ਨਰੇਸਸੰਗਿਕੈਦਏ॥
ਰਾਜੇ (ਘੋੜੇ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨਬੀਨਕੈਲਏ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਚੁਣ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਲਏ,
The king Dasrath made selection of other efficient kings and sent them with the horse.
ਸਨਧਬਧਹੁਇਚਲੇ॥
ਜੋ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਸਜਿੱਤ ਸਨ
ਸੁਬੀਰਬੀਰਹਾਭਲੇ॥੧੮੭॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੮੭॥
They went having been completely embellished. These brave men were of very gentle demeanour.187.
ਬਿਦੇਸਦੇਸਗਾਹਕੈ॥
ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਹ ਕੇ ਨ ਸਾੜੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ
ਅਦਾਹਠਉਰਦਾਹਕੈ॥
ਜਗ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ
They roamed in several countries, both inland and foreign and at all the places they destroyed (the pride of) all with the blaze of their glory.
ਫਿਰਾਇਬਾਜਰਾਜਕਉ॥
(ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ) ਫਿਰਾ ਕੇ
ਸੁਧਾਰਰਾਜਕਾਜਕਉ॥੧੮੮॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕੇ (ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਗਏ) ॥੧੮੮॥
They caused their horse to revolve on all the four sides and in this way they enhanced the royal prestige of king Dasrath.188.
ਨਰੇਸਪਾਇਲਾਗੀਯੰ॥
ਰਾਜਾ (ਦਸ਼ਰਥ) ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਚਰਨੀਂ ਆ ਲੱਗੇ।
ਦੁਰੰਤਦੋਖਭਾਗੀਯੰ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਦੋਖ ਵੀ ਮਿਟ ਗਏ,
Many kings bowed at his feet and he removed all their agonies.
ਸੁਪੂਰਜਗਕੋਕਰਯੋ॥
ਯੱਗ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਨਰੇਸਤ੍ਰਾਸਕਉਹਰਿਯੋ॥੧੮੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੮੯॥
He completed his Yajna and in this way destroyed the anguish of his subjects.189.
ਅਨੰਤਦਾਨਪਾਇਕੈ॥
ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ
ਚਲੇਦਿਜੰਅਘਾਇਕੈ॥
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
Receiving the gifts of many kinds the Brahmins pleased and satisfied in their mind they moved back to their places.
ਦੁਰੰਤਆਸਿਖੈਂਰੜੈਂ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ
ਰਿਚਾਸੁਬੇਦਕੀਪੜੈਂ॥੧੯੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਵੇਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਿਚਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੯੦॥
Giving the blessing of various kinds and singing the Vedic mantras.190.
ਨਰੇਸਦੇਸਦੇਸਕੇ॥
ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ-ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ
ਸੁਭੰਤਬੇਸਬੇਸਕੇ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੋਭਦੇ ਸਨ।
The kings of the inland and foreign countries decorate themselves in various garbs,
ਬਿਸੇਖਸੂਰਸੋਭਹੀਂ॥
ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ
ਸੁਸੀਲਨਾਰਿਲੋਭਹੀਂ॥੧੯੧॥
ਸੁਸ਼ੀਲ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਲੋਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੧੯੧॥
And noticing the significant glory of the warriors, the beautiful and cultured women were allured towards them.191.
ਬਜੰਤ੍ਰਕੋਟਬਾਜਹੀਂ॥
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਾਜੇ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਸਨਾਇਭੇਰਸਾਜਹੀਂ॥
ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਈਆਂ ਤੇ ਭੇਰੀਆਂ ਸੱਜ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
Millions of musical instruments were played and all the bedecked persons were full of love.
ਬਨਾਇਦੇਵਤਾਧਰੈਂ॥
ਦੇਵਤੇ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਸਮਾਨਜਾਇਪਾਪਰੈਂ॥੧੯੨॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਦਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੯੨॥
The idols of gods were established and all were bowing with respect to the gods, expressing their gratitude.192.
ਕਰੈਡੰਡਉਤਪਾਪਰੈਂ॥
ਡੰਡੋਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਬਿਸੇਖਭਾਵਨਾਧਰੈਂ॥
ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ।
All the people prostrated and bowed at the feet of gods and were assuming significant emotions in their minds.
ਸੁਮੰਤ੍ਰਜੰਤ੍ਰਜਾਪੀਐ॥
ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਯੰਤ੍ਰ ਜਪਦੇ ਸਨ
ਦੁਰੰਤਥਾਪਥਾਪੀਐ॥੧੯੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ-ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਸਥਾਪਨਾਵਾਂ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੯੩॥
Therefore was recitation of mantras and yantras and the idols of Ganas were being fixed.193.
ਨਚਾਤਚਾਰੁਮੰਗਨਾ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਚ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ
ਸੁਜਾਨਦੇਵਅੰਗਨਾ॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਅਪਸਰਾਵਾਂ ਹੋਣ।
Beautiful women and heavenly damsels began to dance.
ਕਮੀਨਕਉਨਕਾਜਕੀ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ,
ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਰਾਮਰਾਜਕੀ॥੧੯੪॥
ਸਭ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਸੀ ॥੧੯੪॥
In this way there was the sway of Ram Rajya and there was no dearth of anything.194.

ਦੇਸਦੇਸਨਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਆਸਿਖਵੰਤਹੈਂਦਿਜਏਕ॥
ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ-ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ
On one side the Brahmins are teaching about the activities of various countries,
ਬਾਨਅਉਰਕਮਾਨਕੀਬਿਧਦੇਤਆਨਿਅਨੇਕ॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਤੇ ਕਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
And on the other side the methods of archery are being reveled.
ਭਾਤਭਾਤਨਸੋਂਪੜਾਵਤਬਾਰਨਾਰਿਸਿੰਗਾਰ॥
ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ-ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਲਕਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
Instructions are being given about various types of the embellishments of women.
ਕੋਕਕਾਬਯਪੜੈਕਹੂੰਬਯਾਕਰਨਬੇਦਬਿਚਾਰ॥੧੯੫॥
ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਕੋਕ ਤੇ ਕਾਵਿ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਆਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯੫॥
The art of love, poetry, grammar and Vedic learning are being taught side by side.195.
ਰਾਮਪਰਮਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਹੈਰਘੁਬੰਸਕੇਅਵਤਾਰ॥
ਰਾਮ ਰਘੂਬੰਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹਨ।
The incarnation of Ram of the clan of Raghu is extremely pure.
ਦੁਸਟਦੈਤਨਕੇਸੰਘਾਰਕਸੰਤਪ੍ਰਾਨਅਧਾਰ॥
ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਹਨ।
He is the destroyer of tyrants and demons and is thus the support of the life-breath of the saints.
ਦੇਸਿਦੇਸਿਨਰੇਸਜੀਤਅਸੇਸਕੀਨਗੁਲਾਮ॥
ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ-ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
He has subordinate the king of various countries by conquering them,
ਜਤ੍ਰਤਤ੍ਰਧੁਜਾਬਧੀਜੈਪਤ੍ਰਕੀਸਭਧਾਮ॥੧੯੬॥
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿਥੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਝੰਡੀਆਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੧੯੬॥
And his banners of victory are fluttering here, there and everywhere.196.
ਬਾਟਿਤੀਨਦਿਸਾਤਿਹੂੰਸੁਤਰਾਜਧਾਨੀਰਾਮ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਦਸ਼ਰਥ ਨੇ) ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ
The king gave his three sons the kingdoms of three directions and gave Ram the kingdom of his capital Ayodhya,
ਬੋਲਰਾਜਬਿਸਿਸਟਕੀਨਬਿਚਾਰਕੇਤਕਜਾਮ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਵਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਟ ਮੁਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਚਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
After discussing for a long time with Vasishtha,
ਸਾਜਰਾਘਵਰਾਜਕੇਘਟਪੂਰਿਰਾਖਸਿਏਕ॥
ਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ-ਤਿਲਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਘੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
There lived a demoness in the house of Dasrath in disguise,
ਆਂਬ੍ਰਮਉਲਨਦੀਸੁਉਦਕੰਅਉਰਪੁਹਪਅਨੇਕ॥੧੯੭॥
ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਬ ਦਾ ਬੂਰ (ਮਉਲ) ਤੇ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਜਲ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਫੁੱਲ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਨ ॥੧੯੭॥
Who had asked for all this activity the fructifying mango dust, pure water of the stream and many flowers.197.
ਥਾਰਚਾਰਅਪਾਰਕੁੰਕਮਚੰਦਨਾਦਿਅਨੰਤ॥
ਚਾਰ ਥਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਚੰਦਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਸਰ ਭਰ ਕੇ
Four adorned slavers containing saffron, sandalwood etc.,
ਰਾਜਸਾਜਧਰੇਸਭੈਤਹਆਨਆਨਦੁਰੰਤ॥
ਰਾਜ ਤਿਲਕ ਦੀ ਸਾਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Were kept with the king for the fulfillment of this function.
ਮੰਥਰਾਇਕਗਾਧ੍ਰਬੀਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਪਠੀਤਿਹਕਾਲ॥
ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੰਥਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਗੰਧਰਬਨੀ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
