ਦੁਤੀਆਕਾਨਤੇਮੈਲਨਿਕਾਰੀ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਕੰਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮੈਲ ਕੱਢੀ,
And from the secretion of the other ear
ਤਾਤੇਭਈਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਇਹਸਾਰੀ॥੧੩॥
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਬਣੀ ॥੧੩॥
The whole world materialized.13.
ਤਿਨਕੋਕਾਲਬਹੁਰਿਬਧਕਰਾ॥
ਫਿਰ ਕਾਲ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਮਧੁ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਟਭ) ਦਾ ਵੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
After some period the Lord killed the demons (Madhu and Kaitabh).
ਤਿਨਕੋਮੇਦਸਮੁੰਦਮੋਪਰਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਝ (ਮੇਦ) ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੀ,
Their marrow flowed into the ocean.
ਚਿਕਨਤਾਸਜਲਪਰਤਿਰਰਹੀ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਚਿਕਨਾਈ ਜਲ ਉਤੇ ਤਰਦੀ ਰਹੀ,
The greasy substance floated thereon because of that medital (marrow)
ਮੇਧਾਨਾਮਤਬਹਿਤੇਕਹੀ॥੧੪॥
ਤਦ ਤੋਂ (ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ) ਨਾਂ 'ਮੇਧਾ' ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਣ ਲਗਿਆ ॥੧੪॥
The earth was called medha (or medani).14.
ਸਾਧਕਰਮਜੇਪੁਰਖਕਮਾਵੈ॥
ਜੋ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਭਲੇ ('ਸਾਧ') ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Because of virtuous actions
ਨਾਮਦੇਵਤਾਜਗਤਕਹਾਵੈ॥
ਉਹ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
A purusha (person) is known as devta (god)
ਕੁਕ੍ਰਿਤਕਰਮਜੇਜਗਮੈਕਰਹੀ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਾੜੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
And because of evil actions
ਨਾਮਅਸੁਰਤਿਨਕੋਸਭਧਰਹੀ॥੧੫॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੈਂਤ ('ਅਸੁਰ') ਰਖ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫॥
He is known as asura (demon).15.
ਬਹੁਬਿਸਥਾਰਕਹਲਗੈਬਖਾਨੀਅਤ॥
ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈ, ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਬਖਾਨ ਕਰਾਂ
If everything is described in detail
ਗ੍ਰੰਥਬਢਨਤੇਅਤਿਡਰੁਮਾਨੀਅਤ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੇ ਵਧਣ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
It is feared that the description will become voluminous.
ਤਿਨਤੇਹੋਤਬਹੁਤਨ੍ਰਿਪਆਏ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਅਗੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋਏ
There were many kings after Kaldhuj
ਦਛਪ੍ਰਜਾਪਤਿਜਿਨਉਪਜਾਏ॥੧੬॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਕਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੬॥
Like Daksha Prajapati etc. 16.
ਦਸਸਹੰਸਤਿਹਿਗ੍ਰਿਹਭਈਕੰਨਿਆ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ
Ten thousand daughters were born to them
ਜਿਹਸਮਾਨਕਹਲਗੈਨਅੰਨਿਆ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ (ਸੁੰਦਰ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦੀ ਸੀ।
Whose beauty was not matched by others.
ਕਾਲਕ੍ਰਿਆਐਸੀਤਹਭਈ॥
ਉਦੋਂ ਕਾਲ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਖੇਡ ਵਰਤਾਈ
In due course all these daughters
ਤੇਸਭਬਿਆਹਨਰੇਸਨਦਈ॥੧੭॥
(ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਾਰੀਆਂ (ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ॥੧੭॥
Were married with the kings.17.

ਬਨਤਾਕਦ੍ਰਦਿਤਿਅਦਿਤਿਏਰਿਖਬਰੀਬਨਾਇ॥
ਬਨਿਤਾ, ਕਦਰੂ, ਦਿਤਿ, ਅਦਿਤਿ ਚਾਰੇ (ਕਸ਼ਯਪ) ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਈਆਂ
Banita, Kadaru, Diti and Aditi became the wives of sages (rishis),
ਨਾਗਨਾਗਰਿਪੁਦੇਵਸਭਦਈਤਲਏਉਪਜਾਇ॥੧੮॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਸੱਪ (ਕਦਰੂ ਤੋਂ) ਗਰੁੜ (ਬਨਿਤਾ ਤੋਂ) ਦੇਵਤੇ (ਅਦਿਤਿ ਤੋਂ) ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ (ਦਿਤਿ ਤੋਂ) (ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ) ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਲਏ ॥੧੮॥
And Nagas, their enemies (like Garuda), the gods and demons were born to them.18.

ਤਾਤੇਸੂਰਜਰੂਪਕੋਧਰਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਬੱਚਿਆਂ) ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਜਾਤੇਬੰਸਪ੍ਰਚੁਰਰਵਿਕਰਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਬੰਸ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ।
From that (Aditi), the sun was born, from whom Suraj Vansh (the Sun dynasty) originated.
ਜੌਤਿਨਕੇਕਹਿਨਾਮਸੁਨਾਊ॥
ਜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ (ਬੰਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ) ਨਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਵਾਂ
ਕਥਾਬਢਨਤੇਅਧਿਕਡਰਾਊ॥੧੯॥
ਤਾਂ ਕਥਾ ਦੇ ਵਧਣ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥
If I describe the names of the kings of this of this clan, I fear a great extension of the story.19.
ਤਿਨਕੇਬੰਸਬਿਖੈਰਘੁਭਯੋ॥
ਉਸ (ਸੂਰਜ) ਦੇ ਬੰਸ ਵਿਚ ਰਘੂ (ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ) ਹੋਇਆ
ਰਘੁਬੰਸਹਿਜਿਹਜਗਹਿਚਲਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਘੂਬੰਸ ਚਲਿਆ।
In this clan, there was a king named Raghu, who was the originator of Raghuvansh (the clan of Raghu) in the world.
ਤਾਤੇਪੁਤ੍ਰਹੋਤਭਯੋਅਜੁਬਰੁ॥
ਉਸਦਾ 'ਅਜ' ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ
ਮਹਾਰਥੀਅਰੁਮਹਾਧਨੁਰਧਰ॥੨੦॥
ਜੋ ਮਹਾਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਧਨੁਸ਼ਧਾਰੀ ਸੀ ॥੨੦॥
He had a great son Aja, a mighty warrior and superb archer.20.
ਜਬਤਿਨਭੇਸਜੋਗਕੋਲਯੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯੋਗ ਦਾ ਭੇਖ ਲਿਆ
ਰਾਜਪਾਟਦਸਰਥਕੋਦਯੋ॥
ਤਾਂ ਰਾਜ-ਪਾਟ (ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ) ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When he renounced the world as a Yogi, he passed on his kingdom to his son Dastratha.
ਹੋਤਭਯੋਵਹਿਮਹਾਧੁਨੁਰਧਰ॥
ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਧਨੁਸ਼ਧਾਰੀ ਸੀ,
ਤੀਨਤ੍ਰਿਆਨਬਰਾਜਿਹਰੁਚਿਕਰ॥੨੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਤਿੰਨ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨੧॥
Who had been a great archer and had married three wives with pleasure.21.
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਜਯੋਤਿਹਰਾਮੁਕੁਮਾਰਾ॥
ਪਹਿਲੀ (ਰਾਣੀ ਕੌਸ਼ਲਿਆ) ਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਭਰਥਲਛਮਨਸਤ੍ਰਬਿਦਾਰਾ॥
(ਬਾਕੀ ਦੋ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਕੈਕਈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਨੇ) ਭਰਤ, ਲੱਛਮਣ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਤਰੂਘਨ (ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ)।
The eldest one gave birth to Rama, the others gave birth to Bharat, Lakshman and Shatrughan.
ਬਹੁਤਕਾਲਤਿਨਰਾਜਕਮਾਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿਰ ਤਕ ਰਾਜ ਕਮਾਇਆ,
ਕਾਲਪਾਇਸੁਰਪੁਰਹਿਸਿਧਾਯੋ॥੨੨॥
(ਪਰ) ਸਮਾਂ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ॥੨੨॥
They ruled over their kingdom for a long time, after which they left for their heavenly abode.22.
ਸੀਅਸੁਤਬਹੁਰਿਭਏਦੁਇਰਾਜਾ॥
ਫਿਰ ਸੀਤਾ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਲਵ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਸ਼) ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣੇ
ਰਾਜਪਾਟਉਨਹੀਕਉਛਾਜਾ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ-ਪਾਟ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਫਬਿਆ।
After that the two sons of Sita (and Rama) became the kings.
ਮਦ੍ਰਦੇਸਏਸ੍ਵਰਜਾਬਰੀਜਬ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਦ੍ਰ ਦੇਸ਼ (ਪੰਜਾਬ) ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਜਕੁਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਆਹੀਆਂ
ਭਾਂਤਿਭਾਂਤਿਕੇਜਗਕੀਏਤਬ॥੨੩॥
ਤਾਂ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਯੱਗ ਕੀਤੇ ॥੨੩॥
They married the Punjabi princesses and performed various types of sacrifices.23.
ਤਹੀਤਿਨੈਬਾਧੇਦੁਇਪੁਰਵਾ॥
ਉਥੇ (ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਨਗਰ ਵਸਾਏ
ਏਕਕਸੂਰਦੁਤੀਯਲਹੁਰਵਾ॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਇਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਕਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲਾਹੌਰ (ਲਵਪੁਰਾ-ਲਹੁਰਵਾ) ਪਿਆ।
There they founded two cities, the one Kasur and the other Lahore.
ਅਧਕਪੁਰੀਤੇਦੋਊਬਿਰਾਜੀ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਨਗਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ੋਭਾਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਸਨ
ਨਿਰਖਿਲੰਕਅਮਰਾਵਤਿਲਾਜੀ॥੨੪॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਲੰਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰਾਵਤੀ (ਇੰਦਰਪੁਰੀ) ਵੀ ਲਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੨੪॥
Both the cities surpassed in beauty to that of Lanka and Amravati. 24.
ਬਹੁਤਕਾਲਤਿਨਰਾਜੁਕਮਾਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਜਾਲਕਾਲਤੇਅੰਤਿਫਸਾਯੋ॥
(ਪਰ) ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਲ ਨੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਜਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
For a long time, both the brothers ruled over their kingdom and ultimately they were bound down by the noose of death.
