ਚਾਮਰੰਗਕੇਦੇਸਮੈਇੰਦ੍ਰਸਿੰਘਥੋਨਾਥ॥
ਚਾਮਰੰਗ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ।
In the country of Cham rang, Inder Singh was the Raja.
ਸਕਲਸੈਨਚਤੁਰੰਗਨੀਅਮਿਤਚੜਤਤਿਹਸਾਥ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੀ ਅਮਿਤ ਚਤੁਰੰਗਨੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
He possessed an army, which was adept in all the four traits.(1)
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਕਲਾਤਾਕੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਜਾਸਮਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਨਕੋਇ॥
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਕਲਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਰਗੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
Chandra Kala was his wife; there was none like her.
ਜੋਵਹੁਚਾਹੈਸੋਕਰੈਜੋਭਾਖੈਸੋਹੋਇ॥੨॥
ਉਹ ਜੋ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ, ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ, ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੨॥
She would act whatever the way she liked.(2)

ਸੁੰਦਰਿਏਕਸਖੀਤਹਰਹੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੀ।
ਤਾਸੌਨੇਹਰਾਵਨਿਰਬਹੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜਾ ਸਨੇਹ ਰਖਦਾ ਸੀ।
She had a pretty maid, with whom Raja fell in love.
ਰਾਨੀਅਧਿਕਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਮੈਜਰਈ॥
ਰਾਣੀ (ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੜਦੀ ਸੀ
ਯਾਸੋਪ੍ਰੀਤਅਧਿਕਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਰਈ॥੩॥
ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
Rani was jealous, ‘Why Raja is fond of her?’(3)
ਗਾਧੀਇਕਖਤ੍ਰੀਤਹਭਾਰੋ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਅੱਤਾਰ ('ਗਾਂਧੀ') ਖਤ੍ਰੀ
ਫਤਹਚੰਦਨਾਮਾਉਜਿਯਾਰੋ॥
ਫਤੇ ਚੰਦ ਨਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
There used to live an essence-seller whose name was Fateh Chand.
ਸੋਤਿਨਚੇਰੀਬੋਲਿਪਠਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾਸੀ ਨੇ ਬੁਲਵਾ ਲਿਆ
ਕਾਮਕੇਲਤਿਹਸਾਥਕਮਾਯੋ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੪॥
That maid called him and made love with him.(4)
ਭੋਗਕਮਾਤਗਰਭਰਹਿਗਯੋ॥
ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਰੂਪ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਰਭ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
By making love, she became pregnant, and she accused,
ਚੇਰੀਦੋਸੁਰਾਵਸਿਰਦਯੋ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਦੋਸ਼ ਦਾਸੀ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਮੜ੍ਹਿਆ।
‘The Raja had sex with me and, as a consequent of this, a Son is born.’
ਰਾਜਾਮੋਸੌਭੋਗਕਮਾਯੋ॥
(ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
By making love she had become pregnant, and for that she blamed Raja.
ਤਾਤੇਪੂਤਸਪੂਤੁਉਪਜਾਯੋ॥੫॥
ਤਾਂ ਤੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਸੁਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
She stressed, ‘Raja made love with me and that is how my son is born.’(5)
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਇਹਭੇਦਲਹਿਯੋਚੁਪਿਰਹਿਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਇਹ ਭੇਦ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਚੁਪ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਤਾਸੌਪ੍ਰਗਟਨਮੁਖਤੇਕਹਿਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਕਿਹਾ।
When Raja learned this he did not comment, thinking,
ਮੈਯਾਸੋਨਹਿਭੋਗੁਕਮਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਚੇਰੀਪੁਤ੍ਰਕਹਾਤੇਪਾਯੋ॥੬॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਇਸ ਦਾਸੀ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
‘I have never maid love with the maid, then, how did she becotne pregnant.’(6)

ਫਤਹਚੰਦਕੋਨਾਮੁਲੈਚੇਰੀਲਈਬੁਲਾਇ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਫਤੇ ਚੰਦ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦਾਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
He called her pretending to be Fateh Chand,
ਮਾਰਿਆਪਨੇਹਾਥਹੀਗਡਹੇਦਈਗਡਾਇ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ ਦਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੭॥
He killed her and buried her in the ground.(7)(1)

ਭੁਟੰਤ ਦਾ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ
In the Country of Bhutan, there was one Raja named Chander Singh.
ਪੂਜਾਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਨਾਥਕੀਕਰਤਆਠਹੂੰਜਾਮ॥੧॥
ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਨਾਥ ਦੀ ਅਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
All the eight watches of the day he used to pray to god, Jadoo Nath.

ਚੰਦ੍ਰਪ੍ਰਭਾਤਾਕੇਤ੍ਰਿਯਘਰਮੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ (ਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।
ਕੋਬਿਦਸਭਹੀਰਹਤਹੁਨਰਮੈ॥
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਸੀ।
He had a woman named Chandra Prabha in his house; all the poets used to praise her.
ਤਾਕੋਹੇਰਿਨਿਤ੍ਯਨ੍ਰਿਪਜੀਵੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਤ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਤਿਹਹੇਰੇਬਿਨੁਪਾਨਿਨਪੀਪਵੈ॥੨॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੨॥
Raja virtually lived by dint of her company, and, without seeing her, he would not drink, even, water.(2)
ਏਕਭੁਟੰਤੀਸੌਵਹੁਅਟਕੀ॥
ਉਹ ਇਕ ਭੁਟੰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਟਕ ਗਈ।
ਭੂਲਿਗਈਸਭਹੀਸੁਧਿਘਟਕੀ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੁੱਧ ਬੁੱਧ ਭੁਲ ਗਈ।
A Bhutani (man) had a stint over her, and she lost all her perception.
ਰਾਤਿਦਿਵਸਤਿਹਬੋਲਿਪਠਾਵੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਬੁਲਵਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ
ਕਾਮਕਲਾਤਿਹਸੰਗਕਮਾਵੈ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਦੀ ॥੩॥
Day in and day out, she would call him and would indulge in making love.(3)
ਭੋਗਕਮਾਤਰਾਵਗ੍ਰਿਹਆਯੋ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਭੋਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਤਾਕੋਰਾਨੀਤੁਰਤਛਪਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ (ਭੁਟੰਤੀ ਨੂੰ) ਤੁਰਤ ਛੁਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When they were having sex, the Raja appeared and the Rani instantly hid him.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿਅਧਿਕਮਦਆਨਿਪਿਯਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਣ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਕਰਿਕੈਮਤਖਾਟਪਰਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਸਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪॥
She made Raja to drink lot of wine, and, when he passed out, she put him in the bed.

ਤਾਕੋਖਲਰੀਸ੍ਵਾਨਕੀਲਈਤੁਰਤਪਹਿਰਾਈ॥
ਉਸ (ਭੁਟੰਤੀ) ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰਤ ਕੁੱਤੇ ਦੀ ਖਲ੍ਹ ਪਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ
She had disguised him under the hide of a dog and,
ਰਾਜਾਜੂਕੇਦੇਖਤੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੌਦਯੋਪਠਾਇ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਘਰ ਵਲ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੫॥
While Raja was watching, she asked him to go away.(5)
