ਚਲਿਯੋਰੋਸਸ੍ਰੀਰਾਮਲੀਨੇਕੁਠਾਰੰ॥੩੧॥
ਪਰਸ਼ੁਰਾਮ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਹਾੜਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ) ਚਲ ਪਿਆ ॥੩੧॥
The Brahmin, in great agony called Parashurama, who, holding his axe, moved with great fury.31.
ਸੁਨ੍ਯੋਸਰਬਭੂਪੰਹਠੀਰਾਮਆਏ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ (ਛਤਰੀ) ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਹਠੀਲਾ ਪਰਸ਼ੁਰਾਮ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸਭੰਜੁਧੁਕੋਸਸਤ੍ਰਅਸਤ੍ਰੰਬਨਾਏ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਜਾ ਲਏ।
When all the kings heard that taking a vow of killing Kshatriyas, the persistent Parashurama had arrived, then all of them prepared for war, taking all their weapons.
ਚੜੇਚਉਪਕੈਕੈਕੀਏਜੁਧਐਸੇ॥
ਬੜੇ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਨਾਲ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਪ੍ਰਸਥਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਮਨੋਰਾਮਸੋਰਾਵਣੰਲੰਕਜੈਸੇ॥੩੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਲੰਕਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਾਵਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੩੨॥
In great ire, all of them came to wage the war like Rana and Ravana in Sri Lanka.32.
ਲਗੇਸਸਤ੍ਰੰਅਸਤ੍ਰੰਲਖੇਰਾਮਅੰਗੰ॥
ਪਰਸ਼ੁਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਅੰਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਖੇ
ਗਹੇਬਾਣਪਾਣੰਕੀਏਸਤ੍ਰਭੰਗੰ॥
(ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼-ਬਾਣ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When Parashurama saw that he was being attacked with arms and weapons, then he took the arrows in hand and killed his enemies
ਭੁਜਾਹੀਣਏਕੰਸਿਰੰਹੀਣਕੇਤੇ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਜਾਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸਬੈਮਾਰਡਾਰੇਗਏਬੀਰਜੇਤੇ॥੩੩॥
ਸਾਰੇ (ਛਤਰੀ) ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ (ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ) ਗਏ ਸਨ ॥੩੩॥
Many warriors became armless and many became headless. All those warriors who went in front of Parashurama, he killed all of the,.33.
ਕਰੀਛਤ੍ਰਹੀਣਛਿਤੰਕੀਸਬਾਰੰ॥
(ਪਰਸ਼ੁਰਾਮ ਨੇ) ਇੱਕੀ ਵਾਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਛਤਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਹਣੇਐਸਹੀਭੂਪਸਰਬੰਸੁਧਾਰੰ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He caused the earth to become without Kshatriyas for twenty-one times and in this way, he destroyed all the kings and their base
ਕਥਾਸਰਬਜਉਛੋਰਤੇਲੈਸੁਨਾਉ॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਜੇ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਵਾਂ,
ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈਗ੍ਰੰਥਕੇਬਾਢਬੇਤੇਡਰਾਉ॥੩੪॥
ਤਾਂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੩੪॥
And if I describe the complete story from one end to the other, then I fear that the book will become very voluminous.34.

ਨਵਮਵਤਾਰਬਿਸਨਇਮਧਾਰਾ॥
ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਵਾਂ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
In this way, Vishnu manifested for the ninth time in order to enact the wonderful play.
ਅਬਬਰਨੋਦਸਮੋਅਵਤਾਰਾ॥
ਹੁਣ (ਮੈਂ) ਦਸਵੇਂ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਸੰਤਜਨਾਕਾਪ੍ਰਾਨਅਧਾਰਾ॥੩੫॥
ਜੋ ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਹੈ ॥੩੫॥
Now I describe the tenth incarnation, who is the support of the life-breath of the saints.35.

ਅਬਉਚਰੋਮੈਕਥਾਚਿਰਾਨੀ॥
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ (ਇਕ) ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਕਥਾ ਦਾ ਉੱਚਾਰਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਜਿਮਉਪਜ੍ਯੋਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਸੁਰਗਿਆਨੀ॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
Now I describe that ancient story as to how the knowledgeable Brahma was bron.
ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨਅਘਓਘਨਹਰਤਾ॥
(ਜੋ) ਚੌਹਾਂ ਮੁਖਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ, ਪਾਪ-ਹਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ
ਉਪਜ੍ਯੋਸਕਲਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਕੋਕਰਤਾ॥੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਰੂਪ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧॥
The four-headed Brahma was born as the destroyer of sins and the creator of all the universe.1.
ਜਬਜਬਬੇਦਨਾਸਹੋਇਜਾਹੀ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਬਤਬਪੁਨਿਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਹੀ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਤਦੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Whenever the knowledge of Vedas is destroyed, Brahma is then manifested.
ਤਾਤੇਬਿਸਨਬ੍ਰਹਮਬਪੁਧਰਾ॥
ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨਕਰਜਗਤਉਚਰਾ॥੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) 'ਚੌਹਾਂ ਮੁਖਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ' (ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ) ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
For this purpose Vishnu manifested himself ad Brahma and he was known as “Chaturanan” (four-faced) in the world.2.
ਜਬਹੀਬਿਸਨਬ੍ਰਹਮਬਪੁਧਰਾ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਿਆ,
ਤਬਸਬਬੇਦਪ੍ਰਚੁਰਜਗਿਕਰਾ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
When Vishnu manifested himself as Brahma, he propagated the doctrines of the Vedas in the world.
ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਕਲਬਨਾਏ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ
ਜੀਵਜਗਤਕੇਪੰਥਿਲਗਾਏ॥੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ) ਮਾਰਗ ਉਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
He composed Shastras, Smritis and gave a life-discipline to the beings of the world.3.
ਜੇਜੇਹੁਤੇਅਘਨਕੇਕਰਤਾ॥
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ,
ਤੇਤੇਭਏਪਾਪਤੇਹਰਤਾ॥
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Those people who were there to perform sinful action, after getting the knowledge. From the Vedas, they became the remover of sins.
ਪਾਪਕਰਮੁਕਹਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਦਿਖਾਏ॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੇ) ਪਾਪ-ਕਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਦਸ ਦਿੱਤੇ
ਧਰਮਕਰਮਸਬਜੀਵਚਲਾਏ॥੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ-ਕਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੪॥
The sinful actions were explained and all the beings became absorbed in the actions of Dharma ( righteousness).4.
ਇਹਬਿਧਿਭਯੋਬ੍ਰਹਮਅਵਤਾਰਾ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ
ਸਬਪਾਪਨਕੋਮੇਟਨਹਾਰਾ॥
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।
In this way, the Brahma incarnation manifested, who is the remover of all sins.
ਪ੍ਰਜਾਲੋਕੁਸਬਪੰਥਚਲਾਏ॥
ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ-ਮਾਰਗ ਉਤੇ ਚਲਾਇਆ
ਪਾਪਕਰਮਤੇਸਬੈਹਟਾਏ॥੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਹਟਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
All the subjects began to tread the path of Dharma and abandoned the sinful actions.5.

ਇਹਬਿਧਿਪ੍ਰਜਾਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਕਰਧਰਿਯੋਬ੍ਰਹਮਅਵਤਾਰ॥
ਇਸ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ (ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
In this way, the Brahma incarnation manifested for purifying he subjects
ਧਰਮਕਰਮਲਾਗੇਸਬੈਪਾਪਕਰਮਕਹਡਾਰਿ॥੬॥
ਸਾਰੇ (ਲੋਕ) ਪਾਪ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਲਗ ਗਏ ॥੬॥
And all the beings began to perform the righteous actions, forsaking the sinful action.6.

ਧਰਿਯੋਜਗਤਿਭੀਤਰਿਸੁਭਕਰਮਾ॥
ਜੋ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਧਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
The tenth incarnation of Vishnu is Brahma, who established the righteous actions in the world.
