ਮੋਬਤਿਯਾਕਰਿਸਾਚੁਪਤੀਜੈ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਚ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ ॥੮॥
‘Please open the door of the box believing my talk to be true.(8)

ਜਬਸੰਦੂਕਛੋਰਨਲਗਾਲੈਕੁੰਜੀਕਹਹਾਥ॥
ਜਦ (ਬਨੀਆ) ਕੁੰਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਣ ਲਗਾ,
When, taking the key in his hand, Banyia was going to open the box,
ਬਹੁਰਿਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਐਸੇਕਹਾਬਚਨਪਿਯਾਕੇਸਾਥ॥੯॥
(ਤਾਂ) ਫਿਰ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਚਨ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੯॥
Then that woman said to her husband like this,(9)

ਦੁਹੂੰਹਾਥਤਾਕੇਸਿਰਮਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਮਾਰਦੀ (ਹੋਈ ਬੋਲੀ-)
ਗਈਸਾਹੁਮਤਿਸਗਲਤਿਹਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ! ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਤ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
While slapping on his head with her hands, ‘Have you lost your senses?
ਜੋਯਾਸੌਮੈਭੋਗਕਮੈਹੌ॥
ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਦੀ
ਤੌਤੌਕਹੁਕਿਹਬਾਤਿਬਤੈਹੌ॥੧੦॥
ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਦਸਦੀ ॥੧੦॥
‘If I had made love with him, then would have I told you?’(10)

ਐਸੇਬਚਨਬਖਾਨਿਕਰਿਮੂਰਖਦਿਯਾਉਠਾਇ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ (ਪਤੀ) ਨੂੰ ਉਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
She talked with such a confidence that the idiot left her alone.
ਬਹੁਰਿਰਾਇਸੌਰਤਿਕਰੀਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਹਰਖਉਪਜਾਇ॥੧੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੧੧॥
And then she took the Raja out and had heartfelt enjoyment with(11)
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੋਕੇਲਕਮਾਇਕਰਿਗ੍ਰਿਹਕਹਦਯੋਪਠਾਇ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਘਰ ਵਲ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
After taking ample of pleasure, she sent him to his house,
ਬਹੁਰਿਸੁਖੀਹ੍ਵੈਪੁਰਬਸੀਸਾਹੁਲਯੋਗਰਲਾਇ॥੧੨॥
ਫਿਰ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੇ ਲਗਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਣ ਲਗੀ ॥੧੨॥
And then embraced the Banyia blissfully as well.(12)(1)

ਏਕਜਾਟਦਿਲੀਮਹਿਰਹੈ॥
ਇਕ ਜੱਟ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਨੈਨੌਨਾਮਜਗਤਤਿਹਕਹੈ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਨੈਨੌ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
One Jat, peasant used to live in Delhi. His name was Naino.
ਏਕਨਾਰਿਤਾਕੇਕਲਹਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਕੁਲੱਛਣੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।
ਤਾਕੋਰਹਤਪ੍ਰਾਨਤੇਪ੍ਯਾਰੀ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਉਹ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
He had a quarrelsome wife whom he adored extremely.(1)
ਸ੍ਰੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਰਾਜਮਤੀਤਿਹਨਾਮਾ॥
ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਮਤੀ ਸੀ
ਨੈਨੌਨਾਮਜਟਕੀਬਾਮਾ॥
ਜੋ ਨੈਨੌ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੱਟ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ।
The name of the wife of Naino Jat was Raj Mati.
ਸਹਰਜਹਾਨਾਬਾਦਬਸੈਵੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਜਹਾਨਾਬਾਦ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ
ਦਰਬਵਾਨਦੁਤਿਮਾਨਰਹੈਵੈ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੨॥
She lived in the city of Jehanbad; she was very rich and pretty.(2)
ਸੌਦਾਕਾਰਨਤਾਹਿਪਠਾਯੋ॥
(ਜੱਟ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਦਾ (ਖ਼ਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ) ਭੇਜਿਆ
ਏਕਰਪੈਯਾਹਾਥਦਿਵਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਰੁਪਇਆ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
She was sent for shopping and was given a rupee in her hand.
ਏਕਹੁਤੋਤਿਹਠਾਕੋਜੋਗੀ॥
ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਨਾਗੀਕਰਿਨਾਰੀਤਿਨਭੋਗੀ॥੩॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨੰਗੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
She met a Yogi, who made her naked and had sex with her.(3)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ:

ਛੋਰਿਗਾਠਿਤਾਕੇਸਿਖਨਰੁਪਯਾਲਯੋਚੁਰਾਇ॥
ਉਸ (ਜੋਗੀ) ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਗੰਢ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਰੁਪਇਆ ਚੁਰਾ ਲਿਆ
His disciples opened the knot (of the scarf) and stole her rupee,
ਛਾਰਿਬਾਧਿਤਾਮੈਧਰੀਤਾਕੀਠੌਰਬਨਾਇ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਾਖ (ਦੀ ਚੁਟਕੀ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੪॥
And in its place, tied down some dust.(4)
ਚੌਪਈ॥
ਚੌਪਈ:

ਭੋਗਕਮਾਇਬਹੁਰਿਤ੍ਰਿਯਆਈ॥
ਭੋਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪਰਤੀ
ਸੌਦਾਕਾਰਨਪੁਨਿਘਰਧਾਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੌਦਾ (ਖ਼ਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ) ਫਿਰ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੀ।
After making love the woman got worried about the shopping.
ਲੋਗਨਤੇਅਤਿਹੀਸਰਮਾਈ॥
ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੀ ਹੋਈ,
ਛਾਰਓਰਨਹਿਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਚਲਾਈ॥੫॥
ਪਰ ਰਾਖ ਵਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਗਈ ॥੫॥
Being too ashamed, she did not notice the dust tied in the corner of her scarf.(5)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਬਿਨੁਸੌਦਾਆਵਤਭਈਤੀਰਪਿਯਾਕੇਨਾਰਿ॥
ਉਹ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੌਦਾ (ਖ਼ਰੀਦਿਆਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਗਈ।
Without doing shopping she came back to her husband.
ਛੋਰਿਗਾਠਿਦੇਖੈਕਹਾਤਾਮੈਨਿਕਸੀਛਾਰ॥੬॥
(ਜਦ) ਗੰਢ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰਾਖ ਨਿਕਲੀ ॥੬॥
When she opened the knot, she found the dust there.(6)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਕਰਰੁਪਯਾਮੋਰੇਤੁਮਦਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ-) ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰੁਪਇਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ
ਸੌਦਾਲ੍ਯਾਵਨਕਾਜਪਠਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੌਦਾ (ਖ਼ਰੀਦਣ ਲਈ) ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ।
(She said,) ‘You gave me one rupee and sent me for shopping.
ਰੁਪਯਾਗਿਰਾਰਾਹਮਹਜਾਈ॥
ਰੁਪਇਆ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗ ਗਿਆ
ਲੋਗਬਿਲੋਕਿਲਾਜਮੁਹਿਆਈ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਲਜਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੭॥
The rupee has fallen on the way, and I was embarrassed to see the people watching.(7)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥

ਛਾਰਸਹਿਤਮੈਸੋਗਹਯੋਗੋਦਲਾਜਤੇਡਾਰਿ॥
ਉਥੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਹ ਨਾਲ ਗੋਦ ਭਰ ਲਈ।
‘To save myself from embarrassment I tied down some dust.
ਤੁਮਹਾਥਨਸੋਖੋਜਿਕਰਿਯਾਤੇਲੇਹੁਨਿਕਾਰਿ॥੮॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰੁਪਇਆ ਕਢ ਲਵੋ ॥੮॥
Out of this now you can search and take out the rupee.’(8)
ਮੂੜਨਾਹਕਛੁਨਲਖਾਖੋਜਨਲਾਗਾਛਾਰ॥
(ਉਸ) ਮੂਰਖ ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਖ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਰੁਪਇਆ) ਲੱਭਣ ਲਗਾ।
The foolish husband did not acquesce, and started to search
