ਇਹੈਰੀਤਿਸਭਜਗਤਕੀਜਾਨਤਹੈਸਭਕੋਇ॥੬॥
ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
Enchanted by an old woman And the whole world knows this habitude.(6)
ਤਰੁਨਿਪਤਰਿਯਾਸੌਰਮੈਮੋਟੇਨਿਕਟਨਜਾਇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪਤਲੇ ਯਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਮਣ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਟੇ ਯਾਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
The lady always enjoyed making love with the slender person but hesitated to go near the fat one.
ਜੌਕਬਹੂੰਤਾਸੌਰਮੇਮਨਭੀਤਰਪਛੁਤਾਇ॥੭॥
ਜੇ ਕਦੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ-ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਛਤਾਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੭॥
She always repented after making love with the old one.(7)
ਰਮਤਪਤਰਿਯਾਸੰਗਹੁਤੀਆਨਿਮੋਟੀਏਯਾਰ॥
(ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਉਹ) ਪਤਲੇ ਯਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਮਣ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ (ਕਿ ਉਪਰੋਂ) ਮੋਟਾ ਯਾਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
Once when she was passionately involved with the young man,
ਪਾਯਨਕੌਖਰਕੋਕਿਯੋਤਵਨਿਤਰੁਨਿਕੇਦ੍ਵਾਰ॥੮॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਰ ਉਤੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਖੜਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੮॥
The fat lover came back and knocked at the door of the lady.(8)
ਕਹਿਯੋਪਤਰੀਏਯਾਰਕਹਜਾਹੁਦਿਵਰਿਯਹਿਫਾਧਿ॥
(ਇਸ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ) ਪਤਲੇ ਯਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੀਵਾਰ ਟਪ ਕੇ ਚਲਾ ਜਾ।
She suggested to the young lover to break the door and
ਜਿਨਕੋਊਪਾਪੀਆਇਹੈਮੁਹਿਤੁਹਿਲੈਹੈਬਾਧਿ॥੯॥
ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪੀ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਮਤਾਂ (ਉਹ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਵੇ ॥੯॥
Run as some sinner had come and would tie them both.(9)
ਅਤਿਰਤਿਤਾਸੌਮਾਨਿਕੈਯਾਰਪਤਰਿਯਹਿਟਾਰਿ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਪਤਲੇ ਯਾਰ) ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
She had made the thin friend to acquiesce to her request.
ਭਰਭਰਾਇਉਠਿਠਾਢਭੀਜਾਨਿਮੋਟਿਯੋਯਾਰ॥੧੦॥
(ਬਾਹਰੋਂ) ਮੋਟੇ ਯਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਘਬਰਾ ਕੇ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਖੜੋ ਗਈ ॥੧੦॥
And she hastily got up and stood before the old man.(10)
ਉਠਤਬੀਰਜਭੂਪਰਗਿਰਿਯੋਲਖ੍ਯੋਮੋਟਿਯੇਯਾਰ॥
ਉਠਣ ਨਾਲ ਬੀਰਜ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ, (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮੋਟੇ ਯਾਰ ਨੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ।
While getting up in haste the drops of semen fell on the floor, which were noticed by the fat-lover,
ਯਾਕੋਤੁਰਤਬਤਾਇਯੈਭੇਦਰਮੈਸੁਕੁਮਾਰਿ॥੧੧॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੀਰਜ ਡਿਗਣ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਛੇਤੀ ਦਸਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੧੧॥
And he asked woman to disclose the mystery.(11)
ਅਧਿਕਤਿਹਾਰੋਰੂਪਲਖਿਮੋਹਿਨਰਹੀਸੰਭਾਰ॥
(ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ) ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਨਾ ਸਕੀ (ਅਰਥਾਤ
She informed, ‘On the sight of your handsome face, I could not control myself.
ਤਾਤੇਗਿਰਿਯੋਅਨੰਗਭੂਅਸਕ੍ਯੋਨਬੀਰਜਉਬਾਰ॥੧੨॥
ਅਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਕਾਮ ਵਸ ਹੋ ਗਈ) ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੀਰਜ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਗਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ) ਸਮੇਟ ਨਾ ਸਕੀ ॥੧੨॥
As a result of this, semen (from my body) dripped down.’(12)
ਫੂਲਿਗਯੋਪਸੁਬਾਤਸੁਨਿਨਿਜੁਸੁਭਮਾਨੈਅੰਗ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮੂਰਖ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਫੁਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਭ (ਸੁੰਦਰ) ਮੰਨਣ ਲਗਾ
That fool, with animal instinct, was over exhilarated thinking,
ਮੋਹਿਨਿਰਖਿਛਬਿਬਾਲਕੋਛਿਤਪਰਗਿਰਿਯੋਅਨੰਗ॥੧੩॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਛਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਾਲਿਕਾ (ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਦਾ ਬੀਰਜ ('ਅਨੰਗ') ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੧੩॥
‘Seeing me, the lassie became so excited that her semen dripped down on the earth.’ (13)(1)

ਬੰਦਿਸਾਲਨ੍ਰਿਪਪੂਤਪਠਾਯੋ॥
(ਕਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀਖਾਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਭਈਭੋਰਫਿਰਿਪਕਰਿਮਗਾਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਵੇਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਬੁਲਵਾ ਲਿਆ।
The King had put his son in the prison and in the morning he called him back.
ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਪ੍ਰਭੁਸੋਬਚਨਉਚਰੇ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਬਚਨ ਕਹੇ।
ਭੂਪਤਿਸੁਧਾਸ੍ਰਵਨੁਜਨੁਭਰੇ॥੧॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ (ਬਚਨ) ਸੁਣੇ ਜੋ ਮਾਨੋ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧॥
The Minister conversed again and the Raja paid attention.(1)

ਮਹਾਨੰਦਮੁਰਦਾਰਕੀਹੁਤੀਬਹੁਰਿਯਾਏਕ॥
ਮਹਾਨੰਦ (ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਕ) ਨਕਾਰਾ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ,
A poor man called Mahan Nand had a wife,
ਤਾਸੋਰਤਿਮਾਨਤਹੁਤੇਹਿੰਦੂਤੁਰਕਅਨੇਕ॥੨॥
ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੇਕ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਕਾਮ-ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੨॥
With whom numerous Hindus and Muslims used to indulge in making love.(2)
ਮਹਾਨੰਦਮੁਰਦਾਰਕੀਘੁਰਕੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਕੋਨਾਮ॥
(ਉਸ) ਨਿਕੰਮੇ ਮਹਾਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਘੁਰਕੀ ਸੀ
Mahan Nand’s wife was known as Ghurki (literally scolding),
ਕੋਪਸਮੈਨਿਜੁਨਾਹਕੋਘੁਰਕਤਆਠੋਜਾਮ॥੩॥
ਜੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਘੁਰਕਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
She always scolded her husband.(3)
ਏਕਚਛਤਾਕੋਰਹੈਬਿਰਧਿਆਪੁਤ੍ਰਿਯਜ੍ਵਾਨ॥
ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਅੱਖ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਜਵਾਨ ਸੀ।
He was blind of one eye and much older in age than his wife.
ਸੋਯਾਪਰਰੀਝਤਨਹੀਯਾਕੇਵਾਮਹਿਪ੍ਰਾਨ॥੪॥
ਉਹ (ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਰੀਝਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ (ਪਰ) ਉਸ (ਬੁੱਢੇ) ਦੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ॥੪॥
The wife despised him but he felt as if she was his life and soul.(4)
ਕਾਜਕਵਨਹੂੰਕੇਨਿਮਿਤਿਗਯੋਧਾਮਕੋਧਾਇ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ (ਮਹਾਨੰਦ) ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਲ ਗਿਆ।
As soon as he would go out of the house to work, his wife would get
ਤਰੁਨਪੁਰਖਸੋਤਰੁਨਿਤਹਰਹੀਹੁਤੀਲਪਟਾਇ॥੫॥
ਉਥੇ (ਕਿਸੇ) ਜਵਾਨ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਵਿਚ ਮਗਨ ਸੀ ॥੫॥
Entangled with a young man to make love.(5)
ਮਹਾਨੰਦਆਵਤਸੁਨ੍ਯੋਲਯੋਗਰੇਸੌਲਾਇ॥
(ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਮਹਾਨੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਗਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ
When she would notice Mahan Nand coming back, she would
ਅਤਿਬਚਿਤ੍ਰਬਾਤੈਕਰੀਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਹਰਖਉਪਜਾਇ॥੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ (ਮਨ ਮੋਹਣੀਆਂ) ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ॥੬॥
Ascertain to embrace him and felicitate him with pleasant talks and ravishing action.(6)
ਕਾਨਦੋਊਗਹਿਰੇਗਹੇਚੁੰਮਿਏਕਦ੍ਰਿਗਲੀਨ॥
ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਬ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਅੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੰਮ ਲਿਆ।
She would kiss his both the ears and eyes, and, finding a right moment
ਇਹਛਲਸੌਛਲਿਕੈਜੜਹਿਯਾਰਬਿਦਾਕਰਿਦੀਨ॥੭॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੂੰ (ਅੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਇਸ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਛਲ ਕੇ ਯਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੭॥
With trickery, would bid goodbye to her (hidden) lover.(7)
ਸ੍ਰਵਨਨਕਛੁਖਰਕੋਸੁਨੈਇਕਚਖੁਸਕੈਨਹੇਰਿ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖੜਕਾ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਪਰ ਇਕ ਅੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ ਨਾ ਸਕਿਆ।
Mahan Nand’s ears would be alerted with some noise (of the lover
ਪਰੋਸਦਾਮੋਰੇਰਹੈਲਹੈਨਭੇਵਅਧੇਰ॥੮॥
ਉਹ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ (ਦੁਆਰ) ਉਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੮॥
Leaving) but, being blind of one eye, he would not fathom the mystery.(8)
ਹੇਰਿਰੂਪਤਵਬਸਿਭਈਮੋਮਨਬਢ੍ਯੋਅਨੰਗ॥
(ਪਤਨੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ) ਰੂਪ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮ ਵੱਧ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The wife would express to him, ‘I was overwhelmed with your sensuality,
ਚੂੰਮਿਨੇਤ੍ਰਤਾਤੇਲਯੋਅਤਿਹਿਤਚਿਤਕੇਸੰਗ॥੯॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਅਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ) ਨੇਤਰ ਚੁੰਮ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
‘And for that I kissed your ears and eyes in passion.’(9)
ਮਹਾਨੰਦਇਹਬਾਤਸੁਨਿਫੂਲਿਗਯੋਮਨਮਾਹਿ॥
ਮਹਾਨੰਦ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਫੁਲ ਗਿਆ
Hearing this Mahan Nand would get exhilarated,
ਅਧਿਕਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਤਾਸੋਕਰੀਭੇਦਪਛਾਨ੍ਯੋਨਾਹਿ॥੧੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੀਤੀ, (ਪਰ ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਲੇ) ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ॥੧੦॥
And without understanding the enigma, would revel in making love.(10)
ਇਤਿਸ੍ਰੀਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਭੂਪਸੰਬਾਦੇਚਤੁਰਥੇਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਸਮਾਪਤਮਸਤੁਸੁਭਮਸਤੁ॥੪॥੧੦੧॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀਖਾਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The Raja had, then, put the son in the prison.
ਭੋਰਹੋਤਅਪਨੇਨਿਕਟਿਬਹੁਰੋਲੀਯੋਬੁਲਾਇ॥੧॥
ਸਵੇਰ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਫਿਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥
And early next morning he called him over.(1)

ਭਈਭੋਰਫਿਰਿਪਕਰਮੰਗਾਯੋ॥
ਸਵੇਰ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਮੰਗਵਾ ਲਿਆ।
The Raja sent his son to the prison and early next morning called him back.
ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਪ੍ਰਭੁਸੋਬਚਨਉਚਾਰੇ॥
