ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਕੇਭੋਗਨਭਰੈ॥੧੦॥
ਅਤੇ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਨਾਲ (ਮਨ) ਭਰਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
He would indulge in congenial sex and make love with herinvariably.(10)

ਦੇਓ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰਦੀ ਸੀ।
She was duly afraid of Quazi and the demons,
ਨਾਕਚੜਾਏਰਤਿਕਰੈਤਾਪੈਕਛੁਨਬਸਾਇ॥੧੧॥
ਉਹ ਨਕ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਵਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਲਦਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੧॥
Being helpless she would make love disdainfully.(11)

ਤਬਤਿਨਏਕਉਪਾਇਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਉਪਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ
ਕਰਮੈਏਕਪਤ੍ਰਲਿਖਿਡਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖਿਆ।
She hit upon a plan and, she, herself, wrote a letter.
ਕਾਜੀਸਾਥਬਾਤਯੌਕਹੀ॥
ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ
ਮੇਰੇਹੌਸਚਿਤਇਕਰਹੀ॥੧੨॥
ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਇੱਛਾ ('ਹੌਸ') ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
Then she told Quazi that she had one earnest desire in her mind.(12)

ਅਬਲੌਸਦਨਦਿਲੀਸਕੇਦ੍ਰਿਗਨਬਿਲੋਕੇਨਾਹਿ॥
ਮੈਂ ਅਜ ਤਕ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
‘I have not seen the house ofthe Emperor of Delhi.
ਯਹੈਹੌਸਮਨਮੈਚੁਭੀਸੁਨੁਕਾਜਿਨਕੇਨਾਹਿ॥੧੩॥
ਹੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਇਹੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੁਭੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
‘It is my greatest aspiration that I may go there.’(13)
ਦੇਵਸਾਥਕਾਜੀਕਹਿਯੋਯਾਕੋਭਵਨਦਿਖਾਇ॥
ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਦੇਓ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਮਹੱਲ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿਓ
Quazi ordered the demon, ‘Take her there to show her the palace,
ਬਹੁਰੋਖਾਟਉਠਾਇਕੈਦੀਜਹੁਹ੍ਯਾਂਪਹੁਚਾਇ॥੧੪॥
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਮੰਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਕ ਕੇ ਇਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਦਿਓ ॥੧੪॥
‘And after that pick up her bed and bring her back here.’(14)

ਤਾਕੌਦੇਵਤਹਾਲੈਗਯੋ॥
ਉਸ (ਪਰੀ) ਨੂੰ ਦੇਓ ਉਥੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।
ਸਭਹੀਧਾਮਦਿਖਾਵਤਭਯੋ॥
ਸਾਰਾ ਮਹੱਲ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
The demon took her there and showed her all the mansions.
ਸਾਹਸਾਹਕੋਪੂਤਦਿਖਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ।
ਹਰਅਰਿਸਰਤਾਤ੍ਰਿਯਕੌਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥੧੫॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਕਾਮ ਦੇਵ ('ਹਰ-ਅਰਿ') ਨੇ ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੫॥
He exhibited her the King and the King’s son, by whose sight she felther heart pierced by the Cupid’s arrow.(15)
ਚਿਤ੍ਰਦੇਵਕੋਹੇਰਤਭਈ॥
ਉਹ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਓ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਰਹੀ
ਪਤਿਯਾਡਾਰਿਹਾਥਤੇਦਈ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਤੀ (ਪਤ੍ਰਿਕਾ) ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
As her mind was lost in the thought of the Cupid, the letter slippeddown her hand.
ਆਪੁਬਹੁਰਿਕਾਜੀਕੈਆਈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਆਪ ਫਿਰ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਗਈ।
ਉਤਿਪਤਿਯਾਤਿਨਛੋਰਿਬਚਾਈ॥੧੬॥
ਉਧਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
She, then, returned to Quazi and the letter was left there.(16)

ਫਿਰੰਗਰਾਵਕੀਮੈਸੁਤਾਲ੍ਯਾਵਤਦੇਵਉਠਾਇ॥
(ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੀ) ਮੈਂ ਫਿਰੰਗ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਓ ਉਠਾ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
‘I am the daughter of Farangh Shah and the demon carries me away(to Quazi).
ਮੋਸੋਕਾਜੀਮਾਨਿਰਤਿਦੇਹਤਹਾਪਹੁਚਾਇ॥੧੭॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਫਿਰ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭॥
‘When Quazi had made love to me, he sends me back.(l7)
ਮੈਤੁਮਪਰਅਟਕਤਿਭਈਤਾਤੇਲਿਖਿਯੋਬਨਾਇ॥
ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ) ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
‘I have fallen in love with you, and that is why I am writing this letter.
ਨਿਜੁਨਾਰੀਮੁਹਿਕੀਜੀਯੈਦੇਵਕਾਜਿਯਹਿਘਾਇ॥੧੮॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਣਾ ਲਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਓ ਤੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਓ ॥੧੮॥
After annihilating Quazi and the demon, please take me as yourwoman.’(18)

ਤਬਤਿਨਜੰਤ੍ਰਮੰਤ੍ਰਬਹੁਕਰੇ॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ (ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਜਾਤੇਦੇਵਰਾਜਜੂਜਰੇ॥
ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੇਓ ਸੜ ਗਿਆ।
He conducted some incantations and the demon was killed.
ਬਹੁਰਿਕਾਜਿਯਹਿਪਕਰਿਮੰਗਾਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਮੰਗਵਾਇਆ।
ਮੁਸਕਬਾਧਿਦਰਿਯਾਇਡੁਬਾਯੋ॥੧੯॥
ਮੁਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਡੁਬਵਾਇਆ ॥੧੯॥
Then he called in Quazi, tied his arms and threw him in the river.(19)
ਬਹੁਰੋਤੌਨਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਕੌਬਰਿਯੋ॥
ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ
ਭਾਤਿਭਾਤਿਕੇਭੋਗਨਕਰਿਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਵਿਲਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ।
He married the woman and, inevitably, revelled in making love,
ਦੇਵਰਾਜਮੰਤ੍ਰਨਸੋਜਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਪਹਿਲਾਂ) ਦੇਓ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜਿਆ।
ਤਾਪਾਛੇਕਾਜੀਕੌਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥੨੦॥
ਉਸ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ॥੨੦॥
As he had burnt demon through sorcery and later killed Quazi.(20)
ਜੋਚਤੁਰਾਚਿਤਚਰਿਤਬਨਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਚਾਲਾਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ,
ਮਨਮੋਚਹਿਯੋਵਹੈਪਤਿਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮਨ ਚਾਹਿਆ ਪਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
She had manoeuvred with subterfuge and had achieved him, whomshe desired for’
ਦੇਵਰਾਜਕੌਆਦਿਜਰਾਇਸ॥
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੇਓ ਨੂੰ ਸੜਵਾਇਆ।
ਤਾਪਾਛੈਕਾਜੀਕਹਘਾਇਸ॥੨੧॥
ਉਸ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਵਾਇਆ ॥੨੧॥
And through him got the demon burnt and then eliminated Quazi.(21)

ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸੁਤਕੋਭਰਤਾਕਿਯੋਚਤੁਰਾਚਰਿਤਸੁਧਾਰਿ॥
ਇਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਤੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ
The wise girl, through a phenomenon, married the King’s son,
ਮਨਮਾਨਤਕੋਬਰੁਬਰਿਯੋਦੇਵਕਾਜਿਯਹਿਮਾਰਿ॥੨੨॥
ਅਤੇ ਮਨਚਾਹੇ ਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦੇਓ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੨॥
And got the demon and Quazi exterminated.(22)(l)

ਧਰਮ-ਖੇਤਰ ਕਰੁਕਸ਼ੇਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਚ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਰਥ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ।
In the pious place of Kurukashetara, Bachiter Rath used to rule.
ਬਾਜਰਾਜਸੰਪਤਿਸਹਿਤਜੀਤੇਜੁਧਅਨੇਕ॥੧॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ, ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਪਤੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਅਨੇਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਜਿਤੇ ਸਨ ॥੧॥
He had won many wars and was bestowed with many hawks, horsesand wealth.(1)
