ਬ੍ਰਹਮਬਿਸਨਮਹਿਭੇਦੁਨਲਹੀਐ॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ) ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
It hath been said in Shastras and Smrities that there is no difference between Brahma and Vishnu.7.

ਸਬਹੀਜਨਧਰਮਕੇਕਰਮਲਗੇ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਲੋਕ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਲਗ ਗਏ।
ਤਜਿਜੋਗਕੀਰੀਤਿਕੀਪ੍ਰੀਤਿਭਗੇ॥
(ਲੋਕੀ) ਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
All the people absorbed themselves in the works of Dharma, but the time came when the discipline of Yoga and Bhakti (devotion) was abandoned
ਜਬਧਰਮਚਲੇਤਬਜੀਉਬਢੇ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਧਰਮ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
ਜਨੁਕੋਟਿਸਰੂਪਕੇਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਗਢੇ॥੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਘੜ ਲਏ ॥੧॥
When the path of Dharma is adopted, all the souls get pleased and practising equality, they visualize One Brahman within all.1.
ਜਗਜੀਵਨਭਾਰਭਰੀਧਰਣੀ॥
ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਤੀ ਭਰ ਗਈ,
ਦੁਖਆਕੁਲਜਾਤਨਹੀਬਰਣੀ॥
(ਫਲਸਰੂਪ) ਦੁਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ (ਹੋ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
This earth was pressed under the lord of sufferings of the people of the world and it was impossible to describe its anguish and agony
ਧਰਰੂਪਗਊਦਧਸਿੰਧਗਈ॥
(ਧਰਤੀ) ਗਊ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਛੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਈ
ਜਗਨਾਇਕਪੈਦੁਖੁਰੋਤਭਈ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਦੁਖ ਰੋ ਕੇ ਦਸਿਆ ॥੨॥
Then the earth transformed itself into a cow and weeping bitterly, she reached the milk-ocean before the Non-temporal Lord.2.
ਹਸਿਕਾਲਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਭਏਤਬਹੀ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਦੁਖੜਾ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਿਆ
ਦੁਖਸ੍ਰਉਨਨਭੂਮਿਸੁਨਿਯੋਜਬਹੀ॥
ਤਾਂ ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਸ ਪਏ।
When the Lord heard with His own ears the sufferings of the earth, then the Destroyer Lord was pleased and laughed
ਢਿਗਬਿਸਨੁਬੁਲਾਇਲਯੋਅਪਨੇ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ
ਇਹਭਾਤਿਕਹਿਯੋਤਿਹਕੋਸੁਪਨੇ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ॥੩॥
He called Vishnu in His presence and said to him in this way.3.
ਸੁਕਹਿਯੋਤੁਮਰੁਦ੍ਰਸਰੂਪਧਰੋ॥
('ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ' ਨੇ) ਕਿਹਾ, (ਹੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਰੁਦਰ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ
ਜਗਜੀਵਨਕੋਚਲਿਨਾਸਕਰੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰ।
The destroyer Lord asked Vishnu to manifest himself as Rudra in order to destroy the beings of the world
ਤਬਹੀਤਿਹਰੁਦ੍ਰਸਰੂਪਧਰਿਯੋ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰੁਦਰ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਜਗਜੰਤਸੰਘਾਰਕੇਜੋਗਕਰਿਯੋ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਯੋਗ (ਮਤ) ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੪॥
Then Vishnu manifested himself as Rudra and destroying the beings of the world, he established Yoga.4.
ਕਹਿਹੋਂਸਿਵਜੈਸਕਜੁਧਕੀਏ॥
(ਮੈਂ) ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤੇ
ਸੁਖਸੰਤਨਕੋਜਿਹਭਾਤਿਦੀਏ॥
ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
I shall describe now as to how Shiva waged wars and gave comfort to the saints
ਗਨਿਯੋਜਿਹਭਾਤਿਬਰੀਗਿਰਜਾ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਦਸਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪਾਰਬਤੀ (ਗਿਰਿਜਾ) ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ
ਜਗਜੀਤਸੁਯੰਬਰਮੋਸੁਪ੍ਰਭਾ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ) ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਅੰਬਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਤਿਆ ॥੫॥
I shall also tell how he wedded Parbati after conquering her in the Swayyamvara (self-selection of a husband from amongst the suitors).5.
ਜਿਮਅੰਧਕਸੋਹਰਿਜੁਧੁਕਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੰਧਕ (ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੈਂਤ) ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ
ਜਿਹਭਾਤਿਮਨੋਜਕੋਮਾਨਹਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਮ ਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ;
How Shiva waged a war against Andgakasura? How is effaced the pride of Cupid?
ਦਲਦੈਤਦਲੇਕਰਕੋਪਜਿਮੰ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਕਹਿਹੋਸਬਛੋਰਿਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਤਿਮੰ॥੬॥
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੱਢੋਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੬॥
Getting furious, how he mashed the gathering of demons? I shall describe all these anecdotes.6.
ਪਾਧਰੀਛੰਦ॥
ਪਾਧਰੀ ਛੰਦ:
PADHAARI STANZA
ਜਬਹੋਤਧਰਨਭਾਰਾਕਰਾਤ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਭਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਤੀ ਪੀੜਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ
ਤਬਪਰਤਨਾਹਿਤਿਹਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਸਾਤਿ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ।
When the earth is pressed by the load of sins, then she cannot have peace in her heart.
ਤਬਦਧਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਿਕਰਈਪੁਕਾਰ॥
ਤਦ (ਉਹ) ਛੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ
ਤਬਧਰਤਬਿਸਨਰੁਦ੍ਰਾਵਤਾਰ॥੭॥
ਤਦ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਰੁਦਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
Then she goes and shouts loudly in the milk-ocean and the Rudra incarnation of Vishnu is manifested.7.
ਤਬਕਰਤਸਕਲਦਾਨਵਸੰਘਾਰ॥
ਤਦ (ਰੁਦਰ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਰਿਦਨੁਜਪ੍ਰਲਵਸੰਤਨਉਧਾਰ॥
ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਪਰਲੋ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਉੱਧਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
After manifestation, Rudra destroys the demons and crushing them, he protects the saints.
ਇਹਭਾਤਿਸਕਲਕਰਿਦੁਸਟਨਾਸ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕੇ
ਪੁਨਿਕਰਤਿਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਭਗਵਾਨਬਾਸ॥੮॥
ਫਿਰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥
In this way, destroying all the tyrants, he then abides in the heart of his devotees.8.

ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰੈਇਕਦੈਤਬਢਿਯੋਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰੰ॥
ਤਿਪੁਰ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਦੈਂਤ (ਮਧੁ ਦੈਂਤ ਵਲੋਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ) ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਕੜ ਗਿਆ।
ਜਿਹਤੇਜਤਪੈਰਵਿਜਿਉਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰੰ॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਵਾਂਗ ਤੇਜ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਪੁਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤਪਦਾ ਸੀ।
In Trupura State lived a three-eyed demons, whose glory was equal to the glory of the Sun, which spread over the three worlds.
ਬਰਦਾਇਮਹਾਸੁਰਐਸਭਯੋ॥
ਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ (ਉਹ) ਮਹਾ ਦੈਂਤ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ
ਜਿਨਿਲੋਕਚਤੁਰਦਸਜੀਤਲਯੋ॥੯॥
ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤ ਲਿਆ ॥੯॥
After receiving the boon, that demons become so powerful that he conquered all the fourteen regions of the universe.9.
ਜੋਊਏਕਹੀਬਾਣਹਣੇਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੈਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਦਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸੀ ਕਿ) ਜੋ ਇਕੋ ਤੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਰਖਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ,
ਸੋਊਨਾਸਕਰੈਤਿਹਦੈਤਦੁਰੰ॥
ਉਹੀ ਉਸ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਦੈਂਤ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
(That demon had this boon) that anyone who had the power to kill him with one arrow, he only could kill that terrible demon.
ਅਸਕੋਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋਕਬਿਤਾਹਿਗਨੈ॥
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੌਣ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ? ਕਵੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਇਕਬਾਣਹੀਸੋਪੁਰਤੀਨਹਨੈ॥੧੦॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਤਿੰਨੋ ਪੁਰੀਆਂ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੧੦॥
The poet now wants to describe that mighty warrior who could kill that three-eyed demon with one arrow.10.
