ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਭਾ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਈ
One day Raja had an assembly and called all his women.
ਸਭਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਗ੍ਰਿਹਬੋਲਿਪਠਾਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੋਂ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
He told that he had last a ring.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਕਹੀਮੁੰਦ੍ਰੀਮਮਗਈ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੁੰਦਰੀ (ਗੁੰਮ ਹੋ) ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਵਹੁਕਹਿਉਠੀਚੀਨਿਮੈਲਈ॥੬॥
ਉਹ ਦਾਸੀ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ, ਪਛਾਣ ਲਵੋ ॥੬॥
The maid gat up and said that she had it with her.(6)
ਯਹਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਿਕਾਕਹਾਤੇਪਾਈ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਪੁਛਿਆ-) ਇਹ ਮੁੰਦਰੀ (ਤੈਨੂੰ) ਕਿਥੋਂ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ।
ਡਾਰੀਹੁਤੀਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਮਮਆਈ॥
(ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪਈ ਸੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ।
‘Where did you find this ring?’ ‘It was lying an the way,
ਸੋਮੈਕਰਿਉਠਾਇਕਰਲਈ॥
ਉਹ ਮੈਂ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਉਠਾ ਲਈ।
ਲੈਰਾਜਾਜੀਤੁਮਕੌਦਈ॥੭॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ॥੭॥
‘And I picked it up. Now Raja, please you take it.’(7)

ਜਾਕੋਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਦਈਮੈਤਾਹੂਕੋਦੀਨ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-) ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
‘To whom God has given, I let her have too.’
ਭੇਦਨਕਾਹੂਤ੍ਰਿਯਲਹਿਯੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਛਲਗਯੋਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ॥੮॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛਲ ਲਿਆ ॥੮॥
The wife could not discern the deceptian which Raja had played.(8)(1)

ਰਾਇਕਰਾਠਮਹੋਬੇਰਹੈ॥
ਇਕ ਰਾਜਪੂਤ ਰਾਠ ਮਹੋਬੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
A Rajput used to’ live in Mahobe city.
ਮਿਤ੍ਰਸਿੰਘਜਾਕੋਜਗਕਹੈ॥
ਜਗ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਜਦਾ ਸੀ।
In the world he was known as Mittar Singh.
ਦਛਿਨਪੈਂਡਚਲਨਨਹਿਦੇਈ॥
ਉਹ ਦੱਖਣ ਮਾਰਗ ਉਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ
ਕੂਟਿਲੂਟਿਲੋਗਨਕਹਲੇਈ॥੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਕੁਟ ਕੇ ਲੁਟ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
He would not let people go by, and used to rob them after beating.(l)
ਜੋਲਿੰਡਿਯਾਇਤਿਹਕੌਧਨਲ੍ਯਾਵੈ॥
ਜੋ ਕਾਇਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਧਨ ਲੁਟ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ
ਜੋਐਠੈਤਿਹਮਾਰਿਗਿਰਾਵੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਅਗੋਂ ਡਟਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
He looted the cowards, and, those, who’ stood fast, he killed them.
ਲੂਟਿਕੂਟਿਸਭਹੀਕੌਲੇਈ॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਟ ਪੁਟ ਲੈਂਦਾ
ਅਧਿਕਦਰਬੁਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਕੌਦੇਈ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ॥੨॥
After looting all, he used to came and give riches to the woman.(2)
ਏਕਦਿਵਸਧਾਰਾਕੋਗਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਧਾੜਾ (ਡਾਕਾ) ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ,
ਸੂਰਮਾਨਸੰਗਭੇਟਾਭਯੋ॥
(ਪਰ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
Once, when he went to’ rob, he came across a warrior.
ਹੈਦੌਰਾਇਚਲਤਗਿਰਪਰਿਯੋ॥
ਘੋੜਾ ਦੌੜਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ।
ਤਬਤਿਨਆਨਸੂਰਮਨਧਰਿਯੋ॥੩॥
ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਪਕੜ ਲਿਆ ॥੩॥
While chasing his horse to run fast, he fell aver and the warriors caught him.(3)

ਬਾਧਿਕਾਲਪੀਲੈਗਏਤਾਹਿਹਨਨਕੇਭਾਇ॥
(ਉਹ ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਕਾਲਪੀ (ਸ਼ਹਿਰ) ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਗਏ।
He tied him up and brought him to’ Kaalpi Nagar to kill.
ਤਨਕਭਨਕਸੁਨਿਤਿਹਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਤਹਾਪਹੂੰਚੀਆਇ॥੪॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਭਿਣਕ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ (ਉਹ) ਉਥੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ॥੪॥
Getting the news, his wife arrived there, too.(4)

ਚੁਨਿਚੁਨਿਗੋਬਰਹੈਪਰਧਰੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੋਹੇ ਚੁਣ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਉਤੇ ਧਰ ਲਏ
ਕਾਹੂਕੀਸੰਕਾਨਹਿਕਰੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
She had been collecting the cakes of horses’ dung so that no body could suspect.
ਪਤਿਕੌਬਧਨਹੋਇਯੌਧਾਈ॥
ਉਹ ਕਾਹਲੀ ਕਾਹਲੀ ਚਲੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ।
ਇਹਮਿਸਿਨਿਕਟਿਪਹੂਚੀਆਈ॥੫॥
ਇਸ ਪਜ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ॥੫॥
She came running fast to reach there to save her husband from hanging.(5)

ਝਟਕਿਬਾਹਤੇਨਿਜੁਪਤਿਹਹੈਪਰਲਯੋਚਰਾਇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਾਂਹ (ਤੋਂ ਫੜ ਕੇ) ਝਟਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਘੋੜੇ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਲਿਆ
She jerked his (warrior’s) hand and took her husband an her horse.
ਤਾਹੀਕੌਅਸਿਛੀਨਿਕੈਤਾਹਿਚੰਡਾਰਹਿਘਾਇ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਚੰਡਾਲ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੬॥
And taking his awn sward she killed him (the warrior).(6)

ਜਵਨਸ੍ਵਾਰਪਹੂੰਚ੍ਯੋਤਿਹਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜੋ ਸਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਉਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਿਆ
ਏਕੈਬਾਨਮਾਰਿਹੀਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Any horse-rider who came forward, she killed him with the arrow.
ਕਾਹੂਤੇਚਿਤਡਰਤਨਭਈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਡਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ
ਨਿਜੁਪਤਿਲੈਪੁਰਵਾਕਹਗਈ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਗਈ ॥੭॥
She did not care far any body, took her husband and brought him home.(7)(1)

ਦੁਹਿਤਾਏਕਵਜੀਰਕੀਰੂਪਸਹਰਕੇਮਾਹਿ॥
ਰੂਪ ਨਗਰ (ਸ਼ਹਿਰ) ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਵਜ਼ੀਰ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ।
In the city of Roop, a minister had a daughter.
ਤਾਕੇਸਮਤਿਹੂੰਲੋਕਮੈਰੂਪਵਤੀਕਊਨਾਹਿ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਵਰਗੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
There was none as pretty as she in all the three worlds.(1)
ਅਗਨਤਧਨੁਬਿਧਿਘਰਦਯੋਅਮਿਤਰੂਪਕੌਪਾਇ॥
ਅਮਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
Along with the beauty, God has endowed her with lot of wealth.
ਲੋਕਚੌਦਹੂੰਮੈਸਦਾਰੋਸਨਰੋਸਨਰਾਇ॥੨॥
ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਰਾਇ ਸਦਾ ਜੋਤਿਮਾਨ ਸੀ ॥੨॥
His influence had spread aver all the fourteen continents.(2)
ਸਾਮਦੇਸਕੇਸਾਹਕੋਸੁੰਦਰਏਕਸਪੂਤ॥
