ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਬਰਵਾਗਾਉਉਜਾਰਕੈਕਰੇਮੁਕਾਮਭਲਾਨ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦੇ) ਬਰਵਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭਲਾਨ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਠਿਕਾਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
On the way they plundered the village Barwa and halted at Bhallon.
बरवा गाउ उजार कै करे मुकाम भलान ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭਬਲਹਮੈਨਛੁਇਸਕੈਭਾਜਤਭਏਨਿਦਾਨ੯॥॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਉਹ) ਮੂਰਖ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਛੋਹ ਤਕ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ॥੯॥
They could not touch me because of the Grace of the Lord and fled away ultimately.9.
प्रभ बल हमै न छुइ सकै भाजत भए निदान ॥९॥
ਤਵਬਲਿਈਹਾਨਪਰਸਕੈਬਰਵਾਹਨਾਰਿਸਾਇ॥
ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ (ਉਹ) ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਉਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਹਮਲਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ, (ਪਰ) ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਬਰਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
Because of Thy Favour, O Lord! They could not do any harmahere, but filled with great anger, they destroyed the village Barwa.
तव बलि ईहा न पर सकै बरवा हना रिसाइ ॥
ਸਾਲਿਨਰਸਜਿਮਬਾਨੀਯਰੋਰਨਖਾਤਬਨਾਇ੧੦॥॥
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮਾਸ ਦੇ ਰਸ ਦੀ (ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ) ਬਾਣੀਆ (ਮਾਸ ਤਾਂ ਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ਪਰ ਰੋੜਿਆਂ (ਦਾ ਸਾਲਨ) ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦॥
Just as a Vishya (Bania), though desirous of tasting meat, cannot actually have its relish, but instead prepares and eats the salted soup of parched wheat. 10.
