First of tall I reckon iron, lead and gold alongwith the fourth white metal silver

ਫਿਰ ਤਾਂਬਾ, ਕਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਲ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।

ਅੱਠਵੀਂ ਧਾਤ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਜਿਸਤ ਧਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯॥
Then mentioning copper, tin and brass, I consider the eighth metal as zinc, which is found within the earth.9.

ਅਤੇ ਚੌਥੀ ਸਿੰਮਲਖਾਰ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
Now I describe the minor metals they are : antimony, cinnabar, yellow orpiment, bombax,

(ਅੱਠ) ਧਾਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ (ਅੱਠ) ਉਪਧਾਤਾਂ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
These metals, minor metals have been described by me according to my own understanding.
ਖਾਨਨਮਹਿਭੀਹੋਤਹੈਕੋਈਕਹੂੰਕਮਾਇ॥੧੧॥
ਇਹ ਖਾਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ ॥੧੧॥
He, who desires to have them, can get them.11.

ਧਾਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਧਾਤਾਂ (ਆਦਿ) ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ।
As the major and minor jewels, the major and minor metals came out
ਤਿਹਤਬਹੀਬਿਸਨਹਿਹਿਰਲਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਉਠਾ ਲਏ।
ਅਵਰਨਿਬਾਟਅਵਰਨਹਿਦਯੋ॥੧੨॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ (ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ (ਦੈਤਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੨॥
They were taken away by Vishnu and distributed the remaining things amongst all.12.
ਸਾਰੰਗਸਰਅਸਿਚਕ੍ਰਗਦਾਲੀਅ॥
(ਸਾਰੰਗ) ਧਨੁਸ਼, ਬਾਣ, (ਨੰਦਗ) ਖੜਗ, (ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ) ਚੱਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਗਦਾ (ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਰਖ ਲਏ)
ਪਾਚਾਮਰਲੈਨਾਦਅਧਿਕਕੀਅ॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੰਚਜਨ ਸੰਖ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
He took away himself the bow and arrows, the sword, the discus, the mace and the (Panchjanay) conch etc.
ਸੂਲਪਿਨਾਕਬਿਸਹਕਰਿਲੀਨਾ॥
ਫਿਰ ਹਸ ਕੇ ਪਿਨਾਕ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ
ਸੋਲੈਮਹਾਦੇਵਕਉਦੀਨਾ॥੧੩॥
ਜੋ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧੩॥
And taking the trident, the cow named Pinak and Poison in his hands, gave them to Shva.13.

ਇੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਐਰਾਵਤ ਹਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਸ੍ਰਵਾ ਘੋੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਉਠੇਦੀਹਦਾਨੋਜੁਧੰਲੋਹਪੂਰੰ॥
(ਇਹ ਪੱਖਪਾਤ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਉਠ ਖੜੋਤੇ।
The elephants named Airavat was given to Indra and the horse to the sun seeing which the demons, in great fury,Marched to wage war.
ਅਨੀਦਾਨਵੀਦੇਖਿਉਠੀਅਪਾਰੰ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਠਿਆ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੈਂਤਾ ਦੀ ਅਪਾਰ ਫੌਜ ਵੀ ਉਠ ਖੜੋਤੀ।
ਤਬੈਬਿਸਨਜੂਚਿਤਿਕੀਨੀਬਿਚਾਰੰ॥੧੪॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧੪॥
Seeing the advancing army of the demons, Vishnu thought in his mind.14.

(ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ) ਨਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ
ਭਯੋਸਾਮੁਹੇਸਸਤ੍ਰਅਸਤ੍ਰੰਸੰਭਾਰੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ-ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ (ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੇ) ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋਇਆ।
Manifesting himself as Nar and Narayan, Vishnu, managing his weapons and arms, came in front of the demon-forces.
ਭਟੰਐਠਿਫੈਂਟੇਭੁਜੰਠੋਕਿਭੂਪੰ॥
ਸੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਟਕੇ ਕਸ ਲਏ (ਕਮਰਕਸੇ ਕਰ ਲਏ) ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੇ (ਆਪਣੀਆਂ) ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਠੋਕ ਲਈਆਂ।
The warriors tied their garments tightly and the kings beat their arms
ਬਜੇਸੂਲਸੇਲੰਭਏਆਪਰੂਪੰ॥੧੫॥
ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਛੇ (ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ) ਖੜਕਣ ਲਗੇ ਅਤੇ (ਸਾਰੇ ਸੈਨਿਕ) ਤਿਆਰ-ਬਰ-ਤਿਆਰ ('ਆਪ ਰੂਪੰ') ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੧੫॥
It, that war, the tridents and the spears began to collide with each other.15.
ਪਰਿਯੋਆਪਮੋਲੋਹਕ੍ਰੋਹੰਅਪਾਰੰ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਧਰਿਯੋਐਸਕੈਬਿਸਨੁਤ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਵਤਾਰੰ॥
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਨੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਧਾਰਿਆ।
In great anger. The blows of the steel-arms began to rain and at this juncture Vishnu manifested his third incarnation.
ਨਰੰਏਕੁਨਾਰਾਇਣੰਦੁਐਸਰੂਪੰ॥
ਇਕ ਨਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਰੂਪ ਸੀ।
ਦਿਪੈਜੋਤਿਸਉਦਰਜੁਧਾਰੇਅਨੂਪੰ॥੧੬॥
(ਉਨ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੋ) ਅਨੂਪਮ ਸੌਂਦਰਯ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਮਾਨ ਸੀ ॥੧੬॥
Nar and Narayan both had similar forms and their effulgence assumed unparalleled Lustre.16.
ਉਠੈਟੂਕਕੋਪੰਗੁਰਜੰਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ॥
(ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਉਠ ਕੇ ਗੁਰਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਨਾਲ (ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੇ) ਟੋਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਜੁਟੇਜੰਗਕੋਜੰਗਜੋਧਾਜੁਝਾਰੇ॥
ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਯੋਧੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਜੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
Wearing their helmets the warriors are striking their blows with maces and the mighty heroes are engrossed in the war.
ਉਡੀਧੂਰਿਪੂਰੰਛੁਹੀਐਨਗੈਨੰ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜੋ) ਧੂੜ ਉਡੀ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਛਾ ਗਈ।
ਡਿਗੇਦੇਵਤਾਦੈਤਕੰਪਿਯੋਤ੍ਰਿਨੈਨੰ॥੧੭॥
ਦੇਵਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਡਿਗਣ ਲਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਵੀ ਕੰਬਣ ਲਗਿਆ ॥੧੭॥
The dust hath both the gods and demons, having gone astray, were falling and even the three-eyed god Shiva trembled.17.
ਗਿਰੇਬੀਰਏਕੰਅਨੇਕੰਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੰ॥
ਇਕ ਇਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ-ਵੀਰ ਡਿਗ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਸੁਭੈਜੰਗਮੋਜੰਗਜੋਧਾਜੁਝਾਰੰ॥
ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਯੋਧੇ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਸ਼ੋਭ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Many types of warriors fell in the field and the great fighters looked impressive in the war.
ਪਰੀਤਛਮੁਛੰਸਭੈਅੰਗਭੰਗੰ॥
(ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਸ਼ਾਂ) ਵੱਢੀਆਂ ਟੁਕੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗ-ਭੰਗ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਮਨੋਪਾਨਕੈਭੰਗਪੌਢੇਮਲੰਗੰ॥੧੮॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ) ਮਾਨੋ ਭੰਗ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਮਲੰਗ ਸੁਤੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੮॥
The brave fighters, being chopped into bits, began to fall and it appeared that the wrestlers are lying intoxicated after drinking hemp.18.
ਦਿਸਾਮਉਨਆਈਅਨੀਦੈਤਰਾਜੰ॥
ਦੈਂਤ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਿਸਣ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਭਜ ਗਈ)।
ਭਜੈਸਰਬਦੇਵੰਤਜੇਸਰਬਸਾਜੰ॥
(ਉਧਰ) ਦੇਵਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਾਜ਼-ਸਾਮਾਨ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
More forces of demons came from another direction, seeing which the gods, leaving all their paraphernalia, ran away.
ਗਿਰੇਸੰਜਪੁੰਜਸਿਰੰਬਾਹੁਬੀਰੰ॥
(ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ) ਸੂਰਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ, ਬਾਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਚਾਂ ਦੇ ਝੁੰਡ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਸਨ।
ਸੁਭੈਬਾਨਜਿਉਚੇਤਿਪੁਹਪੰਕਰੀਰੰ॥੧੯॥
ਬਾਣ (ਕਵਚਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਇੰਜ ਸ਼ੋਭ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਰੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੁਲ ਲਗੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੯॥
The limbs began to fall in great numbers and the arrows looked auspicious in the manner of the flowers of capparis in the month of the Chaitra.19.
