ਅਤੇ ਬੇਗਮ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਜਹਾਂਗੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰ ਸਲਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੯॥
She came forward and made obeisance to the Rani three times.(l9)

(ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ,
ਜਨੁਮੁਹਿਪ੍ਰਾਨਆਜੁਇਹਦਏ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਅਜ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
The Emperor was delighted that she had saved his life.
ਧੰਨ੍ਯਧੰਨ੍ਯਨਿਜੁਤ੍ਰਿਯਕਹਕੀਨੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਦਾਨਹਮਕੋਇਨਦੀਨੋ॥੨੦॥
ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੦॥
He expressed his gratitude to her for rescuing him.(20)

ਤਿਹਆਗੇਕ੍ਯਾਮਨੁਖਬਿਚਾਰੋ॥
ਉਸ ਅਗੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੀ ਹੈ।
‘A person who can kill a lion, to that person what is a human being?
ਹਾਹਾਦੈਯਾਕਹਕ੍ਯਾਕਰਿਯੈ॥
ਹੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ('ਦੈਯਾ')! (ਅਸੀਂ) ਹੁਣ ਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ।
ਐਸੀਢੀਠਨਾਰਿਤੇਡਰਿਯੈ॥੨੨॥
ਅਜਿਹੀ ਢੀਠ ਨਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਭਲਾ ॥੨੨॥
‘God be benevolent and one must be fearful of such a person.’(22)

ਜਦ ਜਹਾਂਗੀਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਬੋਲ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੇ,
ਚਿਤਮੈਅਧਿਕਰਿਸਾਇਸੀਸਅਪੁਨੋਧੁਨ੍ਰਯੋ॥
ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਲਾਇਆ।
When Jehangir heard this, he flew into rage and shook his head.
ਐਸੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਕੇਨਿਕਟਨਬਹੁਰੇਜਾਇਯੈ॥
ਅਜਿਹੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ
ਹੋਕਰੈਦੇਹਕੋਘਾਤਬਹੁਰਿਕ੍ਯਾਪਾਇਯੈ॥੨੩॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਦੇਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰਾ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ ॥੨੩॥
‘One should not go near such a woman, as one could lose one’s life.’(23)

ਤ੍ਰਿਯਕੋਤ੍ਰਾਸਅਧਿਕਜਿਯਮਾਨ੍ਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ।
After hearing this, Jehangir was dreaded, and he became fearful of women.
ਸਿੰਘਹਨਤਜਿਹਲਗੀਨਬਾਰਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੇਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗੀ,
After hearing this, Jehangir was dreaded, and he became fearful of women.
ਤਿਹਆਗੇਕ੍ਯਾਮਨੁਖਬਿਚਾਰਾ॥੨੪॥
ਉਸ ਅਗੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਕੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੪॥
‘One who kills the lion instantly, how can a man encounter her,’ (he thought).(24)

ਅਤਿਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਗਤਿਤ੍ਰਿਯਨਕੀਜਿਨੈਨਜਾਨੈਕੋਇ॥
ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ (ਦੇ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ) ਦੀ ਅਜੀਬ ਗਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ।
‘Plenty of Chritars are there in females; no one can perceive them.
ਜੋਬਾਛੈਸੋਈਕਰੈਜੋਚਾਹੈਸੋਹੋਇ॥੨੫॥
(ਇਹ) ਜੋ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੫॥
‘They do whatever they like; all transpires the way they wish.(25)
ਪਿਯਹਿਉਬਾਰਾਹਰਿਹਨਾਏਕਤੁਪਕਕੇਠੌਰ॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
‘She saved her favourite by killing the lion with one stroke.
ਤਾਕੌਛਲਿਪਲਮੈਗਈਭਈਔਰਕੀਔਰ॥੨੬॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਛਲ ਕੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ (ਸਥਿਤੀ) ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੨੬॥
‘The ladies attain variable characteristic within a few moments.’(26)
ਜਹਾਗੀਰਪਤਿਸਾਹਤਬਮਨਮੈਭਯਾਉਦਾਸ॥
ਜਹਾਂਗੀਰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਤਦ ਤੋਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
Emperor Jehangir became gloomy in his mind,
ਤਾਸੰਗਸੋਬਾਤੈਂਸਦਾਡਰਤੇਭਯਾਨਿਰਾਸ॥੨੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ (ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਡਰਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਨਿਰਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੭॥
And, then on, always remained cautious of women.(27)(1)

ਨੰਦਮਤੀਤਾਕੋਜਗਕਹਈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਦ ਮਤੀ (ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।

Her husband was a simpleton and he never constrained his wife.(1)
ਤਾਕੇਧਾਮਬਹੁਤਜਨਆਵੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਕ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ
ਨਿਸਦਿਨਤਾਸੋਭੋਗਕਮਾਵੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਸੋਜੜਪਰਾਹਮਾਰੇਰਹਈ॥
ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ

ਜਬਕਬਹੂੰਵਹੁਧਾਮਸਿਧਾਵੈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ,

ਯੌਤਾਸੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਬਚਨਸੁਨਾਵੈ॥
ਤਾਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੀ
Whenever he came back home, his wife would pronounce,
ਯਾਕਹਕਲਿਕੀਬਾਤਨਲਾਗੀ॥
ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਲਿਯੁਗ ਦੀ ਹਵਾ ('ਬਾਤ') ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗੀ।
ਮੇਰੋਪਿਯਾਬਡੋਬਡਭਾਗੀ॥੩॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
‘He is not induced by the modern-day influences, as he has been endowed with noble destiny.’(3)
