ਬ੍ਰਹਮਜਪਿਓਅਰੁਸੰਭੁਥਪਿਓਤਹਿਤੇਤੁਹਿਕੋਕਿਨਹੂੰਨਬਚਾਯੋ॥
(ਤੂੰ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਆਰਾਧਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ।
Thou hast recited the name of Brahma and established Shivalingam, even then none could save thee.
ਕੋਟਿਕਰੀਤਪਸਾਦਿਨਕੋਟਿਕਕਾਹੂਨਕੌਡੀਕੋਕਾਮਕਢਾਯੋ॥
(ਤੂੰ) ਕਰੋੜਾਂ (ਇਸ਼ਟ-ਦੇਵਾਂ ਦੀ) ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ (ਤੇਰਾ) ਕੌਡੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਢਾਇਆ।
Thou hast observed millions of austerities for millions of days, but thou couldst not be recompensed even for the value of a couldst not be recompensed even for the value of a cowrie.
ਕਾਮਕਾਮੰਤ੍ਰਕਸੀਰੇਕੇਕਾਮਨਕਾਲਕੋਘਾਉਕਿਨਹੂੰਨਬਚਾਯੋ॥੯੭॥
ਕਾਮਨਾ-ਭਰਿਆ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਦੰਮੜੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕਾਲ ਦੀ ਚੋਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੯੭॥
The Mantra recited for fulfillment of worldly desires doth not even bring the least gain and none of such Mantras can’t save from the blow of KAL.97.
ਕਾਹੇਕੋਕੂਰਕਰੇਤਪਸਾਇਨਕੀਕੋਊਕੌਡੀਕੇਕਾਮਨਐਹੈ॥
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੂੜੀ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ; (ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕੋਈ ਕੌਡੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ।
Why doth thou indulge in false austerities, because they will not bring in gain of even one cowrie.
ਤੋਹਿਬਚਾਇਸਕੈਕਹੁਕੈਸੇਕੈਆਪਨਘਾਵਬਚਾਇਨਐਹੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਲਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ (ਕਾਲ ਦੀ) ਚੋਟ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
The cannot save themselves form the blow (of KAL), how can they protect thee?
ਕੋਪਕਰਾਲਕੀਪਾਵਕਕੁੰਡਮੈਆਪਿਟੰਗਿਓਤਿਮਤੋਹਿਟੰਗੈਹੈ॥
ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੋਏ (ਕਾਲ ਦੇ) ਅਗਨੀ-ਕੁੰਡ ਵਿਚ (ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਆਪ ਟੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਟੰਗਵਾ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
They are all hanging in the blazing fire of anger, therefore they will cause thy hanging similarly.
ਚੇਤਰੇਚੇਤਅਜੋਜੀਅਮੈਜੜਕਾਲਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਬਿਨੁਕਾਮਨਐਹੈ॥੯੮॥
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਹੋਸ਼ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਦਿਲ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਝ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਕਾਲ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਉਪਾ ਵੀ) ਕੰਮ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੯੮॥
O fool! Ruminate now in thy mind; none will be of any use to thee except the grace of KAL.98.
ਤਾਹਿਪਛਾਨਤਹੈਨਮਹਾਪਸੁਜਾਕੋਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੁਤਿਹੂੰਪੁਰਮਾਹੀ॥
ਹੇ ਮਹਾ ਪਸ਼ੂ! ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਤੂੰ) ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਤ ਹੈ।
O foolish beast! Thou doth not recognize Him, Whose Glory hath spread over all the three worlds.
ਪੂਜਤਹੈਪਰਮੇਸਰਕੈਜਿਹਕੈਪਰਸੈਪਰਲੋਕਪਰਾਹੀ॥
(ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪੂਜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੋਹਣ ਨਾਲ (ਭਾਵ ਪੂਜਣ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਲੋਕ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ।
Thou worshippest those as God, by whose touch thou shalt be driven far away from the next world.
ਪਾਪਕਰੋਪਰਮਾਰਥਕੈਜਿਹਪਾਪਨਤੇਅਤਿਪਾਪਲਜਾਈ॥
(ਤੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਰਥ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਘੋਰ) ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਤਿ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਪ ਵੀ ਲੱਜਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Thou art committing such sins in th name of parmarath (the subtle truth) that by committing them the Great sins may feel shy.
ਪਾਇਪਰੋਪਰਮੇਸਰਕੇਜੜਪਾਹਨਮੈਪਰਮੇਸਰਨਾਹੀ॥੯੯॥
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! (ਤੂੰ) ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈ, (ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਨਾ ਪੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੯੯॥
O fool! Fall at the feet of Lord-God, the Lord is not within the stone-idols.99.
ਮੋਨਭਜੇਨਹੀਮਾਨਤਜੇਨਹੀਭੇਖਸਜੇਨਹੀਮੂੰਡਮੁੰਡਾਏ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮੌਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਭਜਣ ਨਾਲ, ਮਾਣ (ਹੰਕਾਰ) ਛੱਡਣ ਨਾਲ, ਭੇਖ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਮੂੰਹ ਮੁਨਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ) ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
The Lord cannot be realized by observing silence, by forsaking pride, by adopting guises and by shaving the head.
ਕੰਠਿਨਕੰਠੀਕਠੋਰਧਰੈਨਹੀਸੀਸਜਟਾਨਕੇਜੂਟਸੁਹਾਏ॥
ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਕੰਠੀ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ, ਕਠੋਰ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਜਟਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੂੜਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ)।
He cannot be realized by wearing Kanthi (a short necklace of small beads of different kinds made of wood or seeds worn by mendicants or ascetics) for severe austerities or Thy making a knot of matted hair on the head.
ਸਾਚੁਕਹੋਸੁਨਿਲੈਚਿਤੁਦੈਬਿਨੁਦੀਨਦਿਆਲਕੀਸਾਮਸਿਧਾਏ॥
ਸੱਚ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਚਿਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸੁਣ ਲਵੋ ਕਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੀਨ-ਦਿਆਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਗਏ (ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਉਪਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ)।
Listen attentively, I speak Turth, Thou shalt not achieve the target without going under the Refuge of the LORD, Who is ever Merciful to the lowly.
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਕਰੇਪ੍ਰਭੁਪਾਯਤਹੈਕਿਰਪਾਲਨਭੀਜਤਲਾਂਡਕਟਾਏ॥੧੦੦॥
ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੁੰਨਤ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ॥੧੦੦॥
God can only be realized with LOVE, He is not pleased by circumcision.100.
ਕਾਗਦਦੀਪਸਭੈਕਰਿਕੈਅਰਸਾਤਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਨਕੀਮਸੁਕੈਹੋ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਦੀਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤਾਂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਹੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਈਏ,
If all the continents are transformed into paper and all the seven seas into ink
ਕਾਟਿਬਨਾਸਪਤੀਸਿਗਰੀਲਿਖਬੇਹੂੰਕੇਲੇਖਨਕਾਜਿਬਨੈਹੋ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਲਿਖਣ ਲਈ ਲੇਖਣ ਸਾਮਗ੍ਰੀ (ਕਲਮਾਂ) ਬਣਾ ਲਈਏ;
By chopping all the vegetation the pen may be made for the sake of writing
ਸਾਰਸੁਤੀਬਕਤਾਕਰਿਕੈਜੁਗਕੋਟਿਗਨੇਸਕੈਹਾਥਿਲਿਖੈਹੋ॥
ਸਰਸਵਤੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਖੁਦ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਯੁਗਾਂ ਤਕ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ (ਉਪਮਾ) ਲਿਖਵਾਈ ਜਾਏ
If the goddess Saraswati be made the speaker (of eulogies) and Ganesha be there to write with hands for millions of ages
ਕਾਲਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਬਿਨਾਬਿਨਤੀਨਤਊਤੁਮਕੋਪ੍ਰਭਨੈਕੁਰਿਝੈਹੋ॥੧੦੧॥
(ਪਰ) ਕਾਲ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਰਿਝਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ ॥੧੦੧॥
Even then, O God! O sword-incannate KAL! Without supplication, none can make Thee pleased even a little.101.

O Lord! Thy Praise is Supreme and Infinite,
ਜਾਕਾਲਹਿਓਨਕਿਨਹੂੰਪਾਰਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
None could comprehend its limits.
ਦੇਵਦੇਵਰਾਜਨਕੇਰਾਜਾ॥
(ਤੂੰ) ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੈਂ।
O God of gods and King of kings,
ਦੀਨਦਿਆਲਗਰੀਬਨਿਵਾਜਾ॥੧॥
(ਤੂੰ) ਦੀਨਾਂ (ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆਂ) ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਡਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
The Merciful Lord of the lowly and protector of the humble.1.

DOHRA
ਮੂਕਊਚਰੈਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਖਟਿਪਿੰਗਗਿਰਨਚੜਿਜਾਇ॥
ਤਾਂ ਗੁੰਗਾ ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਉੱਚਾਰਨ ਲਗ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਿੰਗਲਾ ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ-
The dumb utters the six Shastras and the crippled climbs the mountain.
ਅੰਧਲਖੈਬਧਰੋਸੁਨੈਜੋਕਾਲਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਕਰਾਇ॥੨॥
ਜੇ ਕਾਲ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਾ ਸੁਣਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
The blind one sees and the deaf listens, if the KAL becomes Gracious.2.

ਕਹਾਬੁਧਿਪ੍ਰਭਤੁਛਹਮਾਰੀ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਤੁਛ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਥੋਂ
O God! My intellect is trifling.
ਬਰਨਿਸਕੈਮਹਿਮਾਜੁਤਿਹਾਰੀ॥
(ਇਤਨੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ।
How can it narrate Thy Praise?
ਹਮਨਸਕਤਕਰਿਸਿਫਤਤੁਮਾਰੀ॥
ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
I cannot (have sufficient words to) praise Thee,
ਆਪਲੇਹੁਤੁਮਕਥਾਸੁਧਾਰੀ॥੩॥
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਮੇਰੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਇਸ) ਬ੍ਰਿੱਤਾਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਵੋ ॥੩॥
Thou mayst Thyself improve this narration.3.
ਕਹਾਲਗੈਇਹੁਕੀਟਬਖਾਨੈ॥
ਇਹ ਕੀਟ (ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦਾ) ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਬਖਾਨ ਕਰੇ।
Upto what limit this insect can depict (Thy Praises)?
ਮਹਿਮਾਤੋਰਿਤੁਹੀਪ੍ਰਭਜਾਨੈ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
Thou mayst Thyself improve Thy Greatness.
ਪਿਤਾਜਨਮਜਿਮਪੂਤਨਪਾਵੈ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ,
Just as the son cannot say anything about the birth of his father
ਕਹਾਤਵਨਕਾਭੇਦਬਤਾਵੈ॥੪॥
(ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਤੇਰਾ ਭੇਦ (ਮੈਂ) ਕਿਵੇਂ ਦਸ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪॥
Then how can one unfold Thy mystery.4.
ਤੁਮਰੀਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੁਮੈਬਨਿਆਈ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਦਾ ਬਖਾਨ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
Thy Greatness is Only Thine
ਅਉਰਨਤੇਨਹੀਜਾਤਬਤਾਈ॥
ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
It cannot be described by others.
ਤੁਮਰੀਕ੍ਰਿਆਤੁਮਹੀਪ੍ਰਭਜਾਨੋ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ (ਗਤਿਵਿਧੀ) ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
O Lord! Only Thou knowest Thy doings.
ਊਚਨੀਚਕਸਸਕਤਬਖਾਨੋ॥੫॥
(ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਵਧ ਘਟ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਖਾਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੫॥
Who hast the power to elucidate Thy High of Low acts? 5.
ਸੇਸਨਾਗਸਿਰਸਹਸਬਨਾਈ॥
(ਤੂੰ) ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਸਿਰ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ,
Thou hast made one thousand hoods of Sheshanaga
ਦ੍ਵੈਸਹੰਸਰਸਨਾਹਸੁਹਾਈ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ) ਦੋ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਸੋਭ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Which contain two thousand tongues.
ਰਟਤਅਬਲਗੇਨਾਮਅਪਾਰਾ॥
(ਉਹ) ਹੁਣ ਤਕ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਅਪਾਰ ਨਾਂਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਟ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
He is reciting till now Thy Infinite Names
ਤੁਮਰੋਤਊਨਪਾਵਤਪਾਰਾ॥੬॥
ਫਿਰ ਵੀ (ਉਹ) ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਂਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
Even then he hath not know the end of Thy Names.6.
ਤੁਮਰੀਕ੍ਰਿਆਕਹਾਕੋਊਕਹੈ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰੇ।
What can one say about Thy doings?
ਸਮਝਤਬਾਤਉਰਝਿਮਤਿਰਹੈ॥
(ਤੇਰੀ) ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਚਕਰਾ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
One gets puzzled while understanding it.
ਸੂਛਮਰੂਪਨਬਰਨਾਜਾਈ॥
(ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੂਖਮ ਰੂਪ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ,
Thy subtle form is indescribable
ਬਿਰਧੁਸਰੂਪਹਿਕਹੋਬਨਾਈ॥੭॥
(ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਹਠ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ) ਵਿਰਾਟ ਰੂਪ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੭॥
(Therefore) I speak about Thy Immanent Form.7.
ਤੁਮਰੀਪ੍ਰੇਮਭਗਤਿਜਬਗਹਿਹੋ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ,
When I shall observe Thy loving Devotion
ਛੋਰਿਕਥਾਸਭਹੀਤਬਕਹਿਹੋ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਮੁਢੋਂ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ।
I shall then describe all Thy anecdotes from the beginning.
ਅਬਮੈਕਹੋਸੁਅਪਨੀਕਥਾ॥
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਆਪਣੀ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
Now I narrate my own life-story
ਸੋਢੀਬੰਸਉਪਜਿਆਜਥਾ॥੮॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸੋਢੀ ਬੰਸ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ) ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
How the Sodhi clan came into being (in this world).8.

ਪ੍ਰਥਮਕਥਾਸੰਛੇਪਤੇਕਹੋਸੁਹਿਤਚਿਤੁਲਾਇ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ (ਮੈਂ) ਹਿਤ-ਚਿਤ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿਚ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
With the concentration of my mind, I narrate in brief my earlier story.
ਬਹੁਰਿਬਡੋਬਿਸਥਾਰਕੈਕਹਿਹੌਸਭੈਸੁਨਾਇ॥੯॥
ਫਿਰ ਵੱਡੇ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੯॥
Then after that, I shall relate all in great detail.9.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਕਾਲਜਬਕਰਾਪਸਾਰਾ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਾਲ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ,
In the beginning when KAL created the world
ਓਅੰਕਾਰਤੇਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਉਪਾਰਾ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
It was brought into being by Aumkara (the One Lord).
ਕਾਲਸੈਨਪ੍ਰਥਮੈਭਇਓਭੂਪਾ॥
ਕਾਲ ਸੈਣ (ਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪਹਿਲਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਇਆ
Kal sain was the first king
ਅਧਿਕਅਤੁਲਬਲਿਰੂਪਅਨੂਪਾ॥੧੦॥
ਜੋ ਅਧਿਕ ਬਲ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅਤੁੱਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੂਪਮ ਸੀ ॥੧੦॥
Who was of immeasurable strength and supreme beauty.10.
ਕਾਲਕੇਤੁਦੂਸਰਭੂਅਭਇਓ॥
ਕਾਲ ਕੇਤ (ਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਦੂਜਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਇਆ,
Kalket became the second king
ਕ੍ਰੂਰਬਰਸਤੀਸਰਜਗਿਠਯੋ॥
ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਤੀਜਾ (ਰਾਜਾ) ਕ੍ਰੂਰ-ਬਰਸ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
And Kurabaras, the third.
ਕਾਲਧੁਜਚਤੁਰਥਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੋਹੈ॥
ਕਾਲ ਧੁਜ ਚੌਥਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਹੋਇਆ
Kaldhuj was the fourth kin
ਜਿਹਤੇਭਯੋਜਗਤਸਭਕੋਹੈ॥੧੧॥
ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ॥੧੧॥
From whon the whole world originated. 11.
ਸਹਸਰਾਛਜਾਕੋਸੁਭਸੋਹੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ (ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ) ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਸਹਸਪਾਦਜਾਕੇਤਨਿਮੋਹੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪੈਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ,
He had a thousand eyes and thousand feet.
ਸੇਖਨਾਗਪਰਸੋਇਬੋਕਰੈ॥
(ਜੋ) ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ (ਦੀ ਸੇਜਾ) ਉਤੇ ਸੌਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
He slept on Sheshanaga
ਜਗਤਿਹਸੇਖਸਾਇਉਚਰੈ॥੧੨॥
ਉਸਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ 'ਸੇਖ ਸਾਇ' (ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਸ਼ਈ) ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
Therefore he was called the master of Shesha.12.
ਏਕਸ੍ਰਵਣਤੇਮੈਲਨਿਕਾਰਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਕੰਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਲ ਕੱਢੀ,
Out of the secretion from one of his ears
ਤਾਤੇਮਧੁਕੀਟਭਤਨਧਾਰਾ॥
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮਧੁ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਟਭ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ।
Madhu and Kaitabh came into being.
