ਮੋਪਤਿਗੁਰਕੋਭਗਤਿਹੈਲਗੀਨਕਲਿਕੀਬਾਉ॥੪॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਲਿਯੁਗ ਦੀ ਹਵਾ ਤਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
And he was true disciple of the Guru, and had not been effected by the contemporaries.( 4)

ਯਹਜੜਫੂਲਿਬਚਨਸੁਨਿਜਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ (ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੀ) ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਫੁਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ
ਅਧਿਕਆਪੁਕਹਸਾਧੁਕਹਾਵੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਾਧ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ।
The fool used to get flattered on hearing this and started to designate himself as a saint.
ਵਹਜਾਰਨਸੌਨਿਸੁਦਿਨਰਹਈ॥
ਉਹ (ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਯਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ
The fool used to get flattered on hearing this and started to designate himself as a saint.
ਇਹਕਛੁਤਿਨੈਨਮੁਖਤੇਕਹਈ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ॥੫॥
She was always relishing with her lovers and he never opened his mouth to reprimand her.(5)(1)

ਰਾਨੀਏਕਓਡਛੇਰਹੈ॥
ਓਰਛਾ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਰਾਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
ਪੁਹਪਮੰਜਰੀਜਿਹਜਗਕਹੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਪੁਹਪ ਮੰਜਰੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
A Rani used to live in Odchhe; she was known in the world as Pohap Manjri.
ਤਾਕੇਤੁਲਿਅਵਰਕੋਊਨਾਹੀ॥
ਉਸ ਵਰਗੀ (ਸੁੰਦਰ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
ਯਾਤੇਨਾਰਿਰਿਸਤਮਨਮਾਹੀ॥੧॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਖਾਰ ਖਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੧॥
There was none other like her, and all the ladies were envious of her.(1)
ਅਧਿਕਰੂਪਤਾਕੌਬਿਧਿਦਯੋ॥
ਵਿਧਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ,
ਜਾਤੇਬਸਿਰਾਜਾਹ੍ਵੈਗਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
God had bestowed her with beauty; even the Raja had fallen for her.
ਜੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹੈਬਚਨਸੋਈਮਾਨੈ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਜੋ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ, ਉਹੀ (ਰਾਜਾ) ਮੰਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ
ਬਿਨੁਪੂਛੇਕਛੁਕਾਜਨਠਾਨੈ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪੁਛੇ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ॥੨॥
Be did whatever she ordered for and without asking her he would never act.(2)
ਰਾਨੀਰਾਜਦੇਸਕੋਕਯੋ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ
ਰਾਜਾਰਾਨੀਕੀਸਮਭਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਣੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ)।
Rani ruled the country and Raja became like a Rani.
ਜੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹੈਵਹੈਜਗਮਾਨੈ॥
ਜੋ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ, ਉਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਰਦੇ।
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੀਚਿਤਕੋਊਕਾਨਿਨਆਨੈ॥੩॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
The people would act the way the woman commanded, and no one lent ear to the Raja.(3)

ਰਾਨੀਰਾਜਕਮਾਵਈਪਤਿਕੀਕਰੈਨਕਾਨਿ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ।
Rani governed whereas no body listened to her husband.
ਰਾਜਾਕੌਰਾਨੀਕਿਯਾਦੇਖਤਸਕਲਜਹਾਨ॥੪॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਣੀ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। (ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੪॥
Whole world transformed Raja into a Rani.(4)

ਰਾਜਾਕੌਰਾਨੀਬਸਿਕਿਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਜੀਤਜੰਤ੍ਰਮੰਤ੍ਰਨਸੌਲਿਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਜੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਤਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
Rani took total control of the Raja as she had won him through charms and incantations.
ਜਬਚਾਹਤਤਬਦੇਤਉਠਾਈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਠਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ

ਪੁਨਿਸੁਹਾਤਤਬਲੇਤਬਲਾਈ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ, ਬੁਲਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ॥੫॥
Whenever she wanted she made him to get up and whenever she wanted she called him over.(5)

ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤੀ
Coming across a very handsome man, she cast away all her wisdom.
ਪੁਰਖਭੇਸਧਰਿਤਿਹਸਦਨਨਿਸਿਕਹਕਿਯਾਪਯਾਨ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਦਾ ਭੇਸ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ॥੬॥
And disguising herself as a man went to his house.(6)

ਇਹੀਬੀਚਰਾਜਾਜੂਆਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਰਾਨੀਬਿਨਾਸਖੀਦੁਖਪਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਖੀ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
In the meantime Raja came and was very perturbed not to see her
ਧਾਮਨਪੈਠਨਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਹਦੀਨਾ॥
(ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਤਬਤ੍ਰਿਯਤਾਹਿਬਚਨਅਸਿਕੀਨਾ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਤਦ (ਉਸ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੭॥
The maid let him not sit down and told him,(7)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਕਛੂਭੂਲਤੁਮਤੇਭਈਤਾਤੇਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਿਯਮਾਨ॥
(ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ!) ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਭੁਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸਤਰੀ (ਰਾਣੀ) ਨੇ ਰੋਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ
‘You have misconstrued some thing, on account of which she has told us,
ਮੁਰਗ੍ਰਿਹਕਰਨਨਦੀਜਿਯਹੁਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਹਕਹਾਪਯਾਨ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਣ ਦੇਣਾ ॥੮॥
“Do not let Raja into my house as he has humiliated me.”(8)

ਰਾਨੀਤਾਸੋਭੋਗਕਮਾਈ॥
ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ) ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ
ਬਹੁਰੋਧਾਮੁਅਪੁਨੇਆਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਪਰਤ ਆਈ।
The Rani then enjoyed the sex and came back to her house.
ਯਹਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਕਹਤਿਨੈਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਸਖੀ ਨੇ) ਇਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੁਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਤਾਤੇਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹਅਧਿਕਰਿਝਾਯੋ॥੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੯॥
The maids told their deception and pleased the woman.(9)
ਤਬਤਿਨਤ੍ਰਿਯੋਅਧਿਕਧਨਦੀਨੋ॥
ਤਦ ਰਾਣੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਭਾਤਿਅਨੇਕਨਿਹੋਰੌਕੀਨੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਹਿਸਾਨ ਮੰਨਿਆ
Rani rewarded them sufficiently and they praised her in various ways,
ਭਲੀਸਖੀਹਮਰੀਮੁਖਭਾਖੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਸਖੀ! (ਤੂੰ) ਮੇਰੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਹਮਰੀਆਜੁਲਾਜਇਨਰਾਖੀ॥੧੦॥
ਤੂੰ ਅਜ ਮੇਰੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਖ ਲਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
‘You, my maids, are very sympathetic and you have saved my honour.’(10)
