ਜੋਹੌਕਛੂਮੁਹੰਮਦਹਿਮੁਖਤੈਕਾਢੋਗਾਰਿ॥
(ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਗਾਲ੍ਹ ਕਢਦੀ
‘Had we committed perjury against the prophet,
ਤੋਮੈਆਪਨਆਪਹੀਮਰੋਕਟਾਰੀਮਾਰਿ॥੭॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕਟਾਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੭॥
We would have killed ourselves with daggers too.(7)

ਤੈਨਹਿਕਛੂਨਬੀਕੋਕਹਿਯੋ॥
(ਮੁਲਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਤੂੰ ਨੱਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਧਨਕੇਹੇਤਤੋਹਿਹਮਗਹਿਯੋ॥
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਧਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੀ ਘੇਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
‘You have not said anything against the Prophet, we have devised this to squeeze your money.
ਅਧਿਕਦਰਬੁਅਬਹੀਮੁਹਿਦੀਜੈ॥
ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਓ,
ਨਾਤਰਮੀਚਮੂੰਡਿਪੈਲੀਜੈ॥੮॥
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਆਈ ਸਮਝੋ ॥੮॥
‘Now give us lot of wealth otherwise we will kill you.’(8)

ਹਮਬਹੁਲੋਗਪਿਸੌਰਕੇਇਨੀਤੁਹਮਤਨਸਾਥ॥
ਅਸਾਂ ਪਿਸ਼ੌਰ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੋਹਮਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ
‘We have already blamed like this many people in the city of Peshawar,
ਧਨੀਕਰੈਨਿਧਨੀਘਨੇਹ੍ਵੈਹ੍ਵੈਗਏਅਨਾਥ॥੯॥
ਧਨਵਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਧਨਹੀਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਨਾਥ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੯॥
‘And turned them into paupers.’(9)

ਯੌਸੁਨਿਬਚਨਪਯਾਦਨੁਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਜਦੋਂ) ਪਿਆਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਲਏ,
ਵੇਈਸਭਝੂਠੇਠਹਿਰਾਯੋ॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ।
The spies, who were listening to all that, labelled them as liars.
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਤੇਨਿਕਸਿਤਿਨੈਗਹਿਲੀਨੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੋਂ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ
ਸਭਹਿਨਕੀਮੁਸਕੈਕਸਿਦੀਨੋ॥੧੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਕਸ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ॥੧੦॥
They took them out of the house and tied them up.(10)

ਲਾਤਮੁਸਟਕੁਰਰੇਘਨੇਬਰਸੀਪਨ੍ਰਹੀਅਪਾਰ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਲਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਲਤਾਂ, ਮੁੱਕੇ, ਕੋਰੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੁਤੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ।
They were beaten with fists and shoes,
ਦੈਮੁਸਕਨਕੌਲੈਚਲੇਹੇਰਤੁਲੋਕਹਜਾਰ॥੧੧॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਗੇ ॥੧੧॥
And, tied up, they were taken out in the streets.(11)

ਤਿਨਕੋਬਾਧਿਲੈਗਏਤਹਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਥੇ ਲੈ ਗਏ
ਖਾਨਮੁਹਬਤਿਬੈਠੋਜਹਾ॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਮੁਹੱਬਤ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਬੈਠਾ ਸੀ।
They dragged them to the place where Mohabat Khan was seated.
ਪਨਹਿਨਮਾਰਿਨਵਾਬਦਿਲਾਈ॥
ਨਵਾਬ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ) ਜੁਤੀਆਂ ਮਰਵਾਈਆਂ
ਤੋਬਹਤੋਬਹਕਰੈਖੁਦਾਈ॥੧੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੁਲਾਣੇ ਤੋਬਾ ਤੋਬਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਗੇ ॥੧੨॥
Through the woman, Khan got them beaten and then they expressed their regrets.(l2)
ਪਨਹਿਨਕੇਮਾਰਤਮਰਿਗਏ॥
ਜੁਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਏ।
ਤਬਵੈਡਾਰਿਨਦੀਮੈਦਏ॥
ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਟਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
They died through the beatings with the shoes and were thrown into the stream.
ਚੁਪਹ੍ਵੈਰਹੇਤੁਰਕਸਭਸੋਊ॥
ਇਸ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੁਰਕ ਚੁਪ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਤਬਤੇਤੁਹਮਤਿਦੇਤਨਕੋਊ॥੧੩॥
ਤਦ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਤੋਹਮਤ ਨਾ ਲਗਾਈ ॥੧੩॥
This made all the Muslims to become peaceful and no body was ever set with the blame.(13)

ਤਬਤਿਨਬਿਪਬੁਲਾਇਕੈਦੀਨੋਦਾਨਅਪਾਰ॥
ਤਦ (ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ) ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Then she invited the Brahmin Priests and showered with bounty.
ਛਲਕੈਕੈਜੂਤਿਨਭਏਬੀਸਖੁਦਾਈਮਾਰ॥੧੪॥
ਇਸ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਵੀਹ ਮੁਲਾਣਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੁਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੪॥
Through such an Chritar the woman got Muslim priests beaten with shoes.(14)

ਚੁਪਤਬਤੇਹ੍ਵੈਰਹੇਖੁਦਾਈ॥
ਤਦ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਲਾਣੇ ਚੁਪ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ।
ਕਾਹੂਸਾਥਨਰਾਰਿਬਢਾਈ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਾ ਨਾ ਵਧਾਇਆ।
Since then the Muslim priests attained patience and never indulged in bickering.
ਸੋਈਕਰੈਜੁਹਿੰਦੂਕਹੈ॥
ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ
ਤੁਹਮਤਿਦੈਕਾਹੂੰਨਗਹੈ॥੧੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੋਹਮਤ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ॥੧੫॥
They performed according to the wishes of the Hindus and never blamed any body falsely.(l5)(1)

ਰੋਪਰਰਾਵਰੁਪੇਸ੍ਵਰਭਾਰੋ॥
ਰੋਪੜ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਰੂਪੇਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ।
ਰਘੁਕੁਲਬੀਚਅਧਿਕਉਜਿਯਾਰੋ॥
ਉਹ ਰਘੂਕੁਲ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੀ।
In the city of Ropar, there lived a magnanimous Raja called
ਚਿਤ੍ਰਕੁਅਰਿਰਾਨੀਇਕਤਾਕੇ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਰਾਣੀ ਸੀ।
ਰੂਪਵਤੀਕੋਊਤੁਲਿਨਵਾਕੇ॥੧॥
ਕੋਈ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
Roopeshwar. Chittar Kunwar was one of his Ranis; there was none as beautiful as she in the world.(1)
ਦਾਨਵਏਕਲੰਕਤੇਆਯੋ॥
ਲੰਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਦੈਂਤ ਆਇਆ
ਤਾਕੋਰੂਪਿਹੇਰਿਉਰਝਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਫਸ ਗਿਆ।
A Devil came from (the country of) Lanka, who was enchanted with her beauty,
ਮਨਮੈਅਧਿਕਰੀਝਿਕਰਿਗਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਤਾਕੋਲਗਾਨਤਜਿਤਹਿਦਯੋ॥੨॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਿਆ ਕਿ (ਉਹ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
He fell for her and he felt that he would not survive without her.(2)
ਤਬਤਿਨਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਅਧਿਕਬੁਲਾਏ॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਬੁਲਾਏ
ਅਨਿਕਭਾਤਿਉਪਚਾਰਕਰਾਏ॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਚਾਰ ਕਰਵਾਏ।
He called a number of mendicants and got them to perform some charms.
ਤਹਾਏਕਮੁਲਾਚਲਿਆਯੋ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਮੁੱਲਾ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ।
ਆਨਿਆਪਨਾਓਜੁਜਨਾਯੋ॥੩॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
A Maulana (Muslim priest) came there too and performed some incantation.(3)
ਤਬਤਿਨਘਾਤਦਾਨਵਹਿਪਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮੌਕਾ ਲਗਿਆ।
ਏਕਹਾਥਸੌਮਹਲਉਚਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਮਹੱਲ ਚੁਕ ਲਿਆ
When the Devil got an opportunity, he picked the palace on his one
ਦੁਤਿਯਹਾਥਤਾਕੌਗਹਿਲੀਨੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ (ਮੁੱਲਾ) ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ
ਤਵਨਛਾਤਭੀਤਰਧਰਿਦੀਨੋ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛਤ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪॥
Hand and with the other he pushed him (Maulana) in.( 4)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਧਰਿਯੋਥੰਭਊਪਰਤਿਸੈਇਕਕਰਛਾਤਉਠਾਇ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਛਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਠਾ ਕੇ ਥੰਮ ਉਪਰ ਧਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
He pushed the ceiling up and put him on top of one pillar,
ਮਾਰਿਮੁਲਾਨਾਕੋਦਯੋਜਮਕੇਧਾਮਪਠਾਇ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੁਲਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਜਮਲੋਕ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੫॥
And thus killed Maulana and despatched him to the domain of death.(5)

ਤਹਇਕਔਰਮੁਲਾਨੋਆਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਮੁਲਾਣਾ ਆਇਆ।
ਸੋਊਪਕਰਿਟਾਗਪਟਕਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੱਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜਵਾ ਕੇ ਪਕਟਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Then came another Maulana. Holding him through his legs he struck him down.
ਤੀਜੌਔਰਆਇਤਹਗਯੋ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਤੀਜਾ ਮੁਲਾਣਾ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਸੋਊਡਾਰਿਨਦੀਮੈਦਯੋ॥੬॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੬॥
The third one came too, which he threw in the river.(6)
ਤਬਿਇਕਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਤਹਾਚਲਿਆਈ॥
ਤਦ ਇਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਉਥੇ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਆਈ।
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਤਿਹਕਰੀਬਡਾਈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ।
A woman came there and repeatedly praised him.
ਲੇਹਜਪੇਹਜਬਹੁਤਾਹਿਖਵਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਨੂੰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰਵਾਏ
ਮਦਰੋਪ੍ਰਯਾਇਤਾਹਿਰਿਝਵਾਯੋ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪਿਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੭॥
With dainty food and wine she appeased the Devil.(7)
ਤਾਕੇਨਿਤਿਬੁਹਾਰੀਦੇਵੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਘਰ) ਉਹ ਰੋਜ਼ ਬੁਹਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ
ਤਾਕੋਚਿਤਚੁਰਾਇਕੈਲੇਵੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਚੁਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਸੀ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਸੀ)।
She would come there for sweeping every day and comfort him.
ਇਕਦਿਨਹੋਇਬਿਮਨਸੀਰਹੀ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਬੇਮਨੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਈ।
ਤਬਐਸੇਦਾਨੋਤਿਹਕਹੀ॥੮॥
ਤਦ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੮॥
One day when she was sitting depressed, the devil inquired.(8)
ਖਾਤਪੀਤਹਮਰੋਤੂੰਨਾਹੀ॥
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਕੁਝ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਪੀਂਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ
ਸੇਵਾਕਰਤਰਹਤਗ੍ਰਿਹਮਾਹੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ।
‘In our house, you do not eat or drink and just keep on serving us.
