ਇਮਿਚੇਰੇਤਿਨਬਚਨਉਚਾਰੋ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਉਸ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਨੇ (ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ) ਕਿਹਾ,
ਸੁਨਿਸਾਹਿਬਤੈਕਹਿਯੋਹਮਾਰੋ॥
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ।
Then the slave went to the master and said, ‘Listen my Lord, I want to tell you,
ਜਬਯਹਿਤੁਹਿਸੋਯੌਲਖਿਲੈਹੈ॥
ਜਦ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖੇਗੀ
Then the slave went to the master and said, ‘Listen my Lord, I want to tell you,
ਤਬਤੇਰੇਦੋਊਅੰਡਚਬੈਹੈ॥੬॥
ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅੰਡਕੋਸ਼ ਚਬ ਲਵੇਗੀ ॥੬॥
‘When she wil1 see you sleeping, she will bite your eggs.’(6)
ਬਤਿਯਾਤੇਪਠਾਨਚਿਤਧਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਪਠਾਣ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਈ
ਵਾਤ੍ਰਿਯਸੋਨਹਿਪ੍ਰਗਟਉਚਾਰੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
The Pathan listened carefully but asked nothing from her.
ਸੰਗਲੈਜਬਤਿਹਪਤਿਸ੍ਵੈਗਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਤੀ ਸੌਂ ਗਿਆ।
ਤਬਸਿਮਰਨਤਿਹਕੌਬਚਭਯੋ॥੭॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਬੋਲ ਯਾਦ ਆਇਆ ॥੭॥
When he took her into the bed and went to sleep, he recollected this.(7)
ਹੇਰਨਿਅੰਡਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਕਰਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਅੰਡਕੋਸ਼ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਹੱਥ ਪਾਇਆ,
ਪਤਿਚਮਕ੍ਯੋਕਰਖੜਗਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਤਾਂ ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਚ ਲਿਆ।
The woman started to grope his eggs. The husband took out a sword,
ਤਬਹੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਤਾਕਹਹਨਿਦਿਯੋ॥
ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਬਹੁਰੋਨਾਸਆਪਨੋਕਿਯੋ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੮॥
And killed the woman, and ruined himself too.(8)

ਖਾਨਪਠਾਨੀਆਪੁਮਹਿਲਰਿਮਰਿਭਏਪਰੇਤ॥
(ਉਹ) ਖ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਠਾਣੀ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੜ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਬਣ ਗਏ।
Khan and Pathani (the wife) both died to become ghosts.
ਨਾਸਦੁਹਨਕੋਹ੍ਵੈਗਯੋਵਾਗੁਲਾਮਕੇਹੇਤ॥੯॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੯॥
Being taken in by the gossip of the slave both were ruined.(9)(1)

ਬਨਿਯਾਏਕਓਡਛੇਰਹਈ॥
ਇਕ ਬਨੀਆ ਓੜਛਾ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਅਧਿਕਦਰਬਜਾਕੇਜਗਕਹਈ॥
ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ ਦਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
In the city of Odchhe, a Banyia, moneylender, used to live; he was very wealthy.
ਤਿਲਕਮੰਜਰੀਤਾਕੀਨਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਿਲਕ ਮੰਜਰੀ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਲਈਜਾਤੇਉਜਿਯਾਰੀ॥੧॥
ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਲਈ ਸੀ ॥੧॥
Tilik Manjri was his wife, who had stolen beauty from the Moon.(1)

ਏਕਤਹਾਰਾਜਾਰਹੈਅਮਿਤਤੇਜਕੀਖਾਨ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਅਮਿਤ ਤੇਜ ਦੀ ਖਾਣ ਸੀ।
There lived a Raja, who was the epitome of beauty,
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਸੂਰਜਿਹਰਿਸਕਰੈਅਧਿਕਆਪੁਤੇਜਾਨਿ॥੨॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ (ਸੁੰਦਰ) ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਈਰਖਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੨॥
And, even, the Moon and the Sun were envious of him.(2)

ਸੋਤ੍ਰਿਯਨਿਰਖਿਰਾਇਛਬਿਅਟਕੀ॥
ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਅਟਕ ਗਈ
ਭੂਲਿਗਈਸਭਹੀਸੁਧਘਟਕੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੁਧ ਬੁਧ ਭੁਲ ਗਈ।
When that woman saw him, she was astounded and lost all her sens
ਅਧਿਕਨੇਹਰਾਜਾਸੌਠਾਨ੍ਰਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ
ਤਾਕਹਭਵਨਆਪਨੋਆਨ੍ਰਯੋ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਆਈ ॥੩॥
She fell in love with the Raja and called him to her house.(3)
ਬੀਰਕੇਤੁਸੋਭੋਗਕਮਾਯੋ॥
ਬੀਰ ਕੇਤੁ (ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ) ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ
ਅਧਿਕਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਮਹਿਸੁਖਉਪਜਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਮਨਾਇਆ।
Raja Bir Ket made love with her and provided her with immense exhilaration.
ਚਿਮਟਿਚਿਮਟਿਤਾਸੌਰਤਿਕਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚਿਮਟ ਚਿਮਟ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕੀਤੀ
Raja Bir Ket made love with her and provided her with immense exhilaration.
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਕੇਭੋਗਨਕਰੀ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤੇ ॥੪॥
She slept with him pleasantly and indulged in various types of sex-acts.(4)
ਕੇਲਕਰਤਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੋਪਤਿਆਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਬਡੇਸੰਦੂਕਬਿਖੈਤਿਹਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਤਾਂ) ਉਸ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
While she was playing about, her husband came, and she enclosed him in huge box.
ਆਪੁਨਾਥਸੌਬਚਨਉਚਾਰੇ॥
ਆਪ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ

ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ ॥੫॥
She told her husband, ‘My dear, listen to me,(5)

ਮੇਰਾ ਯਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਚੋਰ ਇਸ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ।
‘My friend and your thief are shut in this box,
ਛੋਰਿਅਬੈਇਹਦੇਖਿਯੈਕਹੌਸੁਵਾਹਿਕਰਾਹਿ॥੬॥
ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣੇ ਖੋਲ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਚਾਹੋ, ਉਹੀ ਕਰੋ ॥੬॥
‘You open it and do whatever you like.’(6)

ਆਜੁਨਾਰਿਮੋਕੋਇਨਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਅਤੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ) ਅਜ ਇਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
When the Raja heard, he was very much scared and thought, ‘This woman would get me killed today.
ਛੋਰਿਸੰਦੂਕਹਮੈਗਹਿਲੈਹੈ॥
ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਲਏਗਾ
When the Raja heard, he was very much scared and thought, ‘This woman would get me killed today.
ਕਾਢਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਭਏਬਧਕੈਹੈ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ॥੭॥
‘They will open the box and with the sword they will murder me.’(7)
ਕੁੰਜੀਡਾਰਿਸਾਹਢਿਗਦੀਨੀ॥
(ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਦੀ) ਕੁੰਜੀ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਦ੍ਵੈਕਰਜੋਰਿਬੇਨਤੀਕੀਨੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
She gave the key to the Banyia and, with folded hands, requested,
ਜਾਰਸੰਦੂਕਛੋਰਿਲਖਿਲੀਜੈ॥
ਸੰਦੂਕ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਯਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ
