ਅਤੇ ਨੇਮਖ੍ਵਾਰਨ (ਨੈਮਿਸ਼ਾਰਣਯ ਤੀਰਥ) ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਆਇਤਹਾਨਾਵਨਇਨਕਯੋ॥
ਉਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਚਿਤਕੋਸੋਕਦੂਰਕਰਿਦਯੋ॥੨੩੮੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਚਿਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗ਼ਮ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੨੩੮੨॥
On coming there he took a bath and relinquished the sorrow of his mind.2382.

ਰੋਮਹਰਖਨਥੋਤਹਾਸੋਊਆਯੋਤਹਦਉਰਿ॥
(ਰਿਸ਼ੀ) ਰੋਮਹਰਖ (ਰੋਮਹਰਸ਼) ਉਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। (ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਇਆ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ) ਉਥੇ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਹਲੀਮਦਰਾਪੀਤਥੋਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਤਾਹੀਠਾਉਰਿ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ (ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
Romharsh reached there running, where Balram was drinking wine
ਸੋਊਆਇਠਾਢਭਯੋਤਹਾਜੜਯਾਹਿਸਿਰਨਨਿਵਾਇਕੈ॥
ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਉਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਖੜੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ (ਬਲਰਾਮ) ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਨਾ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ।
ਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰਕੁਪਿਯੋਕਮਾਨਕਰਿਲੈਮਾਰਿਯੋਤਿਹਧਾਇਕੈ॥੨੩੮੩॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰਤ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੩੮੩॥
On coming there, he stood there with bowed head and Balram coming speedily, taking his bow and arrows in his hands, in great rage, killed him.2383.

ਸਭਰਿਖਿਉਠਿਠਾਢੇਤਬਭਏ॥
ਤਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਖੜੋ ਗਏ।
ਆਨੰਦਬਿਸਰਚਿਤਕੇਗਏ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਤ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਕਰਿਖਿਥੋਤਿਨਿਐਸਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ,
ਬੁਰਾਕੀਓਹਲਧਰਿਦਿਜਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥੨੩੮੪॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬੁਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ (ਜੋ) ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੩੮੪॥
Abandoning the peace of their mind, all the sages stood up and one of them said, “O Balram! you have performed a bad act in killing a Brahmin.”2384.
ਤਬਹਲਧਰਪੁਨਿਐਸਉਚਰਿਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਫਿਰ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ,
ਬੈਠਰਹਿਓਕਿਉਨਹਮਤੇਡਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬੈਠਾ ਰਿਹਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਡਰਿਆ।
ਤਬਮੈਕ੍ਰੋਧਚਿਤਮੈਕੀਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ
ਮਾਰਿਕਮਾਨਸੰਗਇਹਦੀਯੋ॥੨੩੮੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੩੮੫॥
Then Balram said, “I was sitting here, why was he not frightned of me? Therefore, getting enraged, I killed him, by taking up my bow and arrows.2385.

ਛਤ੍ਰੀਕੋਪੂਤਥੋਕੋਪਭਰੇਤਿਹਨਾਸਕਯੋਬਿਨਤੀਸੁਨਿਲੀਜੈ॥
ਮੈਂ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਾਂ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ; ਮੇਰੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ।
“I was the son of a Kshatriya and was filled with ire, therefore I destroyed him
ਠਾਢਭਏਉਠਕੈਰਿਖਿਸੋਜੜਬੈਠਿਰਹਿਓਕਹਿਓਸਾਚਪਤੀਜੈ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਆਏ ਤੇ ਖੜੋ ਗਏ, ਪਰ) ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੈਠਾ ਰਿਹਾ। (ਮੈਂ) ਸਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤਸਲੀ ਕਰ ਲਵੋ।
” Balram, making this request, stood up and said, “I am telling the truth that this fool sat uselessly near me
ਬਾਤਵਹੈਕਰੀਐਸੰਗਛਤ੍ਰਨਜਾਕੇਕੀਏਜਗਭੀਤਰਜੀਜੈ॥
ਛਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਓਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਉਣਾ ਮਿਲੇ।
Only such a behaviour should be adopted with Kshatriyeas, so that may be able to live in the world
ਤਾਹੀਤੇਮੈਬਧੁਤਾਕੋਕੀਯੋਸੁਅਬੈਮੋਰੀਭੂਲਛਿਮਾਪਨਕੀਜੈ॥੨੩੮੬॥
ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੁਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ ॥੨੩੮੬॥
Therefore I have killed him, but now forgive me for this lapse.”2386.
ਰਿਖਬਾਚਹਲੀਸੋ॥
ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ:

ਸਭ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਕਹੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਤਿਹਦਿਜਕੀਸਾਖੀ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਉਸ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਦੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹਬਾਲਕਥਾਪਿਰੋਹਹਰੋ॥
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ (ਪਿਉ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਉਤੇ) ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿਓ।
ਬਹੁਰੋਜਾਇਤੀਰਥਸਭਕਰੋ॥੨੩੮੭॥
ਫਿਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ (ਦੀ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ) ਕਰੋ ॥੨੩੮੭॥
All the sages, bearing testimony to the killing of the Brahmin, said to Balram, “O boy! now you removing all your anger, go to all the pilgrim-stations for a bath.”2387.

ਚਾਰੋਈਬੇਦਮੁਖਾਗ੍ਰਜਹੋਇਹੈਤਾਸੁਤਕੋਬਰੁਐਸੋਦੀਯੋ॥
'ਚਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਵੇਦ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹ ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਯਾਦ ਹੋਣਗੇ', ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He (Balram) gave such a boon to the son of that Brahmin that all the four Vedas be retained in his memory
ਸੋਊਐਸੇਪੁਰਾਨਲਗਿਯੋਰਟਨੇਮਨੋਤਾਤਸੋਊਤਿਹਫੇਰਿਜੀਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ, ਮਾਨੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਫਿਰ ਜੀ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
He began to recite the Puranas etc. in such a way that a appeared his father had been resuscritated
ਚਿਤਆਨੰਦਕੈਸਭਹੂਰਿਖਿਕੇਮਨਕਉਜਿਹਕੀਸਮਕਉਨਬੀਯੋ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਨੰਦਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਆਨੰਦਿਤ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਸਿਰਨ੍ਯਾਇਤਿਨੈਸੁਖਪਾਇਕੇਤੀਰਥਨਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੁਰਾਮਹਿਪੈਡਲੀਯੋ॥੨੩੮੮॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ, (ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ (ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਬਲਰਾਮ (ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪੈਂਡੇ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੩੮੮॥
Now there was no person blissful like him and in this way bowing his head and comforting him, the heroic Balram started his pilgrimage.2388.
ਗੰਗਹਿਸਿੰਧੁਜਹਾਮਿਲਿਯੋਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰਤਹਾਚਲਿਨ੍ਰਹਾਯੋ॥
ਗੰਗਾ ਜਿਥੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਥੇ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
Balram, in the first place, took a bath in the Ganges
ਫੇਰਿਤ੍ਰਿਬੈਨੀਮੈਕੈਇਸਨਾਨਦੈਦਾਨੁਬਲੀਹਰਿਦੁਆਰਸਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਵੇਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ, ਬਲਰਾਮ ਹਰਿਦੁਆਰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।
Then taking a bath at triveni, this her reached Hardwar
ਨ੍ਰਹਾਇਤਹਾਪੁਨਿਬਦ੍ਰੀਕਿਦਾਰਗਯੋਅਤਿਹੀਮਨਮੈਸੁਖਪਾਯੋ॥
ਉਥੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਬਦ੍ਰੀ-ਕੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
Taking his bath there, he went to Badri-Kedarnath comfortable
ਅਉਰਗਨੋਕਹਲਉਜਗਕੇਸਭਤੀਰਥਕੈਤਿਹਠਉਰਹਿਆਯੋ॥੨੩੮੯॥
ਹੋਰ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਗਿਣੀਏ, (ਸਭ ਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੩੮੯॥
Now what more should be enumerated? He reached at all the pilgrim-stations.2389.

ਫੇਰਿਨੈਮਖ੍ਵਾਰਨਮਹਿਆਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਫਿਰ ਨੇਮਖ੍ਵਾਰਨ (ਨੇਮਿਸ਼ਾਰਣਯ) ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ,
ਆਇਰਿਖਿਨਕਉਮਾਥਨਿਵਾਯੋ॥
ਆ ਕੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਇਆ।
Then again he came back to Nemisharan and he bowed his head before all the sages
ਤੀਰਥਕਹਿਯੋਮੈਸਭਹੀਕਰੇ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਕਿਹਾ, ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਿਆ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਪੂਰਵਕ (ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ) ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਬਿਧਿਪੂਰਬਜਿਉਤੁਮਉਚਰੇ॥੨੩੯੦॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੨੩੯੦॥
Then he said, “Just as you had said, I have taken bath at all the pilgrim-stations according to Shastric injunctions.2390.
