ਉਹ (ਰੁਪਇਆ) ਨਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੁਪ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਾ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੯॥
When he could not find, without discernment, he just kept quiet.(9)(1)

ਕਾਜੀਇਕਕਸਮੀਰਮੈਤਾਕੀਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਏਕ॥
ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ (ਰਹਿੰਦਾ) ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ
A Quazi in Kashmir had a wife,
ਜੰਤ੍ਰਮੰਤ੍ਰਅਰੁਬਸੀਕਰਜਾਨਤਹੁਤੀਅਨੇਕ॥੧॥
ਜੋ ਅਨੇਕ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਸੀਕਰਨ (ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ) ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
Who was adept in magical charms, incantations and the faculty of occult.(1)

ਨ੍ਯਾਇਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਕੇਬੀਚਨਿਪੁਨਿਅਤਿ॥
ਜੋ ਨਿਆਂ-ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਿਪੁਣ ਸੀ।
Her husband’s name was Adal Mohammed, and he was very proficient in executing justice.
ਨੂਰਮਬੀਬੀਨਾਰਿਤਵਨਘਰ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂਰਮ ਬੀਬੀ (ਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ

ਜਾਕੇਸਾਥਰਮਤਨਿਤਿਅਤਿਨਰ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਿੱਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਰਦ ਰਮਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੨॥
The wife was known as Noor Bibi, and many people used to make love with her.(2)
ਤਿਨਇਕਜਾਟਭਏਰਤਿਠਾਨੀ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਜੱਟ ਨਾਲ ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ
The wife was known as Noor Bibi, and many people used to make love with her.(2)
ਕਛੁਕਾਜੀਕੀਕਾਨਿਨਮਾਨੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਵੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
Once she was having sex with a Jat without any consideration of the Quazi.
ਹਜਰਤਿਆਇਤਬੈਲਗਿਗਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ ਜੱਟ ਨਾਲ ਰਮਣ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ) ਉਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਹਜ਼ਰਤ (ਕਾਜ਼ੀ) ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਮਿਤ੍ਰਹਿਬਾਧਿਖਾਟਤਰਲਯੋ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਲੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੩॥
Right at the same time Quazi came; she hid the friend under the bed.(3)

ਆਪੁਮੁਸਫਬਾਚਤਭਈਜਾਟਖਾਟਿਤਰਬਾਧਿ॥
ਜੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਜੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਕੁਰਾਨ ('ਮੁਸਫ') ਵਾਚਣ ਲਗ ਪਈ
She started to read Quran and had made Jat to hide underneath the bed.
ਕਾਜੀਕੋਮੋਹਿਤਕਿਯਾਬਾਨਦ੍ਰਿਗਨਕੇਸਾਧਿ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਣ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੪॥
She charmed the Quazi by showering the love-arrows through her eyes.(4)

ਖਾਟਊਪਰਕਾਜੀਬੈਠਾਯੋ॥
ਮੰਜੀ ਉਤੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਠਾਇਆ
ਕਾਮਕੇਲਤਾਸੌਉਪਜਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਗੀ।
Quazi sat down on the bed and then made love with her.
ਤਾਕੀਕਾਨਿਨਆਨਤਮਨੈ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਜੱਟ ਦੀ) ਜ਼ਰਾ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ
ਮੂਰਖਚੋਟਚਟਾਕਨਗਨੈ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਧਰ) ਮੂਰਖ (ਜੱਟ) ਚੋਟਾਂ (ਧਕਿਆਂ) ਦੀ ਚਟ ਚਟ ਗਿਣਨ ਲਗਾ ॥੫॥
She felt no shame, and down there Jat started to count the strokes.(5)

ਕਾਮਭੋਗਕਰਿਕਾਜਿਯਹਿਦੀਨਾਬਹੁਰਿਉਠਾਇ॥
ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
After making love she sent away the Quazi,
ਖਾਟਤਰੇਤੇਕਾਢਿਕਰਿਜਾਟਲਯੋਉਰਲਾਇ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੰਜੀ ਹੇਠੋਂ ਜੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੬॥
Then she got the Jat out from under the bed and hugged him.

ਸੁਨਿਲੈਮੀਤਬਚਨਤੈਮੇਰਾ॥
(ਉਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ-) ਹੇ ਮਿਤਰ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਲੈ।
ਮੈਕਾਜੀਕਹਬਹੁਤਲਬੇਰਾ॥
ਮੈਂ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਧੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਤਾਕਹਬਹੁਜੂਤਿਨਸੌਮਾਰਾ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੁਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਤਾਤੇਉਠਤਤਰਾਕੋਭਾਰਾ॥੭॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੜਾਕ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ (ਆਵਾਜ਼) ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ॥੭॥

ਜੁਵੈਤਰਾਕਪਨੀਨਕੇਪਰੈਤਿਹਾਰੇਕਾਨ॥
ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜੁਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤੜਾਕ (ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼) ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਸੀ,
She said, ‘My friend listen to me, I have beaten Quazi enough,
ਤੌਹਮਸਾਚੁਤਿਸੈਹਨਾਲੀਜਹੋਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਪਛਾਨਿ॥੮॥
ਉਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ (ਗੱਲ) ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਚ ਸਮਝ ਲਵੋ ॥੮॥
‘I hit him with a shoe, that is why there was excessive noise.(8)
ਸਤਿਸਤਿਤਿਨਕਹਾਹਮਸੁਨੇਤਰਾਕੇਕਾਨ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸਚ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੜਾਕ (ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼) ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ।
(He replied,) ‘It is true i heard the noises too.’
ਸੀਸਖੁਰਕਿਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੌਗਏਭੇਦਨਸਕਾਪਛਾਨ॥੯॥
(ਉਹ ਵੀ) ਸਿਰ ਖੁਰਕਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਪਛਾਣ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੯॥
Scratching his head he left for his house and could not discern the mystery.(9)(l)

ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕ ਕਥਾ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ
ਹਰਿਯਾਬਾਦਏਕਤ੍ਰਿਯਗੁਨੀ॥
ਕਿ ਹਰਿਯਾਬਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਗੁਣਵਾਨ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।

ਜਾਨਤਹੈਸਿਗਰੌਜਗਜਿਹਕੌ॥੧॥
ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
Her name was Baadal Kumari; she was known all over the world.(1)
ਏਕਮੁਗਲਤਿਨਧਾਮਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
ਆਛੋਭੋਜਨਤਾਹਿਖਵਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਖੁਆਇਆ।
She invited a Mughal at her house and served him dainty foods.
ਤਾਹਿਭਜਨਕਹਹਾਥਪਸਾਰਾ॥
ਉਸ (ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਨੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ) ਭੋਗ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾਇਆ,
ਤਬਤ੍ਰਿਯਤਾਹਿਜੂਤਿਯਨਮਾਰਾ॥੨॥
ਤਾਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੁਤੀਆਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਗੀ ਗਈ ॥੨॥
She invited him for making love then she beat him with shoes (and he fainted).(2)
ਮਾਰਿਮੁਗਲਕੂਕਤਇਮਿਧਾਈ॥
ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਟਾਪਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਕੂਕਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੌੜੀ
She invited him for making love then she beat him with shoes (and he fainted).(2)
ਯਹਸੁਨਿਬੈਨਪ੍ਰਜਾਮਿਲਿਆਈ॥
ਕਿ (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਏ।
After beating Mughal she ran out shouting, hearing which people gathered.
ਕਰਿਸਮੋਧਤਿਨਧਾਮਪਠਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਾਇਆ
