ਹਾਥਉਚਾਇਹਨੀਛਤਿਯਾਮੁਸਕਾਇਲਜਾਇਸਖੀਚਹੂੰਘਾਤੈ॥
ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਛਾਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਹਸਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਧਾ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਲਜਾ ਗਈ।
Replacing their hands over their chests, the maids smiled in modesty.
ਨੈਨਨਸੌਕਹਿਯੋਏਜਦੁਨਾਥਸੁਭੌਹਨਸੌਕਹਿਯੋਜਾਹੁਇਹਾਤੈ॥੬॥
(ਰਾਧਾ ਨੇ) ਨੈਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ! ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਭੌਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਥੋਂ ਚਲੀ ਜਾ ॥੬॥
Through twinkling eyes, they asked, ‘Oh, Krishna, you go from here.’(6)

ਨੈਨਨਸੋਹਰਿਰਾਇਕਹਿਭੌਹਨਉਤਰਦੀਨ॥
ਨੈਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਭੌਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
With the glitter through his eyes, Krishna responded,
ਭੇਦਨਪਾਯੋਕੌਨਹੂੰਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਬਿਦਾਕਰਦੀਨ॥੭॥
ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੭॥
But no body acquiesced the mystery and Krishna was bid good-bye.(7)(1)

ਨਗਰਸਿਰੋਮਨਿਕੋਹੁਤੋਸਿੰਘਸਿਰੋਮਨਿਭੂਪ॥
ਸਿਰੋਮਨੀ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਸਿਰੋਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
In the city of Siroman, there was one Raja called Siroman Singh.
ਅਮਿਤਦਰਬੁਘਰਮੈਧਰੇਸੁੰਦਰਕਾਮਸਰੂਪ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਬੇਹਿਸਾਬ ਧਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਾਮ ਦੇਵ ਵਰਗਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
He was as handsome as Cupid and had lot of wealth.(l)

ਦ੍ਰਿਗਧੰਨ੍ਰਯਾਤਾਕੀਬਰਨਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਧੰਨ੍ਯਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੋਰਹੈਲਾਜਤੇਪ੍ਯਾਰੀ॥
(ਉਹ) ਲਜੀਲੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਸੀ।
Drig Daniya was his wife; she was much liked by the Raja.
ਏਕਦਿਵਸਰਾਜਘਰਆਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਘਰ ਆਇਆ
ਰੰਗਨਾਥਜੋਗਿਯਹਿਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਥ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
Once Raja came home and he called Yogi Rang Nath.(2)

ਬ੍ਰਹਮਬਾਦਤਾਸੌਕਿਯੋਰਾਜੈਨਿਕਟਿਬੁਲਾਇ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਵਾਦ (ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਚਰਚਾ) ਕੀਤਾ।
Raja called him and he had conversation with him regarding the Godly attainment.
ਜੁਕਛੁਕਥਾਤਿਨਸੌਭਈਸੋਮੈਕਹਤਬਨਾਇ॥੩॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਈ, ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩॥
What ever transpired in the discourse, I am going to narrate it to you;(3)
ਏਕਨਾਥਸਭਜਗਤਮੈਬ੍ਯਾਪਿਰਹਿਯੋਸਭਦੇਸ॥
ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Only One is there in the Universe, who is omnipresent.
ਸਭਜੋਨਿਨਮੈਰਵਿਰਹਿਯੋਊਚਨੀਚਕੇਭੇਸ॥੪॥
(ਉਹੀ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਚੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਭੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
He prevails in every life without discrimination of high and low.(4)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਸਰਬਬ੍ਯਾਪੀਸ੍ਰੀਪਤਿਜਾਨਹੁ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਮਝੋ,
ਸਭਹੀਕੋਪੋਖਕਕਰਿਮਾਨਹੁ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਪੋਸ਼ਕ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੰਨੋ।
God prevails all over and he is provider of all.
ਸਰਬਦਯਾਲਮੇਘਜਿਮਿਢਰਈ॥
(ਉਹੀ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਬਦਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਦਇਆ (ਦੀ ਬਰਖਾ) ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਸਭਕਾਹੂਕਰਕਿਰਪਾਕਰਈ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥
He is benevolent to all and showers all with His grace.(5)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ:

ਸਭਕਾਹੂਕੋਪੋਖਈਸਭਕਾਹੂਕੌਦੇਇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He is the nurture of all and he sustains all.
ਜੋਤਾਤੇਮੁਖਫੇਰਈਮਾਗਿਮੀਚਕਹਲੇਇ॥੬॥
ਜੋ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਖ ਫੇਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਮਝ ਲਵੋ (ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਮੌਤ ਮੰਗ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
Who-so-ever turns his mind away from Him, invites his own annihilation.(6)
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:

ਏਕਨਸੋਖੈਏਕਨਭਰੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
If one side is shrivelled by Him,
ਏਕਨਮਾਰੈਇਕਨਿਉਬਰੈ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਬਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The other side is dampened.
ਏਕਨਘਟਵੈਏਕਬਢਾਵੈ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
If one is terminated by Him, then the other is bestowed with life.
ਦੀਨਦਯਾਲਯੌਚਰਿਤਦਿਖਾਵੈ॥੭॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਨ ਦਿਆਲ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਵਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
If one aspect diminishes, the other, He enhances. Thus the Creator displays His phenomenon.(7)
ਰੂਪਰੇਖਜਾਕੇਕਛੁਨਾਹੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
He is without any boundaries and vignettes.
ਭੇਖਅਭੇਖਸਭਕੇਘਟਮਾਹੀ॥
(ਉਹ) ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਜਾਂ ਅਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।
He prevails both in the visible and the imperceptible.
ਜਾਪਰਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਚਛੁਕਰਿਹੇਰੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਉਹ) ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
Whom-so-ever He takes under his sanctuary,
ਤਾਕੀਕੌਨਛਾਹਕੌਛੇਰੈ॥੮॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਛਾਵੇਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੌਣ ਛੇੜ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
He cannot be blemished by any evil.(8)
ਜਛਭੁਜੰਗਅਕਾਸਬਨਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਕਸ਼, ਸੱਪ ਅਤੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ
He created Jachh, Bhujang in the heaven and
ਦੇਵਅਦੇਵਥਪਿਬਾਦਿਰਚਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਸਿਰਜ ਕੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਝਗੜਾ ਰਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Initiated struggle in between the gods and the demons.
ਭੂਮਿਬਾਰਿਪੰਚਤਤੁਪ੍ਰਕਾਸਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਭੂਮੀ, ਜਲ ਆਦਿ ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ
After instituting the earth, the water and five elements,
ਆਪਹਿਦੇਖਤਬੈਠਤਮਾਸਾ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
He postured there to observe His play.(9)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ:

ਜੀਵਜੰਤਸਭਥਾਪਿਕੈਪੰਥਬਨਾਏਦੋਇ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੋ ਹੀ ਪੰਥ (ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ) ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ।
Established all the animation and then formulated two ways (birth and death).
ਝਗਰਿਪਚਾਏਆਪਿਮਹਿਮੋਹਿਨਚੀਨੈਕੋਇ॥੧੦॥
(ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਆਪਸ ਦੇ ਝਗੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਲਝੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
And then lamented, ‘They all get entangled in bickering and none remembers me.’(10)
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:

ਯਹਸਭਭੇਦਸਾਧੁਕੋਊਜਾਨੈ॥
ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਧੂ (ਪੁਰਸ਼) ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ
ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁਕੋਤਤਪਛਾਨੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਤੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Only a saint can recognise this fact and there are not many who acknowledge Satnam, the True Name.
ਜੋਸਾਧਕਯਾਕੌਲਖਿਪਾਵੈ॥
ਜੋ ਸਾਧਕ ਉਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਨੀਜਠਰਬਹੁਰਿਨਹਿਆਵੈ॥੧੧॥
(ਉਹ) ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਗਰਭ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
And one who perceives, comes not again to suffer in pregnancy. (11)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ:

ਜਬਜੋਗੀਐਸੇਕਹਿਯੋਤਬਰਾਜੈਮੁਸਕਾਇ॥
ਜਦ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਸ ਪਿਆ
When the Yogi had uttered all this, the Raja smiled,
ਤਤਬ੍ਰਹਮਕੇਬਾਦਿਕੌਉਚਰਤਭਯੋਬਨਾਇ॥੧੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਤੱਤ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਧਾਂਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਸਣ ਲਗਿਆ ॥੧੨॥
And commenced to explain the essence of Brahma, the Creator.(12)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਜੋਗੀਡਿੰਭਕਿਜੋਗੀਜਿਯਰੋ॥
ਕੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਜੀਉੜਾ ਹੈ,
ਜੋਗੀਦੇਹਕਿਜੋਗੀਹਿਯਰੋ॥
ਦੇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Is Yoga hypocrisy or is it a life force?
ਸੋਜੋਗੀਜੋਜੋਗਪਛਾਨੈ॥
(ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ) ਉਹ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ
ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁਬਿਨੁਅਵਰੁਨਜਾਨੈ॥੧੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
The Yogi who wants to perceive yoga, would not discern without Satnam, the True Name.(13)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਡਿੰਭਦਿਖਾਯੋਜਗਤਕੋਜੋਗੁਨਉਪਜਿਯੋਜੀਯ॥
(ਜੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਦਾ ਦਿਖਾਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਜੋਗ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
By displaying hypocrisy to the world, Yoga cannot be attained.
ਯਾਜਗਕੇਸੁਖਤੇਗਯੋਜਨਮਬ੍ਰਿਥਾਗੇਕੀਯ॥੧੪॥
(ਉਹ) ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਵਿਚ ਜਨਮ ਗੰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੪॥
Rather the auspicious birth is wasted and the worldly bliss is gained not.(14)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਤਬਜੋਗੀਹਸਿਬਚਨਉਚਾਰੋ॥
ਤਦ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੇ ਹਸ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਕਹੇ,
Then the Yogi jovially articulated,
ਸੁਨਹੁਰਾਵਜੂਗ੍ਯਾਨਹਮਾਰੋ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਸਾਡਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਸੁਣੋ।
‘Listen to me, my sovereign,
ਸੋਜੋਗੀਜੋਜੋਗਪਛਾਨੈ॥
ਜੋਗੀ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ
‘The one who comprehends the yoga,
ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁਬਿਨੁਅਵਰੁਨਜਾਨੈ॥੧੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
Is a yogi and without Satnam recognises none else.(15)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਜਬਚਾਹਤਹੈਆਤਮਾਇਕਤੇਭਯੋਅਨੇਕ॥
ਜਦ ਆਤਮਾ (ਭਾਵ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਕ ਤੋਂ ਅਨੇਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
‘The soul, whenever it desires, becomes many fold,
ਅਨਿਕਭਾਤਿਪਸਰਤਜਗਤਬਹੁਰਿਏਕਕੋਏਕ॥੧੬॥
ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਸਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਫਿਰ ਇਕ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥
‘But after roaming around the temporal world, amalgamates with One again.’(16)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਯਹਨਹਿਮਰੈਨਕਾਹੂਮਾਰੈ॥
ਨ ਇਹ ਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
‘Neither it perishes, nor it annihilates the others,
ਭੂਲਾਲੋਕਭਰਮੁਬੀਚਾਰੈ॥
ਭੁਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕ ਭਰਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Only the ignorant remains in vagaries.
ਘਟਘਟਬ੍ਯਾਪਕਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ॥
(ਉਹ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਰਮਣ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ
‘He knows all and every body’s enigma,
ਸਭਹੀਮਹਿਰਵਿਰਹਿਯੋਸੁਆਮੀ॥੧੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅੰਤਰਯਾਮੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੭॥
Because He abides in each and every one.(17)
