ਜਬਵਹੁਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਅਖੇਟਕਆਵੈ॥
ਜਦ ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ,
ਸ੍ਵਾਨਨਤੇਬਹੁਤਮ੍ਰਿਗਨਗਹਾਵੈ॥
ਤਾਂ ਕੁਤਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹਿਰਨ ਪਕੜਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
When the Raja would go for hunting, he would get many deer killed through his dogs.
ਬਾਜਨਸਾਥਆਬਿਯਨਲੇਹੀ॥
ਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਰਗ਼ਾਬੀਆਂ ਫੜਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ
ਅਮਿਤਦਰਬੁਹੁਸਨਾਕਨਦੇਹੀ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੁਸੀਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
He would use his hawks to prey on water-fouls and distribute lot of wealth among the pretty people.(3)
ਨਿਤਿਪ੍ਰਤਿਅਧਿਕਮ੍ਰਿਗਨਕੌਮਾਰੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਬਹੁਤ ਹਿਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ
ਸਦਾਸੁਬਨਕੇਬੀਚਬਿਹਾਰੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਘੁੰਮਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
Remaining always in the jungle, he used to kill many deer.
ਦੁਹੂਹਾਥਸੌਤੀਰਚਲਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਤਾਤੇਕਹਾਜਾਨਪਸੁਪਾਵੈ॥੪॥
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ (ਭਲਾ) ਕਿਹੜਾ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਬਚ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੪॥
Throwing arrows with both the hands, he would not let any animal escape.(4)
ਏਕਦਿਵਸਨ੍ਰਿਪਅਖਿਟਸਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਡਣ ਗਿਆ
ਕਾਰੋਹਰਿਨਹੇਰਿਲਲਚਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਕਾਲਾ ਹਿਰਨ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਲਲਚਾ ਗਿਆ।
One day when he was on hunting spree, he became rapacious finding a black deer.
ਸੀਂਗਨਤੇਜੀਯਤਗਹਿਲੈਹੌ॥
(ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਿੰਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਫੜ ਲਵਾਂ
ਯਾਕੌਘਾਇਨਲਾਗਨਦੈਹੌ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦਿਆਂ ॥੫॥
He thought, he would catch him alive and inflict no injury on his body.(5)
ਹੇਰਿਹਰਿਨਕਹਤੁਰੈਧਵਾਯੋ॥
ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਘੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾਇਆ
ਪਾਛੋਚਲਿਯੋਤਵਨਕੋਆਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਚਲਦਾ ਆਇਆ।
On seeing him he sprinted his horse and chased him.
ਜਬਪਰਦੇਸਗਯੋਚਲਿਸੋਈ॥
ਜਦ ਉਹ (ਹਿਰਨ) ਪਰਦੇਸ (ਗ਼ੈਰ ਇਲਾਕੇ) ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ,
ਚਾਕਰਤਹਾਨਪਹੂੰਚ੍ਯੋਕੋਈ॥੬॥
ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਨੌਕਰ ਉਥੇ ਨਾ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੬॥
When he entered another territory, no servant was left with him.(6)
ਰਾਜਪ੍ਰਭਾਇਕਰਾਜਦੁਲਾਰੀ॥
(ਉਥੇ) ਰਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਸੀ
ਰਾਜਾਕੋਪ੍ਰਾਨਨਤੇਪ੍ਯਾਰੀ॥
ਜੋ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਸੀ।
There was a princess named Raj Prabha, who loved Raja more than her soul.
ਧੌਲਰਊਚਤਵਨਕੌਰਾਜੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਮਹੱਲ ਸ਼ੋਭਦਾ ਸੀ
ਮਨੋਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾਕੋਲਬਿਰਾਜੈ॥੭॥
ਜੋ ਮਾਨੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਸੀ ॥੭॥
Her sovereign palace would surmount the heights ofthe Moon.(7)
ਤਪਤੀਨਦੀਤੀਰਤਿਹਬਹੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਤਪਤੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਗਦੀ ਸੀ।
ਸੂਰਜਸੁਤਾਤਾਹਿਜਗਕਹੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
An over gushing river used to flow nearby whose name was Jamuna.
ਪੰਛੀਤਹਾਚੁਗਤਅਤਿਸੋਹੈ॥
ਉਥੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਚੁਗਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ੋਭਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਹੇਰਨਿਹਾਰਨਕੋਮਨੁਮੋਹੈ॥੮॥
ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੮॥
Around there, the birds picking up the seeds, always looked charming.(8)
ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾਹਿਝਰੋਖੇਜਹਾ॥
ਜਿਥੇ (ਮਹੱਲ ਦੇ) ਸੁੰਦਰ ਝਰੋਖੇ ਸਨ,
ਕਾਢ੍ਯੋਆਨਿਰਾਇਮ੍ਰਿਗਤਹਾ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਕਢਿਆ।
In the palace, which had beautiful windows, the deer brought the Raja there.
ਤੁਰੈਧਵਾਇਸ੍ਰਮਿਤਤਿਹਕੀਨੋ॥
ਘੋੜਾ ਭਜਾ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਥਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗਨਤੇਸ੍ਰਿੰਗੀਗਹਿਲੀਨੋ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ ॥੯॥
The Raja had made the deer tired and caught it by holding it from the horns.(9)
ਯਹਕੌਤਕਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਾਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਇਹ ਕੌਤਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਯਹੈਆਪਨੇਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
Raj Kumari observed this scene and thought in her mind.
ਮੈਅਬਹੀਇਹਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੌਬਰੌ॥
ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹਾਂਗੀ,
ਨਾਤਰਮਾਰਿਕਟਾਰੀਮਰੌ॥੧੦॥
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਟਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੀ ॥੧੦॥
‘I will marry only this Raja otherwise I will finish myself with a dagger.(10)
ਐਸੀਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਰਾਇਸੌਜੋਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜੋੜ ਲਈ
ਕਾਹੂਪਾਸਜਾਤਨਹਿਤੋਰੀ॥
ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਤੋੜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
She showered such a love that could not be shattered.
ਨੈਨਸੈਨਦੈਤਾਹਿਬਲਾਯੋ॥
ਅੱਖ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
ਮੈਨਭੋਗਤਹਿਸਾਥਕਮਾਯੋ॥੧੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੧੧॥
Through her charming looks, she invited Raja and made love with him.(11)
ਐਸੀਫਬਤਦੁਹੂੰਨਕੀਜੋਰੀ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫਬੀ,
ਜਨੁਕਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨਕਿਸੋਰੀ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ (ਦੀ ਜੋੜੀ) ਹੋਵੇ।
The couple befitted so much that they seemed as the epitome of Krishna and Radha.
ਦੁਹੂੰਹਾਥਤਿਹਕੁਚਨਮਰੋਰੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਚ ਮਰੋੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ
ਜਨੁਖੋਯੋਨਿਧਨੀਧਨੁਟੋਰੈ॥੧੨॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਗਵਾਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਲਭ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੨॥
They honnobbed their hands like a poor man who tried to move his hands searching for his last wealth.(12)
ਬਾਰਬਾਰਤਿਹਗਰੇਲਗਾਵੈ॥
(ਰਾਜਾ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਗਲੇ ਲਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ
ਜਨੁਕੰਦ੍ਰਪਕੋਦ੍ਰਪੁਮਿਟਾਵੈ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਕਾਮਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਮਿਟਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
He cuddled her again and again as if trying to ravage the pride of the Cupid.
ਭੋਗਤਤਾਹਿਜੰਘਲੈਕਾਧੇ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ) ਟੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਢਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਰਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਸੀ)
ਜਨੁਦ੍ਵੈਮੈਨਤਰਕਸਨਬਾਧੇ॥੧੩॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਕਾਮ ਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਭੱਥੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੩॥
Making love by keeping her legs on the shoulder, he looked like the Cupid charging an arrow in the bow.(13)
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਸੌਚੁੰਬਨਕੀਨੇ॥
ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੁੰਬਨ ਕੀਤੇ
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਆਸਨਤ੍ਰਿਯਦੀਨੇ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਆਸਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
He kissed her in many ways and endowed her many types of postures.
ਗਹਿਗਹਿਤਾਸੋਗਰੇਲਗਾਈ॥
ਪਕੜ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੇ ਲਗਾਇਆ
