ਅਤੇ ਗੌਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਪਰਤਾਂਗੀ ॥੧੧॥

ਜੋਕੋਊਹਮਰੌਹਿਤੂਤਹਮਿਲਿਯੋਮੁਹਿਆਇ॥
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਤੂ (ਮਿਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੇ।
“If any of my lovers wanted to meet me, should come there.”
ਭੇਦਰਾਵਕਛੁਨਲਹਿਯੋਮੀਤਹਿਗਈਜਤਾਇ॥੧੨॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਭੇਦ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ, ਪਰ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਭੇਦ ਸਮਝਾ ਗਈ ॥੧੨॥
Raja could not resolve the mystery but the lover grasped.(l2)

ਰਾਨੀਪਛਾਨੀਕਿਮੰਦਰਕੇਪਿਛਵਾਰੇਹੈਮੇਰੋਖਰੋਸੁਖਦਾਈ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਵਾੜੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ (ਮਿਤਰ) ਖੜੋਤਾ ਹੈ।
Rani acknowledged that her benefactor was present at the back of the temple.
ਚਾਹਤਬਾਤਕਹਿਯੋਸਕੁਚੈਤਬਕੀਨੀਹੈਬੈਨਨਿਮੈਚਤੁਰਾਈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤਦ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਬੋਲਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਚਾਲਾਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
He wanted to talk to her but he was hesitant.
ਪੂਛਿਸਖੀਅਪਨੀਮਿਸਹੀਉਤਪ੍ਯਾਰੇਕੋਐਸੀਸਹੇਟਬਤਾਈ॥
ਆਪਣੀ ਸਖੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਛ ਕੇ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਦਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ
Through her maid she told him the place where she would be waiting
ਸਾਥਚਲੌਗੀਹੌਕਾਲਿਚਲੌਗੀਮੈਦੇਬੀਕੌਦੇਹੁਰੋਪੂਜਨਮਾਈ॥੧੩॥
ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਲ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਹੁਰੇ ਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੀ ॥੧੩॥
(For him) next day after the prayer.(13)

ਯੌਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੋਕਹਿਪ੍ਰਗਟਸੁਨਾਈ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਦਸਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ,
ਮੀਤਹਿਉਤੈਸਹੇਟਬਤਾਈ॥
ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਵੀ ਦਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ
Without keeping Raja in dark, she had conveyed the meeting place to the friend saying,
ਭਵਨਭਵਾਨੀਕੇਮੈਜੈਹੋ॥
ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੀ
ਪੂਜਿਮੰਗਲਾਕੋਫਿਰਿਐਹੋ॥੧੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੰਗਲਾ (ਦੇਵੀ) ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਘਰ ਆਵਾਂਗੀ ॥੧੪॥
‘I will go there for Bhawani’s prayers and then, after that I will be at that place.(l4)

ਜੋਕੋਊਹਮਰੋਹਿਤੂਤਹਮਿਲਿਯੋਮੁਹਿਆਇ॥
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਤੂ ਹੋਵੇ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੇ।
‘Who-so-ever is my lover, may come and meet me there.’
ਭੇਦਕਛੂਨ੍ਰਿਪਨਲਖਿਯੋਮੀਤਹਿਗਈਜਤਾਇ॥੧੫॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਭੇਦ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ, ਪਰ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦਸ ਗਈ ॥੧੫॥
She conveyed the message to the lover, But Raja could not comprehend.(l5)
ਯੌਕਹਿਕੈਰਾਨੀਉਠੀਕਰਿਯੋਮੀਤਗ੍ਰਿਹਗੌਨ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਣੀ ਉਠੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਲ ਚਲ ਪਈ।
Communicating like this, the Rani went to the place where lover was,
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਪ੍ਰਫੁਲਿਤਚਿਤਭਯੋਗਈਸਿਵਾਕੇਭੌਨ॥੧੬॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ (ਉਹ) ਸ਼ਿਵਾ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥
But the Raja was happy that she had gone to offer the prayers.(l6)(1)

ਮਾਝਾਦੇਸਜਾਟਇਕਰਹੈ॥
ਮਾਝਾ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਜੱਟ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ
ਕਾਜਕ੍ਰਿਸਾਨੀਕੋਨਿਰਬਹੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
In the country of Majha, a man of Jat clan used to hve. He earned his living by farming.
ਰੈਨਿਦਿਨਾਖੇਤਨਮੈਰਹਈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਰਾਮਸੀਹਨਾਮਾਜਗਕਹਈ॥੧॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
Day in and day out, he kept himself busy in his farm; he was known in the world by the name of Ram Singh.(1)
ਰਾਧਾਨਾਮਨਾਰਿਗ੍ਰਿਹਤਾਕੇ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਰਾਧਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।
ਕਛੂਨਲਾਜਰਹਤਤਨਵਾਕੇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਹੱਯਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
In his household, he had a woman called Radha; she lacked chastity in her manners.
ਨਿਤਉਠਿਬਾਗਵਾਨਪੈਜਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਨਿੱਤ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਬਾਗ਼ਬਾਨ (ਮਾਲੀ) ਕੋਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ
ਭੋਗਕਮਾਇਬਹੁਰਿਗ੍ਰਿਹਆਵੈ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਭੋਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਘਰ ਪਰਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ॥੨॥
She would daily go to a gardener and come back after making love with him.(2)
ਲੈਸਤੂਆਪਤਿਓਰਸਿਧਾਈ॥
ਉਹ ਸਤੂ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਜਦ) ਪਤੀ ਵਲ ਗਈ,
ਚਲੀਚਲੀਮਾਲੀਪਹਿਆਈ॥
ਤਾਂ ਚਲਦੀ ਚਲਦੀ (ਉਸ) ਮਾਲੀ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਗਈ।
When she was bringing the barley-meal for her husband, she came across the gardener.
ਬਸਤ੍ਰਛੋਰਿਕੈਭੋਗਕਮਾਯੋ॥
ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਛਡ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਤਿਹਸਤੂਆਕੀਕਰੀਬਨਾਯੋ॥੩॥
(ਉਥੇ ਮਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੋਟਲੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਉਹ ਸਤੂ (ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ) ਹਾਥੀ ('ਕਰੀ') ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩॥
Taking her clothes off, she made love with him and, then, (on reaching home) she cooked barley-meal.(3)

ਸਤੂਅਨਕਰੀਬਨਾਇਕੈਤਾਮੈਬਧ੍ਯੋਬਨਾਇ॥
ਸਤੂ ਦਾ ਹਾਥੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
After making the curry of barley she placed in it a statue carved out flour dough.
ਸਤੂਆਹੀਸੋਜਾਨਿਯੈਕਰੀਨਚੀਨ੍ਯੋਜਾਇ॥੪॥
ਉਹ ਸਤੂ ਹੀ ਲਗਦਾ ਸੀ, ਹਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਲਗਦਾ ॥੪॥
It looked like barley-meal and could not be taken as curry.( 4)

ਭੋਗਕਰਤਭਾਮਿਨਿਸੁਖਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਭੋਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ
ਜਾਮਿਕਤਾਸੌਕੇਲਕਮਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਪਹਿਰ ਤਕ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
She had felt blessful after enacting the lovemaking and seeking the enjoyment.
ਮਾਲੀਕੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਤੇਜਬਆਈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਆਈ
ਬਸਤ੍ਰਆਪਨੋਲਯੋਉਠਾਈ॥੫॥
ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਵੀ ਉਠਾ ਲਿਆਈ ॥੫॥
When she had returned from the gardener’s house, she fully adorned her clothes.(5)
ਲੈਸਤੂਆਨਿਜੁਪਤਿਪਹਿਗਈ॥
ਉਹ ਸਤੂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਕੋਲ ਗਈ
ਛੋਰਤਬਸਤ੍ਰਹੇਤਤਿਹਭਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਲਈ (ਸਤੂ ਵਾਲੇ) ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲਣ ਲਗੀ।
Whe she offered barely-meal to her husband, abandoning the clothes, she wrapped herself around him
ਹਾਥੀਹੇਰਿਚੌਕਜੜਰਹਿਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਡਰ ਗਿਆ।
ਤੁਰਤਬਚਨਤਬਹੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹਿਯੋ॥੬॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੬॥
‘Seeing the elephant, I was dreaded.’ she immediately vocalised to her husband. (6)
ਸੋਵਤਹੁਤੀਸੁਪਨਮੁਹਿਆਯੋ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਸੁੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ
ਕਰੀਮਤਪਾਛੈਤਵਧਾਯੋ॥
ਕਿ ਮਸਤ ਹਾਥੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
’I was in deep slumber, when I saw an elephant charging after you.
ਮੈਡਰਿਪੰਡਿਤਲਯੋਬੁਲਾਈ॥
ਮੈਂ ਡਰ ਕੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ।
