ਸੂਰਤਿਸੀਰਤਿਮੈਜਨੁਕਆਪੁਬਨ੍ਯੋਪੁਰਹੂਤ॥੩॥
ਸ਼ਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਭਾ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਮਾਨੋ ਆਪ ਇੰਦਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੩॥
Who was epitome of god Indra in his splendour.(3)
ਸੁਮਤਿਸੈਨਸੂਰਾਬਡੋਖੇਲਣਚਰਿਯੋਸਿਕਾਰ॥
ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸੈਨ (ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ) ਵੱਡਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਡਣ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ।
His name was Sumat Sen and he rushed an a hunting spree,
ਸ੍ਵਾਨਸਿਚਾਨੇਸੰਗਲੈਆਯੋਬਨੈਮੰਝਾਰ॥੪॥
ਕੁੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਜ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ॥੪॥
Along with his hawks and dogs.(4)
ਸੁਮਤਿਸੈਨਸਭਸਭਾਮੈਐਸੇਉਚਰੇਬੈਨ॥
ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸੈਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ
Sumat Sen had declared in the assembly,
ਜਿਹਆਗੇਆਵੈਹਨੈਔਕੋਊਮ੍ਰਿਗਹਿਹਨੈਨ॥੫॥
ਕਿ ਜੋ ਹਿਰਨ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਏ, ਉਹੀ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਰੇ, ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਮਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
‘Whosoever confront the deer, must hunt.(5)

ਮ੍ਰਿਗਜਾਕੇਆਗੇਹ੍ਵੈਆਵੈ॥
ਹਿਰਨ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਅਗੇ ਆਵੇ,
ਵਹੈਆਪਨੋਤੁਰੈਧਵਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੌੜਾਏ।
‘In whose sight the deer came, he should put his horse behind,
ਕੈਮ੍ਰਿਗਮਾਰੈਕੈਗਿਰਿਮਰੈ॥
ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਹਿਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਆਪ ਡਿਗ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ
ਯੌਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੌਦਰਸਨਨਹਿਕਰੈ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਨਾ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥੬॥
‘Either he should kill the deer or should never came back to’ show me his face.(6)
ਹੁਕਮਧਨੀਕੋਐਸੋਭਯੋ॥
ਵਿਧਾਤਾ ਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ
ਰਾਜਪੁਤ੍ਰਆਗੇਮ੍ਰਿਗਗਯੋ॥
ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੀ ਹਿਰਨ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
With the grace of God, a deer came to confront the royal prince.
ਸੁਮਤਿਸਿੰਘਤਬਤੁਰੈਧਵਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਘੋੜਾ ਭਜਾਇਆ
ਪਾਛੈਲਗਿਯੋਹਿਰਨਕੋਆਯੋ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਹਿਰਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ ॥੭॥
Then Sumat Singh ran his horse and chased the deer.(7)

ਪਾਛੇਲਾਗਿਯੋਹਿਰਨਕੇਰੂਪਪਹੂੰਚ੍ਯੋਆਇ॥
ਹਿਰਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਲਗਿਆ ਉਹ ਰੂਪ (ਨਗਰ) ਵਿਚ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ।
By chasing and chasing, the san reached the city of Roop,
ਦੁਹਿਤਾਹੇਰਿਵਜੀਰਕੀਰੂਪਰਹੀਮੁਰਛਾਇ॥੮॥
ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਦੀ ਧੀ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੮॥
And seeing the daughter of the minister, he last his perception.(8)

ਪਾਨਖਾਇਕਰਪੁਰੀਬਨਈ॥
ਪਾਨ ਖਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ) ਪੁੜੀ ਬਣਾਈ
ਪੀਕਡਾਰਿਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਪਰਦਈ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਪਾਨ ਦੀ) ਪੀਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
While eating beetle-leaf she spit towards the prince,
ਸੁਮਤਿਸੈਨਮੁਰਿਤਾਹਿਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸੈਨ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਤਾਕੋਸੋਕਦੂਰਿਕਰਿਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੯॥
When Sumat Sen looked at her, she felt a great relief.(9)
ਮੰਦਰਪੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਹਿਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ) ਮੰਦਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
ਮਨਭਾਵਤਕੋਭੋਗਕਮਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਭਾਉਂਦਾ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
The prince called her at his house and contentedly had sex with her.
ਹਰਿਨਹਨਨਯੌਹੁਤੌਸੁਭਾਖ੍ਯੋ॥
(ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ) ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਹਿਰਨ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਂ।
ਕਾਮਕੇਲਦੁਹੂੰਅਨਰਸਚਾਖ੍ਯੋ॥੧੦॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਚਖਿਆ ॥੧੦॥
He told her that he had come on a deer hunting but, now, was enjoying by making love.(10)
ਚਾਰਿਪਹਰਰਜਨੀਸੁਖਪਾਯੋ॥
ਚਾਰ ਪਹਿਰ ਰਾਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ
ਕਾਮਕੇਲਦੁਹੂੰਅਨਕੋਭਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮ-ਕੇਲ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗੀ।
They spent four watches of night cheerfully, and enjoyed the sex overwhelmingly.
ਅਤਿਪ੍ਰਮੁਦਿਤਮਨਭੀਤਰਭਏ॥
(ਦੋਵੇਂ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਏ
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਕੇਆਸਨਲਏ॥੧੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਆਸਣ ਕੀਤੇ ॥੧੧॥
They revelled heart fully and rejoiced sex adopting various postures.(11)

ਕੋਕਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਕੋਉਚਰੈਰਮਤਦੋਊਸੁਖਪਾਇ॥
ਕੋਕ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਚ ਦਰਸਾਏ (ਢੰਗਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਰਮਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
They both savoured by following the Koka-shastra,
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਆਸਨਕਰੈਗਨਨਾਗਨੀਜਾਇ॥੧੨॥
ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਆਸਨ ਕੀਤੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧੨॥
And adopting various positions, which could not be counted.(12)
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਹੋਤਨਿਸਿਬਸਿਚਲਿਯੋਗਹਿਯੋਪਯਾਦਨਆਇ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਆਦਿਆਂ (ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ) ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ।
The night passed and at the daybreak, police came.
ਬਾਧਿਹਨਨਕੌਲੈਚਲੇਰਹਿਯੋਨਕਛੂਉਪਾਇ॥੧੩॥
ਉਹ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਚਲੇ, ਬਚਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਉਪਾ ਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੧੩॥
They tied him and took him to kill as there was no other way.(l3)

ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਬਾਧਿਪਯਾਦਨਲਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ।
ਦੇਖਨਲੋਗਨਗਰਕੋਗਯੋ॥
ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਗਏ।
The soldiers tied the prince up and all the people from the town came to see.
ਰਾਜਾਜੂਕੇਧਾਮਤੇਨੇਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਜਦੋਂ) ਰਾਜਾ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜਿਓਂ (ਲੰਘੇ)
ਮਹਲਨਚਰੇਰਾਵਜੂਹੇਰਿਯੋ॥੧੪॥
(ਤਾਂ) ਮਹੱਲਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ॥੧੪॥
When they passed by the Rajas’ palace, the Raja noticed as well.(14)
ਰੋਸਨਿਤੁਰਕੀਤੁਰਾਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਰੋਸ਼ਨਿ (ਰਾਇ) ਨੇ ਤੁਰਕੀ ਦੇਸ ਦਾ ਘੋੜਾ ਮੰਗਵਾਇਆ
ਆਪੁਪੁਰਖਕੋਭੇਖਬਨਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦਾ ਭੇਸ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
That damsel called for a Turkish horse and disguised herself as a man.
ਸਵਾਲਾਖਕੋਅਭਰਨਕਰਿਯੋ॥
ਸਵਾ ਲੱਖ ਦੇ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਪਾ ਲਏ
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਬਰਨਕੋਬਾਨਾਧਰਿਯੋ॥੧੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਰੰਗ ਦਾ ਬਾਣਾ ਸਜਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੫॥
She adorned hundred thousand worth of ornaments and put on black dress.(15)

ਤਿਹਕੋਰੂਪਨਿਹਾਰਿਕੈਭੂਪਰਹਿਯੋਮੁਰਛਾਇ॥
ਉਸ (ਰੋਸਨਿ ਰਾਇ) ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਬੇਹੋਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
On seeing him (her) the Raja lost his sensibility.
ਕੌਨਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਕੋਪੁਤ੍ਰਯਹਤਾਕੋਲੇਹੁਬੁਲਾਇ॥੧੬॥
ਇਹ ਕਿਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਓ ॥੧੬॥
‘Whose son is he? You call him here before me.’(16)
