ਤਬਸਸਿਯਾਅਤਿਚਮਕਿਚਿਤਤਾਕੌਕਿਯੋਉਪਾਇ॥
ਤਦ ਸਸਿਯਾ ਨੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਤਿੜਕ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਪਾ ਕੀਤਾ
Sassi became furious, planned in her heart,
ਸਖੀਜਿਤੀਸ੍ਯਾਨੀਹੁਤੀਤੇਸਭਲਈਬੁਲਾਇ॥੧੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਤਨੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਣੀਆਂ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੮॥
And called her all the sympathetic friends.(18)

ਤਦ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਉਪਾ ਕੀਤਾ
ਜੰਤ੍ਰਮੰਤ੍ਰਕਰਿਲਯੋਬੁਲਾਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਪੁੰਨੂੰ ਨੂੰ) ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
Her friends suggested her remedies and with magical spells summoned the Raja.
ਸਸਿਯਾਸੰਗਪ੍ਰੇਮਅਤਿਭਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਸਸਿਯਾ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
ਪਹਿਲੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਪਰਹਰਿਕਰਿਦਯੋ॥੧੯॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪਹਿਲੀਆਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੯॥
The Raja fell in love with Sassi and abandoned his first Rani.(19)
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਤਾਸੋਰਤਿਮਾਨੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦਾ
ਬਰਸਦਿਵਸਕੋਇਕਦਿਨਜਾਨੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਸਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ।
She commenced enjoying invariable love-makings, and the years passed like the moments.

ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜਾ ਇਤਨਾ ਮਗਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੋਰਾਜਬਿਸਰਿਸਭਗਯੋ॥੨੦॥
ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ (ਕੰਮ) ਭੁਲ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੦॥
Intoxicated in her love, the Raja neglected all his regal duties.(20)

ਇਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ, ਦੂਜੇ ਅਕਲਮੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਜਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ
Firstly, she was youthful, secondly she was clever and thirdly she was easily available,
ਚਹਤਲਗਾਯੋਉਰਨਸੋਛਿਨਕਿਨਛੋਰਿਯੋਜਾਇ॥੨੧॥
(ਉਹ ਸਦਾ) ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਗੀ ਰਹੇ। (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਛਿਣ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਛਡਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੨੧॥
And the Raja was totally engrossed in her love and would never go away.(21)

ਰੈਨਿਦਿਵਸਤਾਸੋਰਤਿਮਾਨੈ॥
(ਸਸਿਯਾ ਵੀ) ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਕੀੜਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨਤੇਪ੍ਯਾਰੋਪਹਿਚਾਨੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਸੀ।
Day and night, she would enjoy with him and appraised him much more than her own life.
ਲਾਗੀਰਹਤਤਵਨਕੇਉਰਸੋ॥
(ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਉਸ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ
ਜੈਸੋਭਾਤਿਮਾਖਿਕਾਗੁਰਸੋ॥੨੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੱਖੀ ਗੁੜ ਨਾਲ (ਚਿਪਕੀ) ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੨॥
She would remain bonded with him, the way flies remain stuck in the sugar-jaggery-balls.(22)

ਲਾਲਕੋਖ੍ਯਾਲਅਨੂਪਮਹੇਰਿਸੁਰੀਝਰਹੀਅਬਲਾਮਨਮਾਹੀ॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੂਪਮ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਦੇ ਆਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੀਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ।
Her lover in her mind, she would feel satiated.
ਛੈਲਨਿਛੈਲਛਕੇਰਸਸੋਦੋਊਹੇਰਿਤਿਨੇਮਨਮੈਬਲਿਜਾਹੀ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ (ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ।
Watching her affection, all, the young and the old, would admire her.
ਕਾਮਕਸੀਸੁਸਸੀਸਸਿਸੀਛਬਿਮੀਤਸੋਨੈਨਮਿਲੇਮੁਸਕਾਹੀ॥
ਕਾਮ ਦੀ ਖਿਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਉਹ ਸੱਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਵਰਗੀ ਚਮਕ ਹੈ, ਮਿਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਨ।ਣ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੇ ਹਸ ਪੈਂਦੀ।
Imbued in the passion of love, Sassi would grace him with smiles.
ਯੌਡਹਕੀਬਹਕੀਛਬਿਯਾਰਪੀਯਾਹੂੰਕੋਪਾਇਪਤੀਜਤਨਾਹੀ॥੨੩॥
ਉਹ (ਸਸਿਯਾ) ਕਮਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਯਾਰ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ॥੨੩॥
She became so mad in fondness for him that she would not feel satiated.(23)

ਜੋਬਨ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਜਾਗ ਪਈ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਉਸ) ਜ਼ਾਲਮ (ਪੁੰਨੂੰ) ਨਾਲ ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਆਰੀ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਚਿਤ ਦੀ ਸੁੱਧ ਬੁੱਧ ਭੁਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
With the power of youth, her passion was roused so much, That the brave-man, even, disregarded the performance of his good deeds.
ਨਿਸਿਦਿਨਲਾਗਿਯੋਰਹਿਤਤਾਸੋਛਬਿਕੀਜ੍ਯੋਂਏਕੈਹ੍ਵੈਗਈਸੁਮਾਨੋਐਸੀਰਾਜਨੀਤਕੀ॥
ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਜ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਰਾਜਾ) ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਗਨ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਇਕਮਿਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Day and night, he drenched himself in her adoration, And it seemed that the sovereignty and love had become synonymous.
ਅਪਨੇਹੀਹਾਥਨਬਨਾਵਤਸਿੰਗਾਰਤਾਕੇਪਾਸਕੀਸਖੀਨਕੀਨਨੈਕਕੁਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਕੀ॥
ਉਸ (ਪੁੰਨੂੰ) ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਲੋੜ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਦੀ।
Witbout the care of her friends and maids, he would, himself, do her make up,
ਅੰਗਲਪਟਾਇਮੁਖੁਚਾਪਿਬਲਿਜਾਇਤਾਕੇਐਸੋਹੀਪਿਯਾਰੀਜਾਨੈਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਸੋਪ੍ਰੀਤਕੀ॥੨੪॥
ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ('ਅੰਗ') ਨਾਲ ਲਿਪਟੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਘੁਟ ਕੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੨੪॥
He would cuddle her through his lips all over her body, And she would respond with great affection and love.(24)

‘His countenance is enticing and his eyes are provocative.
ਬੰਕਬਿਲੌਕਨਿਖਰਚਧਨੁਮੋਮਨਲੀਨੋਮੋਲ॥੨੫॥
ਟੇਢੇ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਮੁਲ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੫॥
‘I will spend all my precious consciousness to allure his love.’(25)

ਰੀਝਰਹੀਅਬਲਾਮਨਮੈਅਤਿਹੀਲਖਿਰੂਪਸਰੂਪਕੀਧਾਨੀ॥
ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ (ਸਸਿਯਾ) ਉਸ ਰੂਪ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
‘All the ladies in distress are feeling elated on observing his grace.
ਸ੍ਰਯਾਨਛੁਟੀਸਿਗਰੀਸਭਕੀਲਖਿਲਾਲਕੋਖਿਯਾਲਭਈਅਤਿਯਾਨੀ॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਭ (ਸਖੀਆਂ) ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਣਜਾਣ ਪੁਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਦਲ ਗਈ।
(The Poet) Siam says, ‘Abandoning all their modesty, the lady-friends get stuck in his looks.
ਲਾਜਤਜੀਸਜਿਸਾਜਸਭੈਲਖਿਹੇਰਿਰਹੀਸਜਨੀਸਭਸ੍ਯਾਨੀ॥
ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਜ-ਸਜਾ ਤੇ ਲਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਣੀਆਂ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
‘I have tried hard to check my mind but it listens not and has sold
ਹੌਮਨਹੋਰਿਰਹੀਨਹਟਿਯੋਬਿਨੁਦਾਮਨਮੀਤਕੇਹਾਥਬਿਕਾਨੀ॥੨੬॥
ਉਹ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਦਾਮ ਦੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਕੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੨੬॥
itself in his hands without monetary gains.’(26)
ਸਸਿਯਾਬਾਚ॥
ਸਸਿਯਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ:
ਅੰਗਸਭੈਬਿਨੁਸੰਗਸਖੀਸਿਵਕੋਅਰਿਆਨਿਅਨੰਗਜਗ੍ਯੋ॥
ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ (ਕਾਮ ਦੇਵ) ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
‘Oh my friend, in his separation, the passion is over powering my whole body.
ਤਬਤੇਨਸੁਹਾਤਕਛੂਮੁਹਿਕੋਸਭਖਾਨਔਪਾਨਸਿਯਾਨਭਗ੍ਰਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਪੀਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
‘Neither I feel like adorning myself nor I want to quench my appetite.
ਝਟਕੌਪਟਕੌਚਿਤਤੇਝਟਦੈਨਛੂਟੇਇਹਭਾਤਿਸੋਨੇਹਲਗ੍ਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ) ਚਿਤ ਤੋਂ ਝਟਕੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪਟਕਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਛੁਟਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
‘In spite oftrying hard to forsake, it cannot be deserted.
ਬਲਿਹੌਜੁਗਈਠਗਕੌਠਗਨੈਠਗਮੈਨਠਗ੍ਯੋਠਗਮੋਹਿਠਗ੍ਯੋ॥੨੭॥
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਾਵਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਜੋ ਠਗ ਨੂੰ ਠਗਣ ਗਈ ਸਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਠਗ ਨੂੰ ਠਗ ਨਾ ਸਕੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਠਗ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਠਗ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੭॥
‘I wanted to apprehend him, but, the swindler, instead, has filched my heart.(27)

(ਮੈਂ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਾਂਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੀਵਾਂਗੀ, ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ, ਇਹੀ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ।
‘I will live by his vision and will not drink even water withont espying him.
ਐਸੋਪ੍ਰਨਲੈਹੌਪਿਯਕਹੈਸੋਈਕਾਜਕੈਹੌਅਤਿਹੀਰਿਝੈਹੌਯਹੈਸਿਛਾਰਾਜਨੀਤਕੀ॥
(ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ) ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਣ ਲਵਾਂਗੀ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਕਹੇਗਾ, ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ, ਇਹੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
‘I will sacrifice my parents, and this is the criteria of my life. ‘I swear to do whatever he asks.
ਜੌਕਹੈਬਕੈਹੌਕਹੈਪਾਨੀਭਰਿਆਨਿਦੈਹੌਹੇਰੇਬਲਿਜੈਹੌਸੁਨਸਖੀਬਾਤਚੀਤਕੀ॥
(ਉਹ) ਜੋ ਕਹੇਗਾ, (ਉਹੀ) ਕਹਾਂਗੀ, ਜੋ ਕਹੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗੀ, (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੀ, ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! (ਮੇਰੇ) ਚਿਤ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਲੈ।
‘I will serve him to the full extent, and that is my only desire. ‘If he asks me to fetch a glass of water, I will do that. ‘Listen my friends; I am a sacrifice to his elocution.
ਲਗਨਨਿਗੌਡੀਲਾਗੀਜਾਤੈਨੀਦਭੂਖਿਭਾਗੀਪ੍ਯਾਰੋਮੀਤਮੇਰੋਹੋਪਿਯਾਰੀਅਤਿਮੀਤਕੀ॥੨੮॥
(ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਭੈੜੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਲਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਨੀਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਭੁਖ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। (ਉਹ) ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਮਿਤਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਮੈਂ ਉਸ) ਮਿਤਰ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਹਾਂ ॥੨੮॥
‘Since my attachment with him, I have lost all my appetite as well as sleep ‘I am all for my lover and my lover is all for me.’(28)

(ਅਤੇ ਸੋਚਣ ਲਗੀ ਕਿ) ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਆਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਈ ਹਾਂ।
All this talk reached the ears of the woman who was the first one to com (as his first wife).
ਯਾਸੌਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਸੁਨਤਰਿਸਿਭਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਈ
ਮਸਲਤਜੋਰਿਸੂਰਨਿਜੁਕਰੀ॥੨੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੨੯॥
Once she had listened to his sweet talks but now she called a few confidant to consult.(29)
ਜਨਮੇਕੁਅਰਿਬਾਪਕੇਰਹੀ॥
(ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝਾਂਗੀ ਕਿ) ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਹੀ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਹ੍ਵੈਬੇਰਕਤਮੇਖਲਾਗਹੀ॥
(ਜਾਂ) ਬੈਰਾਗਣ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਗੋਦੜੀ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂਗੀ।
‘I will go and live at my parents where I was born, may be I will have to live as a destitute.
ਘਾਤਆਪਣੇਪਤਕੋਕਰਿਹੋ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ
ਸੁਤਕੇਛਤ੍ਰਸੀਸਪਰਧਰਿਹੋ॥੩੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਧਰਾਂਗੀ ॥੩੦॥
‘Or I may kill my husband and pUt my son on the throne.(30)
ਜਨੁਗ੍ਰਿਹਛੋਰਿਤੀਰਥਨਗਈ॥
ਜਾਂ ਘਰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੀ
ਮਾਨਹੁਰਹਤਚੰਦ੍ਰਬ੍ਰਤਭਈ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਬ੍ਰਤ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
‘Perhaps I might abandon my home and may go on pilgrimage after taking a vow ofChander Brat (Moon-fasting).
ਯਾਸੁਹਾਗਤੇਰਾਡੈਨੀਕੀ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਇਸ ਸੁਹਾਗ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਯਾਕੀਲਗਤਰਾਜੇਸ੍ਵਰਿਫੀਕੀ॥੩੧॥
ਇਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ-ਐਸ਼ਵਰਜ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫਿਕਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੧॥
‘Or, perhaps I will remain a widow whole life as his company is now irritating.(31)

ਖਿਲਤਅਖੇਟਕਜੋਹਨੈਹਮਰੇਪਤਿਕੋਕੋਇ॥
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਡਦਿਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇ,
‘When some one would kill my husband during hunting,
ਤੋਸੁਨਿਕੈਸਸਿਯਾਮਰੇਜਿਯਤਨਬਚਿਹੈਸੋਇ॥੩੨॥
ਤਾਂ ਸਸਿਯਾ ਵੀ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਏਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੀਉਂਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚੇਗੀ ॥੩੨॥
‘Then, on hearing this, Sassi Kala will not remain alive and would kill herself.’(32)

ਬੈਠਮੰਤ੍ਰਤਿਨਯਹੈਪਕਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ
ਅਮਿਤਦਰਬੁਦੈਦੂਤਪਠਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਦੂਤ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ।
He (the confidant) sat down to discuss as he was to be rewarded for his plan,
ਖਿਲਤਅਖੇਟਕਰਾਵਜਬੈਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਿ) ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ
ਤਬਮੇਰੋਉਰਮੈਸਰਖੈਹੈ॥੩੩॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਾਣ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਖੁਭੇਗਾ ॥੩੩॥
‘When Raja will be busy in hunting, my arrow will pierce through his chest.’(33)
ਤਾਕੋਕਾਲੁਨਿਕਟਜਬਆਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਪੁੰਨੂੰ ਦਾ ਕਾਲ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ
ਪੁੰਨੂਸਾਹਸਿਕਾਰਸਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।
In due course of time, Raja Punnu marched out for hunting.
ਜਬਗਹਿਰੇਬਨਬੀਚਸਿਧਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਦ (ਉਹ) ਸੰਘਣੇ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ
ਤਨਿਧਨੁਬਾਨਸਤ੍ਰੁਤਬਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥੩੪॥
ਤਾਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥੩੪॥
When he approached the dense jungle, the enemy threw arrows on him.(34)
