ਨਾਮਜਾਰਕੋਲੈਤੁਰਤਯਾਕੋਧਨੁਹਰਿਲੇਉਾਂ॥੧੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਯਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਧਨ ਖੋਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੧੧॥
And, on the pretext of her friend, deprived her in all respect.(11)

ਕਿਸੇ (ਦਾਸੀ) ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਕਾਹੂਕਹਾਮਿਤ੍ਰਕੀਨ੍ਰਯਾਈ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਤਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਾਸਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ।
He presented gold-coins to some and to some he extended his hand in friendship.
ਕਾਹੂਸੰਗਨੇਹਉਪਜਾਯੋ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ
ਕਿਸੂਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਸੰਗਭੋਗਕਮਾਯੋ॥੧੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੨॥
He showered love on some and with some women, he made love.(12)

ਕਾਹੂਕਹਸੁਭਪਟਦਏਕਾਹੂਕਹਧਨੁਦੀਨ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He gave expensive clothes to some and to some he handed out wealth.
ਐਸੀਬਿਧਿਚੇਰੀਸਕਲਨ੍ਰਿਪਅਪਨੀਕਰਿਲੀਨ॥੧੩॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੧੩॥
And through such actions he won over all the maids, too.(l3)

ਐਸਹੀਬਾਹਰਕੀਬਸਿਕਰੀ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਬਾਹਰ ਦੀਆਂ (ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਭਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੇਰਸਢਰੀ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਢਲ ਗਈਆਂ।
Thus, all the outsider women he captivated and they all were trammelled.
ਜੋਰਾਜਾਕਹਭੇਦਨਦੇਈ॥
ਜੋ (ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ,
ਤਿਹਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ੍ਰਿਪਪੈਠਨਨਹਿਦੇਈ॥੧੪॥
ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਣ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੪॥
They all conveyed the secrets to Raja and the one who did not, Raja would not invite her.(14)

ਸਭਚੇਰੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਬਸਿਭਈਸਭਸੋਰਾਖਤਨੇਹ॥
ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਗਾ।
All the maids became under the control of the Raja,
ਜੁਕਛੁਬਾਤਤਵਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਰੈਆਨਿਇਸੈਕਹਦੇਹ॥੧੫॥
ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ (ਰਾਣੀ) ਕਰਦੀ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਦਸ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ॥੧੫॥
And whatever they heard from the Rani, they would come and divulge to Raja.(15)
ਸਭਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਨਸੌਸੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਜੋਕਛੁਕਹਤਬਖਾਨਿ॥
ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ,
Whenever Rani spoke, the maids showed their concurrence,
ਮੁਖਵਾਪੈਹਾਹਾਕਰੈਕਹੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਸੋਆਨਿ॥੧੬॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਅਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਹਾਂ ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ (ਪਰ ਉਧਰ ਝਟਪਟ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਦਸ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ॥੧੬॥
But, on the other hand, they would come immediately to inform the Raja.(16)

ਏਕਦਿਵਸਨ੍ਰਿਪਮੰਤ੍ਰਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ
ਚਿਤਮੈਇਹੈਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਸੁਧਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਕੀਤਾ।
One day, the Raja pondered over, and resolved for a design,
ਜੜਤ੍ਰਿਯਕੋਸਭਧਨਹਰਿਲੇਊ॥
ਇਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ ਖੋਹ ਲਵਾਂ
ਲੈਅਪਨੇਖਰਚਨਕਹਦੇਊ॥੧੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਖਰਚ ਲਈ ਦਿਆ ਕਰਾਂ ॥੧੭॥
‘All the wealth of this woman, I will confiscate and let her live barely on subsistence.’(17)
ਰਾਨੀਕੀਚੇਰੀਕਹਲਾਵੈ॥
ਇਕ ਰਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ,
ਆਨਿਭੇਦਸਭਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿਜਤਾਵੈ॥
(ਪਰ) ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਭੇਦ ਆ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
One lady who was Rani’s maid, used to come and tell the Raja everything.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਤਿਨਕਹਅਪਨੀਕਰਿਮਾਨੈ॥
ਇਸਤਰੀ (ਰਾਣੀ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਸੀ,
ਮੂਰਖਨਾਰਿਭੇਦਨਹਿਜਾਨੈ॥੧੮॥
(ਪਰ ਉਹ) ਮੂਰਖ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੧੮॥
The woman thought her to be her confidant, but the fool did not know real mystery.(18)
ਨਿਜੁਸੁਤਤੇਤਿਹਮਾਤਕਹਾਵੈ॥
(ਰਾਣੀ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ (ਦਾਸੀ) ਨੂੰ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ
ਅਧਿਕਧਾਮਤੇਦਰਬਲੁਟਾਵੈ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਉਤੇ) ਘਰੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ ਲੁਟਾਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
Being elderly she considered that maid like her mother and spent lot of money on her.
ਜੋਚਿਤਕੀਤਿਹਬਾਤਸੁਨਾਵਤ॥
ਉਹ ਚਿਤ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੱਲ (ਦਾਸੀ ਨਾਲ) ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ,
ਸੋਕਹਿਕਰਿਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਹਸਮਝਾਵਤ॥੧੯॥
ਉਹ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੧੯॥
But whatever she disclosed to her, she would go and tell the Raja.(l9)
ਭਲੋਬੁਰੋਤੁਹਿਮੈਬਹੁਕਰਿਹੋ॥
(ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਦਾਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾੜਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ
ਤੋਪਰਰੂਠਿਲਹਤਤਿਹਰਹਿਹੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰੁਸਿਆ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ।
Raja told the maid, ‘I will rebuke you and, immediately on her sight, I will get angry.
ਵਾਕੀਭਾਖਿਅਧਿਕਤੁਹਿਮਾਰੌ॥
'ਉਸ ਦੀ' ਕਹਿ ਕੇ (ਮੈਂ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਰਾਂਗਾ
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਨਲਹਤਚਿਤਤੇਤੁਹਿਡਾਰੌ॥੨੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚਿਤ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਪਰ ਇਹ (ਭੇਦ) ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝੇਗੀ ॥੨੦॥
‘Heeding to my wife I will beat you sufficiently and desert you, but she will not understand this secret.’(20)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੌਐਸੌਕਹਾਰਹੋਤਿਸੀਕੀਹੋਇ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ (ਦਾਸੀ ਨੂੰ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ (ਤੂੰ) ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਹਿ।
He then added, ‘You must remain her confidant.
ਭੇਦਸਕਲਮੁਹਿਦੀਜਿਯਹੁਜੁਕਛੁਕਹੈਤ੍ਰਿਯਸੋਇ॥੨੧॥
ਜੋ ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਹੇ, ਉਸ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਆ ਕਰ ॥੨੧॥
‘And whatever she tells you, you keep on revealing that to me.’(21)
ਵਾਹੀਕੀਹੋਈਰਹਤਨਿਤਤਿਹਅਧਿਕਰਿਝਾਇ॥
ਉਹ (ਦਾਸੀ) ਉਸ (ਰਾਣੀ) ਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਰਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹੀ।
Apparently she became ally of Rani and tried to keep her happy.
ਜੁਕਛੁਭੇਦਅਬਲਾਕਹੈਦੇਤਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਕਹਆਇ॥੨੨॥
ਜੋ ਭੇਦ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਅਬਲਾ (ਰਾਣੀ) ਕਰਦੀ, ਉਹ ਆ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਦਿੰਦੀ ॥੨੨॥
Everything she came to learn, she would come and tell the Raja.(22)

ਏਕਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹਰਾਇਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ।
ਕਛੁਕਦਰਬੁਤਾਤੇਚਟਵਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਧਨ ਦਾ ਲੋਭ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The Raja called a woman, lured her with money,
ਮੈਜੁਕਹੋਕਹੀਯਹੁਤਿਹਜਾਈ॥
ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਹੀਂ
ਹੌਤੋਪਹਿਤਵਮਿਤ੍ਰਪਠਾਈ॥੨੩॥
ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੩॥
And asked her to act the way he asked her, pretending as the confidant of the Rani.(23)
