ਅਉਰਸਾਤਹੂੰਲੋਕਭੀਤਰਦੇਹੁਅਉਰਬਤਾਇ॥
ਹੋਰ ਸੱਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਕੋਈ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਰਾਜਾ) ਦਸ ਦਿਓ,
ਜਉਨਜਉਨਨਜੀਤਿਆਨ੍ਰਿਪਰੋਸਕੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਇ॥੧੨੯॥
ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਤਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੨੯॥
When they were asked to tell as to who is that king in the seven words, whom the king (Parasnath) has not conquered his ire ?129.
ਦੇਖਿਦੇਖਿਰਹੇਸਬੈਤਰਕੋਨਦੇਤਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਰਹੇ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਪੂਰਵਕ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਐਸਕਉਨਰਹਾਧਰਾਪਰਦੇਹੁਤਾਹਿਉਚਾਰ॥
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੌਣ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਹ ਦਸ ਦੇਣ।
All of them looked with bowed heads and reflected as to who was that king on the earth whose name might be mentioned
ਏਕਏਕਬੁਲਾਇਭੂਪਤਿਪੂਛਸਰਬਬੁਲਾਇ॥
ਇਕ ਇਕ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਪੁਛਿਆ।
ਕੋਅਜੀਤਰਹਾਨਹੀਜਿਹਠਉਰਦੇਹੁਬਤਾਇ॥੧੩੦॥
ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜਿਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਠਿਕਾਣਾ ਦਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ॥੧੩੦॥
The king called each one of them and asked him ad to who was he who he who had remained unconquered?130.

ਏਕਭੂਪਤਿਉਚਰੋਸੁਨਿਲੇਹੁਰਾਜਾਬੈਨ॥
ਇਕ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ।
ਜਾਨਮਾਫਕਰੋਕਹੋਤਬਰਾਜਰਾਜਸੁਨੈਨ॥
ਜੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ, ਤਦ ਹੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ।
One of the kings said, “If you assure the safety of my life, then I can say
ਏਕਹੈਮੁਨਿਸਿੰਧੁਮੈਅਰੁਮਛਕੇਉਰਮਾਹਿ॥
(ਇਕ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ)। ਇਕ ਮੁਨੀ ਮੱਛ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੋਹਿਰਾਵਬਿਬੇਕਭਾਖੌਤਾਹਿਭੂਪਤਿਨਾਹਿ॥੧੩੧॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਰਾਜੇ ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਦਾ ਭੂਪ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੩੧॥
“There is a fish in the sea, in whose belly there is a sage I am speaking the truth ask him and do not ask any of the other kings.131.
ਏਕਦ੍ਯੋਸਜਟਧਰੀਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੀਨੁਛੀਰਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਜਟਾਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਛੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਚਿਤ੍ਰਰੂਪਹੁਤੀਤਹਾਇਕਨਾਰਿਨਾਗਰਭੇਸ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਰ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀ ਚਤੁਰ ਭੇਸ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਸੀ।
“O king! one day Shiva wearing matted locks persistently entered the ocean, where he saw an unparalleled fasciating woman
ਤਾਸੁਦੇਖਿਸਿਵੇਸਕੋਗਿਰਬਿੰਦਸਿੰਧਮਝਾਰ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ('ਸਿਵੇਸ'-ਦੱਤ) ਦਾ ਵੀਰਜ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ।
ਮਛਪੇਟਮਛੰਦ੍ਰਜੋਗੀਬੈਠਿਹੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਬਾਰ॥੧੩੨॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਮਛਿੰਦ੍ਰ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯੋਗੀ (ਉਸ ਵੀਰਜ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਬਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੱਛ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੨॥
Seeing her, his semen was discharged within the ocean and because of that the Yogi Matsyendra is seated within the belly of a fish.132.
ਤਾਸੁਤੇਚਲਪੁਛੀਐਨ੍ਰਿਪਸਰਬਬਾਤਬਿਬੇਕ॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਗੱਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੁਛਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਏਨਤੋਹਿਬਤਾਇਹੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਭਾਖਿਹੋਜੁਅਨੇਕ॥
(ਉਹੀ) ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਦਸੇਗਾ, ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! (ਉਹ) ਹੋਰ ਅਨੇਕ (ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੀ) ਦਸੇਗਾ।
“O king! go and ask him, all these kings, who have been invited by you will not be able to tell you anything
ਐਸਬਾਤਸੁਨੀਜਬੈਤਬਰਾਜਰਾਜਅਵਤਾਰ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸੁਣੀ,
ਸਿੰਧੁਖੋਜਨਕੋਚਲਾਲੈਜਗਤਕੇਸਬਜਾਰ॥੧੩੩॥
(ਤਦ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਲਭਣ ਲਈ ਤੁਰ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੩੩॥
When the sovereign heard this he went in search of that fish in the ocean taking with him all the nets of the world.133.
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਮੰਗਾਇਜਾਲਨਸੰਗਲੈਦਲਸਰਬ॥
ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਜਾਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਗਵਾ ਕੇ, ਸਾਰੇ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ
ਜੀਤਦੁੰਦਭਦੈਚਲਾਨ੍ਰਿਪਜਾਨਿਕੈਜੀਅਗਰਬ॥
ਜਿਤ ਦਾ ਨਗਾਰਾ ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਾਜਾ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਗਰਬ ਪਤਾ ਚਲਦਾ ਸੀ।
The king proudly moved sounding his drums, taking various types of nets and his army with him
ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਮਿਤ੍ਰਕੁਮਾਰਿਸੰਪਤਸਰਬਮਧਿਬੁਲਾਇ॥
ਮੰਤਰੀ, ਮਿਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਮਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਸੰਪੱਤੀ ਸਹਿਤ (ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਵਿਚ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ
ਸਿੰਧਜਾਰਡਰੇਜਹਾਤਹਾਮਛਸਤ੍ਰੁਡਰਾਇ॥੧੩੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਲ ਪਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੧੩੪॥
He called all this ministers, friends, princes etc., and threw his nets here and there in the ocean all the fish were frightened.134.
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਨਮਛਕਛਪਅਉਰਜੀਵਅਪਾਰ॥
ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਮੱਛ, ਕੱਛੂਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਪਾਰ
ਬਧਿਜਾਰਨਹ੍ਵੈਕਢੇਤਬਤਿਆਗਿਪ੍ਰਾਨਸੁਧਾਰ॥
ਜੀਵ ਜਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਬਾਹਰ) ਕਢੇ, ਤਦ (ਉਹ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
Various types of fish, tortoises and other beings, came out being entrapped in nets and began to die
ਸਿੰਧੁਤੀਰਗਏਜਬੈਜਲਜੀਵਏਕੈਬਾਰ॥
(ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸੰਕਟ ਦੀ ਘੜੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਇਕੋ ਵਾਰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਸ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
ਐਸਭਾਤਿਭਏਬਖਾਨਤਸਿੰਧੁਪੈਮਤਸਾਰ॥੧੩੫॥
(ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਮਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੇ ॥੧੩੫॥
Then all the beings of water went before the god of ocean and described the cause of their worry.135.
ਬਿਪਕੋਧਰਿਸਿੰਧੁਮੂਰਤਿਆਇਯੋਤਿਹਪਾਸਿ॥
ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਪਾਸ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਰਤਨਹੀਰਪ੍ਰਵਾਲਮਾਨਕਦੀਨਹੈਅਨਿਆਸ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਬਿਨਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਰਤਨ, ਹੀਰੇ, ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਣਕ ਲਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੇ (ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ)
The ocean dame before the king in the guise of Brahmin and offering gems, diamonds, pearls etc. to the king, he said :
ਜੀਵਕਾਹਿਸੰਘਾਰੀਐਸੁਨਿਲੀਜੀਐਨ੍ਰਿਪਬੈਨ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! (ਮੇਰੀ) ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਮਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
ਜਉਨਕਾਰਜਕੋਚਲੇਤੁਮਸੋਨਹੀਇਹਠੈਨ॥੧੩੬॥
ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਹੋ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸਾਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੬॥
“Why are you killing the being ?, because the purpose for which you have come here will not be fulfilled here.”136.

ਛੀਰਸਾਗਰਹੈਜਹਾਸੁਨਰਾਜਰਾਜਵਤਾਰ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਰਾਜਾ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਜਿਥੇ ਛੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ,
ਮਛਉਦਰਮਛੰਦ੍ਰਜੋਗੀਬੈਠਹੈਬ੍ਰਤਧਾਰਿ॥
(ਉਥੇ) ਮੱਛ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਮਛਿੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੋਗੀ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ।
“O king! the Yogi Matsyendra is sitting in contemplation in the belly of the fish in milk-ocean
ਡਾਰਿਜਾਰਨਿਕਾਰਤਾਕਹਿਪੂਛਲੇਹੁਬਨਾਇ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਲ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਕਢੋ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਛ ਲਵੋ।
“Take him out with your net and ask him, O king!
ਜੋਕਹਾਸੋਕੀਜੀਐਨ੍ਰਿਪਇਹੀਸਤਿਉਪਾਇ॥੧੩੭॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹੀ ਉਪਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩੭॥
Do whatever I have said this is the real measure?”137.
ਜੋਰਿਬੀਰਨਨਾਖਸਿੰਧਹਆਗਚਾਲਸੁਬਾਹ॥
(ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਘ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਗੇ ਤੁਰ ਚਲਿਆ।
The king gathering together lakhs of his warriors moved away further from the ocean
ਹੂਰਪੂਰਰਹੀਜਹਾਤਹਾਜਤ੍ਰਤਤ੍ਰਉਛਾਹ॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਹੂਰਾਂ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਧਰ ਉਧਰ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਛਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
Where the heavenly damsels were moving here and there enthusiastically
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਬਜੰਤ੍ਰਬਾਜਤਅਉਰਘੁਰਤਨਿਸਾਨ॥
ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਵਾਜੇ ਵਜਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਧੌਂਸੇ ਗੂੰਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
They all reached there sounding their drums and playing instruments of various types,
ਛੀਰਸਿੰਧੁਹੁਤੋਜਹਾਤਿਹਠਾਮਪਹੁਚੇਆਨਿ॥੧੩੮॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਛੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੀ, ਉਥੇ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ॥੧੩੮॥
Where there was the milk-ocean.138.
ਸੂਤ੍ਰਜਾਰਬਨਾਇਕੈਤਿਹਮਧਿਡਾਰਿਅਪਾਰ॥
ਸੂਤਰ ਦਾ ਜਾਲ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਅਪਾਰ (ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਵਿਚ ਪਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਅਉਰਜੀਵਘਨੇਗਹੇਨਵਿਲੋਕਯੋਸਿਵਬਾਰ॥
ਹੋਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ ਪਕੜ ਲਏ ਪਰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਬਾਲਕ (ਮਛਿੰਦ੍ਰ) ਨਾ ਦਿਸਿਆ।
The nets of cotton were prepared and thrown into the ocean, in which many other beings were caught, but the son of Shiva (Matsyendra) was not seen
ਹਾਰਿਹਾਰਿਫਿਰੇਸਬੈਭਟਆਨਿਭੂਪਤਿਤੀਰ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ (ਜਾਲ ਪਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ) ਹਾਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਗਏ
ਅਉਰਜੀਵਘਨੇਗਹੇਪਰਸੋਨਪਾਵਫਕੀਰ॥੧੩੯॥
(ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੇ) ਹੋਰ ਜੀਵ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਕੜੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਫਕੀਰ (ਜੋਗੀ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧੩੯॥
All the warriors, greatly tired came before the king and said, “Many other beings have been caught, but that sage is nowhere to be found.”139.
ਮਛਪੇਟਿਮਛੰਦ੍ਰਜੋਗੀਬੈਠਹੈਬਿਨੁਆਸ॥
ਮੱਛ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਮਛਿੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੋਗੀ ਆਸ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾਰਭੇਟਸਕੈਨਵਾਕੋਮੋਨਿਅੰਗਸੁਬਾਸ॥
ਜਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੋਹ ਤਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੋਨੀ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Yogi is sitting desireless in the belly of the fish and this can’t entrap him
