ਅਬਆਇਸਜੋਹੋਇਸੁਕਰੋ॥
ਹੁਣ ਜੋ ਆਗਿਆ ਹੋਏ, ਓਹੀ ਕਰਾਂ।
ਹੇਰਿਖਿਤੁਮਰੇਪਾਇਨਪਰੋ॥
ਹੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਓ! ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
“O sages! I fall at your feet, now I shall do whatever is desired by you
ਅਬਆਇਸਜੋਹੋਇਸੁਕੀਜੈ॥
ਹੁਣ ਜੋ ਆਗਿਆ ਹੋਏਗੀ, ਓਹੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
ਹੇਰਿਖਿਬਾਤਹਿਸਤਿਪਤੀਜੈ॥੨੩੯੧॥
ਹੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਓ! ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ, ਤਸਲੀ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ ॥੨੩੯੧॥
O great sage! Trust my words, whatever you will ask me to do, I shall do that.”2391.
ਰਿਖਿਬਾਚ॥
ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਤਬਮਿਲਿਰਿਖਿਨਇਹੈਜੀਅਧਾਰੋ॥
ਤਦ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਧਾਰਿਆ
ਏਕਸਤ੍ਰੁਹੈਬਡੋਹਮਾਰੋ॥
(ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ) ਸਾਡਾ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਲਲਨਾਮਹਲਧਰਤਿਹਮਾਰੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਨਾਂ 'ਬਲਲ' ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ! ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਓ।
ਮਾਨੋਤਿਹਪੈਕਾਲਪਚਾਰੋ॥੨੩੯੨॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) (ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੩੯੨॥
Then the sages thought in their mind that there was a very great enemy of their, whose name was Balal, “O Balram! destroy him, manifesting yourself as Death.”2392.
ਹਲੀਬਾਚ॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਕਹਾਠਉਰਤਿਹਸਤ੍ਰੁਕੀਕਹੋਰਿਖਿਨਕੇਰਾਜ॥
ਹੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਰਾਜ! ਉਸ ਵੈਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਕਿਥੇ ਹੈ?
ਮੋਹਿਬਤਾਵੈਜਾਹਿਕਉਤਾਹਿਹਨੋਅਉਆਜੁ॥੨੩੯੩॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਦਿਓ, ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਅਜ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ॥੨੩੯੩॥
“O sages! where does that enemy live? Tell me his place, so that I may kill him today.”2393.

ਤਬਇਕਰਿਖਨੈਜਾਇਬਤਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਇਕ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦਸੀ,
ਤਹਾਠਉਰਹੋਸਤ੍ਰੁਬਨਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੇ (ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ) ਥਾਂ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
Then one of the sages showed him the place, where the enemy was living
ਜਬਹਲਧਰਿਸੋਸਤ੍ਰਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ,
ਹਮਸੰਗਿਲਰੁਇਹਭਾਤਿਪਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥੨੩੯੪॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਗਾਰਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੜ ॥੨੩੯੪॥
Balram saw the enemy, and challenged him for fighting.2394.
ਸੁਨਤਬਚਨਤਬਸਤ੍ਰੁਰਿਸਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ
ਹਾਥਗਾਗਨੋਯਾਪਰਿਆਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਨਾ (ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ) ਉਸ (ਬਲਰਾਮ) ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਇਆ।
Hearing the challenge, the enemy was infuriated and on this side, these people, with the signs of their hands, told Balram everything
ਹਲਧਰਿਸੰਗਿਜੁਧਤਿਹਕੀਓ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਜਿਹਸਮਠਉਰਬੀਰਨਹੀਬੀਓ॥੨੩੯੫॥
ਜਿਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ॥੨੩੯੫॥
That enemy fought the battle with Balram, there has been no mughty warrior like Balram.2395.
ਬਹੁਤਜੁਧਤਿਹਠਾਦੁਹੂੰਧਾਰੋ॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ
ਦੁਹੂੰਸੂਰਤੇਏਕਨਹਾਰੋ॥
(ਪਰ) ਦੋਹਾਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਹਾਰਿਆ।
A dreadful battle was fought at that place, and none of both the warriors was defeated
ਜਉਥਕਿਜਾਹਿਬੈਠਤਹਰਹੈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਥਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ (ਤਾਂ) ਉਥੇ ਬੈਠ ਜਾਂਦੇ
ਮੁਛਿਤਹੋਹਿਜੁਧੁਫਿਰਚਹੈ॥੨੩੯੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਗ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੩੯੬॥
They would sit when they felt tired and on becoming unconscious, they expressed their wish to continued fighting.2396.
ਫਿਰਿਦੋਊਗਾਜਿਗਾਜਿਰਨਪਾਰੈ॥
ਫਿਰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਗਜ ਵਜ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਪਸਬੀਚਗਦਾਬਹੁਮਾਰੈ॥
ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਗਦਾ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Then again they thundered and continued the fight and began to strike their maces on each other
ਠਾਢਰਹੈਥਿਰੁਪੈਗਨਟਰੈ॥
(ਅਡੋਲ) ਖੜੋਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਿਛੇ ਪੈਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਰਦੇ।
ਮਾਨਹੁਰਿਸਿਪਰਬਤਦੋਊਲਰੈ॥੨੩੯੭॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਦੋ ਪਰਬਤ ਲੜਦੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੩੯੭॥
They were stable and did not recede even one step, it seemed that two mountains were fighting against each other.2397.
ਦੋਊਭਟਅਭ੍ਰਨਜਿਉਗਾਜੈ॥
ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਬਦਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਗਜਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਬਚਨਸੁਨਤਜਿਨਕੇਜਮਲਾਜੈ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਯਮਰਾਜ ਵੀ ਲਜਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Both the warriors were thundering like clouds, hearing their voices, even Yama got fearful
ਅਤਿਹੀਬੀਰਰਿਸਹਿਮੈਭਰੈ॥
(ਦੋਵੇਂ) ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ
ਦੋਊਬੀਰਕ੍ਰੋਧਸੋਲਰੈ॥੨੩੯੮॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵੀਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੩੯੮॥
Both the warriors were fighting with each other filled with anger.2398.
ਜਿਨਕਉਤੁਕਦੇਖਨਸੁਰਆਏ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੌਤਕ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਆਏ ਹਨ,
ਭਾਤਿਨਭਾਤਿਬਿਵਾਨਬਨਾਏ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ) ਨੇ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਮਾਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
In order to see this wonderful spectacle, even the gods came in their various types of air-vehicles
ਉਤਰੰਭਾਦਿਕਨਿਰਤਹਿਕਰੈ॥
ਉਧਰ ਰੰਭਾ ਆਦਿ (ਅਪੱਛਰਾਵਾਂ) ਨਾਚ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ
ਇਤਤੇਬੀਰਭੂਮਿਮੈਲਰੈ॥੨੩੯੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਇਧਰ ਯੋਧੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੩੯੯॥
On that side the heavenly damsel like Rambha began to dance and on this side, these warriors were fighting on the earth.2399.
ਬਹੁਤਗਦਾਤਨਲਗੇਨਜਾਨੈ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਦਾ ਦੇ (ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ) ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ
ਮੁਖਤੇਮਾਰਹਿਮਾਰਬਖਾਨੈ॥
(ਪਰ ਉਹ) ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
They were not caring for the blows of the maces and were uttering the shouts of “kill, kill” from their mouths
ਰਨਕੀਛਿਤਤੇਪੈਗੁਨਟਰੈ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਕਦਮ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਟਲਦੇ ਹਨ
ਰੀਝਿਰੀਝਿਦੋਊਭਟਲਰੈ॥੨੪੦੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਰੀਝ ਰੀਝ ਕੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਯੋਧੇ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੪੦੦॥
They were not receding even one step in the battlefield and both of them were fighting delightfully.2400.
ਸਵੈਯਾ॥
ਸਵੈਯਾ:

ਜੁਧੁਭਯੋਬਹੁਤੋਤਿਹਠਾਤਬਮੂਸਲਕਉਮੁਸਲੀਜੂਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਥਾਂ (ਜਦ) ਬਹੁਤ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਤਦ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਲ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ।
ਕੈਬਲਹਾਥਨਦੋਊਨਕੇਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਤਕਿਘਾਹਿਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਯੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦੋਹਾਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ (ਵੈਰੀ ਉਤੇ) ਝਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
After the continuation of war for a long time, Balram held his huge mace and powerfully struck it with both the hands on the enemy
ਲਾਗਤਘਾਇਹਕੈਮਰਿਗਯੋਅਰਿਅੰਤਕਕੇਫੁਨਿਧਾਮਿਸਿਧਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸਟ ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਮਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।
When the blow struck him, he died and went to the next world
