ਆਖਿਮੂੰਦਿਤ੍ਰਿਯਏਕਕੀਦੂਜੀਲਈਬੁਲਾਇ॥
ਇਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
He closed the eyes of the one and called the other and told,
ਅਧਿਕਭੋਗਤਾਸੋਕਿਯਾਇਮਿਕਹਿਦਈਉਠਾਇ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਭੋਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਉਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੫॥
Primarily I make love with you only.(5)
ਐਰੁਚਿਸੋਤੋਸੌਰਮੋਰਮੋਨਯਾਕੇਸੰਗ॥
ਮੈਂ ਰੁਚੀ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਮਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਰਮਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ,
I Just copulate with you. I have sex with no one else,
ਕੋਟਿਕਸਟਤਨਪੈਸਹੋਂਕੈਸੋਈਦਹੈਅਨੰਗ॥੬॥
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਾਮ ਦੇਵ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਤਨਾ ਵੀ ਸਾੜੇ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ (ਸਭ) ਕਸ਼ਟ ਤਨ ਉਤੇ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੬॥
‘Might I be tempted excessively by the Cupid.’(6)

ਅਸਮਾਨ ਕਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗ ਕੇ ਉਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
Sri Asman Kala got up and went away,
ਰੁਕਮਕੇਤੁਨ੍ਰਿਪਐਸੋਚਰਿਤਦਿਖਾਇਕੈ॥
ਰੁਕਮ ਕੇਤੁ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਖਾ ਕੇ।
When the Raja depicted such duplicity.
ਮੂਰਖਰਾਨੀਦੁਤਿਯਨਕਛੁਜਾਨਤਭਈ॥
ਦੂਜੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਰਾਣੀ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਜਾਣ ਨਾ ਸਕੀ
The other Rani did not perceive the situation,
ਹੋਲੁਕਮੀਚਨਕੀਖੇਲਜਾਨਜਿਯਮੈਲਈ॥੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ (ਨਿਰੀ) ਲੁਕਣ-ਮੀਚੀ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਿਆ ॥੭॥
And just kept herself busy in hide-and-seek.(7)

ਰਤਿਕਰਿਕੈਤ੍ਰਿਯਦਈਉਠਾਈ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਸ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਪੁਨਿਵਾਕੀਦੋਊਆਖਿਛੁਰਾਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਦੀ ਪਟੀ) ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
After making love he made her to get up and opened her blind-fold.
ਅਧਿਕਨੇਹਤਿਹਸੰਗਉਪਜਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ,
ਮੂਰਖਨਾਰਿਭੇਦਨਹਿਪਾਯੋ॥੮॥
ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਨਾਰੀ (ਕੁਝ ਵੀ) ਭੇਦ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸਕੀ ॥੮॥
Then he showed great affection to the other one but both the foolish ones could not acquiesces the truth.(8)(1)

ਸੁਨੋਰਾਇਇਕਕਥਾਪ੍ਰਕਾਸੋ॥
(ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-) ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਕਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਤੁਮਰੇਚਿਤਕੇਭ੍ਰਮਹਿਬਿਨਾਸੋ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ) ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਚਿਤ ਦਾ ਭਰਮ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
My Raja, to eliminate false doubts from your mind, I would relate a story.
ਗੈਂਡੇਖਾਡੋਗਰਤਹਰਹੈ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਗੈਂਡੇ ਖਾਂ (ਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਡੋਗਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਫਤੇਮਤੀਤਿਹਤ੍ਰਿਯਜਗਕਹੈ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਫਤੇ ਮਤੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੧॥
There was one Gainde Khan Dogar, whose wife was known as Fateh Mati in the world.(1)
ਤਾਕੇਮਹਿਖਧਾਮਧਨਭਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਪਾਸ ਮੱਝਾਂ (ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ) ਬਹੁਤ ਧਨ ਸੀ।
There was one Gainde Khan Dogar, whose wife was known as Fateh Mati in the world.(1)
ਤਿਨਕੀਕਰਤਿਅਧਿਕਰਖਵਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
He was deemed to be very wealthy in view of his great number of buffaloes, whom he looked after very diligently.
ਚਰਵਾਰੇਬਹੁਤਿਨੈਚਰਾਵਹਿ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਰਵਾਹੇ ਚਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ
He was deemed to be very wealthy in view of his great number of buffaloes, whom he looked after very diligently.
ਸਾਝਪਰੈਘਰਕੋਲੈਆਵਹਿ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੨॥
He kept a few herdsman who used to bring the herd back in the evening.(2)
ਇਕਚਰਵਾਹਾਸੌਤ੍ਰਿਯਅਟਕੀ॥
ਇਕ ਚਰਵਾਹੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਫਸ ਗਈ
He kept a few herdsman who used to bring the herd back in the evening.(2)
ਭੂਲਿਗਈਸਭਹੀਸੁਧਿਘਟਕੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ (ਅਥਵਾ ਘਰ) ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੁਧ ਬੁਧ ਭੁਲ ਗਈ।
The woman fell in love with one herdsman and lost all her senses.
ਨਿਤਿਪ੍ਰਤਿਤਾਸੌਭੋਗਕਮਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਦੀ
ਨਦੀਪੈਰਿਬਹੁਰੋਘਰਆਵੈ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਨਦੀ ਤਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਘਰ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੩॥
She would go across the stream everyday and come back after making love.(3)
ਡੋਗਰਸੋਧਏਕਦਿਨਲਹਿਯੋ॥
ਡੋਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲਗ ਗਈ
She would go across the stream everyday and come back after making love.(3)
ਤੁਰਤੁਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਕੋਪਾਛੋਗਹਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਿਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
One day Dogar got the wind of this and instantly followed her.
ਕੇਲਕਰਤਨਿਰਖੇਤਹਜਾਈ॥
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਬੈਠਰਹਾਜਿਯਕੋਪਬਢਾਈ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ ॥੪॥
When he saw her revelling in sex-play, he flew into a rage.(4)
ਕਰਿਕਰਿਕੇਲਿਸੋਇਤੇਗਏ॥
ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸੌਂ ਗਏ
ਬੇਸੰਭਾਰਨਿਜੁਤਨਤੇਭਏ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਬੇਸੁਰਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Luxuriating so excitingly they fell into sleep and became unaware of environs.
ਸੋਵਤਦੁਹੂੰਅਨਨਾਥਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਸੁਤਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ
Luxuriating so excitingly they fell into sleep and became unaware of environs.
ਕਾਢਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਮਾਰਹੀਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕਢ ਕੇ (ਚਰਵਾਹੇ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੫॥
When he saw them sleeping together, he took out a sword and killed him.(5)
ਦੋਹਰਾ॥
ਦੋਹਰਾ:

ਕਾਟਿਮੂੰਡਤਾਕੋਤੁਰਤਤਹੀਬੈਠਛਪਿਜਾਇ॥
ਉਸ (ਚਰਵਾਹੇ) ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਉਥੇ ਤੁਰਤ ਲੁਕ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ।
After cutting the head of the herdsman, he sat down concealing himself.
ਤਨਿਕਤਾਤਲੋਹੂਲਗੇਬਾਲਜਗੀਅਕੁਲਾਇ॥੬॥
(ਜਦੋਂ) ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਗਰਮ ਲਹੂ ਲਗਾ (ਤਾਂ ਉਹ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਘਬਰਾ ਕੇ ਜਾਗ ਪਈ ॥੬॥
When the warm blood touched her, she woke up and got scared.(6)

ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ
ਅਧਿਕਕੋਪਚਿਤਭੀਤਰਧਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
When she saw her friend without head, she became furious.
ਦਸੋਦਿਸਨਕਾਢੇਅਸਿਧਾਵੈ॥
ਤਲਵਾਰ ਕਢ ਕੇ (ਉਹ) ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਭਜਣ ਲਗੀ
ਹਾਥਿਪਰੈਤਿਹਮਾਰਿਗਿਰਾਵੈ॥੭॥
ਕਿ (ਜੇ ਕੋਈ) ਹੱਥ ਲਗ ਜਾਏ (ਤਾਂ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂ ॥੭॥
She took out a sword and went round to annihilate anyone coming her way.(7)
ਡੋਗਰਛਪ੍ਯੋਹਾਥਨਹਿਆਯੋ॥
ਡੋਗਰ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, (ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਾ।
ਢੂੰਢਿਰਹੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਨਦਰਸਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਲਭਦੀ ਰਹੀ, (ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾ ਪਿਆ।
Dogar was hiding and not visible. In spite of search she could not find anyone.
ਵੈਸੇਹੀਪੈਰਿਨਦੀਕਹਆਈ॥
ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਦੀ ਤਰ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਈ

ਤਹਾਮਿਤ੍ਰਕਹਦਿਯਾਬਹਾਈ॥੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ (ਨਦੀ) ਵਿਚ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੁੜ੍ਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੮॥
After washing away her friend in the stream, she swam back.(8)
