ਭੇਖਧਰੇਲੂਟਤਸੰਸਾਰਾ॥
(ਸਾਰੇ) ਭੇਖ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਟ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
They are all plundering the world in different guises
ਛਪਤਸਾਧਜਿਹੱਨਾਮੁਅਧਾਰਾ॥੨੩॥
ਜਿਸ ਸਾਧ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਧਾਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੩॥
The real saints whose prop is the Name of the Lord, they hide themselved.23.

CHAUPAI
ਪੇਟਹੇਤਨਰਡਿੰਭੁਦਿਖਾਹੀਂ॥
(ਇਹ) ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਪੇਟ ਲਈ ਪਾਖੰਡ ('ਡਿੰਭ') ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ
The people of he world, exhibit here in order to fill their bellies,
ਡਿੰਭਕਰੇਬਿਨੁਪਈਯਤਨਾਹੀਂ॥
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ (ਧਨ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
Because without heresy, they do not gain money
ਜਿਨਨਰਏਕਪੁਰਖਕਹੱਧਿਆਯੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮ-ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹੈ,
The person, who hath meditated only on the Supreme Purusha,
ਤਿਨਕਰਡਿੰਭਨਕਿਸੀਦਿਖਾਯੋ॥੨੪॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੨੪॥
He hath never exhibited an act of heresy to anyone.24.
ਡਿੰਭਕਰੇਬਿਨੁਹਾਥਿਨਆਵੈ॥
ਪਾਖੰਡ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ (ਧਨ) ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ
One’s interest remain unfulfilled without heresy
ਕੋਊਨਕਾਹੂਸੀਸਨਿਵਾਵੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੀਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਝੁਕਾਉਂਦਾ।
And none bows down his head before anyone without interest
ਜੋਇਹੁਪੇਟਨਕਾਹੂਹੋਤਾ॥
ਜੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਇਹ ਪੇਟ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ
If the belly been not attached with anyone,
ਰਾਵਰੰਕਕਾਹੂਕੋਕਹਤਾ॥੨੫॥
(ਕੋਈ) ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਕ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ? ॥੨੫॥
Then there would have not been any king or pauper in this world.25.
ਜਿਨਪ੍ਰਭਏਕਵਹੈਠਹਰਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਉਸੇ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ) ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ,
Those who have recognized only God as the Lord of all,
ਤਿਨਕਰਡਿੰਭਨਕਿਸੂਦਿਖਾਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ।
They have never exhibited any heresy to anyone
ਸੀਸਦੀਯੋਉਨਸਿਰਰਨਦੀਨਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਸਿਰੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ
Such a person gets his head chopped off but never his creed
ਰੰਚਸਮਾਨਦੇਹਕਰਿਚੀਨਾ॥੨੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਿਣਕੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਦੇਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਿਆ ॥੨੬॥
And such person considers his body equivalent only to a particle of dust.26.
ਕਾਨਛੇਦਜੋਗੀਕਹਵਾਯੋ॥
(ਕੋਈ) ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜਵਾ ਕੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
One is called a Yogi on perforating his ears
ਅਤਿਪ੍ਰਪੰਚਕਰਬਨਹਿਸਿਧਾਯੋ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਪੰਚ (ਪਾਖੰਡ ਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਖਾਵਾ) ਕਰਕੇ ਬਨ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
And goes to the forest, performing many deceitful acts
ਏਕਨਾਮੁਕੋਤੱਤੁਨਲਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਤੱਤ੍ਵ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ,
But the person who hath not absorbed the essence of the Name in his heart,
ਬਨਕੋਭਯੋਨਗ੍ਰਿਹਕੋਭਯੋ॥੨੭॥
(ਫਲਸਰੂਪ) ਉਹ ਨਾ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਬਨ ਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੨੭॥
He neither belongs to the forest nor his home.27.
ਕਹਾਲਗੈਕਬਕਥੈਬਿਚਾਰਾ॥
ਕਿਥੋਂ ਤਕ ਕਵੀ (ਰਚੈਤਾ) ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਪੂਰਵਕ ਕਹੇ।
Upto what extent this poor can describe?
ਰਸਨਾਏਕਨਪਇਯਤਪਾਰਾ॥
ਜੀਭ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਇਕ ਹੈ (ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ) ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
Because one person cannot know the mystery of the Infinite Lord
ਜਿਹਬਾਕੋਟਿਕੋਟਿਕੋਊਧਰੈ॥
(ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਕੋਈ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਜੀਭਾਂ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ
Undoubtedly, if one may have millions of tongues,
ਗੁਣਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਤ੍ਵਪਾਰਨਪਰੈ॥੨੮॥
(ਤਾਂ ਵੀ) ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨੮॥
Even then the ocean of Thy Attributes cannot be fathomed.28.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮਕਾਲਸਭਜਗਕੋਤਾਤਾ॥
ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਲ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ।
First of all the Lord as KAL is the primal farther of the whole universe
ਤਾਤੇਭਯੋਤੇਜਬਿਖਯਾਤਾ॥
ਉਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
And from him emanated the Powerful Lustre
ਸੋਈਭਵਾਨੀਨਾਮੁਕਹਾਈ॥
ਉਹੀ 'ਭਵਾਨੀ' ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਣ ਲਗਿਆ,
The same Lord was considered as Bhavani,
ਜਿਨਸਿਗਰੀਯਹਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿਉਪਾਈ॥੨੯॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ॥੨੯॥
Who created the whole world.29.
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੇਓਅੰਕਾਰਤਿਨਿਕਹਾ॥
ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ 'ਓਅੰਕਾਰ' (ਸ਼ਬਦ) ਕਿਹਾ।
First of all, He uttered ‘Oankar’:
ਸੋਧੁਨਿਪੂਰਜਗਤਮੋਰਹਾ॥
ਉਹ ਧੁਨੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਸਰ ਗਈ।
And the sound of “Onkar’ Pervanded the whole world,
ਤਾਤੇਜਗਤਭਯੋਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ॥
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਵਿਸਤਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ।
There was expansion of the whole world,
ਪੁਰਖਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਿਤਿਜਬਦੁਹੂੱਬਿਚਾਰਾ॥੩੦॥
(ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੁਰਖ (ਓਅੰਕਾਰ) ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ (ਤੇਜ) ਵਜੋਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ॥੩੦॥
From the union of Purusha and Prakriti.30.
ਜਗਤਭਯੋਤਾਤੇਸਭਜਨੀਯਤ॥
ਤਾਂ (ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ, (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
The world was created and from that time, everyone knows it as world
ਚਾਰਖਾਨਕਰਪ੍ਰਗਟਬਖਨੀਯਤ॥
(ਅਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਚਾਰ ਖਾਣੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਬਖਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Four divisions of creation became manifest and as such they were described
ਸਕਤਇਤੀਨਹੀਬਰਨਸੁਨਾਊਂ॥
(ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ) ਇਤਨੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਨਹੀਂ (ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਬ੍ਰਿੱਤਾਂਤ ਦਾ) ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਵਾਂ
I have no power to give their description,
ਭਿੰਨਭਿੰਨਕਰਨਾਮਬਤਾਉਂ॥੩੧॥
ਅਤੇ ਵਖਰੇ ਵਖਰੇ ਕਰਕੇ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਨਾਂਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦਸਾਂ ॥੩੧॥
And tell their names separately.31.
ਬਲੀਅਬਲੀਦੋਊਉਪਜਾਏ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਬਲੀ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਅਤੇ ਅਬਲੀ (ਦੇਵਤੇ) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਕੀਤੇ
That Lord created both the powerful and the weak
ਊਚਨੀਚਕਰਭਿੰਨਦਿਖਾਏ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ।
They were shown distinctly as high and low
ਬਪੁਧਰਿਕਾਲਬਲੀਬਲਵਾਨਾ॥
ਬਲਵਾਨ ਕਾਲ ਨੇ ਮਹਾਬਲੀ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ
The powerful KAL, adopting the physical form,
ਆਪਹਰੂਪਧਰਤਭਯੋਨਾਨਾ॥੩੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ (ਸਹਾਇਕ) ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ॥੩੨॥
Manifested Himself in numerous forms.32.
ਭਿੰਨਭਿੰਨਜਿਮੁਦੇਹਧਰਾਏ॥
(ਉਸ ਕਾਲ ਨੇ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਖ ਵਖ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ,
According as the Lord adopted different forms,
ਤਿਮੁਤਿਮੁਕਰਅਵਤਾਰਕਹਾਏ॥
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਉਹ) 'ਅਵਤਾਰ' ਅਖਵਾਏ।
In the same manner, he became renowned as different incarnations
ਪਰਮਰੂਪਜੋਏਕਕਹਾਯੋ॥
ਪਰਮ-ਸੱਤਾ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਇਕ ਰੂਪ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
But whatever is the Supreme form of the Lord
ਅੰਤਸਭੋਤਿਹਮੱਧਿਮਿਲਾਯੋ॥੩੩॥
ਅੰਤ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ (ਅਵਤਾਰ) ਉਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩੩॥
Ultimately all merged in Him.33.
ਜਿਤਿਕਜਗਤਿਕੇਜੀਵਬਖਾਨੋ॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ ਬਖਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Consider all the beings in the world,
ਏਕਜੋਤਸਭਹੀਮਹਿਜਾਨੋ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ) ਇਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
Ad the illumination of the same Light,
ਕਾਲਰੂਪਭਗਵਾਨਭਨੈਬੋ॥
(ਜਿਸ) ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲ-ਰੂਪ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
The Lord, Who is known as KAL
ਤਾਮੈਲੀਨਜਗਤਿਸਭਹ੍ਵੁੈਬੋ॥੩੪॥
ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੩੪॥
All the world will merge in Him.34.
ਜੋਕਿਛੁਦਿਸਟਿਅਗੋਚਰਆਵਤ॥
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਗੋਚਰ (ਜੋ ਇੰਦਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ) ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Whatever appears inconceivable to us,
ਤਾਕਹੁਮਨਮਾਯਾਠਹਰਾਵਤ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ 'ਮਾਇਆ' (ਵਜੋਂ) ਨਿਸਚਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The mind gives it the name of Maya
