ਸੁਣੋ ਜੀ! ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੇ ਵਧਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
To what extent should I describe it, because I fear the book will become voluminous,
ਤਉਸੁਧਾਰਿਬਿਚਾਰਕਥਾਕਹਿਕਹਿਸੰਛੇਪਬਖਾਨੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬਖਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Therefore I am improving thoughtfully the story and describing it in brief
ਜੈਸੇਤਵਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਕੇਬਲਤੇਜਥਾਸਕਤਿਅਨੁਮਾਨੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਦੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਯਥਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
I hope that with the strength of your wisdom, you will assess it accordingly
ਜਬਪਾਰਸਇਹਬਿਧਿਰਨਮੰਡ੍ਰਯੋਨਾਨਾਸਸਤ੍ਰਚਲਾਏ॥
ਜਦ ਪਾਰਸ (ਨਾਥ) ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਪਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਏ।
When Parasnath waged war in this way, using various types of weapons, then those who were killed were killed,
ਹਤੇਸੁਹਤੇਜੀਅਲੈਭਾਜੇਚਹੁੰਦਿਸਗਏਪਰਾਏ॥
(ਜੋ) ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ, ਸੋ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ, (ਬਾਕੀ) ਜਿੰਦ ਬਚਾ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਵਲ ਖਿਸਕ ਗਏ।
But some of them saved their lives running away in al the four directions
ਜੇਹਠਤਿਆਗਿਆਨਿਪਗਲਾਗੇਤੇਸਬਲਏਬਚਾਈ॥
ਜੋ (ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਹਠ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ (ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਥ ਦੇ) ਪੈਰੀਂ ਆ ਪਏ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਚਾ ਲਏ ਗਏ।
Those who abandoned their persistence and clung to the feet of the king, they were saved
ਭੂਖਨਬਸਨਬਹੁਤੁਬਿਧਿਦੀਨੇਦੈਦੈਬਹੁਤਬਡਾਈ॥੧੧੪॥
ਗਹਿਣੇ, ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਆਦਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੧੪॥
They were given ornaments, garments etc., and were greatly appreciated in many ways.40.114.

ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਥ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ।
ਆਪਨਪ੍ਰਚੁਰਜਗਤਮਤੁਕੀਨਾਦੇਵਦਤਕੋਟਾਰ੍ਯੋ॥
ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਤ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਤਾਤ੍ਰੇ ਦਾ ਮਤ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Parasnath fought a dreadful war and removing the sect of Dutt, he propagated extensively his own sect
ਲੈਲੈਸਸਤ੍ਰਅਸਤ੍ਰਨਾਨਾਬਿਧਿਭਾਤਿਅਨਿਕਅਰਿਮਾਰੇ॥
ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਾਰੇ।
He killed many enemies in various ways with his arms and weapons
ਜੀਤੇਪਰਮਪੁਰਖਪਾਰਸਕੇਸਗਲਜਟਾਧਰਹਾਰੇ॥
ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਾਰਸ (ਨਾਥ) ਦੇ (ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਜਿਤ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਟਾਧਾਰੀ (ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ) ਹਾਰ ਗਏ।
In the battle all the warriors of Parasnath were victorious and all those with matted locks were defeated
ਬੇਖਬੇਖਭਟਪਰੇਧਰਨਗਿਰਿਬਾਣਪ੍ਰਯੋਘਨਘਾਏ॥
(ਵਖਰੇ ਵਖਰੇ) ਭੇਸਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਝੜੀ ਨਾਲ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
With the infliction of arrows, the warriors wearing many garbs fell down upon the earth
ਜਾਨੁਕਪਰਮਲੋਕਪਾਵਨਕਹੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਨਪੰਖਲਗਾਏ॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਪਰਮ ਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਿਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੰਭ ਲਗ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ।
It appeared that they were preparing themselves to fly to the Supreme world attaching wings to their bodies
ਟੂਕਟੂਕਹ੍ਵੈਗਿਰੇਕਵਚਕਟਿਪਰਮਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਹੁਪਾਈ॥
(ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੇ) ਕਵਚ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
The supremely impressive armours were torn into fragments and caused to fall down
ਜਣੁਦੈਚਲੇਨਿਸਾਣਸੁਰਗਕਹਕੁਲਹਿਕਲੰਕਮਿਟਾਈ॥੧੧੫॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਧੌਂਸੇ ਵਜ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੁਲ ਦੇ ਕਲੰਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਕੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੧੫॥
It appeared that the warriors were leaving the mark of blemish of their clan on the earth and moving towards heaven.41.115.

ਜਾਨੁਕਭਈਦੂਸਰਕਰਣਾਰਜੁਨਭਾਰਥਸੋਹੁਇਬੀਤੋ॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਲੜਾਈ ਹੋ ਗੁਜ਼ਰੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
Parasnath won the war and he appeared like Karan or Arjun
ਬਹੁਬਿਧਿਚਲੈਪ੍ਰਵਾਹਿਸ੍ਰੋਣਕੇਰਥਗਜਅਸਵਬਹਾਏ॥
ਲਹੂ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਚਲੇ ਹਨ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਰਥ, ਹਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਰੁੜ੍ਹਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
Various streams of blood flowed and in that current the charious, horses and elephant also flowed
ਭੈਕਰਜਾਨਭਯੋਬਡਆਹਵਸਾਤਸਮੁੰਦਰਲਜਾਏ॥
ਭਿਆਨਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸੱਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵੀ ਲਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
All the seven ocean felt shy before that current of blood (of war)
ਜਹਤਹਚਲੇਭਾਜਸੰਨਿਆਸੀਬਾਣਨਅੰਗਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ॥
ਬਾਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢੇ ਕਟੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਭਜ ਤੁਰੇ ਹਨ।
Having been struck by the arrows on their limbs, the Sannyasis ran away hither and thither
ਜਾਨੁਕਬਜ੍ਰਇੰਦ੍ਰਕੇਭੈਤੇਪਬਸਪਛਸਿਧਾਰੇ॥
(ਇੰਜ ਮਾਲੂਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਵਜ੍ਰ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਰਬਤ ਖੰਭਾਂ ਸਹਿਤ ਉਡ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ।
Like the mounts flying away, getting fearful of Indra’s Vajra, attaching wings to themselves
ਜਿਹਤਿਹਗਿਰਤਸ੍ਰੋਣਕੀਧਾਰਾਅਰਿਘੂਮਤਭਿਭਰਾਤ॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਲਹੂ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਡਿਗਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਹੋਏ ਘੁੰਮਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The current of blood was flowing on all sides and the wounded warriors were roaming here and there
ਨਿੰਦਾਕਰਤਛਤ੍ਰੀਯਧਰਮਕੀਭਜਤਦਸੋਦਿਸਜਾਤ॥੧੧੬॥
ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਸਾਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਲ (ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ) ਭਜੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੧੬॥
They were running away in all the ten directions and were slandering the discipline of Kshatriyas.42.116.

ਜਿਤਨੇ ਕੁ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਬਚ ਗਏ,
ਤ੍ਰਾਸਮਰਤਫਿਰਿਬਹੁਰਿਨਆਏਹੋਤਭਏਬਨਬਾਸੀ॥
ਡਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਬਨਬਾਸੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Those Sannysis who survived, they did not return because of fear and went to the forest
ਦੇਸਬਿਦੇਸਢੂੰਢਬਨਬੇਹੜਤਹਤਹਪਕਰਿਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥
ਦੇਸਾਂ, ਬਿਦੇਸਾਂ, ਬਨਾਂ, ਬੀਹੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਲਭ ਲਭ ਕੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟੇ ਹਨ।
ਖੋਜਿਪਤਾਲਅਕਾਸਸੁਰਗਕਹੁਜਹਾਤਹਾਚੁਨਿਮਾਰੇ॥
ਪਾਤਾਲ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਕੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਚੁਣ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟੇ ਹਨ।
They were picked up from various countries and the forests and killed and searching for them in the sky and the nether-world, they were all destroyed
ਇਹਬਿਧਿਨਾਸਕਰੇਸੰਨਿਆਸੀਆਪਨਮਤਹਮਤਾਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਤ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਆਪਨਨ੍ਯਾਸਸਿਖਾਇਸਬਨਕਹੁਆਪਨਮੰਤ੍ਰਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਢੰਗ ਸਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
In this way, killing the Sannyasis, Parasnath propagated his own sect and extended his own mode of worship
ਜੇਜੇਗਹੇਤਿਨਤੇਘਾਇਲਤਿਨਕੀਜਟਾਮੁੰਡਾਈ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਘਾਇਲ ਪਕੜੇ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਟਾਵਾਂ ਮੁੰਨਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
ਦੋਹੀਦੂਰਦਤਕੀਕੀਨੀਆਪਨਫੇਰਿਦੁਹਾਈ॥੧੧੭॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਤਾਤ੍ਰੇ ਦੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਤੋਂ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ (ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਥ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਫਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧੧੭॥
The wounded ones, who were caught, their matted locks were shaved off and ending the impact of Dutt, Parasnath extended his his fame.117.

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੋਲੀ ਖੇਡੀ।
In this way, Holi was played with the sword
ਸੋਭਤਢਾਲਮਾਲਡਫਮਾਲੈਮੂਠਗੁਲਾਲਨਸੇਲੇ॥
ਢਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਤਾਰ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਡਫ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੰਗਤੀ ਸ਼ੋਭ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਛੇ ਗੁਲਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਠ ਹੋਣ।
The shields took the place of tabors and the blood became gulal (red colour)
ਜਾਨੁਤੁਫੰਗਭਰਤਪਿਚਕਾਰੀਸੂਰਨਅੰਗਲਗਾਵਤ॥
ਬੰਦੂਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਪਿਚਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਾਣੋ ਜੋ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
The arrows were inflicted on the limbs of the warriors like the syringes
ਨਿਕਸਤਸ੍ਰੋਣਅਧਿਕਛਬਿਉਪਜਤਕੇਸਰਜਾਨੁਸੁਹਾਵਤ॥
(ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਨੋ ਕੇਸਰ ਸੋਭ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
With the flowing out of blood, the beauty of the fighters increased as if they had splashed saffron on their limbs
ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤਭਰੀਜਟਾਅਤਿਸੋਭਤਛਬਹਿਨਜਾਤਕਹ੍ਯੋ॥
ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਬੜੀਆਂ ਜਟਾਵਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ੋਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਛਬੀ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
The glory of the matted locks saturated with blood is indescribable
ਮਾਨਹੁਪਰਮਪ੍ਰੇਮਸੌਡਾਰ੍ਯੋਈਂਗਰਲਾਗਿਰਹ੍ਯੋ॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੰਧੂਰ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਲਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
It appeared that with great love, the gulal was splashed in them
ਜਹਤਹਗਿਰਤਭਏਨਾਨਾਬਿਧਿਸਾਗਨਸਤ੍ਰੁਪਰੋਏ॥
ਬਰਛੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰੋਤੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਜਿਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਜਾਨੁਕਖੇਲਧਮਾਰਪਸਾਰਿਕੈਅਧਿਕਸ੍ਰਮਿਤਹ੍ਵੈਸੋਏ॥੧੧੮॥
(ਇੰਜ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਧਮਾਰ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਥਕੇ ਹੋਏ (ਪੈਰ) ਪਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੧੮॥
The enemies stringed with lances were lying hither and thither as if they had been sleeping after the tiring play of Holi.118.

ਕੈਕੈਦੂਰਦਤਕੇਮਤਕਹੁਰਾਜਜੋਗਦੋਊਲੀਨਾ॥
ਦੱਤਾਤ੍ਰੇ ਦੇ ਮਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਗ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਏ।
In this way, Parasnath ruled for one thousand years and ending the sect of Dutt, he extended his Rajayoga
ਜੇਜੇਛਪੇਲੁਕੇਕਹੂੰਬਾਚੇਰਹਿਰਹਿਵਹੈਗਏ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ (ਜਟਾਧਾਰੀ) ਲੁਕੇ ਛਿਪੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹੀ ਬਚੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਐਸੇਏਕਨਾਮਲੈਬੇਕੋਜਗਮੋਰਹਤਭਏ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
He, who his himself, remained a follower of Dutt and lived without recognition
