ਕਿਧੌਰਾਗਮਾਲਾਰਚੀਰੰਗਰੂਪੰ॥
ਜਾਂ ਰੂਪ-ਰੰਗ ਦੀ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਗਮਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ,
It seemed as if a wreath of musical modes was presenting itself in colour and form
ਕਿਧੌਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਰਾਜਾਰਚੀਭੂਪਭੂਪੰ॥
ਜਾਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ,
Or the Lord, king of kings, had created her as the Sovereign of beautiful women
ਕਿਧੌਨਾਗਕੰਨਿਆਕਿਧੌਬਾਸਵੀਹੈ॥
ਜਾਂ ਨਾਗ-ਕੰਨਿਆਂ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜਾਂ ਇੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੋਵੇ,
Or she was the daughter of a Naga or Basve, the wife of Sheshanaga
ਕਿਧੌਸੰਖਨੀਚਿਤ੍ਰਨੀਪਦਮਨੀਹੈ॥੨੩॥੧੯੧॥
ਜਾਂ ਸੰਖਨੀ, ਚਿਤ੍ਰਨੀ (ਅਥਵਾ) ਪਦਮਨੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨੩॥੧੯੧॥
Or she was the charming replica of Sankhani, Chitrani or Padmini (9 types of women).23.191.
ਲਸੈਚਿਤ੍ਰਰੂਪੰਬਚਿਤ੍ਰੰਅਪਾਰੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਅਪਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਿਤਰ ਵਰਗਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਸੀ,
Her wonderful and infinite beauty glistened like a painting.
ਮਹਾਰੂਪਵੰਤੀਮਹਾਜੋਬਨਾਰੰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮਹਾਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਰ-ਜੁਆਨ ਸੀ।
She was most elegant and most youthful.
ਮਹਾਗਿਆਨਵੰਤੀਸੁਬਿਗਿਆਨਕਰਮੰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮਹਾਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਿਕ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀ।
She was most knowledgeable and adept in scientific works.
ਪੜੇਕੰਠਿਬਿਦਿਆਸੁਬਿਦਿਆਦਿਧਰਮੰ॥੨੪॥੧੯੨॥
(ਉਹ) ਕੰਠ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਸੀ (ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਵਿਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਆਦਿ ਸੀ ॥੨੪॥੧੯੨॥
She had all learning at her finger ends and was thus an adept in the discipline.24.192.
ਲਖੀਰਾਜਕੰਨਿਆਨਤੇਰੂਪਵੰਤੀ॥
(ਜਨਮੇਜੇ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਰਾਜ-ਕੰਨਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ (ਅਧਿਕ) ਰੂਪਵਾਨ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
The king considered her more winsome than the light of fire.
ਲਸੈਜੋਤਜ੍ਵਾਲਾਅਪਾਰੰਅਨੰਤੀ॥
(ਉਹ) ਅਪਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਜੁਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਾਂਗ ਚਮਕ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
The light of her face shone enormously than the light of fire.
ਲਖ੍ਯੋਤਾਹਿਜਨਮੇਜਏਆਪਰਾਜੰ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਜਨਮੇਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ
The king Janmeja himself considered her like this,
ਕਰੇਪਰਮਭੋਗੰਦੀਏਸਰਬਸਾਜੰ॥੨੫॥੧੯੩॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ (ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਜਾਵਟ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ॥੨੫॥੧੯੩॥
Therefore he ardently copulated with her and gave her all the royal paraphernalia.25.193.
ਬਢਿਓਨੇਹੁਤਾਸੋਤਜੀਰਾਜਕੰਨਿਆ॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ (ਜਨਮੇਜੇ ਦਾ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜ-ਪੁੱਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The king was greatly in love with her he abandoned the king’s daughters (queens)
ਹੁਤੀਸਿਸਟਕੀਦਿਸਟਮਹਿਪੁਸਟਧੰਨਿਆ॥
(ਜੋ) ਸਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ (ਦਾਸੀ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ) ਹੁਣ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
Who were considered eminent and fortunate in the sight of the world.
ਭਇਓਏਕਪੁਤ੍ਰੰਮਹਾਸਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ॥
(ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ) ਇਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ
A son, a great weapon-wielder was born to him
ਦਸੰਚਾਰਚਉਦਾਹਬਿਦਿਆਬਿਚਾਰੀ॥੨੬॥੧੯੪॥
ਜੋ ਦਸ, ਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਸੀ ॥੨੬॥੧੯੪॥
He became adept in fourteen learnings.26.194.
ਧਰਿਓਅਸਮੇਧੰਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਪੁਤ੍ਰਨਾਮੰ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਅਸੁਮੇਧ' ਰਖਿਆ।
The king named his first son as ASMEDH,
ਭਇਓਅਸਮੇਧਾਨਦੂਜੋਪ੍ਰਧਾਨੰ॥
ਦੂਜਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ) 'ਅਸਮੇਧਾਨ' (ਰਖਿਆ)।
And named his second son as ASMEDHAN.
ਅਜੈਸਿੰਘਰਾਖ੍ਯੋਰਜੀਪੁਤ੍ਰਸੂਰੰ॥
ਰਜੀ (ਦਾਸੀ) ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਅਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ' ਰਖਿਆ (ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ) ਸੂਰਵੀਰ,
The maid-servant’s son was named AJAI SINGH,
ਮਹਾਜੰਗਜੋਧਾਮਹਾਜਸਪੂਰੰ॥੨੭॥੧੯੫॥
ਜੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਯੋਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਯਸ਼ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ ॥੨੭॥੧੯੫॥
Who was a great hero, a great warrior and greatly renowned.27.195.
ਭਇਓਤਨਦੁਰੁਸਤੰਬਲਿਸਟੰਮਹਾਨੰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬਹੁਤ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ।
He was a person of healthy body and great strength.
ਮਹਾਜੰਗਜੋਧਾਸੁਸਸਤ੍ਰੰਪ੍ਰਧਾਨੰ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮਹਾਨ ਯੋਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ-ਵਿਦਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਸੀ।
He was a great warrior in the battlefield and adept in warfare.
ਹਣੈਦੁਸਟਪੁਸਟੰਮਹਾਸਸਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
He killed prominent tyrants with his sharp-edged weapons.
ਬਡੇਸਤ੍ਰਜੀਤੇਜਿਵੇਰਾਵਣਾਰੰ॥੨੮॥੧੯੬॥
ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ('ਰਾਵਣਾਰੰ') ਵਾਂਗ ਤਕੜੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਤ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੮॥੧੯੬॥
He conquered many enemies like Lord Rama, the killer of Ranana.28.196.
ਚੜਿਓਏਕਦਿਵਸੰਅਖੇਟੰਨਰੇਸੰ॥
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਜਾ (ਜਨਮੇਜਾ) ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ।
One day the King Janmeja went hunting.
ਲਖੇਮ੍ਰਿਗਧਾਯੋਗਯੋਅਉਰਦੇਸੰ॥
(ਬਨ ਵਿਚ) ਇਕ ਮਿਰਗ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਪਿਛੇ ਘੋੜਾ) ਭਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ਼ (ਦੀ ਸੀਮਾ) ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ।
Seeing a deer, he pursued him and went to another country.
ਸ੍ਰਮਿਓਪਰਮਬਾਟੰਤਕਿਯੋਏਕਤਾਲੰ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ (ਰਾਜਾ) ਥਕ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਤਾਲਾਬ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
After the long and arduous journey, the king was tired when he saw a tank,
ਤਹਾਦਉਰਕੈਪੀਨਪਾਨੰਉਤਾਲੰ॥੨੯॥੧੯੭॥
ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਉਥੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੯॥੧੯੭॥
He ran there quickly to drink water.29.197.
ਕਰਿਓਰਾਜਸੈਨੰਕਢਿਓਬਾਰਬਾਜੰ॥
(ਜਲ ਪੀ ਕੇ) ਰਾਜਾ (ਉਥੇ) ਸੌਂ ਗਿਆ, (ਤਦੋਂ) ਜਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਅਗੰਮੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਘੋੜਾ ਕਢਿਆ।
Then the king went to sleep. (the destiny) caused a horse to come out of water.
ਤਕੀਬਾਜਨੀਰੂਪਰਾਜੰਸਮਾਜੰ॥
(ਜਲ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਠਾਠ-ਬਾਠ ਵਾਲੀ ਘੋੜੀ (ਬਾਜਨੀ) ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ
He saw the beautiful royal mare.
ਲਗ੍ਯੋਆਨਤਾਕੋਰਹ੍ਯੋਤਾਹਿਗਰਭੰ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ (ਘੋੜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਆਣ ਲਗਿਆ, (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਰੂਪ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਰਭ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
He copulated with her and made her pregnant.
ਭਇਓਸਿਯਾਮਕਰਣੰਸੁਬਾਜੀਅਦਰਬੰ॥੩੦॥੧੯੮॥
(ਸਮਾਂ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਘੋੜੀ ਨੇ) ਕਾਲੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਕ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਘੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩੦॥੧੯੮॥
From her an invaluable horse of black ears was born.30.198.
ਕਰਿਯੋਬਾਜਮੇਧੰਬਡੋਜਗਰਾਜਾ॥
(ਉਸ ਘੋੜੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ) ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਸ਼੍ਵਮੇਧ ਯੱਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
The king Janmeja began his great horse-sacrifice.
ਜਿਣੇਸਰਬਭੂਪੰਸਰੇਸਰਬਕਾਜਾ॥
ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਜਿਤ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸੰਵਰ ਗਏ।
He conquered all the kings and all his errands were set right.
ਗਡ੍ਯੋਜਗਥੰਭੰਕਰਿਯੋਹੋਮਕੁੰਡੰ॥
(ਫਿਰ) ਯੱਗ ਦਾ ਖੰਭਾ ਗਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯੱਗ-ਕੁੰਡ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ।
The columns of the sacrificial place were fixed and the sacrificial altar was constructed.
ਭਲੀਭਾਤਪੋਖੇਬਲੀਬਿਪ੍ਰਝੁੰਡੰ॥੩੧॥੧੯੯॥
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਜਾ ਪੁਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩੧॥੧੯੯॥
He satisfied nicely the assembly of the Brahmins giving wealth in charity.31.199.
ਦਏਕੋਟਦਾਨੰਪਕੇਪਰਮਪਾਕੰ॥
ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਧੀਆ ਪਕਵਾਨ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਵਾਏ।
Millins of gifts were given in charity and pure foods were served.
ਕਲੂਮਧਿਕੀਨੋਬਡੋਧਰਮਸਾਕੰ॥
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਕਲਿਯੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਸਾਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
The king performed a great event of Dharma in the Kaliyuga.
ਲਗੀਦੇਖਨੇਆਪਜਿਉਰਾਜਬਾਲਾ॥
ਜਿਉਂ ਹੀ ਰਾਣੀ ('ਰਾਜ-ਬਾਲਾ') (ਉਠ ਕੇ) ਵੇਖਣ ਲਗੀ
As the queen began to scan all this,
ਮਹਾਰੂਪਵੰਤੀਮਹਾਜੁਆਲਆਲਾ॥੩੨॥੨੦੦॥
ਮਹਾਨ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੇਜ ਵਾਲੀ ਰਾਣੀ ('ਰਾਜ-ਬਾਲਾ')- ॥੩੨॥੨੦੦॥
She the most beautiful and abode of Supreme glory.32.200.
ਉਡ੍ਯੋਪਉਨਕੇਬੇਗਸਿਯੋਅਗ੍ਰਪਤ੍ਰੰ॥
(ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ) ਅਗੇ ਦਾ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਹਵਾ ਦੇ ਬੁਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਡ ਗਿਆ
The frontal garment of the queen flew away by the gust of wind.
ਹਸੇਦੇਖਨਗਨੰਤ੍ਰੀਯੰਬਿਪ੍ਰਛਤ੍ਰੰ॥
(ਅਤੇ ਰਾਣੀ ਨੰਗੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਉਸ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗਿਆ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਅਤੇ ਛਤਰੀ ਹਸ ਪਏ।
The Brahmins and Kshatriyas (in the assembly) seeing the nakedness of the queen laughed.
ਭਇਓਕੋਪਰਾਜਾਗਹੇਬਿਪ੍ਰਸਰਬੰ॥
(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਅਨਾਦਰ ਕਰਕੇ) ਰਾਜਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਪਕੜ ਲਏ।
The king in great fury caught hold of all the Brahmins.
ਦਹੇਖੀਰਖੰਡੰਬਡੇਪਰਮਗਰਬੰ॥੩੩॥੨੦੧॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਖੰਡ (ਕੇ ਕੁੰਡਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ) ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩੩॥੨੦੧॥
All the highly proud great Pundits were burnt with hot mixture of milk and sugar.33.201.
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮਬਾਧਿਕੈਸਰਬਮੂੰਡੇਮੁੰਡਾਏ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ (ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ) ਸਾਰੇ (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ) ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਮੁਨਵਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Firstly all the Brahmins were bound down and their heads were shaved.
ਪੁਨਰਏਡੂਆਸੀਸਤਾਕੇਟਿਕਾਏ॥
ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਇੰਨੂ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
Then the pads were placed on the top of their heads.
ਪੁਨਰਤਪਤਕੈਖੀਰਕੇਮਧਿਡਾਰਿਓ॥
ਫਿਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੱਤੀ ਖੀਰ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
Then the boiling milk was poured (within the pads).
ਇਮੰਸਰਬਬਿਪ੍ਰਾਨਕਉਜਾਰਿਮਾਰਿਓ॥੩੪॥੨੦੨॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾੜ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩੪॥੨੦੨॥
And thus all the Brahmins were burnt and killed.34.202.
