ਤਹਾਗਯੋਅਜੈਸਿੰਘਸੂਰਾਸੁਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ॥
(ਵੈਰ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਦ ਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ) ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਅਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ
In that place of (of Sanaudhi Brahmin) went the warrior Ajai Singh in great rage,
ਹਨਿਯੋਅਸਮੇਧੰਕਰਿਓਪਰਮਜੁਧੰ॥੧੪॥੨੮੫॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਸੁਮੇਧ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੧੪॥੨੮੫॥
Who wanted to kill Asumedh in a fierce war.14.285.
ਰਜੀਆਪੁਤ੍ਰਦਿਖਿਯੋਡਰੇਦੋਇਭ੍ਰਾਤੰ॥
ਰਜੀਆ (ਦਾਸੀ) ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ (ਅਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਰਾਜਕੁਮਾਰ) ਭਰਾ ਡਰ ਗਏ।
Both the brothers were frightened on seeing the son of the maid-servant.
ਗਹੀਸਰਣਬਿਪ੍ਰੰਬੁਲਿਯੋਏਵਬਾਤੰ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਨੌਢੀਏ) ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਗੇ
They took shelter of the Brahmin and said:
ਗੁਵਾਹੇਮਸਰਬੰਮਿਲੇਪ੍ਰਾਨਦਾਨੰ॥
ਕਿ ਜੇ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣ-ਦਾਨ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਗਊ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਨਾ ਆਦਿ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ (ਦਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁੰਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ)।
“Save our life, thou shalt receive the gift of cows and gold from the lord
ਸਰਨੰਸਰਨੰਸਰਨੰਗੁਰਾਨੰ॥੧੫॥੨੮੬॥
ਹੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ! (ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ) ਸ਼ਰਨ ਹਾਂ, ਸ਼ਰਨ ਹਾਂ, ਸ਼ਰਨ ਹਾਂ ॥੧੫॥੨੮੬॥
“O Guru, we are in thy shelter, we are in thy shelter, we are in thy sgelter.”15.286.

ਤਬਭੂਪਤਤਹਦੂਤਪਠਾਏ॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਰਾਜੇ (ਅਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੇ ਉਥੇ ਦੂਤ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
The king (Ajai Singh) sent his messengers (to king Tilak) and (Sanaudhi Brahmin).
ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਸਕਲਦਿਜਕੀਏਰਿਝਾਏ॥
(ਸਨੌਢੀਏ) ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਜਾ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
Who satisfied all the incoming Brahmin.
ਅਸਮੇਧਅਰੁਅਸੁਮੇਦਹਾਰਾ॥
(ਇਸ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ) ਅਸੁਮੇਧ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੁਮੇਦ ਹਾਰ ਖਾ ਕੇ
(These messengers saidJ “Asumedh and Asumedhan,
ਭਾਜਪਰੇਘਰਤਾਕਤਿਹਾਰਾ॥੧॥੨੮੭॥
ਭਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਘਰ ਆਏ ਹਨ ॥੧॥੨੮੭॥
“Have run and hid themselves in thy home.1.287.
ਕੈਦਿਜਬਾਧਦੇਹੁਦੁਐਮੋਹੂ॥
ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜੀ! ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਓ,
“O Brahmin, either bind and deliver them to us
ਨਾਤਰਧਰੋਦੁਜਨਵਾਤੋਹੂ॥
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੇ (ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗੇ)।
“O thou shalt be considered like them
ਕਰਿਓਨਪੂਜਾਦੇਉਨਦਾਨਾ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਨਾ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
“Thou shalt neither be worshipped nor any gift be given to thee
ਤੋਕੋਦੁਖਦੇਵੋਦਿਜਨਾਨਾ॥੨॥੨੮੮॥
(ਸਗੋਂ) ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ॥੨॥੨੮੮॥
“Thou shalt then be given various types of sufferings.2.288.
ਕਹਾਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਦੁਇਕੰਠਲਗਾਏ॥
ਕੀ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮੁਰਦੇ (ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਗੱਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
“Why hast thou hugged these two dead ones to thy bosom?
ਦੇਹੁਹਮੈਤੁਮਕਹਾਲਜਾਏ॥
ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦੇਣ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਹੈ।
“Give them back to us Why art thou hesitating?
ਜਉਦੁਐਏਤੁਮਦੇਹੁਨਮੋਹੂ॥
ਜੇ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਓਗੇ
“If thou dost not return both of them to me,
ਤਉਹਮਸਿਖਨਹੋਇਹੈਤੋਹੂ॥੩॥੨੮੯॥
ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਿੱਖ (ਸੇਵਕ) ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ ॥੩॥੨੮੯॥
“Then we shall not be thy disciples.”3.289.
ਤਬਦਿਜਪ੍ਰਾਤਕੀਓਇਸਨਾਨਾ॥
(ਪੰਡਿਤ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਆਗਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ) ਤਦ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
Then the Sanaudhi Brahmin got up early in the morning and took bath.
ਦੇਵਪਿਤ੍ਰਤੋਖੇਬਿਧਨਾਨਾ॥
ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
He worshipped in various ways the gods and manes.
ਚੰਦਨਕੁੰਕਮਖੋਰਲਗਾਏ॥
(ਫਿਰ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ) ਚੰਦਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਸਰ ਦੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਲਗਾਏ
Then he put the frontal marks of sandal and saffron on his forehead.
ਚਲਕਰਰਾਜਸਭਾਮੈਆਏ॥੪॥੨੯੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਚਲ ਕੇ ਰਾਜ-ਸਭਾ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ॥੪॥੨੯੦॥
After that he walked upto his court.4.290.
ਦਿਜੋਬਾਚ॥
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ:
The Brahmin said:
ਹਮਰੀਵੈਨਪਰੈਦੁਐਡੀਠਾ॥
ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਏ,
“Neither have I seen both of them,
ਹਮਰੀਆਇਪਰੈਨਹੀਪੀਠਾ॥
ਨਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
“Nor have they taken shelter.
ਝੂਠਕਹਿਯੋਜਿਨਤੋਹਿਸੁਨਾਈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ (ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਦਸੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਝੂਠ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
“Whosoever has given thee news about them, he hath told a lie,
ਮਹਾਰਾਜਰਾਜਨਕੇਰਾਈ॥੧॥੨੯੧॥
ਹੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋ ॥੧॥੨੯੧॥
“O Emperor, the king of kings.1.291.
ਮਹਾਰਾਜਰਾਜਨਕੇਰਾਜਾ॥
ਹੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ! ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ!
“O Emperor, the king of kings,
ਨਾਇਕਅਖਲਧਰਣਸਿਰਤਾਜਾ॥
(ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਤਾਜ ਰਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੋ।
“O the hero of all the universe and Master of the earth
ਹਮਬੈਠੇਤੁਮਦੇਹੁਅਸੀਸਾ॥
ਅਸੀਂ (ਇਥੇ) ਬੈਠੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ
“While sitting here, I am giving blessings to thee,
ਤੁਮਰਾਜਾਰਾਜਨਕੇਈਸਾ॥੨॥੨੯੨॥
ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਾਜੇ (ਬਣੇ ਰਹੋ) ॥੨॥੨੯੨॥
“Thou , O monarch, art the Lord of the kings.”2.292.
ਰਾਜਾਬਾਚ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ:
The king said:
ਭਲਾਚਹੋਆਪਨਜੋਸਬਹੀ॥
(ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਲਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ
“If thou art thy own well-wisher,
ਵੈਦੁਇਬਾਧਦੇਹੁਮੁਹਿਅਬਹੀ॥
ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿਓ।
“Bind both of them and give them immediately to me
ਸਬਹੀਕਰੋਅਗਨਕਾਭੂਜਾ॥
(ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਨੀ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ
“I shall make all of them the food of fire,
ਤੁਮਰੀਕਰਉਪਿਤਾਜਿਉਪੂਜਾ॥੩॥੨੯੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ॥੩॥੨੯੩॥
“And worship thee as my father.”3.293.
ਜੋਨਪਰੈਵੈਭਾਜਤਿਹਾਰੇ॥
ਜੇ (ਉਹ) ਭਜ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੁਕੇ,
“If they have not run and concealed themselves in thy house,
ਕਹੇਲਗੋਤੁਮਆਜਹਮਾਰੇ॥
ਤਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਮੰਨੇ।
“Then thou obeyest me today
ਹਮਤੁਮਕੋਬ੍ਰਿੰਜਨਾਦਬਨਾਵੈ॥
ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਭੋਜਨ (ਬਿੰਜਨ) ਆਦਿ ਬਣਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
“I shall prepare very tasteful food for thee,
ਹਮਤੁਮਵੈਤੀਨੋਮਿਲਖਾਵੈ॥੪॥੨੯੪॥
ਅਸੀਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਤਿੰਨੋ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਖਾਵਾਂਗੇ ॥੪॥੨੯੪॥
“Which they, thou and me, all shall eat together.”4.294.
ਦਿਜਸੁਨਬਾਤਚਲੇਸਭਧਾਮਾ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ (ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ)।
Hearing these words of the king, all the Brahmins went to their homes,
ਪੂਛੇਭ੍ਰਾਤਸੁਪੂਤਪਿਤਾਮਾ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਭਰਾਵਾਂ, ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਕੇ) ਪੁਛਿਆ
And asked their brothers, sons and elders:
ਬਾਧਦੇਹੁਤਉਛੂਟੇਧਰਮਾ॥
ਕਿ (ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਧਰਮ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ
“If they are bound and given, then we lose our Dharma,
ਭੋਜਭੁਜੇਤਉਛੂਟੇਕਰਮਾ॥੫॥੨੯੫॥
ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ ॥੫॥੨੯੫॥
“If we eat their food, then we pollute our Karmas.”5.295.
ਯਹਿਰਜੀਆਕਾਪੁਤਮਹਾਬਲ॥
ਇਹ ਰਜੀਆ (ਦਾਸੀ) ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਹੈ
“This son of the maid-servant is a mighty warriors,
ਜਿਨਜੀਤੇਛਤ੍ਰੀਗਨਦਲਮਲ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਛਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤ ਕੇ ਮਸਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
“Who hath conquered and mashed the Kshatriya forces.
ਛਤ੍ਰਾਪਨਆਪਨਬਲਲੀਨਾ॥
ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ-ਸੱਤਾ (ਛਤ੍ਰਾਪਨ) ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ
“He hath acquired his kingdom with his own might,
