ਧਨਾਸਰੀਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mahalaa:
धनासरी महला ५ ॥
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਖੋ
ਦੀਨਦਰਦਨਿਵਾਰਿਠਾਕੁਰਰਾਖੈਜਨਕੀਆਪਿ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਨਾਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
The Lord and Master destroys the pain of the poor; He preserves and protects the honor of His servants.
दीन दरद निवारि ठाकुर राखै जन की आपि ॥
ਤਰਣਤਾਰਣਹਰਿਨਿਧਿਦੂਖੁਨਸਕੈਬਿਆਪਿ੧॥॥
ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ) ਲੰਘਾਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਕੋਈ) ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
The Lord is the ship to carry us across; He is the treasure of virtue - pain cannot touch Him. ||1||
तरण तारण हरि निधि दूखु न सकै बिआपि ॥१॥
ਸਾਧੂਸੰਗਿਭਜਹੁਗੁਪਾਲ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate, vibrate upon the Lord of the world.
साधू संगि भजहु गुपाल ॥
ਆਨਸੰਜਮਕਿਛੁਨਸੂਝੈਇਹਜਤਨਕਾਟਿਕਲਿਕਾਲ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਜਤਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਝੰਬੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ। (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝਦੀ ਰਹਾਉ॥
I cannot think of any other way; make this effort, and make it in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||Pause||
आन संजम किछु न सूझै इह जतन काटि कलि काल ॥ रहाउ ॥
ਆਦਿਅੰਤਿਦਇਆਲਪੂਰਨਤਿਸੁਬਿਨਾਨਹੀਕੋਇ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਦਇਆ-ਦਾ-ਘਰ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਖਾ) ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
In the beginning, and in the end, there is none other than the perfect, merciful Lord.
आदि अंति दइआल पूरन तिसु बिना नही कोइ ॥
ਜਨਮਮਰਣਨਿਵਾਰਿਹਰਿਜਪਿਸਿਮਰਿਸੁਆਮੀਸੋਇ੨॥॥
ਉਸੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਕਰ, ਉਸੇ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ-ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ॥੨॥
The cycle of birth and death is ended, chanting the Lord's Name, and remembering the Lord Master in meditation. ||2||
जनम मरण निवारि हरि जपि सिमरि सुआमी सोइ ॥२॥
ਬੇਦਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿਕਥੈਸਾਸਤਭਗਤਕਰਹਿਬੀਚਾਰੁ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਵੇਦ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ (ਹਰੇਕ ਧਰਮ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਗਤ ਜਨ (ਭੀ ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ) ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
The Vedas, the Simritees, the Shaastras and the Lord's devotees contemplate Him;
बेद सिंम्रिति कथै सासत भगत करहि बीचारु ॥
ਮੁਕਤਿਪਾਈਐਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿਬਿਨਸਿਜਾਇਅੰਧਾਰੁ੩॥॥
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਝੰਬੇਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
liberation is attained in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and the darkness of ignorance is dispelled. ||3||
मुकति पाईऐ साधसंगति बिनसि जाइ अंधारु ॥३॥
ਚਰਨਕਮਲਅਧਾਰੁਜਨਕਾਰਾਸਿਪੂੰਜੀਏਕ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਹੀ ਭਗਤਾਂ (ਦੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ) ਦਾ ਸਰਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
The lotus feet of the Lord are the support of His humble servants. They are his only capital and investment.
चरन कमल अधारु जन का रासि पूंजी एक ॥
ਤਾਣੁਮਾਣੁਦੀਬਾਣੁਸਾਚਾਨਾਨਕਕੀਪ੍ਰਭਟੇਕ੪੨੨੦॥॥॥॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਹੈ, ਸਹਾਰਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੨੦॥
The True Lord is Nanak's strength, honor and support; He alone is his protection. ||4||2||20||
ताणु माणु दीबाणु साचा नानक की प्रभ टेक ॥४॥२॥२०॥
