ਨਾ ਤਿਆਗ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਗਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਹੀ (ਦੁਬਿਧਾ) ਪਸਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
‘Neither I can abandon her, nor I can relish her in such a condition.
ਝੂਲਿਗਿਰਿਯੋਛਿਤਭੁਲਗਈਸੁਧਿਕਾਗਤਿਮੋਰੇਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸਬਨਾਈ॥੧੨॥
ਘੁਮੇਰੀ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ, ਹੋਸ਼ ਭੁਲ ਗਈ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ (ਭਰੋਸੇ) ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਕੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
‘I have been downed to doom and all my perceptibility has abandoned me.’

ਇਕ ਪਹਿਰ ਬੀਤਣ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਜਾਗਿਆ।
ਤ੍ਰਸਤਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਕੇਗਰਸੋਲਾਗਿਯੋ॥
ਡਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾ ਲਿਆ।
He woke up after another watch had passed and, under extreme compulsion, took the woman in the embrace.
ਜੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹਿਯੋਵਹੈਤਿਨਕੀਨੋ॥
ਜੋ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ
ਬਹੁਰਿਨਾਹਿਕੋਨਾਮੁਨਲੀਨੋ॥੧੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਂਹ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਤਕ ਨਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੩॥
Whatever she asked for he did and, thereafter, never yearned for a woman.(13)(1)

ਤਿਰਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਤਿਰਹੁਤ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਗਰ ਸੀ
ਤਿਹੂੰਲੋਕਭੀਤਰਉਜਿਯਾਰੋ॥
ਜੋ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੀ।
In the country of Tirhat, there was a large town of Tirhatpur, which was renowned in all the three domains.
ਜੰਤ੍ਰਕਲਾਰਾਨੀਇਕਤਾਕੇ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਸੀ।
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਕਲਾਦੁਹਿਤਾਗ੍ਰਿਹਵਾਕੇ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
Jantar Kala was one of its Ranis; she had a daughter named Ruder Kala.(1)
ਲਰਿਕਾਪਨਤਾਕੋਜਬਗਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਚਪਨ ਬੀਤ ਗਿਆ
ਜੋਬਨਆਇਦਮਾਮੋਦਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਨਗਾਰਾ ਵਜਾਇਆ।
When her childhood gave way and youth glittered,
ਇਕਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਸੁੰਦਰਤਿਹਲਹਿਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੇਖਿਆ (ਤਾਂ)
ਹਰਅਰਿਸਰਤਾਕੋਤਨਦਹਿਯੋ॥੨॥
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ (ਕਾਮ ਦੇਵ) ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨॥
She came across a handsome prince and seeing him she experienced the fire of passion.(2)

ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਅਤਿਸੁੰਦਰਘਨੋਸੰਬਰਾਤ੍ਰਿਤਿਹਨਾਮ॥
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਬਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੀ।
The prince was very ravishingly attractive and his name was Sanbratra.
ਤੰਤ੍ਰਕਲਾਤਾਕੌਸਦਾਜਪਤਆਠਹੂੰਜਾਮ॥੩॥
ਤੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ (ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ) ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
Tantra (Ruder) Kala remained imbued in his thought all the eight watches of the day.(3)

ਭੇਜਿਸਹਚਰੀਤਾਹਿਬੁਲਾਯੋਨਿਜੁਸਦਨ॥
(ਆਪਣੀ ਇਕ) ਸਖੀ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
She sent her maid and called him to her place.
ਕਾਮਭੋਗਤਿਹਸੰਗਕਰਿਯੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਛੋਰਿਮਨ॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮ-ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
She made love with him in full swing.
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਕੈਆਸਨਲਏਸੁਧਾਰਿਕੈ॥
ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਆਸਨ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੇ
She invariably adopted numerous postures,
ਹੋਚੁੰਬਨਲਿੰਗਨਕਿਯਮਤਕੋਕਬਿਚਾਰਿਕੈ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਕੋਕ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਚੁੰਬਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਲਿੰਗਨ ਲਏ ॥੪॥
And enjoyed the sex according to Koka Shastra.(4)

ਜੰਤ੍ਰਕਲਾਤਿਹਬਾਲਕੀਮਾਤਗਈਤਬਆਇ॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ (ਉਥੇ) ਆ ਗਈ।
Jantar Kala, the mother ofthe girl, barged in,
ਤੰਤ੍ਰਕਲਾਤਾਤੇਤ੍ਰਸਤਮੀਤਹਿਲਯੋਦੁਰਾਇ॥੫॥
ਤੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੫॥
And Tantra Kala, afraid of her mother hid him.(5)

ਕੇਸਾਤਕਤਿਨਤੁਰਤਮੰਗਾਯੋ॥
(ਤਦ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਰੋਮਨਾਸ਼ਕ ਮੰਗਵਾਇਆ
ਲੀਪਿਸਮਸਤਾਕੀਸੋਲਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਲੇਪ (ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ) ਦਾੜੀ ਮੁੱਛਾਂ ਤੇ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
She immediately sent for the hair-removing powder and spread it on his moustache.
ਤਬਸਭਕੇਸਦੂਰਹ੍ਵੈਗਏ॥
ਜਦ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਲ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੋ ਗਏ,
ਰਾਜਕੁਮਾਰਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਸੇਭਏ॥੬॥
(ਤਦ) ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੬॥
As soon as his hair were taken off, the prince looked like a woman.(6)

ਸਕਲਬਸਤ੍ਰਤ੍ਰਿਯਕੇਧਰੇਪਹਿਰਿਸੁਭੂਖਨਅੰਗ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾਰੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਪਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਜੇਵਰ ਸਜਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Putting on female clothes and ornaments, he disguised as a pretty woman.
ਨਿਰਖਤਛਬਿਸ੍ਰੀਰੁਦ੍ਰਕੇਜਰਿਯੋਜਗਤਅਨੰਗ॥੭॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਸੜ ਗਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਕਾਮ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੭॥
Impressed with his beauty the whole world felt the fire of passion.(7)

ਆਪਨਟਰਿਮਾਤਾਪਹਿਆਈ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਕੋਲ (ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਆਈ।
After dressing him as a woman, she went to her mother.
ਧਰਮਭਗਨਿਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਠਹਰਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਮ-ਭੈਣ ਦਸਿਆ
ਜਾਇਸਭਨਸੌਭੇਦਜਤਾਯੋ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਦਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੮॥
She declared her as her righteous-sister and made an open announcement,(8)

ਧਰਮਭਗਨਿਮਾਤਾਸੁਨੌਮੋਰਿਪਹੂੰਚੀਆਇ॥
ਹੇ ਮਾਤਾ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਮੇਰੀ ਧਰਮ ਭੈਣ (ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ) ਆਈ ਹੈ।
‘Dear Mother, listen, my righteous sister has come.
ਦਰਬੁਬਿਦਾਦੈਕੀਜਿਯੈਤਾਹਿਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿਦਰਸਾਇ॥੯॥
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰੋ ॥੯॥
‘Go, and ask Raja to give her a send-off with many riches.’(9)
ਸੁਣਿਮਾਤਾਬਿਹਸਿਬਚਨਤਾਹਿਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋਆਇ॥
ਮਾਤਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
The mother contemplated on what she was told,
ਗਹਿਬਹਿਯੋਤਹਲੈਗਈਜਹਾਹੁਤੇਨਰਰਾਇ॥੧੦॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਉਥੇ ਲੈ ਗਈ ਜਿਥੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੦॥
And, holding him from the arm took him there where Raja was seated.(10)

ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਸੁਨੋਰਾਵਤਵਧਰਮਜਾਇਹਿਹ੍ਯਾਂਪਹੁਚੀਆਇ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਇਥੇ ਆਈ ਹੈ।
(Rani) ‘Oh, my Raja, listen, your righteous daughter has come here.
