ਰੇਮਨਬਿਨੁਹਰਿਜਹਰਚਹੁਤਹਤਹਬੰਧਨਪਾਹਿ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਥੇ ਜਿਥੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਾਏਂਗਾ, ਉਥੇ ਉਥੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਪੈਣਗੇ।
O mind: without the Lord, whatever you are involved in shall bind you in chains.
ਜਿਹਬਿਧਿਕਤਹੂਨਛੂਟੀਐਸਾਕਤਤੇਊਕਮਾਹਿ॥
ਹਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਾਹ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ।
The faithless cynic does those deeds which will never allow him to be emancipated.
ਹਉਹਉਕਰਤੇਕਰਮਰਤਤਾਕੋਭਾਰੁਅਫਾਰ॥
(ਤੀਰਥ, ਦਾਨ ਆਦਿਕ) ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ (ਇਹ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਦਾ) ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਭਾਰ ਭੀ ਅਸਹਿ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Acting in egotism, selfishness and conceit, the lovers of rituals carry the unbearable load.
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਨਹੀਜਉਨਾਮਸਿਉਤਉਏਊਕਰਮਬਿਕਾਰ॥
ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਕਰਮ ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
When there is no love for the Naam, then these rituals are corrupt.
ਬਾਧੇਜਮਕੀਜੇਵਰੀਮੀਠੀਮਾਇਆਰੰਗ॥
ਮਿੱਠੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਕੌਤਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਫਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ) ਜਮ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਬੱਝ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The rope of death binds those who are in love with the sweet taste of Maya.
ਭ੍ਰਮਕੇਮੋਹੇਨਹਬੁਝਹਿਸੋਪ੍ਰਭੁਸਦਹੂਸੰਗ॥
ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
Deluded by doubt, they do not understand that God is always with them.
ਲੇਖੈਗਣਤਨਛੂਟੀਐਕਾਚੀਭੀਤਿਨਸੁਧਿ॥
(ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਇਤਨੇ ਮਾਇਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖਾ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਬਰੀਅਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ, (ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਤਿਆਂ) ਗਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ (ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਗਾਰਾ ਬਣਦਾ ਜਾਇਗਾ)।
When their accounts are called for, they shall not be released; their wall of mud cannot be washed clean.
ਜਿਸਹਿਬੁਝਾਏਨਾਨਕਾਤਿਹਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਨਿਰਮਲਬੁਧਿ॥੯॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
One who is made to understand - O Nanak, that Gurmukh obtains immaculate understanding. ||9||
ਸਲੋਕੁ॥
Shalok:
ਟੂਟੇਬੰਧਨਜਾਸੁਕੇਹੋਆਸਾਧੂਸੰਗੁ॥
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਟੁੱਟਣ ਤੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
One whose bonds are cut away joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਜੋਰਾਤੇਰੰਗਏਕਕੈਨਾਨਕਗੂੜਾਰੰਗੁ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਜੋ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਰੰਗ ਐਸਾ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮਜੀਠ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਦੇ ਉਤਰਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ) ॥੧॥
Those who are imbued with the Love of the One Lord, O Nanak, take on the deep and lasting color of His Love. ||1||

ਰਾਰਾਰੰਗਹੁਇਆਮਨੁਅਪਨਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ) ਰੰਗੋ!
RARRA: Dye this heart of yours in the color of the Lord's Love.
ਹਰਿਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਜਪਹੁਜਪੁਰਸਨਾ॥
ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪੋ।
Meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har - chant it with your tongue.
ਰੇਰੇਦਰਗਹਕਹੈਨਕੋਊ॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਅਨਾਦਰੀ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲੇਗਾ,
In the Court of the Lord, no one shall speak harshly to you.
ਆਉਬੈਠੁਆਦਰੁਸੁਭਦੇਊ॥
(ਸਗੋਂ) ਚੰਗਾ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ (ਕਹਿਣਗੇ)-ਆਓ ਬੈਠੋ!
Everyone shall welcome you, saying, "Come, and sit down."
ਉਆਮਹਲੀਪਾਵਹਿਤੂਬਾਸਾ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਮਨ ਰੰਗ ਲਏ ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏਗਾ,
In that Mansion of the Lord's Presence, you shall find a home.
ਜਨਮਮਰਨਨਹਹੋਇਬਿਨਾਸਾ॥
ਨਾਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਏਗਾ, ਤੇ ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਕਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
There is no birth or death, or destruction there.
ਮਸਤਕਿਕਰਮੁਲਿਖਿਓਧੁਰਿਜਾਕੈ॥
ਪਰ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ (ਉੱਘੜਦਾ) ਹੈ,
One who has such karma written on his forehead,
ਹਰਿਸੰਪੈਨਾਨਕਘਰਿਤਾਕੈ॥੧੦॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
O Nanak, has the wealth of the Lord in his home. ||10||
ਸਲੋਕੁ॥
Shalok:
ਲਾਲਚਝੂਠਬਿਕਾਰਮੋਹਬਿਆਪਤਮੂੜੇਅੰਧ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Greed, falsehood, corruption and emotional attachment entangle the blind and the foolish.
ਲਾਗਿਪਰੇਦੁਰਗੰਧਸਿਉਨਾਨਕਮਾਇਆਬੰਧ॥੧॥
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗਿਆਨ-ਹੀਣ ਮੂਰਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਝੂਠ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਆਦਿਕ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
Bound down by Maya, O Nanak, a foul odor clings to them. ||1||

ਲਲਾਲਪਟਿਬਿਖੈਰਸਰਾਤੇ॥
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ,
LALLA: People are entangled in the love of corrupt pleasures;
ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿਮਾਇਆਮਦਮਾਤੇ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਉਤੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
they are drunk with the wine of egotistical intellect and Maya.
ਇਆਮਾਇਆਮਹਿਜਨਮਹਿਮਰਨਾ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।)
In this Maya, they are born and die.
ਜਿਉਜਿਉਹੁਕਮੁਤਿਵੈਤਿਉਕਰਨਾ॥
(ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
People act according to the Hukam of the Lord's Command.
ਕੋਊਊਨਨਕੋਊਪੂਰਾ॥
(ਆਪਣੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਨਾਲ) ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
No one is perfect, and no one is imperfect.
ਕੋਊਸੁਘਰੁਨਕੋਊਮੂਰਾ॥
ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ (ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਆਸਰੇ) ਸਿਆਣਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਮੂਰਖ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
No one is wise, and no one is foolish.
ਜਿਤੁਜਿਤੁਲਾਵਹੁਤਿਤੁਤਿਤੁਲਗਨਾ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਉਧਰ ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
Wherever the Lord engages someone, there he is engaged.
ਨਾਨਕਠਾਕੁਰਸਦਾਅਲਿਪਨਾ॥੧੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਕੈਸੀ ਅਚਰਜ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ! ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ॥੧੧॥
O Nanak, our Lord and Master is forever detached. ||11||
ਸਲੋਕੁ॥
Shalok:
ਲਾਲਗੁਪਾਲਗੋਬਿੰਦਪ੍ਰਭਗਹਿਰਗੰਭੀਰਅਥਾਹ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ, ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਰੱਖਿਅਕ ਹੈ, ਸਭ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਵੱਡੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸਮਝੋ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ।
My Beloved God, the Sustainer of the World, the Lord of the Universe, is deep, profound and unfathomable.
ਦੂਸਰਨਾਹੀਅਵਰਕੋਨਾਨਕਬੇਪਰਵਾਹ॥੧॥
ਕੋਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦੇ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥
There is no other like Him; O Nanak, He is not worried. ||1||

ਲਲਾਤਾਕੈਲਵੈਨਕੋਊ॥
ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ,
LALLA: There is no one equal to Him.
ਏਕਹਿਆਪਿਅਵਰਨਹਹੋਊ॥
(ਆਪਣੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
He Himself is the One; there shall never be any other.
ਹੋਵਨਹਾਰੁਹੋਤਸਦਆਇਆ॥
ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਾਲਾ ਚਲਿਆ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ,
He is now, He has been, and He shall always be.
ਉਆਕਾਅੰਤੁਨਕਾਹੂਪਾਇਆ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ (ਦੀ) ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ।
No one has ever found His limit.
ਕੀਟਹਸਤਿਮਹਿਪੂਰਸਮਾਨੇ॥
ਕੀੜੀ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਤਕ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ।
In the ant and in the elephant, He is totally pervading.
ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁਪੁਰਖਸਭਠਾਊਜਾਨੇ॥
ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਜਾਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord, the Primal Being, is known by everyone everywhere.
ਜਾਕਉਦੀਨੋਹਰਿਰਸੁਅਪਨਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ,
That one, unto whom the Lord has given His Love
ਨਾਨਕਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਹਰਿਹਰਿਤਿਹਜਪਨਾ॥੧੨॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
- O Nanak, that Gurmukh chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||12||

ਆਤਮਰਸੁਜਿਹਜਾਨਿਆਹਰਿਰੰਗਸਹਜੇਮਾਣੁ॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਅਡੋਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ,
One who knows the taste of the Lord's sublime essence, intuitively enjoys the Lord's Love.
ਨਾਨਕਧਨਿਧਨਿਧੰਨਿਜਨਆਏਤੇਪਰਵਾਣੁ॥੧॥
ਉਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, blessed, blessed, blessed are the Lord's humble servants; how fortunate is their coming into the world! ||1||

ਆਇਆਸਫਲਤਾਹੂਕੋਗਨੀਐ॥
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਆਉਣਾ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਣੋ, (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਹੀ) ਆਇਆ ਸਮਝੋ,
How fruitful is the coming into the world, of those
ਜਾਸੁਰਸਨਹਰਿਹਰਿਜਸੁਭਨੀਐ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
whose tongues celebrate the Praises of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਆਇਬਸਹਿਸਾਧੂਕੈਸੰਗੇ॥
(ਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਟਿਕਦੇ ਹਨ,
They come and dwell with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy;
ਅਨਦਿਨੁਨਾਮੁਧਿਆਵਹਿਰੰਗੇ॥
ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
night and day, they lovingly meditate on the Naam.
ਆਵਤਸੋਜਨੁਨਾਮਹਿਰਾਤਾ॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Blessed is the birth of those humble beings who are attuned to the Naam;
ਜਾਕਉਦਇਆਮਇਆਬਿਧਾਤਾ॥
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਹੋਈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੋਈ।
the Lord, the Architect of Destiny, bestows His Kind Mercy upon them.
ਏਕਹਿਆਵਨਫਿਰਿਜੋਨਿਨਆਇਆ॥
(ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਇਕੋ ਵਾਰੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ,
They are born only once - they shall not be reincarnated again.
ਨਾਨਕਹਰਿਕੈਦਰਸਿਸਮਾਇਆ॥੧੩॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
O Nanak, they are absorbed into the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||13||
ਸਲੋਕੁ॥
Shalok:
ਯਾਸੁਜਪਤਮਨਿਹੋਇਅਨੰਦੁਬਿਨਸੈਦੂਜਾਭਾਉ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਂਭੇ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
Chanting it, the mind is filled with bliss; love of duality is eliminated,
ਦੂਖਦਰਦਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਬੁਝੈਨਾਨਕਨਾਮਿਸਮਾਉ॥੧॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ (ਤੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ) ਦੁਖ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹੋ ॥੧॥
and pain, distress and desires are quenched. O Nanak, immerse yourself in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
