ਏਕਗਏਕੁਮਲਾਇਪਰਾਇਕੈਏਕਨਕੋਧਰਕਿਓਤਨਿਹੀਆ॥
(ਇਹ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਇਕ ਤਾਂ ਘਬਰਾ ਕੇ ਨਸ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਦਿਲ ਧੜਕਨ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ।
Seeing this and shriveling, some of the demons, being perturbed, have run away, with great heart-beat.,
ਚੰਡਕੇਬਾਨਕਿਧੋਕਰਭਾਨਹਿਦੇਖਿਕੈਦੈਤਗਈਦੁਤਿਦੀਆ॥੧੫੦॥
ਚੰਡੀ ਦੇ ਤੀਰ ਹਨ ਅਥਵਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਰਨਾਂ ਹਨ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੀਵਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੦॥
Are the arrow of Chadi like the rays of the sun?, seeing which the light of the demon-lamp hath become dim.150.,
ਲੈਕਰਮੈਅਸਿਕੋਪਭਈਅਤਿਧਾਰਮਹਾਬਲਕੋਰਨਪਾਰਿਓ॥
(ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਬਲ ਸਹਿਤ ਘੋਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ।
Holding her sword in her hand, she grew furious and with great force, waged a terrible war.,
ਦਉਰਕੈਠਉਰਹਤੇਬਹੁਦਾਨਵਏਕਗਇੰਦ੍ਰਬਡੋਰਨਿਮਾਰਿਓ॥
ਆਪਣੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਗੇ ਵੱਧ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰਿਆ।
Moving swiftly from her place, she killed many demons and destroyed a very big elephant in the battlefield.,
ਕਉਤਕਿਤਾਛਬਿਕੋਰਨਪੇਖਿਤਬੈਕਬਿਇਉਮਨਮਧਿਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ॥
ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਕੌਤਕ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤਦ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਜ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ
Seeing that elegant in the battlefield, the poet imagines,
ਸਾਗਰਬਾਂਧਨਕੇਸਮਏਨਲਮਾਨੋਪਹਾਰਉਖਾਰਕੇਡਾਰਿਓ॥੧੫੧॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਮਾਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਲ ਨੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਪੁਟ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੧॥
That in order to construct the bridge on the sea, Nal and Neel have thrown the mountain after uprooting it. 151.,

ਜਦੋਂ (ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੀ) ਫ਼ੌਜ ਮਾਰ ਲਈ, ਤਦੋਂ (ਰਕਤ-ਬੀਜ) ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ
When his army was killed by Chandi, Raktavija did this:,
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰਕਰਿਚੰਡਿਕੇਬਧਿਬੇਕੋਮਨਦੀਨ॥੧੫੨॥
ਕਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦਾ (ਖਿਆਲ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ॥੧੫੨॥
He equipped himself with his weapons and thought of killing the goddess in his mind.152.,

ਬਾਹਨਿਸਿੰਘਭਇਆਨਕਰੂਪਲਖਿਓਸਭਦੈਤਮਹਾਡਰਪਾਇਓ॥
ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੀ ਸਵਾਰ (ਚੰਡੀ) ਦਾ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਰੂਪ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ।
Seeing the dreadful form of Chandi (whose vehicle is the lion). All the demons were filled with awe.,
ਸੰਖਲੀਏਕਰਿਚਕ੍ਰਅਉਬਕ੍ਰਸਰਾਸਨਪਤ੍ਰਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਬਨਾਇਓ॥
(ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਖ ਅਤੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਟੇਢੀ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਉਤੇ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੀਰ (ਪਤ੍ਰ) ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
She manifested herself in queer form, holding the conch, disc and bow in her hand.,
ਧਾਇਭੁਜਾਬਲਆਪਨਹ੍ਵੈਹਮਸੋਤਿਨਯੌਅਤਿਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਇਓ॥
ਰਕਤ-ਬੀਜ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਗੇ ਵਧਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਚੰਡੀ ਨੂੰ) ਇੰਜ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਲ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ।
Rasktavija moved forward and knowing his superb strength, he challenged the goddess for a fight.,
ਕ੍ਰੋਧਕੈਸ੍ਰਉਣਤਬਿੰਦਕਹੈਰਨਿਇਆਹੀਤੇਚੰਡਿਕਾਨਾਮਕਹਾਇਓ॥੧੫੩॥
(ਅਗੋਂ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਉਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ) ਇਸੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤਾਂ (ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ) ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੩॥
And said, “Thou has named thyself as Chandika come forward to fight with me.”153.,
ਮਾਰਿਲਇਓਦਲਿਅਉਰਭਜਿਓਤਬਕੋਪਕੇਆਪਨਹੀਸੁਭਿਰਿਓਹੈ॥
(ਜਦੋਂ ਰਕਤ-ਬੀਜ ਦਾ) ਦਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਬਾਕੀ ਦਾ) ਭਜ ਗਿਆ ਤਦੋਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਚੰਡੀ ਨਾਲ) ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਗਿਆ।
When the army of Raktavija was was destroyed or ran away, then in great fury, he himself came forward to fight.,
ਚੰਡਿਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਿਸੋਜੁਧੁਕਰਿਓਅਸਿਹਾਥਿਛੁਟਿਓਮਨਨਾਹਿਗਿਰਿਓਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਚੰਡੀ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ) ਤਲਵਾਰ ਛੁੱਟ ਗਈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਬਲ ਨਾ ਡਿਗਿਆ।
He fought a very fierce battle with Chandika and (while fighting) his sword fell down from his hand, but he did not lose heart.,
ਲੈਕੇਕੁਵੰਡਕਰੰਬਲਧਾਰਕੈਸ੍ਰੋਨਸਮੂਹਮੈਐਸੇਤਰਿਓਹੈ॥
ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲਹੂ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਜ ਤਰਿਆ ਹੈ
Taking the bow in hand and recouping his strength, he is swimming in the ocean of blood like this,
ਦੇਵਅਦੇਵਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਮਥਿਓਮਾਨੋਮੇਰਕੋਮਧਿਧਰਿਓਸੁਫਿਰਿਓਹੈ॥੧੫੪॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਰਿੜਕਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਮੇਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ (ਮਧਾਣੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਰਕਤ-ਬੀਜ) ਫਿਰਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੫੪॥
As though he wass the Sumeru mountain like the one used at the time of churning of ocean by the gods and demons.154.,
ਕ੍ਰੁਧਕੈਜੁਧਕੇਦੈਤਬਲੀਨਦਸ੍ਰੋਨਕੋਤੈਰਕੇਪਾਰਪਧਾਰਿਓ॥
ਬਲਵਾਨ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਲਹੂ ('ਸ੍ਰੋਨ') ਦੀ ਨਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
The powerful demon waged the war with great anger and swam over and crossed the ocean of blood.,
ਲੈਕਰਵਾਰਅਉਢਾਰਸੰਭਾਰਕੈਸਿੰਘਕੋਦਉਰਕੈਜਾਇਹਕਾਰਿਓ॥
ਤਲਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਢਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਦੌੜਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਲਲਕਾਰਿਆ।
Holding his sword and controlling his shield, he ran forward and challenged the lion.,
ਆਵਤਪੇਖਕੈਚੰਡਿਕੁਵੰਡਤੇਬਾਨਲਗਿਓਤਨਮੂਰਛਪਾਰਿਓ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਰ (ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ) ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਦੈਂਤ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
Seeing his coming, Chandi shot an arrow from her bow, which caused the demon to become unconscious and fall down.,
ਰਾਮਕੇਭ੍ਰਾਤਨਜਿਉਹਨੂਮਾਨਕੋਸੈਲਸਮੇਤਧਰਾਪਰਡਾਰਿਓ॥੧੫੫॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਭਰਾ (ਭਰਤ) ਨੇ (ਸੰਜੀਵਨੀ ਬੂਟੀ ਵਾਲੇ) ਪਰਬਤ ਸਹਿਤ ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੫੫॥
It seemed that the brother of Rama (Bharat) had caused Hanuman to fall down with he mountain.155.,
ਫੇਰਉਠਿਓਕਰਿਲੈਕਰਵਾਰਕੋਚੰਡਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਸਿਉਜੁਧਕਰਿਓਹੈ॥
ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਚੰਡੀ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The demon got up again and holding the sword in his hand he waged the war with powerful Chandi.,
ਘਾਇਲਕੈਤਨਕੇਹਰਤੇਬਹਿਸ੍ਰਉਨਸਮੂਹਧਰਾਨਿਪਰਿਓਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਇਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਤੋਂ) ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਲਹੂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ।
He wounded the lion, whose blood flowed enormously and fell upon the earth.,
