ਪੁਤ੍ਰਲਉਪੌਤ੍ਰਲਉਪੈਤਿਨਕੇਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੇਅਨਤੈਨਹਿਮਾਗਨਧਾਏ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਤਰਿਆਂ ਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕ (ਫਿਰ) ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮੰਗਣ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਏ।
They were given so much charity that their sons and grandsons never begged any more
ਪੂਰਨਜਗਿਕਰਾਇਕੈਯੌਸੁਖੁਪਾਇਸਭੈਮਿਲਿਡੇਰਨਆਏ॥੨੩੫੪॥
ਯੱਗ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣਿਆਂ) ਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਏ ॥੨੩੫੪॥
In this way, completing the Yajna, all of them returned to their homes.2354.

ਜਗ੍ਯਕਾਜਬੋਲੇਜਿਤੇਸਭੈਬਿਦਾਕਰਿਦੀਨ॥੨੩੫੫॥
ਤਾਂ ਯੱਗ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੩੫੫॥
When these efficient kings came to their home, then they bade farewell to all the invitees for the Yajna.2355.

ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਦੇਹ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮਦੇਵ ਵੀ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਲਜਿਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Seeing his gold-like body, the god of love felt shy
ਭੂਖਨਅੰਗਸਜੇਅਪਨੇਸਭਆਵਤਭੀਦ੍ਰੁਪਤੀਸਿਰਿਨਿਐਕੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਜ਼ੇਵਰ ਸਜਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਕੇ (ਉਥੇ) ਆ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਕੈਸੇਬਿਵਾਹਿਓਹੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਤੁਮੈਸਭਮੋਹਕਹੋਤੁਮੈਆਨੰਦਕੈਕੈ॥੨੩੫੬॥
(ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਛਦੀ ਹੈ) ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੂਰਵਕ (ਸਾਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਿੱਤਾਂਤ) ਦਸੋ ॥੨੩੫੬॥
Wearing her ornaments on her limbs Draupadi also came and stayed there and she asked Krishna and Rukmani about their marriage.2356.

ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੨੩੫੭॥

ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਰ ਦਾ ਯੱਗ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੌਰਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਪੰਡੁਕੈਪੁਤ੍ਰਨਜਗਕੀਯੋਤਿਹਤੇਇਨਕੋਜਗਮੈਜਸੁਛਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਥੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ) ਪੰਡੁ (ਰਾਜੇ) ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਯੱਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਯਸ਼ ਪਸਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
Seeing the Yajna of Yudhishtar, Kauravas got angry in their mind and said, “Because of the performance of Yajna by Pandavas, their fame has spread throughout the world
ਐਸੋਨਲੋਕਬਿਖੈਹਮਰੋਜਸੁਹੋਤਭਯੋਕਹਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼ ਲੋਕ (ਭਾਵ ਜਗਤ) ਵਿਚ ਸਾਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ। (ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ (ਕਹਿ ਕੇ) ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ
ਭੀਖਮਤੇਸੁਤਸੂਰਜਤੇਸੁਨਹੀਹਮਤੇਐਸੋਜਗਹ੍ਵੈਆਯੋ॥੨੩੫੮॥
ਕਿ ਨਾ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਕੋਲੋਂ, ਨਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਕਰਨ) ਪਾਸੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਯੱਗ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੩੫੮॥
We have the mighty heroes like Bhishma and Karan with us, even then we could not perform such a Yajna and we could not be renowned in the world.”2358.

'ਮਯ' ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਦੈਂਤ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਭਾ ਬਣਾਈ,

ਲਜਤਹੋਇਰਹੇਅਮਰਾਵਤਿਐਸੀਪ੍ਰਭਾਇਹਭੂਮਹਿਆਈ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ) ਇੰਦਰਪੁਰੀ ਲਜਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਗਈ।
He, on reaching there constructed such a Court-Building, on seeing which the abode of gods felt shy
ਬੈਠਿਬਿਰਾਜਤਭੂਪਤਹਾਜਦੁਬੀਰਲੀਏਸੰਗਚਾਰੋਈਭਾਈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਰ ਉਥੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Yudhishtar was seated there alongwith his four brothers and Krihsna,
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਤਿਹਆਭਹਿਕੀਉਪਮਾਮੁਖਤੇਬਰਨੀਨਹੀਜਾਈ॥੨੩੫੯॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਭਾ (ਭਾਵ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ) ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋਂ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੨੩੫੯॥
The poet Shyam says that that elegance was indescribable.2359
ਨੀਰਢਰੇਕਹੂਚਾਦਰਛਤਨਛੂਟਤਹੈਕਹੂਠਉਰਫੁਹਾਰੇ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਚਾਦਰ (ਵਰਗੀਆਂ) ਛੱਤਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਟਪਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਥਾਂਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਫ਼ਵਾਰੇ ਚਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
In the Court-construction, somewhere there were fountains of water on the roofs and somewhere the water was flowing
ਮਲਭਿਰੈਕਹੂਮਤਕਰੀਕਹੂਨਾਚਤਬੇਸਯਨਕੇਸੁਅਖਾਰੇ॥
ਕਿਧਰੇ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਘੁਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮਸਤ ਹਾਥੀ (ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ਅਤੇ (ਕਿਧਰੇ) ਵੇਸਵਾਵਾਂ ਅਖਾੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਚ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Somewhere the wrestlers were fighting, and somewhere the intoxicated elephants were clashing among themselves, somewhere the female dancers were dancing
ਬਾਜਲਰੈਕਹੂਸਾਜਸਜੈਭਟਛਾਜਤਹੈਅਤਿਡੀਲਡਿਲਾਰੇ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਬਾਜ਼ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਸਾਜ ਸਜਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਜਾਵਟ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ) ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਤਕੜੀ ਡੀਲ ਡੌਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ੂਰਵੀਰ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Somewhere the horses were colliding and somewhere sturdy and shapely warriors looked splendid
ਰਾਜਤਸ੍ਰੀਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥਤਹਾਜਿਮਤਾਰਨਮੈਸਸਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਉਚਾਰੇ॥੨੩੬੦॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ (ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨੩੬੦॥
Krishna was there like moon among the stars.2360.
ਜੋਤਿਲਸੈਕਹੂਬਜ੍ਰਨਕੀਕਹੂਲਾਲਲਗੇਛਬਿਮੰਦਿਰਪਾਵੈ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਹੀਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਮਾਨ ਹੈ, ਕਿਤੇ ਲਾਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੜ੍ਹੇ ਮੰਦਿਰ (ਭਵਨ) ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਪਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Somewhere the splendour of stones and somewhere of jewels was seen
ਨਾਗਨਕੋਪੁਰਲੋਕਪੁਰੀਸੁਰਦੇਖਿਪ੍ਰਭਾਜਿਹਸੀਸਨਿਵਾਵੈ॥
ਨਾਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਗਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Seeing the elegance of precious stones, the abodes of gods bowed there heads
ਰੀਝਿਰਹੇਜਿਹਦੇਖਿਚਤੁਰਮੁਖਹੇਰਿਪ੍ਰਭਾਸਿਵਸੋਲਲਚਾਵੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਰੀਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਕ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਲਚਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
Seeing the magnificence of that Court-Building, Brahma was getting pleased and Shiva was also allured in his mind
ਭੂਮਿਜਹਾਤਹਾਨੀਰਸੋਲਾਗਤਨੀਰਜਹਾਨਹੀਚੀਨਬੋਆਵੈ॥੨੩੬੧॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਜਲ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਜਲ ਹੈ (ਉਹ) ਪਛਾਣ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ॥੨੩੬੧॥
Where there was earth, there was deception of water there, and somewhere there was water, it could not be ascertained.2361.

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭਾ ਬਣਵਾ ਕੇ ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਰ ਨੇ ਧ੍ਰਿਤਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ) ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਵਾ ਲਿਆ।
After the construction of this Court-Building, Yudhistar invited Duryodhana
ਸੂਰਜਕੋਸੁਤਸੰਗਲੀਏਅਰੁਭੀਖਮਮਾਨਭਰਿਯੋਸੋਊਆਯੋ॥
ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਕਰਨ) ਅਤੇ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਆਇਆ।
He reached there proudly alongwith Bhishma and Karan,
ਭੂਮਿਜਹਾਹੁਤੀਤਾਹਿਲਖਿਯੋਜਲਬਾਰਿਹੁਤੋਜਹਭੂਮਿਜਨਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਥੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੀ, ਉਥੇ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਜਲ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਜਲ ਸੀ, ਉਥੇ ਭੂਮੀ ਸਮਝੀ।
And he saw water, where there was earth and where there was water, he considered it as earth
ਜਾਇਨਿਸੰਕਪਰਿਯੋਜਲਮੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਕਛੁਭੇਦਨਪਾਯੋ॥੨੩੬੨॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ) ਨਿਸੰਗ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗਿਆ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਲ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ) ਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਿਆ ॥੨੩੬੨॥
In this way, without understanding the mystery, he fell into the water.2362.
ਜਾਇਪਰਿਯੋਤਬਹੀਸਰਮੈਤਨਬਸਤ੍ਰਧਰੇਪੁਨਿਬੂਡਗਯੋਹੈ॥
ਜਦੋਂ (ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ) ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ (ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁਬ ਗਿਆ।
He fell down in the tank and with all his clothes, he became drenched
ਬੂਡਤਜੋਨਿਕਸਿਯੋਸੋਊਭੂਪਤਿਚਿਤਬਿਖੈਅਤਿਕੋਪਕਯੋਹੈ॥
ਡੁਬ ਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ (ਬਾਹਰ) ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
When he came out after getting drowned in water, he became extremely enraged in his mind
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਜੂਭਾਰਉਤਾਰਨਕੇਹਿਤਆਂਖਸੋਭੀਮਹਿਭੇਦਦਯੋਹੈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ (ਕਿਸੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਵਰੀ ਦੇ) ਭਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਅੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਭੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸੋਇਹਭਾਤਿਸੋਬੋਲਿਉਠਿਓਅਰੇਅੰਧਕੇਅੰਧਹੀਪੁਤ੍ਰਭਯੋਹੈ॥੨੩੬੩॥
ਉਹ (ਭੀਮ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲ ਉਠਿਆ, ਓਏ! ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੀ ਜਮਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੩੬੩॥

ਯੌਜਬਭੀਮਹਸਿਯੋਤਿਹਕਉਤੁਘਨੋਚਿਤਭੀਤਰਭੂਪਰਿਸਾਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਭੀਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਾਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਰਾਜਾ (ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ) ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
When Bhima laughed, saying this, the king (Duryodhana) got extremely infuriated in his mind
ਮੋਕਹੁਪੰਡੁਕੇਪੁਤ੍ਰਹਸੈਅਬਹੀਬਧਯਾਕੋਕਰੋਜੀਅਆਯੋ॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੰਡੁ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਬਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ।
“The sons of Pandu are laughing over me, I shall kill Bhima just now.”
ਭੀਖਮਦ੍ਰੋਣਰਿਸੇਮਨਮੈਜੜਭੀਮਭਯੋਕਹਸ੍ਯਾਮਸੁਨਾਯੋ॥
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਅਤੇ ਦ੍ਰੋਣਾਚਾਰਯ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਏ, (ਪਰ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਭੀਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਧਾਮਿਗਯੋਅਪੁਨੇਫਿਰਕੈਸੁਸਭਾਇਹਭੀਤਰਫੇਰਿਨਆਯੋ॥੨੩੬੪॥
(ਰੋਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ) ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸਭਾ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰ (ਕਦੇ ਨ) ਆਇਆ ॥੨੩੬੪॥
When Bhishma and Karan also got angry, Bhima became fearful and ran away to his home and did not return.2364.
