ਬਾਜਸਾਜਸਣੈਚੜੀਸਭਸੁਭ੍ਰਧਉਲਉਤਾਲ॥੧੯੮॥
(ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ) ਸਾਮਾਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਜਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਮੰਥਰਾ) ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮਹੱਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਈ ॥੧੯੮॥
Who embellished with all kinds of arts and wearing white garments started very quickly.198.
ਬੇਣਬੀਣਮ੍ਰਦੰਗਬਾਦਸੁਣੇਰਹੀਚਕਬਾਲ॥
ਬੰਸਰੀ ਬੀਣਾ ਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਆਦਿਕ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ (ਉਹ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ।
She was surprised to listen to the sound of lyre, drum and other musical instruments,
ਰਾਮਰਾਜਉਠੀਜਯਤਧੁਨਿਭੂਮਿਭੂਰਬਿਸਾਲ॥
(ਇੰਨੇ ਨੂੰ) ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਜੈ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਉੱਠੀ
And also saw on that wide plain the sound hailing the victory of ram Rajya was being heard.
ਜਾਤਹੀਸੰਗਿਕੇਕਈਇਹਭਾਤਿਬੋਲੀਬਾਤਿ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਉਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਕੈਕਈ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੀ।
Going near Kaikeyi she addressed her in this way :
ਹਾਥਬਾਤਛੁਟੀਚਲੀਬਰਮਾਗਹੈਂਕਿਹਰਾਤਿ॥੧੯੯॥
(ਹੁਣ) ਗੱਲ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਚੱਲੀ ਹੈ, (ਤੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਉਹ) ਵਰ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਗੇਂਗੀ? ॥੧੯੯॥
“When the opportunity will go out of hand, then for whom you will ask for the boons?”199.
ਕੇਕਈਇਮਜਉਸੁਨੀਭਈਦੁਖਤਾਸਰਬੰਗ॥
ਕੈਕਈ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਗਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
When Kaikeye heard all the account, she was completely full of anguish,
ਝੂਮਭੂਮਗਿਰੀਮ੍ਰਿਗੀਜਿਮਲਾਗਬਣਸੁਰੰਗ॥
ਗਸ਼ ਖਾ ਕੇ (ਧਰਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਿਰਨੀ ਤੀਰ ਲੱਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਡਿੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
And fell down unconscious on the earth like the doe pierced by an arrow.
ਜਾਤਹੀਅਵਧੇਸਕਉਇਹਭਾਤਿਬੋਲੀਬੈਨ॥
(ਜਦੋਂ ਸੁਰਤ ਪਰਤੀ ਤਾਂ) ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੋਲਣ ਲੱਗੀ-ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ!
Going in the presence of king of Oudh, she said this :
ਦੀਜੀਏਬਰਭੂਪਮੋਕਉਜੋਕਹੇਦੁਇਦੈਨ॥੨੦੦॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਰ ਦਿਓ (ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਵਰ ਕਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ॥੨੦੦॥
“O king! You had promised to grant me two boons, grant them to me just now.200.
ਰਾਮਕੋਬਨਦੀਜੀਐਮਮਪੂਤਕਉਨਿਜਰਾਜ॥
ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਨਵਾਸ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਭਰਤ) ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਜ ਦਿਓ।
“Give exile to Ram and your kingdom, wealth, whisk an canopy-everything.
ਰਾਜਸਾਜਸੁਸੰਪਦਾਦੋਊਚਉਰਛਤ੍ਰਸਮਾਜ॥
ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਸਾਮਾਨ, ਸੰਪੱਤੀ ਦੇਵੋ ਚੌਰ ਤੇ ਛਤਰ
Give him ( Bharat) the kingdom, wealth, whisk and canopy-everything
ਦੇਸਅਉਰਿਬਿਦੇਸਕੀਠਕੁਰਾਇਦੈਸਭਮੋਹਿ॥
ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼-ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਓ।
“When you will grant me the ruling power over the inland and foreign countries,
ਸਤਸੀਲਸਤੀਜਤਬ੍ਰਤਤਉਪਛਾਨੋਤੋਹਿ॥੨੦੧॥
ਤਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਤ, ਸ਼ੀਲ, ਜਤ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਛਾਣਾਂਗੀ ॥੨੦੧॥
“Then I shall consider you the observer of truthfulness and recognizer of righteousness.”201.
ਪਾਪਨੀਬਨਰਾਮਕੋਪੈਹੈਂਕਹਾਜਸਕਾਢ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ-) ਹੇ ਪਾਪਣੇ! ਬਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਕੇ ਕੀ ਯਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਂਗੀ?
The king replied, “O sinful woman! What approbation you will gain by sending Ram to the forest?
ਭਸਮਆਨਨਤੇਗਈਕਹਿਕੈਸਕੇਅਸਿਬਾਢ॥
ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਆਹ ਪੈ ਗਈ, ਇਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਕਾਟ ਵਰਗੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤੀ?
“By such surpassing utterance of yours the ash of magnificence on my forehead has flown down with the upcoming perspiration.”
ਕੋਪਭੂਪਕੁਅੰਡਲੈਤੁਹਿਕਾਟੀਐਇਹਕਾਲ॥
ਫਿਰ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਜਾ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗਾ)-ਇਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੱਟ ਦੇਵਾਂ,
The king taking his bow in his hand said this angrily, “I would have chopped and thrown you just now,
ਨਾਸਤੋਰਨਕੀਜੀਐਤਕਛਾਡੀਐਤੁਹਿਬਾਲ॥੨੦੨॥
ਪਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੨੦੨॥
“And destroyed you, but I let you go because you are a woman.”202.

ਨਗ ਸਰੂਪੀ ਛੰਦ
NAG SWAROOPI STANZA
ਨਰਦੇਵਦੇਵਰਾਮਹੈ॥
ਰਾਮ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈ
ਅਭੇਵਧਰਮਧਾਮਹੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਭੇਦ ਰਹਿਤ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਹੈ।
“The superb god amongst men is Ram who is certainly the abode of Dhrma,
ਅਬੁਧਨਾਰਿਤੈਮਨੈ॥
ਹੇ ਬੇਵਕੂਫ਼ ਇਸਤਰੀ! ਤੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਤੋਂ
ਬਿਸੁਧਬਾਤਕੋਭਨੈ॥੨੦੩॥
ਕਮਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ ॥੨੦੩॥
“O foolish woman! why are you uttering such contrary words?203.
ਅਗਾਧਿਦੇਵਅਨੰਤਹੈ॥
ਰਾਮ ਅੰਤ-ਰਹਿਤ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਦੇਵ ਹੈ,
ਅਭੂਤਸੋਭਵੰਤਹੈ॥
ਤੱਤ੍ਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
“He is unfathomable and infinite god and is highly seated beyond all elements.
