ਕਈਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਉਚਰੰਤਬੇਦ॥
ਕਈ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ, ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many recite Smritis, Shastras and Vedas.
ਕਈਕੋਕਕਾਬਕੱਥਤਕਤੇਬ॥੧੦॥੧੩੦॥
ਕਈ ਕਾਮ-ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ, ਕਾਵਿ ਅਤੇ ਕਤੇਬਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਖਿਆਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੦॥੧੩੦॥
Many go through Kok Shastras (pertaining to sex), other poetry books and Semitic Scriptures. 10.130.
ਕਈਅਗਨਹੋਤ੍ਰਕਈਪਉਨਅਹਾਰ॥
ਕਈ ਹਵਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਪੌਣ ਦਾ ਆਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many perform havan (fire-worship) and many subsist on air.
ਕਈਕਰਤਕੋਟਮ੍ਰਿਤਕੋਅਹਾਰ॥
ਕਈ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦਾ ਆਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many a million eat clay.
ਕਈਕਰਤਸਾਕਪੈਪਤ੍ਰਭੱਛ॥
ਕਈ ਕੇਵਲ ਸਾਗ, ਦੁੱਧ ਜਾਂ ਪੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੱਛਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
May people eat green leaves.
ਨਹੀਤਦਪਿਦੇਵਹੋਵਤਪ੍ਰੱਤਛ॥੧੧॥੧੩੧॥
ਪਰ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ (ਹੋ ਕੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ) ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ॥੧੧॥੧੩੧॥
Still the Lord does not manifest Himself to them. 11.131.
ਕਈਗੀਤਗਾਨਗੰਧਰਬਰੀਤ॥
ਕਈ ਗੰਧਰਬਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
There are many song-tunes and observances of Gandharvas.
ਕਈਬੇਦਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਬਿਦਿਆਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ॥
ਕਈ ਵੇਦ-ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਉਤੇ ਨਿਸਚਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
There are many who are absorbed in the learning of Vedas and Shastras.
ਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਰੀਤਿਜੱਗਆਦਿਕਰਮ॥
ਕਈ ਵੇਦ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਯੱਗ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Somewhere Yagyas (sacrifices) are performed according to the Vedic injunctions.
ਕਹੂੰਅਗਨਹੋਤ੍ਰਕਹੂੰਤੀਰਥਧਰਮ॥੧੨॥੧੩੨॥
ਕਈ ਹਵਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੨॥੧੩੨॥
Somewhere havens are performed and somewhere at pilgrim-stations, the befitting rituals are being followed.12.132.
ਕਈਦੇਸਦੇਸਭਾਖਾਰਟੰਤ॥
ਕਈ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many speak languages of different countries.
ਕਈਦੇਸਦੇਸਬਿਦਿਆਪੜ੍ਹੰਤ॥
ਕਈ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many study the learning of various countries.
ਕਈਕਰਤਭਾਂਤਭਾਂਤਨਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਕਈ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many ruminate over several types of philosophies.
ਨਹੀਨੈਕੁਤਾਸੁਪਾਯਤਨਪਾਰ॥੧੩॥੧੩੩॥
(ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰਤਾ ਕੁ ਭੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧੩॥੧੩੩॥
Still they cannot comprehend even a little of the Lord. 13.133.
ਕਈਤੀਰਥਤੀਰਥਭਰਮਤਸੁਭਰਮ॥
ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਭਰਮ-ਵਸ ਅਨੇਕ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਭੌਂਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many wander away on various pilgrim-stations, in delusion.
ਕਈਅਗਨਹੋਤ੍ਰਕਈਦੇਵਕਰਮ॥
ਕਈ ਹਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਦੇਵ-ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ
Some perform havens and some perform rituals to please gods.
ਕਈਕਰਤਬੀਰਬਿਦਿਆਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਈ (ਬਵੰਜਾ) ਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Some pay consideration to the learning of warfare.
ਨਹੀਂਤਦਪਤਾਸਪਾਯਤਨਪਾਰ॥੧੪॥੧੩੪॥
(ਪਰ) ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ (ਪਰਮ-ਸੱਤਾ) ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧੪॥੧੩੪॥
Still they cannot comprehend of the Lord.14.134.
ਕਹੂੰਰਾਜਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਜੋਗਧਰਮ॥
(ਕਈ) ਕਿਸੇ ਰਾਜ-ਰੀਤ (ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ) ਜੋਗ-ਧਰਮ (ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ)
Somewhere royal discipline is being followed and somewhere the discipline of Yoga.
ਕਈਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਉਚਰਤਸੁਕਰਮ॥
ਕਈ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ, ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਚਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
Many perform the recitation of Smritis and Shastras.
ਨਿਉਲੀਆਦਿਕਰਮਕਹੂੰਹਸਤਦਾਨ॥
(ਕਈ) ਨੌਲੀ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ (ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ) ਕਿਤੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ
Somewhere Yogic Karmas including neoli (purgation of intestines) are being practiced and somewhere elephants are being given as gifts.
ਕਹੂੰਅਸ੍ਵਮੇਧਮਖਕੋਬਖਾਨ॥੧੫॥੧੩੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਅਸ਼੍ਵਮੇਧ ਯੱਗ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਗਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥੧੩੫॥
Somewhere the horse sacrifices are being performed and their merits are being related.15.135.
ਕਹੂੰਕਰਤਬ੍ਰਹਮਬਿਦਿਆਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ
Somewhere the Brahmins are holding discussions about Theology.
ਕਹੂੰਜੋਗਰੀਤਕਹੂੰਬ੍ਰਿੱਧਚਾਰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਜੋਗ ਰੀਤ (ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਆਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
Somewhere the Yogic methods are being practiced and somewhere the four stages of life are being followed.
ਕਹੂੰਕਰਤਜੱਛਗੰਧ੍ਰਬਗਾਨ॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਯਕਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਵਾਂਗ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
Somewhere the Yaksha and Gandharvas sing.
ਕਹੂੰਧੂਪਦੀਪਕਹੂੰਅਰਘਦਾਨ॥੧੬॥੧੩੬॥
ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਧੂਪ, ਦੀਪਕ (ਆਦਿ ਸਜਾ ਕੇ) ਆਰਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਅਰਘ ਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੬॥੧੩੬॥
Somewhere the offerings of incense, earthen lamps and libations are made. 16.136.
ਕਹੂੰਪਿਤ੍ਰਕਰਮਕਹੂੰਬੇਦਰੀਤ॥
ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਵੇਦ ਰੀਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪਿਤਰੀ ਕਰਮ (ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ)
Somewhere karmas are performed for the manes and somewhere the Vedic injunctions are followed.
ਕਹੂੰਨ੍ਰਿਤਨਾਚਕਹੂੰਗਾਨਗੀਤ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਤਾਲ ਤੇ ਨਾਚ (ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ) ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
Somewhere the dances are accomplished and somewhere songs are sung.
ਕਹੂੰਕਰਤਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਉਚਾਰ॥
ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ (ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ)
Somewhere the Shastras and Smritis are recited.
ਕਈਭਜਤਏਕਪਗਨਿਰਾਧਾਰ॥੧੭॥੧੩੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ (ਕੋਈ) ਇਕ ਪੈਰ ਉਤੇ ਖੜੋ ਕੇ ਨਿਰਾਧਾਰ ਭਜਨ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭॥੧੩੭॥
May pray standing on a single foot. 17.137.
ਕਈਨੇਹਦੇਹਕਈਗੇਹਵਾਸ॥
ਕਈ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many are attached to their bodies and many reside in their homes.
ਕਈਭ੍ਰਮਤਦੇਸਦੇਸਨਉਦਾਸ॥
ਕਈ ਉਦਾਸੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਦੇਸ-ਦੇਸਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਘੁੰਮਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many wander in various countries as hermits.
ਕਈਜਲਨਿਵਾਸਕਈਅਗਨਿਤਾਪ॥
ਕਈ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਅਗਨੀ ਤਪਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many live in water and many endure the heat of fire.
ਕਈਜਪਤਉਰਧਲਟਕੰਤਜਾਪ॥੧੮॥੧੩੮॥
ਕਈ ਮੂਧੇ ਲਟਕ ਕੇ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੮॥੧੩੮॥
Many worship the Lord with face upside down. 18.138.
ਕਈਕਰਤਜੋਗਕਲਪੰਪ੍ਰਜੰਤ॥
ਕਈ (ਲੋਕ) ਕਲਪਾਂ (ਜਿੰਨੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ) ਤਕ ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many practice Yoga for various kalpas (ages).
ਨਹੀਤਦਪਿਤਾਸਪਾਯਤਨਅੰਤ॥
ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ।
Still they cannot know the Lord's end.
ਕਈਕਰਤਕੋਟਬਿੱਦਿਆਬਿਚਾਰ॥
ਕਈ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Many a million indulge in the study of sciences.
ਨਹੀਤਦਪਿਦਿਸਟਿਦੇਖੈਮੁਰਾਰ॥੧੯॥੧੩੯॥
ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧੯॥੧੩੯॥
Still they cannot behold the Sight of the Lord.19.139.
ਬਿਨਭਗਤਿਸਕਤਿਨਹੀਪਰਤਪਾਨ॥
ਬਿਨਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ,
Without the power of devotion they cannot realise the Lord.
ਬਹੁਕਰਤਹੋਮਅਰਜੱਗਦਾਨ॥
ਭਾਵੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋਮ, ਯੱਗ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ (ਕਿਉਂ ਨ) ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ,
Though they perform havens, hold Yagyas (sacrifices) and offer charities.
ਬਿਨਏਕਨਾਮਇਕਚਿੱਤਲੀਨ॥
ਬਿਨਾ ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਇਕਾਗਰ ਚਿੱਤ ਮਗਨ ਹੋਏ,
Without the single-minded absorption in he Lord's Name,
ਫੋਕਟੋਸਰਬਧਰਮਾਬਿਹੀਨ॥੨੦॥੧੪੦॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮ (ਵਾਸਤਵਿਕ ਧਰਮ-ਕਰਮ ਤੋਂ) ਵਾਂਝੇ ਹਨ ॥੨੦॥੧੪੦॥
All the religious rituals are useless. 20.140.
ਤ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ॥ਤੋਟਕਛੰਦ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ: ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ:

ਜਯਜੰਪਤਜੁੱਗਣਜੂਹਜੁਅੰ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦੀ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
Gather ye together and shout victory to that Lord,
ਭੈਕੰਪਹਿਮੇਰੁਪਯਾਲਭੁਅੰ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਦੇ) ਭੈ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੂ ਪਰਬਤ, ਪਾਤਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਕੰਬਦੇ ਹਨ।
in whose Fear tremble the heaven, nether-world and the earth.
ਤਪੁਤਾਪਸਸਰਬਜਲੇਰੁਥਲੰ॥
ਜਲਾਂ ਥਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤਪਸਵੀ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਤਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ
For whose realization all the ascetics of water and land perform austerities.
ਧਨਉਚਰਤਇੰਦ੍ਰਕੁਬੇਰਬਲੰ॥੧॥੧੪੧॥
(ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਇੰਦਰ, ਕੁਬੇਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲੀ ਰਾਜਾ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥੧੪੧॥
To Whom Indra, Kuber and king Bal hail 1.141.
ਅਨਖੇਦਸਰੂਪਅਭੇਦਅਭਿਅੰ॥
(ਜੋ) ਖੇਦ-ਰਹਿਤ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ, ਅਭੇਦ ਅਤੇ ਅਭੈ ਹੈ,
He is Griefless Entity, Indiscriminate and Fearless.
