ਜਾਨੁਕਸੋਕਦੂਰਿਕਰਿਡਾਰੇ॥੨॥
ਮਾਨੋ (ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਗ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨॥
The Minister conversed with the Raja so as to eliminate-his afflictions.(2)

ਇਕਜੋਗੀਬਨਮੈਹੁਤੋਦ੍ਰੁਮਮੈਕੁਟੀਬਨਾਇ॥
ਇਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਟੀਆ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
A Yogi lived in the woods in a cottage inside a tree trunk. Through
ਏਕਸਾਹਕੀਸੁਤਾਕੋਲੈਗ੍ਯੋਮੰਤ੍ਰਚਲਾਇ॥੩॥
(ਉਹ) ਇਕ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਕੁੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਵਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ॥੩॥
Some incantation he abducted the daughter of a Shah.(3)

ਕਾਸਿਕਾਰਕੋਸਾਹਿਕਜਨਿਯਤ॥
ਇਕ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਕਾਸਿਕਾਰ (ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ) ਸੀ
ਸਹਜਕਲਾਤਿਹਸੁਤਾਬਖਨਿਯਤ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸਹਿਜ ਕਲਾ ਸੀ।
The trader was known as Kasikar and name of his daughter was Sehaj Kala.
ਤਾਕੋਹਰਿਜੋਗੀਲੈਗਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੋਗੀ ਹਰ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ
ਰਾਖਤਏਕਬਿਰਛਮੈਭਯੋ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪॥
The Yogi had taken her away and put her in a tree in the woods.(4)

ਕਰੀਕਿਵਾਰੀਬਿਰਛਕੀਖੋਦਿਕਿਯੋਤਿਹਗ੍ਰੇਹ॥
(ਇਕ) ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਦ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਤਾਕੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
In the tree, he had carved a house with a window in it.
ਰਾਤਿਦਿਵਸਤਾਕੌਭਜੈਅਧਿਕਬਢਾਇਸਨੇਹ॥੫॥
ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ (ਜੋਗੀ) ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ-ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੫॥
The Yogi made love to her every day and night.(5)
ਮਾਰਿਕਿਵਰਿਯਾਬਿਰਛਕੀਆਪਿਨਗਰਮੈਆਇ॥
ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਦੀ ਤਾਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ
Closing the door he used to go to the town during the day to beg,
ਮਾਗਿਭਿਛਾਨਿਸਿਕੇਸਮੈਰਹਤਤਿਸੀਦ੍ਰੁਮਜਾਇ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਭਿਖਿਆ ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੬॥
And come back to the tree in the evening.(6)
ਜਾਇਤਹਾਆਪਨਕਰੈਹਾਥਨਕੋਤਤਕਾਰ॥
ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਾੜੀ ਵਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
On his return he always clapped his hands and the girl,
ਸੁਨਤਸਬਦਤਾਕੀਤਰੁਨਿਛੋਰਤਕਰਨਕਿਵਾਰ॥੭॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਵਾੜ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੭॥
Hearing the sound, opened the door with her own hands.(7)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਐਸੀਭਾਤਿਨਿਤ੍ਯਜਡਕਰੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮੂਰਖ ਨਿੱਤ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ
ਮਧੁਰਮਧੁਰਧੁਨਿਬੈਨੁਉਚਰੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਿਠੀ ਮਿਠੀ ਧੁਨ ਨਾਲ ਬੀਨ (ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਬੋਲ) ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
Every day he acted like this and (to pass time) played the sweet music on the flute.
ਰਾਜਕਲਾਬਿਨਸੀਸਭਗਾਵੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਜ-ਕਲਾ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ
ਸਹਜਕਲਾਬਿਨਸੀਨਸੁਨਾਵੈ॥੮॥
ਪਰ 'ਸਹਿਜ ਕਲਾ' ਨਸ਼ਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੮॥
Although he displayed all his Yogic feats, Sehaj Kala never commented.(8)

ਤਿਹੀਨਗਰਮੈਅਤਿਚਤੁਰਹੁਤੋਪੁਤ੍ਰਇਕਭੂਪ॥
ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਅਤਿ ਚਤੁਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
In the city there lived the clever son of the Raja.
ਬਲਗੁਨਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਇੰਦ੍ਰਸਮਸੁੰਦਰਕਾਮਸਰੂਪ॥੯॥
ਉਹ ਬਲ, ਗੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਕਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਸੀ ॥੯॥
He was endowed with virtues and power like Indra, and the passion of Cupid.(9)
ਸੁਰੀਆਸੁਰੀਕਿੰਨ੍ਰਨੀਗੰਧਰਬੀਕਿਨਮਾਹਿ॥
ਦੇਵ-ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ, ਦੈਂਤ-ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ, ਕਿੰਨਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਧਰਬਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ
Wives of the deities, demons, celestial musicians, Hindus, and
ਹਿੰਦੁਨੀਤੁਰਕਾਨੀਸਭੈਹੇਰਿਰੂਪਬਲਿਜਾਹਿ॥੧੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਣੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਣੀਆਂ, ਸਭ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੧੦॥
Muslims, all those were entranced with his splendour and charm.(10)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਤਾਕੇਪਾਛੇਧਾਯੋ॥
(ਇਕ ਦਿਨ) ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ (ਜੋਗੀ) ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਗਿਆ,
ਤਿਨਜੁਗਯਹਿਕਛੁਭੇਦਨਪਾਯੋ॥
ਪਰ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਨਾ ਲਗਿਆ।
Without letting him know, the Raja’s son followed the Yogi.
ਜਬਵਹਜਾਇਬਿਰਛਮੈਬਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਉਹ (ਜੋਗੀ) ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੜਿਆ,
ਤਬਛਿਤਪਤਿਸੁਤਦ੍ਰੁਮਪਰਚਰਿਯੋ॥੧੧॥
ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਲੜਕਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੧॥
When the Yogi had entered the tree, the Raja’s son climbed the tree.(11)
ਭਯੋਪ੍ਰਾਤਜੋਗੀਪੁਰਆਯੋ॥
ਸਵੇਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਉਤਰਿਭੂਪਸੁਤਤਾਲਬਜਾਯੋ॥
(ਤਦ) ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ (ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਤੋਂ) ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਤਾੜੀ ਵਜਾਈ।
Next morning when the Yogi went to the town, the Raja’s son came down and clapped his hands.
ਛੋਰਿਕਿਵਾਰਕੁਅਰਿਤਿਨਦੀਨੋ॥
ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਵਾੜ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਤਾਸੌਕੁਅਰਭੋਗਦ੍ਰਿੜਕੀਨੋ॥੧੨॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੋਗ-ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੨॥
And, then, daringly, the prince made love with her.(l2)

ਲੇਹਜਪੇਹਜਭਛਸੁਭਭੋਜਨਭਲੋਖਵਾਇ॥
(ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ) ਦੁੱਧ ('ਪੇਹਜ') ਚਟਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭੋਜਨ (ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ) ਖਵਾਏ
He served her many savoury viands.
ਤਾਸੌਰਤਿਮਾਨਤਭਯੋਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਹਰਖਉਪਜਾਇ॥੧੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ੂਬ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੧੩॥
He was very much delighted and again made love with her.(13)
ਤਾਤ੍ਰਿਯਕੋਜੋਚਿਤਹੁਤੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਲਿਯੋਚੁਰਾਇ॥
ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਚਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਚੁਰਾ ਲਿਆ।
The Prince captured her heart immensely.
ਤਾਦਿਨਤੇਤਿਹਜੋਗਿਯਹਿਚਿਤਤੇਦਿਯੋਭੁਲਾਇ॥੧੪॥
ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ (ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਨੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤ ਤੋਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੪॥
From then on the lady disregarded the Yogi.(l4)
ਅੜਿਲ॥
ਅੜਿਲ:

ਭਲੋਹੇਰਿਕਰਿਬੁਰੌਨਕਬਹੁਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੈ॥
ਚੰਗੀ (ਚੀਜ਼) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਮਾੜੀ (ਚੀਜ਼) ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
When something propitious is available, the adverse one is ignored,
ਚਤੁਰਪੁਰਖੁਕੋਪਾਇਨਮੂਰਖਚਿਤਾਰਿਯੈ॥
ਸਿਆਣੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ) ਮੂਰਖ ਨੂੰ (ਕਦੇ ਵੀ) ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
And is not cared for by the wise-ones.
ਧਨੀਚਤੁਰਅਰੁਤਰੁਨਿਤਰੁਨਿਜੋਪਾਇਹੈ॥
ਧਨਵਾਨ, ਚਤੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਜਵਾਨ (ਪੁਰਸ਼) ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ
Why would a woman, getting a wealthy and wise young man, go to
ਹੋਬਿਰਧਕੁਰੂਪਨਿਧਨਜੜਪੈਕਿਯੋਜਾਇਹੈ॥੧੫॥
(ਫਿਰ ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਬਿਰਧ, ਕੁਰੂਪ, ਨਿਰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਖ (ਪੁਰਸ਼) ਕੋਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਜਾਏਗੀ ॥੧੫॥
A simpleton, poor and unwise old man,(15)

ਸਾਹਸੁਤਾਤਾਸੌਕਹਿਯੋਸੰਗਚਲਹੁਲੈਮੋਹਿ॥
ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ (ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ) ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਚਲ।
The Shah’s daughter requested the prince to take her with him,
ਭੋਗਕਰੋਗੀਜੋਗਤਜਿਅਧਿਕਰਿਝੈਹੋਤੋਹਿ॥੧੬॥
ਮੈਂ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ) ਭੋਗ-ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਰਿਝਾਵਾਂਗੀ ॥੧੬॥
‘I will abandon the Yogi and make passionate love with you.’(16)
ਚੌਪਈ॥

ਤਬਮੈਚਲੌਸੰਗਲੈਤੋਕੌ॥
(ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਤਦ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚਲਾਂਗਾ,
ਜੁਗਯਹਿਬੋਲਿਮਾਨੁਹਿਤਮੋਕੌ॥
ਜੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ (ਤੂੰ) ਜੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਵੇਂਗੀ।
(Said the prince,) ‘Yes, I will take you with me if you call the Yogi for me,
ਆਖਿਮੂੰਦਿਦੋਊਬੀਨਬਜੈਯੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੀਨ ਵਜਾਵੇਗਾ
ਮੋਰੇਕਰਕੇਤਾਲਿਦਿਵੈਯੈ॥੧੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਤਾਲ ਦਿਵਾਵੇਂਗੀ ॥੧੭॥
‘Who will play love-tunes with his both the eyes shut and resonantly clapping his hands.’(17)
ਆਖਿਮੂੰਦਿਦੋਊਬੀਨਬਜਾਈ॥
(ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਜੋਗੀ ਨੇ) ਬੀਨ ਵਜਾਈ।
ਤਿਹਤ੍ਰਿਯਘਾਤਭਲੀਲਖਿਪਾਈ॥
ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ।
(As planned) The women found an auspicious moment, when the
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਕੇਸੰਗਭੋਗਕਮਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ-ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਚੋਟਚਟਾਕਨਤਾਲਦਿਵਾਯੋ॥੧੮॥
(ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਸਪਰ) ਚਟਕਣ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਤਿਆ ॥੧੮॥
Yogi kept his eyes shut and played the love-tunes while she made love with the son of the Raja.(18)

ਅਤਿਰਤਿਕਰਿਤਾਕੋਲਿਯੋਅਪਨੇਹੈਕਰਿਸ੍ਵਾਰ॥
(ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ
The prince, at the end, closed the door behind in the tree.
ਨਗਰਸਾਲਪੁਰਕੋਗਯੋਬਿਰਛਕਿਵਰਿਯਹਿਮਾਰਿ॥੧੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਦਾ ਕਿਵਾੜ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਲਪੁਰ ਨਗਰ ਵਲ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੯॥
Taking the lady with him, he mounted the horse, and left for the city.(19)
ਇਤਿਸ੍ਰੀਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਭੂਪਸੰਬਾਦੇਪੰਚਮੋਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਸਮਾਪਤਮਸਤੁਸੁਭਮਸਤੁ॥੫॥੧੨੦॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
ਇਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੋਪਾਖਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ, ਸਭ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੈ ॥੫॥੧੨੦॥ ਚਲਦਾ॥

ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀਖਾਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The Raja had put the son in the prison.
ਭੋਰਹੋਤਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਸਹਿਤਬਹੁਰੋਲਿਯੌਬੁਲਾਇ॥੧॥
ਸਵੇਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਹਿਤ ਫਿਰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥
And early next morning he called him over.(l)
ਪੁਨਿਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਐਸੇਕਹੀਏਕਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਕੀਬਾਤ॥
ਫਿਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹੀ।
The Minister, then, narrated to him the story of a woman.
ਸੋਸੁਨਿਨ੍ਰਿਪਰੀਝਤਭਯੋਕਹੋਕਹੋਮੁਹਿਤਾਤ॥੨॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ) ਹੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਓ ॥੨॥
Hearing the story, the Raja was enthralled, and requested it to be retold.(2)
ਏਕਬਧੂਥੀਜਾਟਕੀਦੂਜੇਬਰੀਗਵਾਰ॥
(ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ) ਇਕ ਜਟ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ (ਉਹ) ਮੂਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
A peasant had a (pretty) wife she was trammelled by that idiotic.
ਖੇਲਿਅਖੇਟਕਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਇਕਆਨਿਭਯੋਤਿਹਯਾਰ॥੩॥
ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਖੇਡਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਯਾਰ ਆ ਬਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
But a Raja on a hunting spree fell in love with her.(3)

ਮਾਲਮਤੀਜਟਿਯਾਸੌਨੇਹੁਲਗਾਇਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਮਾਲ ਮਤੀ (ਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਜਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਲਗਾ ਲਿਆ
He had fallen in love with the peasant girl called Maal Mati.
