ (ਉਸ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ
ਰਾਨੀਕੇਪ੍ਰਤਿਪ੍ਰਗਟਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕਿਹਾ
Then, that handsome man thought and spoke to the Rani emphatically,
ਏਕਬਾਤਤੁਮਕਰੋਤਾਕਹਊ॥
ਕਿ ਜੇ ਇਕ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੇਂ ਤਾਂ (ਮੈਂ) ਕਹਾਂ,
ਨਾਤਰਧਾਮਨਤੁਮਰੇਰਹਊ॥੫॥
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ ॥੫॥
‘I must ask you one thing, I will stay if you agree, and otherwise I will leave.’(5)
ਸੁਹੌਕਹੌਜੋਯਹਨਹਿਕਰੈ॥
ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕੇਂਗੀ
ਮੋਰਮਿਲਨਕੋਖ੍ਯਾਲਨਪਰੈ॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਵੇਂਗੀ।
(He thought) ‘I must say something which she cannot do and abandon thought of meeting me.
ਦੁਹਕਰਕਰਮਜੁਯਹਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਰਿਹੈ॥
ਜੇ (ਇਹ) ਕਠਿਨ ਕੰਮ ਇਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਰ ਲਏ
ਤਬਯਹਆਜੁਸੁਹਮਕੋਬਰਿਹੈ॥੬॥
ਤਦ ਇਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਜ ਹੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਵਰ ਲਏ ॥੬॥
‘Or else she will be too firm and will definitely marry me.’(6)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਏਜੂਪੂਤਜੁਗਤੁਮਜਨੇਤਿਨਦੁਹੂਅਨਕੋਮਾਰਿ॥
(ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਇਹ ਜੋ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇ
‘These two sons which you have given birth to, kill them both,
ਗੋਦਡਾਰਿਸਿਰਦੁਹੂੰਕੇਮਾਗਹੁਭੀਖਬਜਾਰ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਗੋਦ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮੰਗ ॥੭॥
‘And placing their heads in your lap, go out to beg alms.’ (7)

ਤਬਤਿਹਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਕਾਜਸੋਊਕਿਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ
ਨਿਕਟਬੋਲਿਤਿਨਦੁਹੂੰਅਨਲਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ (ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
The woman decided to undertake the task and called both her sons.
ਮਦਰਾਪ੍ਰਯਾਇਕੀਏਮਤਵਾਰੇ॥
ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਸੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਖੜਗਕਾਢਿਦੋਊਪੂਤਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੮॥
She intoxicated them with wine and with a sword killed them both.(8)

ਦੁਹੂੰਸੁਤਨਕੇਕਾਟਸਿਰਲਏਗੋਦਮੈਡਾਰਿ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਗੋਦ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਲਏ
She cut of and put the heads of both of them in her lap.
ਅਤਿਥਭੇਖਕੋਧਾਰਿਕਰਿਮਾਗੀਭੀਖਬਜਾਰ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧਵੀ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਭਿਖ ਮੰਗੀ ॥੯॥
Putting up the disguise of a beggar, she went out for begging.(9)
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:

ਭੀਖਮਾਗਿਮਿਤਵਾਪਹਿਗਈ॥
ਭਿਖ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ (ਉਹ) ਮਿਤਰ ਕੋਲ ਗਈ
ਪੂਤਨਮੁੰਡਦਿਖਾਵਤਭਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਖਾਏ।
After begging, she went to her lover and showed him the heads of her sons.
ਤੋਰੇਲੀਏਦੋਊਮੈਮਾਰੇ॥
(ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਬਭੋਗਹੁਮੁਹਿਆਨਿਪਿਯਾਰੇ॥੧੦॥
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਹੁਣ ਆ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕਰ ॥੧੦॥
‘I have killed my both the sons. Now you come and make love with me.’(10)
ਦੁਹਕਰਕਰਮਜਾਰਿਲਖਿਲਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਯਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਠਿਨ ਕਰਮ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ
ਪਹਰਏਕਮਿਰਤਕਸੌਭਯੋ॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਕ ਪਹਿਰ ਤਕ ਬੇਸੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
An uphill task he faced, and for one whole watch he felt like a dead man.
ਦੁਤਿਯਪਹਰਆਨਿਜਬਲਾਗਿਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਹਿਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ
ਚਿਤ੍ਰਯੋਛੋਰਿਮੂਰਛਨਾਜਾਗਿਯੋ॥੧੧॥
ਤਾਂ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਸਚੇਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੧੧॥
When the second watch approached, he regained the consciousness.( 11)
ਸਵੈਯਾ॥
ਸਵੈਯਾ:
Savaiyya
ਤਜਿਹੂੰਨਸਕੈਰਮਿਹੂੰਨਸਕੈਇਹਭਾਤਿਕੀਆਨਿਬਨੀਦੁਚਿਤਾਈ॥
(ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਛਡ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਰਮਣ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਆਣ ਬਣੀ ਹੈ।
(And contemplated,) ‘Neither I can accept her, nor can I leave, I am in a fix now.
ਬੈਠਸਕੈਉਠਿਹੂੰਨਸਕੈਕਹਿਹੂੰਨਸਕੈਕਛੁਬਾਤਬਨਾਈ॥
ਬੈਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਗੱਲ ਵੀ ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਕਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
‘Neither, I can sit nor get up, such a situation has arisen.
