ਤਣਿਤਣਿਤੀਰਚਲਾਏਦੁਰਗਾਧਨਖਲੈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਖਿਚ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਏ।
Durga, taking her bow, stretched it again and again for shooting arrows.
ਜਿਨੀਦਸਤਉਠਾਏਰਹੇਨਜੀਵਦੇ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ (ਦੇਵੀ ਵਲ) ਹੱਥ ਉਲ੍ਹਾਰਿਆ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ) ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
Those who raised their hands against the goddess, did not survive.
ਚੰਡਅਰਮੁੰਡਖਪਾਏਦੋਨੋਦੇਵਤਾ॥੩੨॥
ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਚੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩੨॥
She destroyed both Chand and Mund.32.
ਸੁੰਭਨਿਸੁੰਭਰਿਸਾਏਮਾਰੇਦੈਤਸੁਣਿ॥
ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ (ਦੀ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸ਼ੁੰਭ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
Sumbh and Nisumbh were highly enraged on hearing this killing.
ਜੋਧੇਸਭਿਬੁਲਾਏਆਪਣੇਮਜਲਸੀ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੀ ਮਜਲਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਏ
They called all the brave fighters, who were their advisers.
ਜਿਨੀਦੇਉਭਜਾਏਇੰਦ੍ਰਜੇਹਵੇ॥
(ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੰਦਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਭਜਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ,
Those who had caused the gods like Indra run away.
ਤੇਈਮਾਰਗਿਰਾਏਪਲਵਿਚਦੇਵਤਾ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਚੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡ) ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਹੈ।
The goddess killed them in an instant.
ਓਨੀਦਸਤੀਦਸਤਵਜਾਏਤਿਨਾਚਿਤਿਕਰਿ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ (ਮਜਲਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਗਮ ਵਿਚ ਡੁਬ ਕੇ) ਹੱਥ ਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਮਾਰੇ।
Keeping Chand Mund in their mind, they rubbed their hands in sorrow.
ਫਿਰਿਸ੍ਰਣਵਤਬੀਜਚਲਾਏਬੀੜੇਰਾਇਦੇ॥
ਫਿਰ ਰਾਜੇ (ਸ਼ੁੰਭ) ਨੇ ਰਕਤ-ਬੀਜ ਨੂੰ (ਪਾਨ ਦਾ) ਬੀੜਾ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਲ) ਤੋਰਿਆ।
Then Sranwat Beej was prepared and sent by the king.
ਸੰਜਪਟੇਲਾਪਾਏਚਿਲਕਤਟੋਪੀਆਂ॥
(ਰਾਖਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੇ) ਕਵਚ ਅਤੇ ਪਟੇਲੇ (ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਢਕਣ ਲਈ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਲੀਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ (ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ) ਟੋਪੀਆਂ ਚਮਕ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
He wore the armour with belts and the helmet which glistened.
ਲੁੱਝਣਨੋਅਰੜਾਏਰਾਕਸਰੋਹਲੇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਰੜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
The infuriated demons shouted loudly for war.
ਕਦੇਨਕਿਨੈਹਟਾਏਜੁੱਧਮਚਾਇਕੈ॥
(ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ ਦੇਣ (ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ) ਕੋਈ ਹਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਿਆ,
After waging war, none could get their retreat.
ਮਿਲਿਤੇਈਦਾਨੋਆਏਹੁਣਸੰਘਰਦੇਖਣਾ॥੩੩॥
ਉਹੀ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ) ਆ ਗਏ ਸਨ, ਹੁਣ ਯੁੱਧ (ਦਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼) ਵੇਖਣਾ ॥੩੩॥
Such demons have gathered together and come, now see the ensuing war.33.
ਪਉੜੀ॥
ਦੈਤੀਡੰਡਉਭਾਰੀਨੇੜੈਆਇਕੈ॥
ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੌਲਾ (ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ)।
On coming near, the demons raised the din.
ਸਿੰਘਕਰੀਅਸਵਾਰੀਦੁਰਗਾਸ਼ੋਰਸੁਣਿ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਮਦ ਦਾ) ਸ਼ੋਰ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
Hearing this clamour, Durga mounted her lion.
ਖੱਬੈਦਸਤਉਭਾਰੀਗਦਾਫਿਰਾਇਕੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਗਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੁੰਮਾ ਕੇ ਖਬੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਉਲਾਰਿਆ
She twirled her mace, raising it with her left hand.
ਸੈਨਾਸਭਸੰਘਾਰੀਸ੍ਰਣਵਤਬੀਜਦੀ॥
ਅਤੇ ਰਕਤ-ਬੀਜ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
She killed all the army of Sranwat Beej.
ਜਣੁਮਦਖਾਇਮਦਾਰੀਘੂਮਨਸੂਰਮੇ॥
ਸੂਰਮੇ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ (ਇਉਂ) ਘੁੰਮ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਅਮਲੀ ('ਮਦਾਰੀ') ਨਸ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਘੁੰਮ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ)।
It appears that the warriors were roaming like the drug addicts taking drugs.
ਅਗਣਤਪਾਉਪਸਾਰੀਰੁਲੇਅਹਾੜਵਿਚਿ॥
ਅਣਗਿਣਤ (ਦੈਂਤ) ਪੈਰ ਪਸਾਰੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Innumerable warriors are lying neglected in the battlefield, stretching their legs.
ਜਾਪੇਖੇਡਿਖਿਡਾਰੀਸੁੱਤੇਫਾਗਨੂੰ॥੩੪॥
(ਇੰਜ) ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਹੋਲੀ ਖੇਡ ਕੇ ਸੁਤੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੩੪॥
It seems that the revelers playing Holi are sleeping.34.
ਪਉੜੀ॥
ਸ੍ਰਣਵਤਬੀਜਹਕਾਰੇਰਹਦੇਸੂਰਮੇ॥
ਰਕਤ-ਬੀਜ ਨੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਬਚੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
Sranwat Beej called all the remaining warriors.
ਜੋਧੇਜੇਡਮੁਨਾਰੇਦਿੱਸਨਖੇਤਵਿਚਿ॥
ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਨਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੇ
They seem like minarets in the battlefield.
ਸਭਨੀਦਸਤਉਭਾਰੇਤੇਗਾਂਧੂਹਿਕੈ॥
ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਖਿਚ ਕੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ (ਬਾਂਹਵਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਉਲਾਰ ਲਿਆ।
All of them pulling their swords, raised their hands.
ਮਾਰੋਮਾਰਪੁਕਾਰੇਆਏਸਾਹਮਣੇ॥
(ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ) ਮਾਰੋ-ਮਾਰੋ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਣ (ਡਟੇ)।
They came in front shouting "kill, kill".
