ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਕਰਮਕਾਰਣੰ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੂ ਤੇ ਬਸ਼ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਬਿਹਾਲਦਿਆਲਤਾਰਣੰ॥੨੦੪॥
ਮਾੜੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਦਿਆਲੂ ਹੈ ॥੨੦੪॥
“He is merciful and kind towards all and mercifully gives support to helpless and ferries them across.204.
ਅਨੇਕਸੰਤਤਾਰਣੰ॥
ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੇ,
ਅਦੇਵਦੇਵਕਾਰਣੰ॥
ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ।
“He is the saviour of many saints and is the basic cause of the gods and demons.
ਸੁਰੇਸਭਾਇਰੂਪਣੰ॥
ਇੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
ਸਮਿਧ੍ਰਸਿਧਕੂਪਣੰ॥੨੦੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਮੁੱਕ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੨੦੫॥
“He is also the king of gods and is the store of all powers.”205.
ਬਰੰਨਰੇਸਦੀਜੀਐ॥
(ਫਿਰ ਕੈਕਈ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੀ-) ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਵਰ ਦਿਓ।
ਕਹੇਸੁਪੂਰਕੀਜੀਐ॥
ਜੋ (ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਕਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰੋ।
The queen said, “O king! Grant me the boons and fulfil thy sayins.
ਨਸੰਕਰਾਜਧਾਰੀਐ॥
ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੰਕਾ ਨਾ ਧਾਰੋ,
ਨਬੋਲਬੋਲਹਾਰੀਐ॥੨੦੬॥
ਬੋਲ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਬੋਲ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਹਾਰੋ ॥੨੦੬॥
“Adandon the position of duality from your mind and do not fail in your promise.”206.

ਨਲਾਜੀਐ॥
(ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ!) ਲੱਜਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ

(ਬਚਨ ਤੋਂ) ਨਾ ਫਿਰੋ,
ਰਘੁਏਸਕੋ॥
ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ
ਬਨੇਸਕੋ॥੨੦੭॥
ਤਪੋ ਬਣ ਵਲ ਭੇਜੋ ॥੨੦੭॥
“O king! Do not hesitate and run away from your promise, give exile to Ram.207.
ਬਿਦਾਕਰੋ॥
(ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ) ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਓ,
ਧਰਾਹਰੋ॥
ਧਰਤੀ (ਦਾ ਭਾਰ) ਦੂਰ ਕਰੋ,
ਨਭਾਜੀਐ॥
(ਬਚਨ ਤੋਂ) ਨਾ ਫਿਰੋ,
ਬਿਰਾਜੀਐ॥੨੦੮॥
ਸਥਿਰ ਹੋਵੋ ॥੨੦੮॥
“Bid farewell to Ram and take back the proposed rule from him. Don’t run away from your promise and be seated peacefully.208.
ਬਸਿਸਟਕੋ॥
(ਹੇ ਰਾਜਾ!) ਵਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਟ
ਦਿਜਿਸਟਕੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਪੁਰੋਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ
ਬੁਲਾਈਐ॥
ਬੁਲਾ ਲਵੋ
ਪਠਾਈਐ॥੨੦੯॥
(ਅਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਣ) ਭੇਜੋ ॥੨੦੯॥
“O king! Cal Vasishtha and the royal priest and send Ram to the forest.”209.
ਨਰੇਸਜੀ॥
ਰਾਜੇ (ਦਸ਼ਰਥ) ਨੇ
ਉਸੇਸਲੀ॥
ਠੰਡਾ ਸਾਹ ਲਿਆ
ਘੁਮੇਘਿਰੇ॥
ਅਤੇ ਘੇਰਨੀ ਖਾ ਕੇ
ਧਰਾਗਿਰੇ॥੨੧੦॥
ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ॥੨੧੦॥
The king heaved a long sigh, moved hither and thither and then fell down.210.
ਸੁਚੇਤਭੇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜਾ
ਅਚੇਤਤੇ॥
ਅਚੇਤ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹੋਇਆ
ਉਸਾਸਲੈ॥
ਤਾਂ ਹੌਕਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ
ਉਦਾਸਹ੍ਵੈ॥੨੧੧॥
ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੧੧॥
The king again came to his senses from the stupor and grievously heaved a long breath.211.

UGAADH STANZA
ਸਬਾਰਨੈਣੰ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਜਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾ ਨਾਲ
ਉਦਾਸਬੈਣੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਦਾਸ ਬਚਨਾਂ (ਨਾਲ ਕੈਕਈ ਨੂੰ)
With tears in his eyes and anguish in his utterance,
ਕਹਿਯੋਕੁਨਾਰੀ॥
ਕਿਹਾ- ਹੇ ਨੀਚ ਔਰਤ!
ਕੁਬ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਰੀ॥੨੧੨॥
ਬੁਰੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਵਾਲੀ! ॥੨੧੨॥
The kin said to Kaikeyi, “You are a mean and evil woman.212.
ਕਲੰਕਰੂਪਾ॥
ਹੈ ਕਲੰਕ ਰੂਪਣੀ!
ਕੁਵਿਰਤਕੂਪਾ॥
ਹੇ ਬੁਰੀ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਦੀ ਖੂਹ!
“You are a blemish on womankind and a store of vices.
ਨਿਲਜਨੈਣੀ॥
ਹੇ ਨਿਰਲਜ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ!
ਕੁਬਾਕਬੈਣੀ॥੨੧੩॥
ਹੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ! ॥੨੧੩॥
“You have no shame in your eyes and your words are ignominious.213.
ਕਲੰਕਕਰਣੀ॥
ਹੇ ਕਲੰਕ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ!
ਸਮ੍ਰਿਧਹਰਣੀ॥
ਹੇ ਅਮੀਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ!
“You are evil woman and are the destroyer of enhancement.
ਅਕ੍ਰਿਤਕਰਮਾ॥
ਹੇ ਨ ਕਰਨ ਯੋਗ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ!
ਨਿਲਜਧਰਮਾ॥੨੧੪॥
ਹੇ ਨਿਰਲਜ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਲੀ! ॥੨੧੪॥
“You are performer of evil deeds and shameless in your Dharma.214.
ਅਲਜਧਾਮੰ॥
ਹੇ ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮੀ ਦਾ ਘਰ
ਨਿਲਜਬਾਮੰ॥
ਰੂਪ ਨਿਰਲਜ ਇਸਤਰੀ!
“You are the abode of shamelessness and a woman forsaking hesitation (shyness).
ਅਸੋਭਕਰਣੀ॥
ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ!
ਸਸੋਭਹਰਣੀ॥੨੧੫॥
ਹੇ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ! ॥੨੧੫॥
“You are the performer of misdeeds and destroyer of glory.215.
