ਅਛਰੋਉਛਾਹ॥੩੦੩॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਅਪੱਛਰਾਵਾਂ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੩੦੩॥
The vultures shirked and the warriors faced each other. They were bedecked nicely and there was unending zeal in them.303.

ਘੋੜੇ (ਪਾਵੰਗ) ਪਾਖਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ (ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ),
ਮੋਹਲੇਮਤੰਗ॥
ਹਾਥੀ ਮਸਤ ਸਨ,
ਚਾਵਡੀਚਿੰਕਾਰ॥
ਇੱਲਾਂ ਚੀਕਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ,
ਉਝਰੇਲੁਝਾਰ॥੩੦੪॥
ਸੂਰਮੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਉਲਝੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ॥੩੦੪॥
There were horses and intoxicated elephants bedecked with armours. The shrieks of the vultures were heard and the warriors were seen entangled with each other.304.
ਸਿੰਧਰੇਸੰਧੂਰ॥
ਹਾਥੀ ਸੰਧੂਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ,
ਬਜਏਤੰਦੂਰ॥
ਛੋਟੇ ਢੋਲ (ਤੰਦੂਰ) ਵੱਜਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਸਜੀਏਸੁਬਾਹ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਜਵਾਨ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ,
ਅਛਰੋਉਛਾਹ॥੩੦੫॥
(ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ) ਅਪੱਛਰਾਵਾਂ (ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਵੱਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੩੦੫॥
The elephants serene like sea were there and the trumpets were resounding, the long-armed warriors with unparalleled enthusiasm looked impressive.305.
ਬਿਝੁੜੇਉਝਾੜ॥
ਯੋਧੇ ਖਿੰਡ-ਪੁੰਡ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ (ਯੁੱਧ ਭੂਮੀ) ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
ਸੰਮਲੇਸੁਮਾਰ॥
ਖਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਯੋਧੇ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ
The warriors who never fell began to fall and also regain their control
ਹਾਹਲੇਹੰਕਾਰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹਾ-ਹਾ-ਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਹੁੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਅੰਕੜੇਅੰਗਾਰ॥੩੦੬॥
(ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਲ ਹੋਏ) ਸਰੀਰ ਅੰਗਾਰੇ (ਵਾਂਗ ਲਾਲ) ਸਨ ॥੩੦੬॥
There were egoistic attacks from all the four sides and the warriors blazed like embers.306.
ਸੰਮਲੇਲੁਝਾਰ॥
ਯੋਧੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ) ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਛੁਟਕੇਬਿਸਿਯਾਰ॥
ਵਿਹੁਲੇ ਤੀਰ (ਬਿਸਿਯਰ) ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਸੂਰਮੇ ਹਾ-ਹਾ-ਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਸੰਘਰੇਸੁਬੀਰ॥੩੦੭॥
ਯੋਧੇ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੩੦੭॥
The warriors were keeping their control and the weapons began to slip away from their hands like serpents.307.

ਗਜੰਗਜੇਹਯੰਹਲੇਹਲਾਹਲੀਹਲੋਹਲੰ॥
ਹਾਥੀ ਚਿੰਘਾੜਦੇ ਸਨ, ਘੋੜੇ ਦੌੜਦੇ ਸਨ, ਹੱਲੇ ਉਤੇ ਹੱਲੇ ਨਾਲ (ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ) ਹਲਚਲ ਮਚ ਗਈ ਸੀ,
ਬਬਜਸਿੰਧਰੇਸੁਰੰਛੁਟੰਤਬਾਣਕੇਵਲੰ॥
ਸੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਣਸਿੰਘੇ ਵਜਦੇ ਸਨ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਦੇ ਸਨ।
The horses began to move and elephant roared, there was confusion on all the four-sides, the musical instruments resounded and the harmonious sound of the discharge of arrows was heard
ਪਪਕਪਖਰੇਤੁਰੇਭਭਖਘਾਇਨਿਰਮਲੰ॥
ਪਰਪਕ ਪਾਖਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਭਕ-ਭਕ ਕਰਦਾ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ (ਲਹੂ) ਨਿਕਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਪਲੁਥਲੁਥਬਿਥਰੀਅਮਥਜੁਥਉਥਲੰ॥੩੦੮॥
ਲੋਥ ਤੇ ਲੋਥ ਚੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਸਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ (ਅਮਥ) ਧੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਉਛਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੩੦੮॥
The horses vied with one another in speed and the pure blood gushed out of the wounds. In the turmoil of the war, the corpses rolling in dust, scattered hither and thither.308.
ਅਜੁਥਲੁਥਬਿਥਰੀਮਿਲੰਤਹਥਬਖਯੰ॥
ਦੂਰ-ਦੂਰ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਖਿਲਰੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਸਨ। (ਲੋਥਾਂ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੱਥ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ,
ਅਘੁਮਘਾਇਘੁਮਏਬਬਕਬੀਰਦੁਧਰੰ॥
ਸਥਿਰ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਘੁੰਮ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਦੋਹਾਂ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਬਕਵਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ,
Because of the blows of the sword being stuck on the waists, the corpses were scattered and the warriors, turning with difficulty, began to strike bows with double-edged dagger.
ਕਿਲੰਕਰੰਤਖਪਰੀਪਿਪੰਤਸ੍ਰੋਣਪਾਣਯੰ॥
ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਕਿਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਾਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਲਹੂ ਪੀਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
The Yoginis while shrieking, and taking the blood in their hands began to drink it
ਹਹਕਭੈਰਵੰਸ੍ਰੁਤੰਉਠੰਤਜੁਧਜ੍ਵਾਲਯੰ॥੩੦੯॥
ਭੈਰਵ ਦੀ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਅਗਨੀ ਮੱਚ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੩੦੯॥
The Bhairvas roamed themselves in the field and the fires of war blazed.309.
ਫਿਕੰਤਫਿੰਕਤੀਫਿਰੰਰੜੰਤਗਿਧਬ੍ਰਿਧਣੰ॥
ਗਿਦੜੀਆਂ (ਫਿਕੰਤੀ) ਹੁੰਕਾਰਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਗਿਰਝਾਂ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
The jackals and big vultures roamed in the battlefield hither and thither
ਡਹਕਡਾਮਰੀਉਠੰਬਕਾਰਬੀਰਬੈਤਲੰ॥
ਡੌਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਡਹਕ-ਡਹਕ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਬਕਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
The vampires bellowed and the Baitals (ghosts) raised their shrill voice.
ਖਹਤਖਗਖਤ੍ਰੀਯੰਖਿਮੰਤਧਾਰਉਜਲੰ॥
ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਖੜਗ (ਜਦ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ) ਖਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ (ਤਾਂ) ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਿੱਟੀ ਧਾਰ ਲਿਸ਼ਕਦੀ ਸੀ।
ਘਣੰਕਜਾਣਸਾਵਲੰਲਸੰਤਬੇਗਬਿਜੁਲੰ॥੩੧੦॥
(ਇਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ) ਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਵਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਲੀਆਂ ਘਟਾਵਾਂ (ਘਣੰਕ) ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਲਿਸ਼ਕੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੩੧੦॥
The white-edged dagger in the hands of the Kshatriyas (Ram and Lakshman) was well-placed in their hands like the lightning in the dark clouds.310.
ਪਿਪੰਤਸ੍ਰੋਣਖਪਰੀਭਖੰਤਮਾਸਚਾਵਡੰ॥
ਖੱਪਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਲਹੂ ਪੀਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਹਕਾਰਵੀਰਸੰਭਿੜੈਲੁਝਾਰਧਾਰਦੁਧਰੰ॥
(ਦੋਹਾਂ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਯੋਧੇ ਲਲਕਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਸੰਭਲ ਕੇ ਧਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦੇ ਸਨ।
The Yoginis with the bowls were drinking blood and the kites were eating flesh, the warriors keeping control of their double-edged spears were fighting, while shouting at their companions.
ਪੁਕਾਰਮਾਰਕੈਪਰੇਸਹੰਤਅੰਗਭਾਰਯੰ॥
ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ ਪੁਕਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਭਾਰ ਸਹਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਬਿਹਾਰਦੇਵਮੰਡਲੰਕਟੰਤਖਗਧਾਰਯੰ॥੩੧੧॥
(ਜੋ) ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ, (ਉਹ) ਦੇਵ-ਮੰਡਲ (ਸੁਅਰਗ) ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੩੧੧॥
They were shouting “kill, kill” and bearing the burden of their weapons, some warriors were there in the cities of gods (i.e. they had died) and some are chopping other warriors.311.
ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਵਾਰਪੈਜਕੈਖੁਮਾਰਿਘਾਇਘੂਮਹੀ॥
(ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਜ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਲਲਕਾਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੁਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਝੂਮ ਕੇ ਇਉਂ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਤਪੀਮਨੋਅਧੋਮੁਖੰਸੁਧੂਮਆਗਧੂਮਹੀ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਤਪਸਵੀ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਰਕੇ ਧੂੰਏਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਪੀ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ।
The warriors, hurling their blows, were roaming in intoxication like the ascetics performing austerities and swinging with their faces bent downward over the smoke
ਤੁਟੰਤਅੰਗਭੰਗਯੰਬਹੰਤਅਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰਯੰ॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ) ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਵਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਅੰਗ-ਭੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਉਠੰਤਛਿਛਇਛਯੰਪਿਪੰਤਮਾਸਹਾਰਯੰ॥੩੧੨॥
ਲਹੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਛਿੱਟਾਂ ਉਡਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਸਾਹਾਰੀ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੩੧੨॥
There is flow of arms and the broken limbs were falling down, the waves of the desire of victory are rising and the chopped flesh is falling.312.
ਅਘੋਰਘਾਇਅਘਏਕਟੇਪਰੇਸੁਪ੍ਰਾਸਨੰ॥
ਕੱਟੇ ਪਏ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਸਨੰ) ਅਘੋਰੀ ਰਜ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
ਘੁਮੰਤਜਾਣਰਾਵਲੰਲਗੇਸੁਸਿਧਆਸਣੰ॥
(ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਇਉਂ) ਮੂਧੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਪਏ ਸਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਯੋਗੀ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਧ ਆਸਣ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
The Aghori (Sadhus) seem pleased in eating the chopped limbs and the Siddhas and Rawalpanthis, the devourers of flesh and blood have taken seats with postures
ਪਰੰਤਅੰਗਭੰਗਹੁਇਬਕੰਤਮਾਰਮਾਰਯੰ॥
(ਕਈਆਂ ਦੇ) ਅੰਗ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਬਦੰਤਜਾਣਬੰਦੀਯੰਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤਕ੍ਰਿਤਅਪਾਰਯੰ॥੩੧੩॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬੋਲਣਾ (ਇਉਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ) ਮਾਨੋ ਬੰਦੀ-ਜਨ ਅਪਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਬੋਲ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੩੧੩॥
Shouting “kill, kill” the warriors are falling with broken limbs and because of their bravery, they are being greeted.313.
ਬਜੰਤਤਾਲਤੰਬੂਰੰਬਿਸੇਖਬੀਨਬੇਣਯੰ॥
ਛੈਣੇ, ਛੋਟੇ ਢੋਲ, ਬੰਸਰੀ,
ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗਝਾਲਨਾਫਿਰੰਸਨਾਇਭੇਰਭੈਕਰੰ॥
ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ, ਝਾਲ, ਨਫ਼ੀਰੀ, ਸਨਾਇ ਤੇ ਭੇਰੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਜ ਵਜਦੇ ਸਨ,
The special sound obstructing the blows on the shields is being heard, the mixed sound of the harp, flute, drum, kettle-drum etc. is creating a dreadful atmosphere.
ਉਠੰਤਨਾਦਿਨਿਰਮਲੰਤੁਟੰਤਤਾਲਤਥਿਯੰ॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਸਨ (ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ) ਟਕ-ਟਕ ਦਾ ਤਾਲ ਟੁੱਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
ਬਦੰਤਕਿਤਬੰਦੀਅੰਕਬਿੰਦ੍ਰਕਾਬਯਕਥਿਯੰ॥੩੧੪॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ) ਮਾਨੋ ਬੰਦੀ-ਜਨ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਵੀ ਰਾਜ ਕਵਿਤਾ-ਪਾਠ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੩੧੪॥
The beautiful sounds also rearing the tunes of the blows of different kinds of weapons are arising in the battlefield, somewhere the servitors are busy in prayers and somewhere the poets are reciting their compositions.314.
ਢਲੰਤਢਾਲਮਾਲਯੰਖਹੰਤਖਗਖੇਤਯੰ॥
ਢਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ (ਮਾਲਯੰ) ਤੋਂ ਢੱਲ ਢੱਲ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਠਹਿਕਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਚਲੰਤਬਾਣਤੀਛਣੰਅਨੰਤਅੰਤਕੰਕਯੰ॥
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤਿੱਖੇ ਬਾਣ ਚਲਦੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
The sound of obstructing the shields and the sound of the striking swords are being heard and the sharp arrows destroying innumerable people are being discharged
