(ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਤਾਂਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਦਸ ਦੇਈਂ ॥੨੪॥
And asked her to convey him all the Rani’s secrets.(24)

ਤਾਕੇਚੋਰਿਚਿਤਕਹਲਿਜਿਯਹੁ॥
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿਤ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਚੁਰਾ ਲਈਂ।
‘Don’t give out any of my enigmas but come to me to relate her mysteries.
ਵਾਹੀਕੀਹੋਈਤੁਮਰਹਿਯਹੁ॥
ਤੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਰਹੀਂ
ਲੈਤਾਕੋਅੰਤਰਮੁਹਿਕਹਿਯਹੁ॥੨੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਸੀਂ ॥੨੫॥
‘You remain as her companion and squeeze her secrets for me.’(25)

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਇਕ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਲਿਖੀ।
The Raja wrote a letter to Rani on her friend’s behalf,
ਹਮਬਿਖਰਚਰਹਤੇਘਨੇਕਛੁਧਨੁਦੈਹੁਪਠਾਇ॥੨੬॥
ਮੈਂ ਖ਼ਰਚੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੰਗ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਕੁਝ ਧਨ ਭੇਜ ਦਿਓ ॥੨੬॥
‘Money wise I am very much tight, let me have some cash.(26)
ਦੇਸਛਾਡਿਪਰਦੇਸਮੈਬਸਾਬਹੁਤਦਿਨਆਇ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਸ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਪਰਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵਸਿਆ ਹੈਂ।
‘After leaving my country I have come to a foreign land.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮਜਾਨਿਕਛੁਕੀਜਿਯਹੁਮੁਸਕਲਸਮੈਸਹਾਇ॥੨੭॥
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਉਪਾ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੋ ॥੨੭॥
‘For sake of our love, please do something and help at the time of need.(27)
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਤਿਹਾਰੇਹ੍ਵੈਰਹੇਇਮਿਸਮਝੋਮਨਮਾਹਿ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਯਾ! ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ।
‘My dear lady, please be considerate, I am forever yours,
ਹਮਸੇਤੁਮਕਹਬਹੁਤਹੈਤੁਮਸੇਹਮਕਹਨਾਹਿ॥੨੮॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ) ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨੮॥
‘You have others too, but there is none like you with me.(28)

ਵੈਦਿਨਯਾਦਿਹਮਾਰੇਕਿਜਿਯਹੁ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਖ਼ਰਚ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਭੇਜ ਦਿਓ।
‘Remembering the old days, please do help me and send me some money to spend.
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਪੁਰਾਤਨਪ੍ਰਿਯਾਬਿਚਰਿਯਹੁ॥
ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੀ! ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ
ਹਮਪਰਅਧਿਕਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਤੁਮਕਰਿਯਹੁ॥੨੯॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਉਚੇਚੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੋ ॥੨੯॥
‘My love, please do consider for sake of our love and help me.(29)
ਤਵਨਰਾਤਿਕੀਬਾਤਸੰਵਰਿਯਹੁ॥
ਉਸ ਰਾਤ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰੋ।
ਮੋਪਰਨਾਰਿਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁਕਰਿਯਹੁ॥
ਹੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੋ।
‘My dear Lady, remembering that night, please take pity on me.
ਯਾਪਤਿਯਾਕਹਤੁਹੀਪਛਾਨੈ॥
ਇਸ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈਂ,
ਅਵਰਪੁਰਖਕੋਊਦੁਤਿਯਨਜਾਨੈ॥੩੦॥
ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ॥੩੦॥
‘Only you can discern this letter and no other person knows about this.(30)

‘I did have good days and, now, as you are affluent,
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਜਾਨਿਕਿਛੁਦੀਜਿਯਹੁਕਰਿਯਹੁਮੋਹਿਸਹਾਇ॥੩੧॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੋ ॥੩੧॥
‘Please be kind, help me and render me some help.’(31)
ਬਾਚਤਪਤਿਯਾਮੂੜਤ੍ਰਿਯਫੂਲਗਈਮਨਮਾਹਿ॥
(ਉਹ) ਚਿੱਠੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਫੁਲ ਗਈ।
ਤੁਰਤੁਕਾਢਿਬਹੁਧਨੁਦਿਯਾਭੇਦਲਖਿਓਜੜਨਾਹਿ॥੩੨॥
ਤੁਰਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਭੇਦ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ॥੩੨॥

ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਧਨ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਤਾਕੋਸੋਧਫੇਰਿਨਹਿਲੀਨੋ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਅਸਲ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ) ਸਮਝਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
Without thinking over, the foolish lady at once sent him lot of wealth.
ਲੈਅਪਨੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਾਜਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ (ਉਹ ਧਨ) ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਸਾਰਿਆ
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹਿਜਾਨਿਮੁਰਮਿਤਧਨਪਾਯੋ॥੩੩॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੇ ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੩੩॥
Raja used the wealth for his purposes and the woman thought it had gone to her friend.(33)

ਤ੍ਰਿਯਜਾਨਾਮੁਰਮੀਤਕਹਦਰਬਪਹੂੰਚ੍ਯੋਜਾਇ॥
ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਪਾਸ ਧਨ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The woman thought the wealth would have reached her man.
ਮੂੜਨਜਾਨਾਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਹਰਿਲੀਨਾਰੋਜਚਲਾਇ॥੩੪॥
(ਉਸ) ਮੂਰਖ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਕਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ (ਉਹ ਧਨ) ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਖੋਹ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਦਿਨ ਚਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਵਰਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ) ॥੩੪॥
But the idiot did not realise that her husband had stolen it.(34)

ਹਿਤਮਿਤਕੇਤ੍ਰਿਯਦਰਬੁਲੁਟਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ) ਇਸਤਰੀ (ਰਾਣੀ) ਨੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਲਈ ਧਨ ਲੁਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਨਿਜੁਨਾਯਕਸੌਨੇਹੁਗਵਾਯੌ॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਗੁਆ ਲਿਆ।
The woman lost the wealth for sake of her love and missed her husband’s love too.
ਹਰਿਧਨੁਲੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਰੋਜਚਲਾਵੈ॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਕੇ ਰੋਜ਼ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ
ਵਾਕੋਮੂੰਡਮੂੰਡਿਨਿਤਖਾਵੈ॥੩੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਤ ਲੁਟ ਲੁਟ ਕੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ॥੩੫॥
Raja started to squeeze more wealth out of her and this way made fool of her.(35)

ਜੋਜਨੁਜਾਸੌਰੁਚਿਕਰੈਤਾਹੀਕੋਲੈਨਾਮੁ॥
ਜੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ
The man who loves some one, and uses one’s name,
ਦਰਬੁਕਢਾਵੈਤ੍ਰਿਯਨਤੇਆਪੁਚਲਾਵੈਕਾਮੁ॥੩੬॥
ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਧਨ ਕਢਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩੬॥
And then that man robs one of one’s wealth to undertake his own tasks.(36)(1)
