ਸੁਨਿਭੂਪਤਿਯਾਜਗਤਮੈਦੁਖੀਰਹਤਹਰਿਸੰਤ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਹਰਿ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ (ਹਰਿ-ਜਨ) ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਅੰਤਿਲਹਤਹੈਮੁਕਤਿਫਲਪਾਵਤਹੈਭਗਵੰਤ॥੨੪੫੫॥
(ਪਰ) ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਰੂਪ ਫਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੪੫੫॥
“O king! listen, the saints of God live in agony in this world, but ultimately they attain salvation and realise the Lord.2455.

ਰੁਦ੍ਰਭਗਤਜਗਮਾਹਿਸੁਖਕੇਦਿਵਸਸਦਾਭਰੈ॥
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਭੋਗਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਪਰ ਉਹ) ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਮਰੈਫਿਰਿਆਵਹਿਜਾਹਿਫਲੁਕਛੁਲਹੈਨਮੁਕਤਿਕੋ॥੨੪੫੬॥
ਫਿਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਰੂਪ ਫਲ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੨੪੫੬॥
“The devotees of the Rudra always pass their life in the world comfortably, but they cannot attain salvation and always remain in transmigration.”2456.

ਸੁਨਲੈਭਸਮਾਗਦਦੈਤਹੁਤੋਤਿਹਨਾਰਦਤੇਜਬਹੀਸੁਨਿਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ!) ਸੁਣੋ, ਇਕ ਭਸਮਾਂਗਦ ਦੈਂਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਨਾਰਦ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ।
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਕੀਸੇਵਕਰੀਰੁਚਿਸੋਬਹੁਤੇਦਿਨਰੁਦ੍ਰਹਿਕੋਰਿਝਵਾਯੋ॥
(ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤਕ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਰੁਚੀ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
When the demon named Bhasmangad heard about the kindness of Rudra from Narada, he served Rudra single-mindedly and pleased him
ਆਪਨੇਮਾਸਹਿਕਾਟਿਕੈਆਗਮੈਹੋਮਕਰਿਯੋਨਰਤੀਕੁਡਰਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣਾ ਮਾਸ ਕਟ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਅਗਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਤੀ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਡਰਿਆ।
ਹਾਥਧਰੋਜਿਹਕੇਸਿਰਪੈਤਿਹਛਾਰਉਡੈਸੁਇਹੈਬਰੁਪਾਯੋ॥੨੪੫੭॥
'(ਮੈਂ) ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਪਰ ਹੱਥ ਧਰਾਂ, ਉਹ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਡ ਜਾਵੇ', ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੪੫੭॥
He without any fear, cut down his flesh and performed homa in fire, he was bestowed this boon that on the head of whomsoever he would place his hand, he would be reduced to ashes.2457.
ਹਾਥਧਰੋਜਿਹਕੈਸਿਰਪੈਤਿਹਛਾਰਉਡੈਜਬਹੀਬਰੁਪਾਯੋ॥
'ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਧਰਾਂ, ਉਹ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਡ ਜਾਵੇ', ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਇਹ) ਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਹੀਕਉਪ੍ਰਥਮੈਹਤਿਕੈਜੜਚਾਹਤਤਿਉਤਿਹਤ੍ਰੀਅਛਿਨਾਯੋ॥
(ਤਦ) ਉਸ ਮੂਰਖ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਥਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ।
When he obtained the boon of placing his hand and reducing the person to ashes, then that fool in the first place wanted to reduce Rudra to ashes and seize Parvati
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਭਜਿਯੋਤਬਆਏਹੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਜੂਆਇਕੈਸੋਛਲਸੋਜਰਵਾਯੋ॥
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਭਜ ਚਲਿਆ। ਤਦ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਆ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਛਲ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੜਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Then Rudra ran and with deception, he caused the reduction of Bhumasura
ਭੂਪਕਹੋਬਡੋਸੋਤੁਮਹੀਕਿਬਡੋਹਰਹੈਜਿਹਤਾਹਿਬਚਾਯੋ॥੨੪੫੮॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਦਸੋ, ਉਹ (ਰੁਦ੍ਰ) ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੪੫੮॥
Therefore O king! you may tell me now whether you are great or God is great, who protected you.2458.

ਬੈਠੇਹੁਤੇਰਿਖਿਸਾਤਤਹਾਇਕਠੇਤਿਨਕੇਜੀਅਮੈਅਸਆਯੋ॥
ਉਥੇ ਸੱਤ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਇਆ
Once the seven sages sat together, thought in their mind that Rudra was good,
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਭਲੋਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਕਿਧੋਬਿਸਨੁਜੂਪੈਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈਜਿਹਕੋਠਹਰਾਯੋ॥
ਕਿ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
Brahma was good and Vishnu was the best of all
ਤੀਨੋਅਨੰਤਹੈਅੰਤਿਕਛੂਨਹਿਹੈਇਨਕੋਕਿਨਹੂਨਹੀਪਾਯੋ॥
ਤਿੰਨੋ ਅਨੰਤ ਹਨ, (ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਕੁਝ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ (ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The play of all the three is infinite, none had been able to understand their mystery
ਭੇਦਲਹੋਇਨਕੋਤਿਨਮੈਭ੍ਰਿਗਬੈਠੋਹੁਤੋਸੋਊਦੇਖਨਧਾਯੋ॥੨੪੫੯॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਇਕ) ਭ੍ਰਿਗੂ (ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ) ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਾਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ) ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਪਾ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ। (ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ ॥੨੪੫੯॥
In order to understand their tone, Bhrigu, one of the sages sitting there, went away,2459.
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਕੇਧਾਮਗਯੋਕਹਿਓਤੁਮਜੀਵਹਨੋਤਿਹਸੂਲਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹੋ। (ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੇ ਵਿਗੜ ਕੇ) ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੌੜਿਆ)।
He went to the house of Rudra, the sage said to Rudra, “You destroy the beings,” hearing this Rudra took up his trident
ਗਯੋਚਤੁਰਾਨਨਕੇਚਲਿਕੈਇਹਬੇਦਰਰੈਇਹਜਾਨਨਪਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਭ੍ਰਿਗੂ) ਚਲ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ (ਦੇ ਘਰ) ਗਿਆ (ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ) ਇਹ ਵੇਦ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ (ਭੇਦ) ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
Then that sage went to Brahma and said, “You repeat the reading of Vedas uselessly,” Brahma also did not like these words
ਬਿਸਨਕੇਲੋਕਗਯੋਸੁਖਸੋਵਤਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋਰਿਖਿਲਾਤਹਿਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇ ਔਖੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਉਹ) ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਗਿਆ। (ਉਹ) ਸੁਖ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ। ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਲਤ ਮਾਰੀ।
